Fun fact the reason why the tribit is heavier is probably because of these reasons. -Its bigger in size, battery and drivers (duhh) -It got a intergrated powersupply (no powerbrick) -It got ferrit magnets instead of Neodynium magnets.
Bravo comparison Alan. I own all three and I agree with your thoughts on all three. Personally, I am not keeping the Stormbox Blast even though I like it the best overall. It's just too darn heavy. On the other hand it's by far the most anchored and stable. So there is a plus to it's weight. Now the plastic used on the Motion Boom Plus seems to be VERY easy to dent, but I'm banking on Soundcore to come out with a silicone protective sleeve. May never happen. If not, I'll just have to continue to baby it.
Awesome review again, I think your conclusion is spot on. D10 is great for kids or when you want something small, light and not too expensive to carry around. Impressive for it's price. Blast is the best sounding, best looking, but big, heavy and most expensive, Boom Plus in the middle somewhere.
I have both the Tribit SBB and the MB+. with the .36 firmware update on the MB+, boy its pretty close. I go back and forth on which one I like better. I had the MB+ and was not happy with the highs... it was a tiny bit too harsh... so based on other peoples comparisons, especially Alan's expertise, I bought the Tribit SBB. Now that I have both and the .36 update, I sometimes like the sound of one then prefer the other. It really has a lot to do with the songs I pick and the placement of the speaker. In general, I like the MB+ outdoors more than the Tribit outdoors, again... sometimes. Indoor I generally like the SBB more. Again, it usually depends on the song, and also depends on where I put the speaker - next to a wall, 5 ft. away from a wall, etc. All these things impacted the sound a lot more than the difference between the 2 speakers. I am glad that Alan does all this in a controlled environment with actual measurements to distinguish between these speakers. Good thing I am not reviewing speakers. In any case I really enjoy them both, they are both pretty fun to listen to. Something else that might be impacting my listen is that I am generally listening at 30-50% volume. Both of these things are LOUD AS HECK and I am not trying to have the cops called on my while I am chilling in my pool 😀.
have you tried my neutral eq on the blast? i think the blast is more eq friendly whereas you cant change the overall signature of the boom plus too much imho
@@alanrossreviews No Alan, thank you . I did actually while watching this video take a picture of your eq settings. I plan to apply them tonight after work. I have not been happy with my eq adjustments, but I only spent a little time messing with it. I was waiting for another vid from you :) and hoping to cheat off of you when you had a chance to dial it in a bit. Thanks I really appreciate it.
Alan, I used you eq settings and I am quite happy with it. Good smooth sound. I mean this is certainly not a $5K speaker arrangement. But for $200, the Tribit SBB has certainly exceeded my expectations.
I just ordered the WD king 10. I’m just glad I’m able to support my moderately expensive hobby. I like having different options. I currently have two JBL charge fives that I have in my bathroom. One is my shower speaker, and the other is my girlfriends shower speaker. I have a JBL extreme three that I really don’t know what to do with. Just not one of my favorites. I have the soundcore motion boom plus that I mainly use for cookouts and family get together‘s. And finally, I have the storm box blast that is mainly an indoor speaker for whenever I have a group of people over at my place. Now I just have to see where the WD king sounds the best and in what situations.
I’m keeping the storm and the D10. At first I was disappointed in the D 10 because I thought it wasn’t very loud. Today I just learned if I was at full volume on my phone I could still make it louder by pressing + the button on the speaker. None of the other speakers are like that. So I just assumed it was at full volume. Now I love this thing. Since it was only $100 I will use it as my portable speake & it charges by USB ! I will keep the storm at home or save it for parties. I can’t believe I’m returning the 2 Soundcore‘s but I do love those lights lol.
@@alanrossreviews yes it does! Crazy I thought it was going to hold the previous volume settings. Maybe because I had it at 100 it changes to normal levels so it doesn’t just turn on a full blast?
To level the playing field, in my opinion, you should test speakers with the same EQ, especially if you compare Anker's speakers with other speakers that hasn't EQ app. There's powerful EQ app that can be used for all speakers, PowerAmp. On soundcore boost, I compared your eq settings with eq set by PowerAmp, for my taste, eq via PowerAmp is better. When set eq via PowerAmp, I turn off Anker's eq settings by set all frequencies to 0.
