    Someday scientists are going to realize that morel mushrooms are sentient organisms and only grow exactly where they want to. 😁

    I loved your humor on this video!!!
    I live in the northern lower peninsula of Michigan and was walking next to my garage and there was a morel mushroom right against the garage. I walked all around and didn't find any more in that area. I don't care for mushrooms so I kept it in the refrigerator for 2 days and then threw it out. I have to admit, I have never tried morels.

    We supposedly have tons of morels in our area, but I've been to find on my expeditions are ticks. I'm going to give this strategy a try next year. Thanks.

    • @johnbuck8846
      @johnbuck8846 Рік тому

      Axe body spray "Twist" is the scent . It works really well for ticks. Or just self with baby powder right out of the shower. I know both are effective for ticks

    • @johnbuck8846
      @johnbuck8846 Рік тому +1

      Axe maybe changed the name of the Twist spray it was a citrus scent that changed its scent after 4 hours and lasts for 8 hours. The change of the scent and being citrus is a description of in case the name is different. I have not seen it in 7 years or so. Works much better than any bug spray or off or deep woods or repel none work as good as the axe. The dark temptation scent will not work for nothing. Only Twist scent

    Be sure to collect and use rainwater or filtered water because it doesn't contain chlorine. Pouring unfiltered tap water (or water from your garden hose) over the bed could kill the spores.

      It's not quite morel season here yet, so there's nothing to report on so far. I'm already keeping an eye on the area just in case, but I don't expect I'll see anything for a little bit. And that's if anything comes up at all. It can take anywhere from 1 to several years before they come up for the first time. I'm definitely hoping I see something though.

    Success or fail for your experimental morel inoculation? Please let us know if worked. I inoculated last spring multiple location on my property using same morel spawn, my own inoculated spores and morel slurry produced from some morel wild picked mushrooms. No signs of morels until today. I am so curious if anyone succeded on this experimental cultivation of morels🤓

      @@GreatLakesPrepping ok, Tx. I’ll keep eyes peeled on my beds too. So curious if any movement will take place this spring.🤓. BTW I am in south east Pennsylvania, and I have no idea when is the best time to look for morels on my area,… early spring, late spring…

    • @GreatLakesPrepping
      @GreatLakesPrepping  Рік тому

      @@ted4730 They say it's between late April and mid-June (in Michigan anyway). It's probably similar for PA. Still a pretty big window of time. It seems to correlate to when the temps are ideal, and how dry/wet the spring is. They say when the temps dip into freezing at night, but into the 50s or 60s during the day is often ideal. And also if it's not a super dry spring. It's been pretty darn wet here so far.

      @@GreatLakesPrepping awesome. Years ago on my first attempt at utilizing the slurry method, i worked my but off spreading spores like Johny spreads apple seeds. Unfortunately I ignorantly used tap water later to discover that by having done so i had killed my spores along with my chances of success. So i figured that was great practice lol. Question how late in the year can you find morels where you live?
