Alan, I enjoy your speaker reviews and I'm a subscriber. Regarding this review, I agree and disagree. I own the X10 and 2 motion booms. I used to own a T9 too, but returned it because the X10 sounds better. I like to remaster my music using Audacity to enhance the bass and make other tweaks. After watching many of your videos, I finally decided on a speaker to get! I wanted something to listen to at home when doing things around the house but I also wanted something for family gatherings. I used to be a die hard JBL fan but after finding your channel, I narrowed my choices down to two options. The W-King T9 or the Soundcore Motion Boom. I decided to order the T9 for the reason of the bigger sound and volume. I know that the Motion Boom has deeper bass but in your comparison video you said that you don't miss it much because of the bigger sound. They were also the same price. Did I make the right choice? I also love your channel and thank you so much for your valuable input!
Either is a great listen. The differences being as you said, deep bass vs big open sparkly sound. I listen to both, they sound so different and both offer a decent sound.
Hey alon, nice video men, wking ist good soo long is not challenge soundcore, then they are louder but the quality is not so good as the motion plus/ motion boom the boom just need a bit more volume.
Motion Boom with custom EQ is much much better than X10 indeed. Now i'm comparing original track to these microphone captured ones with Beyerdynamic DT 1770 PRO's and Schiit Valhalla AMP + Bifrost DAC combination, the difference is clear and Motion Boom with custom EQ is closer to original.
X10 mid focused and only good thing is that, more powerful output at max volume... MB is better for sure but i don't like the handle...It makes the speaker so big (I like "Dockin D fine" shape)...
Definitely depends on usage. My own W-King D8 is almost exclusively used as that "background" speaker - like in a factory, in a garage, around loud machinery. Never for personnel listening. Not that I could use it for that anyway - my neighbours would be banging on my door.
Hey I love your video's, but I can't find out your opinion which portable bluetooth speaker (stereo obviously) is the best in 2021. I wanna buy one in the near future but I don't know which one. Which should you buy?
I listen now this video in my Motion Boom and really sound excellent, the EQ is really the best way for maximum experience with this speaker, the only bad in my opinion is the codec SBS, the motion + used aptx why this no? at least use AAC, other thing is the latency is a few high, the rest is incredible, I'm very happy..
I'm not sure if you saw already but I got my motion Boom today and I Loved it...until it broke in 2 hours the right side went crazy in 1 bass heavy song and it the right side is rattling so imma send it back and get another one
@@alanrossreviews ik right I have to worst luck and yes it was in custom I released if the 80 and 150 HZ slider is to low it starts distorting so I have them both on -6 but the 150 is a bit higher right under 7

Very strange video but glad to subscribe nonetheless! I must say tho that the splitter on the X10 is actually bi-parsal and not uni-polar as you suggested, just a little correction 'fan correction' lol
Hi Alan, I am a big fan of your channel and reviews and I was wondering which mid-priced speaker in general is in your opinion the best one in terms of clear and detailed sound? I am not looking for a loud one with extra bass etc party speaker but a one which I can enjoy with other hi-fi enthusiast friends on the go. Cheers!
the motion plus would come into that reckoning. what do you call mid priced? there is always the vifa helsinki of course, the minirig hooked to a sub is pretty clear and detailed. t9 is also very clear and quite detailed.
@@alanrossreviews , I agree that the price ranges can be tricky :) I was thinking of a speaker in the 100-150£. Price range. Thank you and keep up with the amazing reviews!
@@MrMrivanov86 i would probably say the safest option is motion plus. the charge 5 is pretty clear but not a hifi speaker at all. the sony xb33 is a possible but really personally i would go motion plus if you can live without deep bass.
Quality video. Question if you don't mind. The X10 like you says goes louder. What I don't quite get is what speaker to go for, since the main goal for me personally is filling a almost "warehouse" like room, the size of a basketball court. Would the Motion Boom overall be too quiet for that you think? I've got a LG PK5 now, but that thing barely fills up half of the room, with quite shitty quality as well
@@alanrossreviews Not meant to fill it for a party, it's more as background music for after school activities (indoor basketball n football) Wish i could affordm a 110 though :')
I had been using your original eq settings on the Boom and just decided to try this one. Big difference haha. Can't tell if I love it as it's a bit more muddy than the old eq setting but it does give the Boom more meat. Wish the JBL X10 had eq settings lol.
The eq from my first video in it? Yeah i have refined it over time as i played more genres. Maybe biggest difference was i had 150 hz - 2 but now +2 i think.