This is like my setup I had testet in June as I received the blast. But tested the mb+ with I think fw 0.26-0.32 and for me blast > all. but the d10 has won the battle against my eqed mb+ in some blind hearings with about 10 ppl. So in the end I had returned my two mb+ and happy to have the d10 and my lovly blast. Mb+ should now be better with fw 0.36. So thanks for the comparision and your impression.
Lmaooooo at the beginning with the UBoom 😂 Another masterclass video Alan!!! Stormbox did what we thought it would do, and manhandled both speakers. Motion Boom+ sounds a hell of alot better since getting rid of that 6kHZ peak (only negative is idk why they reduced the volume) W-King is impressive at loud volumes. Good value for what it’s intended purpose is.
@@alanrossreviews That’s true you did say that. Could’ve been simpler just to reduce the peak in the first place, instead of doing all the other theatrics to get to this point. But what do I know 😁😁
@@alanrossreviews It seams to me that they were well aware of the MB+ limitations due to the not so flexible passive radiators and insanely enoying tweeters they used, and as some type of bisare marketing strategy decided to get people talking about the speaker, out of hate/ disappointment mostly, and test the overall level of reaction-aceptance to such trial release, then once enough customers got somehow used to the worse they've ever done , and before getting too great a hit to their reputation, they just brought it's sound back to the original aceptable level. But Man I'm angry at what they did, when just some motion plus level tweeters and more agile flexible passive radiators would have resulted in a totally different set of speakers, providing the sound quality we've come to expect from Soundcore. " Why create such a hype as if they were releasing their very best speakers yet, knowing all too well that they had lower their standard to such a degree "? Had they spent the efforts and resources they poured into meaningless marketing, into correcting the MB+ flaws, we customers would've served as the best marketing team ever, free of charge!
I was in the market for a outdoor bluetooth speaker for use on my patio and for camping. Now dont get me wrong, i know high end audio gear. In my house I have multiple systems built around brands like bryston, bel canto, anthem, cambridge audio, yba, jolida, black ice, and so on. With that in mind i know bluetooth speakers arent true hifi, really my only requirements was that it was weather resistent and loud. I considered all three of these speakers and settled on the Wking, which mostly came down to price. Now i could afford all of these, and even something 10 times the price, but at least here in canada the Wking was by far the cheapest. The trimbit was going for $220 CAD, the sound core was $150 CAD and the Wking was $80. Do the sound core and trimbit sound better? Probably, but with the wking being almost half the price of the sound core and almost 1/3 the price of the trimbit it seemed like a no brainer. Huge bonus that i can use it as a battery bank too. For my usecase its perfect and honestly does sound better than most bluetooth speakers ive come across
Just got the Boom plus, had two Blast for about half a year, and they are great inndor but outdoor the bass is not the same., so think the Boom plus will be my on the go speaker, good sounding and very light. I would recommend both this speakers, but for different use 🙂
The tribit stormbox blast is just such a well built out the box great speaker and for the price for how full the sound is and long the battery life is, it truly is phenomenal.
As always, great job on the video! Man I don't know if it's just me, but none of these speakers are doing it for me. I think I'll just stick to hauling my Aiwa Exos 9 around the house and out back for now. At least I get in a workout at the same time.
Hi! Great videos 👍🏻. I was wondering what your thoughts are in between the D10 and T9? I am thinking about getting one of these two but am not sure about which sounds better. The price is quite similar. Thanks
Seeing this for the first time, and this guy is really all about sound quality. So if that's the case, I would LOVE to see how he compares the H King X10 to these other two speakers. I think the X10 would've put performed the Boom Plus. And that's still without EQ customizing. Would be a video I'd come back to see!
ive done videos on the x10. for me its not very good but i can see its pleasing for outdoor parties or maybe just hip like stuff. it rolls off from 3khz which is incredible. that v shape also makes it hard to pickup without the strap.
Hello, Mr. Ross! I have ordered the blast and in the waiting game til it arrives. Just a noob question, do we need to charge the blast to full before using it for the first time? Thank you so much in advance for the advice .
@@alanrossreviews Thank you, Mr. Ross. I bought the maxsound plus basing on your reviews and decided to buy another tribit thunderbox plus. Now, I want to go a little bigger since you got lots of praises on blast. Thank you once again, Mr. Ross.
Hey Alan. Do you have the latest firmware for the MBP? Because many owners of the MBP say, that there is a big sound improvement since the latest update. Its so difficult to choose the right speaker. At the moment I have the Blast and I´m very happy with it but I hate the fact that you cannot charge it with usbc. For the difference between MBP and Blast you can buy a big powerbank and have much more capacity than the Blast.
Hey Alan. Just a question. Is there a specific reason you don’t like to review “noise cancelling” ear buds or “ over ear head sets etc ?? Or are you just not into them personally. I like to use both I have a pretty big collection of both speakers as well as headphones /earbuds. (Just curious). No rush for an answer
Hey man, I really liked your tests. I have soundcore motion boom and boom plus, the device named d10 did not appeal to me at all, I gave up jbl and bose before buying soundcore, soundcore is really addictive in sound. I've worked with some very well-known and well-known studio monitors before. In professional music studios The most important difference in Soundcore is that the speaker is made of soundcore metal, not plastic or similar speaker material, and the secret of the timbre, clarity and vividness of the sound lies there, from the stability in the strong dynamic bass metal. And it's really light but when you hold it in your hand, you get quality for the price. I also looked at your update video, you are right, there is no difference ✌️ At first it seemed to me that the bass was a bit harsh, but you should not forget that the metal speaker will give you that timbre. Soundcore is excellent in terms of price and quality Very useful for me, I can attach both models to my bicycle and offroad Rain or mud, it doesn't matter, I was caught in a storm in an open area, I didn't turn off the music, it was a morale booster against the storm, people asked if it wouldn't break, it was a challenge and it didn't break. It hit the ground from a height, never closed, tiny deformation, not even obvious, not less at 1.80m, maybe more Soundcore top ✌️✌️✌️
How is the bass, from soundcore motion plus?I have the tribit but the bass sounds over the top. It doesn't let me appreciate music. because there is a lot of bass, which in some songs gives me a stronger vibration in the background due to some bass melody. and from the side the bass sounds great but it sounds like it's in a box . I do not feel free the sound.
@@aleksmiscua.9568 Dude, let me explain to you like this, I even listened to the tests with soundcore, soundcore is very high quality in terms of bass, as if a subwoofer is on next to it and does not disturb other sounds, I also use it while watching movies, I have an old sony 5.1 dolby digital surround sound system, although it is not as surround as soundcore, but understand what I mean, satisfying sound satisfying I only listened to Tribit in tests and it sounded muffled to me, bass war but overly dynamic probably because the frequency modulation is not consistent In terms of Fiat, some things may be missing, some things may be controversial, but not in terms of sound. Considering the robustness, price and sound quality, it meets my needs, I can't ask it to sweep the floor 🤣
@@deepdrasticvid I plan to buy a motion boom Plus. because the tribit has too much bass, and it doesn't let me enjoy some songs. the sound of the Tribit is very good, but the bass is the problem. There is a background sound that won't let me. It's like a vibration that makes the walls rumble. And it makes the bass hit dull. And I'm between the soundcore motion boom Plus and mifa wildbox . I hope the translation has helped me 😅 By the way. I listen to the tribit from a room.
one knock against the Tribit, besides that it weighs 15+ lbs, is that you can’t fully turn off the lighting effects. when you turn off the light function, it still comes on when you turn the volume up and down.
Tribit should've remove those lights and put a bit more expensive tweeters because i think those tweeters right now are cheap that's why it has those 6khz dip.
@@alanrossreviews true, i will try it. Or update for both to open 50Hz. But it isn't much possible. I'm angry that it had only 25W mid-woofers, not 30W like photos...
@@alanrossreviews it's idea what i have too. With neodyms magnets it has 30W musical meybe (or something like effective). 25W can be only max load. But 30W on paper...

I measure by Samsung galaxy s10 SPECTROID APP, it isnt extra acurate, but it makes better bass than small Motion+. Probably not as good like BLAST, but its excellent for me, many details. BTW lattest update
I have all three of these and you are spot on. But you can karaoke 🎤 the w-king D10 because the microphone works well. LOL Love you reviews and how technical you break them down you help me understand the sound better. Thank you!