@@alanrossreviews had to get myself another one I've been using mine none stop although I've found out it's gonna need a bit of tweaking/shaving to stop the radiators from hitting the inner rims on bass heavy tunes at high volume
I listen to lot of rock and country from 50s 60s 70s then mix in lil rap from 80s 90s .... I had the motion boom.... no matter how id eq and connected to my note 20 ultra at 80 percent volume or more it would distort and sound went to shit.... now having the x10 for me and again connected to note 20 ultra I go to adapt sound and hit under 30 yrs old in my phone sound settings... it brightens the highs... vocals intruments etc... if a person has android that has that and you have the x10 you will have the best sounding bt speaker made in my opinion for this class of speakers. When the boom distorts and bass drops off the the x10 gets meaner and more beautiful. I get Alan can't eq the x10 for his viewers but I almost think as a reviewer I wish more like Alan would show any and every way to make these speakers sound better.... the boom is not stock right now he has it eq'd in their app so why not at least show what the x10 can do with an android phone cuz people... yes the boom sounds brighter here.... but do what I'm sayin and the x10 smokes the boom..... I don't know much but I do know if I at all felt the x10 wasn't better I wouldn't own it but add in the better build... better battery better charging and its clear to me the x10 is better .... but again x10 stock vs the boom and the boom being eq adjusted yes it sounds brighter here but trust me if you have Android and can do what I suggest you will hear how much better the x10 is. Alan great vid tho man!!!!
@@dangiroux7065 no doubt about it and especially if person can use Android and do the sound settings I'm talkin about..... others who have reviewed them both agree with us but to me the x10 makes the boom Sound tiny.... like a lil speaker and that's no bs and before these I owned the exos 3 jbl extreme 2 both the soundcore motion plus and motion boom then had 2 d9s then t9 returned t9 as no ip rating and got the x10 few weeks ago.... this speaker is hands down my favorite so far and again I don't just listen to rap I listen to lot of old school stuff and I enjoy some treble so that's why I do that sound settings and never take it off indoor mode with that bass and boosted highs it makes it just even more frickin amazing.... but to each their own I guess and in all honesty I wouldn't have ever returned the boom if it didn't go south when I'd hit 80 percent or more volume I mean it's great little speaker but no where near the beast that the x10 is!!!
@@alanrossreviews yes true that 👍 and another thing the cell phones have something to do with sound quality I have an LG and it works well but my Motorola did not work well for sound quality on my Bluetooth speakers
Have you tried using an external eq to see if the x10 gets better? I’m still thinking on what to buy, I want. The better sound, weight and water proofing of the boom and on the other hand the 3.5 jack could be useful to use at work
@@alanrossreviews try the Abramtek M8 bluetooth speaker. Its $99 and I wasn't really expecting much but boy was I wrong. It's smaller then the motion plus but can easily match it with sound quality. It has this smooth like velvety sound I just didn't expect. Bass depth almost matches the motion plus. But it goes way louder then it. It's definitely best below 70% volume. After it gets weird. But for how small the air chamber is I can't understand how it can put out this quality of bass. I took it to work and was playing it at like 30% or so and people came over and they were just flabbergasted at how small it was. They thought it was a much bigger speaker. Definitely depends on usage. My own W-King D8 is almost exclusively used as that "background" speaker - like in a factory, in a garage, around loud machinery. Never for personnel listening. Not that I could use it for that anyway - my neighbours would be banging on my door.
F&*k the neighbours 😂😂
Yup scenario changes everything 😃
Hey I love your video's, but I can't find out your opinion which portable bluetooth speaker (stereo obviously) is the best in 2021. I wanna buy one in the near future but I don't know which one. Which should you buy?
Kinda like the size of a JBL charge 4/5
Best or best value. My best value is motion boom.
It might be aac on ios but i only test on android
@@alanrossreviews perhaps in a update can work with AAC minimally or aptx... It would be great
no, codec wont change with firmware update
I'm not sure if you saw already but I got my motion Boom today and I Loved it...until it broke in 2 hours the right side went crazy in 1 bass heavy song and it the right side is rattling so imma send it back and get another one
shit i havent heard that happen before, not in 1st 2 hours. was that in custom mode?
@@alanrossreviews ik right I have to worst luck and yes it was in custom I released if the 80 and 150 HZ slider is to low it starts distorting so I have them both on -6 but the 150 is a bit higher right under 7
@@TheAscendedTechNinja is it the passive radiator? wonder whats happened here, rattling as in loose?
@@alanrossreviews the driver itself the PR is ok but all I heard was the PRs knocking hard and when I tried to stop the music the damage was already done
@@TheAscendedTechNinja shit! 😱🤪
Very strange video but glad to subscribe nonetheless! I must say tho that the splitter on the X10 is actually bi-parsal and not uni-polar as you suggested, just a little correction 'fan correction' lol
not totally following what you are saying 🤪
W King T9, sound quality and volume. Winner
Its a nice big sparkly sound
@@alanrossreviews Thanks!
I think a comparison between the X10 and the Onyx Studio 6 would be quite interesting interms of bass
The onyx 6 can produce deep bass the x10 can only dream of. 😊
Hey Alan ! I have a question. I’m trying to decide between the Sony xb43 and the Motion boom. Which one is louder and has a better sound?
ua-cam.com/video/OSznIl_lxJI/v-deo.html
Quality video. Question if you don't mind. The X10 like you says goes louder. What I don't quite get is what speaker to go for, since the main goal for me personally is filling a almost "warehouse" like room, the size of a basketball court. Would the Motion Boom overall be too quiet for that you think? I've got a LG PK5 now, but that thing barely fills up half of the room, with quite shitty quality as well
holy shit no, you are talking partybox speakers not these. start with partybox 110.