Alan have you ever had an issue with your W-King x 10 speaker?I have had an issue with my W-King x 10-1 speaker,at times it as a buzzing sound coming from it and I am not sure if it is my Surfans Mp3 player that causes the problem or if it is an issue with my W-King x 10-1 speaker
Great video! I've all those speakers, for my taste the best output indoor at 60% volume or outdoor at 100% volume is a couple of motion boom classic, incredible bass at 50% indoor, fantastic loudness in tws, very light, but the main advantage is Soundstage, beautiful dispersion
@@alanrossreviews they are difficult to place compared to a motion boom and I think 1 blast is the limit of the concept of portable speaker. I Hope you will do that comparison as soon as possible ☺️
Do you think the soundcore will get another firmware update soon ,if so what do you think they're going to do,maybe sit tight? Will het the Tribit when in stock, but like you say,all depends on what genre you put through it.
Like i said previously Alan in my opinion the Motion Boom Plus as lost a lot of it's magic since unnecessary updates were done from day one.Where did you buy your Tribit speaker from?It does not seem Amazon UK as it in stock at all
The current price on Amazon canada for the D10 was too much for me to resist (basically $75USD) so I ordered it yesterday. I'll give my D8 to somebody and the D10 will be my "boom box" for the time being. I'm actually kinda impressed by how well the D10 comes off in this comparison. The Tribit definitely sounds better, but at less than half the price I don't think the D10 does that poorly and it seems almost neck and neck with the Motion plus (which really seems like a bit of a dud to me).
@@alanrossreviews Oh yeah no doubt it's a better unit. But I have a nice system at home here as well as a great headphone rig for my serious listening. Although, if the Tribit ever goes on for a similar price drop I might not be able to resist that either lol...
@@alanrossreviews OK, that's a bummer. I was about to buy the Tribit but now I'm back to weighing out the strengths and weaknesses. Personally, I like the SD card option because the struggle for phone memory is real, lots of photos and videos.
Awesome comparison! I love my motion boom x 2 in stereo. I really wish they had aux in so I could use one of them busking. Have you any suggestions for a good sounding light small speaker that can handle the sounds from my loopy pro iOS guitar setup. I wish they made a Bluetooth speaker that was also an audio interface
not sure what you call light given your end use, i would suggest a lot of the party type speakers would suit but i haven't tried many of them 😂 where do you busk?
@@alanrossreviews I’m working on a setup to start playing at markets, I have a bose s1 pa but it’s a bit large and only really use it at less than half the volume . Something like the motion boom would be perfect but it doesn’t have an aux in, I think the w-king in this video would work well
Just wanted to share test results after recent outdoor party: 1x Tribit Stormbox Blast vs 2x Motion Booms (not plus!) While Tribit is really a great listen at lower volumes in enclosed environment, in open/outdoor spaces the deep bass is really disappearing, and then the punch, stereo and max volume of 2x Motion Booms wins. This is in accordance to multiple people commenting and saying the same thing. After 15mins of testing, switching between the setups, we turned the Tribit off and continued with 2x Motion Booms at 100% vol. :) Given the ultralow weight and price of 2x Motion Booms - for outdoor party it's just a better choice than a single Tribit at max volume. And while I love the deep bass and always look for that in any speakers I buy, I will sadly have to return my Tribit as I can't imagine where it would fit for me. It's just not as portable to bring into a remote, outdoor location and even then, 2x Motion Booms are providing better sound experience thanks to the wider stage and they go louder. I can only imagine that 2x Tribits would own most of other setups, challenging easily a single Partybox, but then it would be 11 kg in weight and the cost factor! Ofc regular Booms don't produce any real deep bass, but they get people excited due to loudness and immersive stereo sound, and as people get more drunk and shuffle between songs they love, the louder it can get is the thing I guess, and small deep bass advantage is meaningless. ;) To conclude, I will keep 2x Motion Booms and perhaps wait for deals to get 2x Motion Booms Plus for outdoor parties enhancement, as per reviews they are designed to go loud, with all the benefits of maintaining portability. The price for set of 2x Motion Boom Plus would be like a second hand JBL Partybox 110, but you get less weight and a stereo effect which I guess could own even the Partybox :) If I wouldn't have an indoor stereo system, I'd probably keep Tribit and just listen to it on
thanks for that feedback, will be helpful to many. I really do not want to keep using the same tracks because quite honestly i find that boring. I want to get info out there but i also want to try and keep things fresh or i will be bored sh*tless 🤭
@@juliebernard9505 Hey Julie, Yes I have tested 2x Booms vs 2x Booms Plus. I must say that OUTDOORS the difference is too minor to compensate for higher price or size/weight. 2x Motion Booms are still the best way to go for small parties, both outdoors and indoors in my opinion. Go for 2x motion booms and to get best out of them in terms of boomy bass, just place them besides the wall or in the room corners to get additional volume. 2x Motion Booms will be better always vs a single 1x Motion Boom Plus. I don't use my speakers too often indoors, I have a stereo system for that, but outdoors it's either 2x Motion Booms, 2x Tribit Storbox Blast and then partybox 310 and higher :)
Thanks for the awesome eq settings Alan. I just got mine and I love the storm blast. It doesn't get quite as loud as the soundboks gen 3 or sound as good but damn the size tradeoff is worth it. Oddly mine is stuck in firmware 1.8. the only thing I wish they had on the blast is some hooks for straps like the motion boom plus has
You can't compare the Tribit with the soundboks 3, not om same class, but for indoor listning on moderate volumes i prefer the Tribit everytime, Soundbox is for outdoor or partyes 🙂
@@jann8490 yup. at the end of the day the tribit is far more useable for my needs. I don't think i've ever had a case where The soundboks made sense since I'm not throwing a party with 50 people out in a large field. I will say though listening outdoor at moderate volume the soundboks did still edge it out (assuming size/cost) wasn't a factor. But as you pointed out they aren't in the same categories. If anything it points out how good the tribit is to come very close.
After more time with mine, I've come to the conclusion that the The D10 is a harsh sibilant shriek-fest in EQ mode (bass boost off mode) above 1/2 volume, sometimes less. Casual listening at lower volumes is a boomy mess with muted treble in Default mode (bass boost mode on) at lower volumes. So you kinda have to pick one or the other. Below 1/2 volume at low casual levels with EQ mode on, or outdoor volume levels in Default mode to get enough mids and highs to not sound muted/muddy. I may eventually return mine for one of the other two, as I'd like more detail at lower volumes.
From my listening observation I have to say the Tribit Stormbox Blast sounds the best here followed by the Soundcore Motion Boom Plus and then W-King D10. IMO Blast has a fuller, more open and airy sound than rest of the speakers on the table but the upper mids felt quite grainy compared to the two other speakers here. Now the Boom Plus unusually have a very wide soundstage for a boombox but I have to say its more of pseudo surround rather an open sound. Last comes the D10 since its obviously my least favorite here and I have to say it sounds quite thin for a speaker which is aesthetically a boombox.
Woah after listening to the D10 at maximum volume I feel like it becomes more open than Boom Plus near these levels and I felt like the bass too was more impactful!
Nice! I got the Tribit story blast, and It's awesome. But man It's heavy. So I consider to buy the motion boom plus for a lighter option. But afther listen to this I think the W-king D10 is not mutch weaker than boom pluss, and for half the price, and it got a bigger battery to. Witch of the D10 or motion plus would you recomend for a second speaker for some lightweight listning when I already got the Tribit.
for outdoors the boom plus, indoors maybe a pair of d10s for same price? but if wildbox gets tws soon a pair of them would be great. even the motion boom as a pair for immersion is awesome.
I always wonder why nobody compares AAC-compatible Speakers like the Motion Boom+ connected to an iPhone (for the AAC usage) and compare that to Android. AFAIK some Android Phones can do AAC but it's sketchy and best used with Apple devices. On paper it should be a noticeable difference if you have AAC-encoded music like with Apple Music and it gets streamed without any secondary encoding "as is" to the speaker in contrast to whatever format and codec you have before and reencoding to SBC. I am very much interested in this topic. Btw. I head AAC has the least lag.
well it would require buying both brands apple/android so escalating the cost of running an already loss making channel like mine. i have mentioned this multiple times especially when aac only speakers like the uboom l will of course be flaky on android. to be honest, nobody seems bothered. for me personally my videos are long enough, im spending more than i should already on speakers, i tell everyone my recordings are via android and i dont have enough time to do everything i would like to as it is. maybe this is a question for a bigger channel than mine with a bigger budget and who work on youtube full time.