@@alanrossreviews Not meant to fill it for a party, it's more as background music for after school activities (indoor basketball n football) Wish i could affordm a 110 though :')
right but you wont to fill a warehouse, the boom or the x10 will not do that.
@@alanrossreviews alright, cheers for the answers. Best to save up a bit then
I had been using your original eq settings on the Boom and just decided to try this one.
@@alanrossreviews The one you posted on Instagram awhile ago. It had 13k at like, +8 or so and had the mids slightly down.
Seems to be more depth/atmosphere to the sound on the smaller Motion Boom
for sure.
Motion boom is on prime deal atm for £62.99 for anyone after one
Basically giving it away
@@alanrossreviews had to get myself another one I've been using mine none stop although I've found out it's gonna need a bit of tweaking/shaving to stop the radiators from hitting the inner rims on bass heavy tunes at high volume
Hey! would you suggest two Motion Booms or one W-King x10 for big backyard / house parties? I have a big family that likes to go all out haha. Thanks!
two motion booms
@@alanrossreviews thank you!! I have one Motion Boom now and it’s great. Can’t wait to try it out in stereo!
do you think 2x motion boom would be better then the x10 at >80%? In terms of bass and overall?
I know it costs more but i want to know
Yes i would go two booms 👍
I didn't expect much out of the X10. Maybe an update could help it.
Just some decent dsp past 2.5khz and a bit more lower bass.
I'm with you 💯% I own both and my x10 kills the boom hands down
@@dangiroux7065 no doubt about it and especially if person can use Android and do the sound settings I'm talkin about..... others who have reviewed them both agree with us but to me the x10 makes the boom Sound tiny.... like a lil speaker and that's no bs and before these I owned the exos 3 jbl extreme 2 both the soundcore motion plus and motion boom then had 2 d9s then t9 returned t9 as no ip rating and got the x10 few weeks ago.... this speaker is hands down my favorite so far and again I don't just listen to rap I listen to lot of old school stuff and I enjoy some treble so that's why I do that sound settings and never take it off indoor mode with that bass and boosted highs it makes it just even more frickin amazing.... but to each their own I guess and in all honesty I wouldn't have ever returned the boom if it didn't go south when I'd hit 80 percent or more volume I mean it's great little speaker but no where near the beast that the x10 is!!!
it would be boring if we all agreed on every speaker 😋
@@alanrossreviews I agree 100 percent 0n that!!!! Alan have a great day and as always thanks for nother awesome video!!!!
@@alanrossreviews yes true that 👍 and another thing the cell phones have something to do with sound quality I have an LG and it works well but my Motorola did not work well for sound quality on my Bluetooth speakers
What would you recommend for a good 50w speaker? Must have Aux. I was considering the 30w boom but no Aux :(
depends on form factor, party speakers more likely to have aux
im still realy happy with my xtreme 3 : D
thats all that matters 👍
Have you tried using an external eq to see if the x10 gets better? I’m still thinking on what to buy, I want. The better sound, weight and water proofing of the boom and on the other hand the 3.5 jack could be useful to use at work
If I'm listening at low levels the boom is far better. But if I want max volume X10 all the way
well yeah, the x10 goes louder 👌
Two of them bought on on Amazon on the spot.

Hey Alan do you know if there are differences in the sound of the Soundcore Motion boom and the Soundcore Select pro ?
Yes check snow queen tech channel
How close are the minds and highs of the boom and motion plus?
Not at all close, m+ is way clearer and more defined
Is it me or is the sound more crisp on the Motion Boom? Must hurry up with some videos as you have done so many during my hiatus lol 😂
It's not you, it is clearer 👍
Because the vocals roll off from 2.5khz so the vocals on the boom are so much wider and thicker they stand out more. Dont worry summer is here and thus drinking takes precedent over speaker reviews 😁 its the natural order 👌

Motion boom for your room but x10 might be better for pizza shop
BTW can you try comparing motion boom to other speakers with EQ set to all +8 so it goes the loudest it can?
it starts limiting anyway as you go up the volume scale so you lose the benefit of this while make everything more muddy
@@alanrossreviews Well i dont think it can be even muddier than W-king tho. I tryied doing this outdor and it gave nice results filling even more space but bass was really not there.
Alan there is a 3rd passive rad in the back.idk if it helps much.
yup, thanks.
W-king x10 is much better on outdoor mode and of course it is heavy coz the battery is 15000 mah that can last for 2 days straight..
Its heavy cause of the battery? 🤔 Lol
Most of the time yes.. it's just common sense..have you ever seen a 15000 mah battery with just the size of your thumb?
If you can make a electrical power plant with the size of a shoe box then i will agree with you ..
It's heavy because it use ferrite magnets, batteries are light
can i remove safety grill from W king x10 ?Because of look on that nice speakers
you can prise it off but stand a good chance of breaking the connectors
Hi Allan, can u please guide if i should buy edifier d12 (70 watt) or soundcore motion plus/boom (30 watt). portability is not a concern for me. I am looking for loud big room filling sound and audiophile level fidelity.