@@alanrossreviews Well thank you for the answer. I understand. I would never suggest you go buy an iPhone just for that test, but it was a possibility that you had one and maybe you already tested it and found no real difference.
Trust me, i have considered this but cant justify doubling testing time for now. For sure down the road i know there is a need to demonstrate the differences according to platform 👍👍
I watch all your videos on my smart tv.. so I cant really leave a comment.. but overall your doing a great job by far with all the comparison.. I'm mostly trying to figure out if I should buy the w king D10 or the tribit storm blast.. I love w king speakers but I also like the deep bass..
You should do a retro review on the altec Lansing imt800, in my opinion it's one of the best boom boxes ever made. If it was remade with the rechargeable batteries like these newer speakers it would be killing it.
@@alanrossreviews I meant to say put the same type of batteries that are in these newer portable speakers and make it portable. If this was done it would be a great contender for a portable rechargeable boombox with extended play time vs the D or C battery options.
Hey Allan I hit up Soundcore because they never got backed to me and I explained how a response would be nice and I said two of my colleagues have experienced similar problems about receiving offers from them to review and going ghost. Correct me if I'm wrong but you experience something similar to that and Soundcore wanted to know to address the issue so do you mind I mentioned your name?
so soundcore only ever sent me the one speaker, the boom plus. it was all fine corresponding about the speaker itself but after i actually received it then my emails did not get replies. also before this speaker all my emails were blanked too. Weirdly i just got another email from the guy i dealt with telling me he saw my video where i said people had sticking passive rads and he said he was sending me a new fixed boom plus even though i never aske for it. 😝
Great comparison. That's a pity that the D10 does not have an app to tune it even if in default mode it sounds good.. and it costs less then half the price of the tribit. I am wondering how a single W KING D10 can sound against two Anker Soundcore Boom (not plus). The WKNIG says to have 70W the Motion Boom (not plus..) has 30W so.. it looks like the WKING could sound louder then two Boom but I do not give too much credit to the claimed power.. What is your opinion?
forget watts, its so mis marketed to the point of being useless. two booms would destroy the d10. two booms would be like 120 watts not 60 watts. you double the power ANDD surface area.
While most emphasis is on how they sound at high volume , which one has the better clearer quality sound if at lower volume ? You know sometimes for example you might be out on the deck sitting around talking and you just want it at lower volumes
Agree with your conclusion. Stormbox is the clear winner - good sound, big buttons and I think I even like it's design better than the other 2 although all 3 look quite cheap. but again, too big for me, party people can have their fun.
Maybe it’s a dumb question but why does all the speakers have a different volume level? Wouldn’t that affect the bass and all that? Why not test at the same volume level? I’m assuming if the soundcore has to be played lower it must be louder than the other speakers. I ordered a soundcore and I can’t wait to hear it with my own ears.
@@alanrossreviewsbut wouldn’t volume levels affect the bass? For example if one speaker is at a higher volume it’ll be putting out more power to those speakers even tho the sound isn’t as loud due to speaker selection the company chooses. Soundcore maybe had to be at the same volume as the others with louder audio but the same bass and quality of sound, Or am I wrong? so the soundcore should be like super loud if that’s the case? I actually ordered the speaker for $136 shipped to my house. I couldn’t find a better reviewed speaker for the money. Thanks in advance. I’m a newbie with sound and appreciate the time UA-camrs take to make these videos.
im not sure if you read fully what i said. They are *NOT* at different volumes, they are different volume *STEPS* where their *loudness* *is* matched. so your comment is based on a false premise. imho reviews where volumes steps are matched and not actual volume is the wrong way to faily compare speakers.
@@alanrossreviews that’s why I asked what’s the reason behind the different levels to further understand the concept. I didn’t say what you did was wrong. Just trying to learn more about it. Thanks for the clarification
@@gabylon1992 yes i was trying to make it clearer the flaw in what you was thinking. i use volume matched, not volume steps matched which THEN would be different volumes.
The new champion of value for money is born and here to stay. The tribit goes pretty deep, so there is no longer a reason for the studio series to exist 🤯
I like both, but prefer a brighter sound than a deeper one it just sounds cleaner and nicer imho. So far, I only have the tritone and I like the sound very much, but I think it is a bit behind the bass and there is also something missing in the treble. I use your eq but change 6.4kHz in it. Im sure you could come up with some mod if protection is really important to you
With the current price points between these three, I'd still say the W-King comes out on top overall. I just ordered one, in fact.

Awesome review again, I think your conclusion is spot on. D10 is great for kids or when you want something small, light and not too expensive to carry around. Impressive for it's price. Blast is the best sounding, best looking, but big, heavy and most expensive, Boom Plus in the middle somewhere.
Yup that pretty much sums it up 👌
Best looking... debatable ^^

Thanks I really appreciate it.
which of the two has a bigger battery in volume 100%...so many hours last??
Alan, I used you eq settings and I am quite happy with it. Good smooth sound. I mean this is certainly not a $5K speaker arrangement. But for $200, the Tribit SBB has certainly exceeded my expectations.
Would you pay $20 more for blast?

No problem 😊
2 shower speakers sound ridiculous lol, I'd love an explanation
I’m keeping the storm and the D10. At first I was disappointed in the D 10 because I thought it wasn’t very loud. Today I just learned if I was at full volume on my phone I could still make it louder by pressing + the button on the speaker. None of the other speakers are like that. So I just assumed it was at full volume. Now I love this thing. Since it was only $100 I will use it as my portable speake & it charges by USB ! I will keep the storm at home or save it for parties. I can’t believe I’m returning the 2 Soundcore‘s but I do love those lights lol.
Does it need the volume uo button pressed on restart again for max volume?
@@alanrossreviews great question… I will try & report back. I was using an iPhone if that matters. Stay tuned.
When set eq via PowerAmp, I turn off Anker's eq settings by set all frequencies to 0.
thats your opinion, thats cool. we can have different opinions.
Yes, I agree with you about the eq settings. I also use poweramp, the eq turns my soundcore into a different beast.
Best comparison reviews on UA-cam. This guy is a bit cookie but actually a pleasant jester.

I agree. I put one on each end of the house in the back yard and my god, that sound stage lol.

Another masterclass video Alan!!! Stormbox did what we thought it would do, and manhandled both speakers. Motion Boom+ sounds a hell of alot better since getting rid of that 6kHZ peak (only negative is idk why they reduced the volume) W-King is impressive at loud volumes. Good value for what it’s intended purpose is.
they went with boosting relative bass and thus in last firmware reduced mids and highs so of course it cost volume 🤷♂️
@@alanrossreviews That’s true you did say that.
Could’ve been simpler just to reduce the peak in the first place, instead of doing all the other theatrics to get to this point. But what do I know 😁😁
or just dont add a 6khz peak in the first place 🤪
@@alanrossreviews Truth Alan!
Oluv probably told them to tune it with 6kHZ peak.

For the difference between MBP and Blast you can buy a big powerbank and have much more capacity than the Blast.
what you cannot do is get the deep bass of the blast from the boom plus. yes i updated firmware.
How did you get the firmware update to 2.0 at Tribit? It doesn't show up for me. For me the Tribit is the clear winner.

@@alanrossreviews sir, can you recommend anything that’s as good as the Brookstone big blue party? Thanks
Hey man, I really liked your tests.
I have soundcore motion boom and boom plus, the device named d10 did not appeal to me at all, I gave up jbl and bose before buying soundcore, soundcore is really addictive in sound.
I've worked with some very well-known and well-known studio monitors before.
In professional music studios
The most important difference in Soundcore is that the speaker is made of soundcore metal, not plastic or similar speaker material, and the secret of the timbre, clarity and vividness of the sound lies there, from the stability in the strong dynamic bass metal.
And it's really light but when you hold it in your hand, you get quality for the price.
I also looked at your update video, you are right, there is no difference ✌️ At first it seemed to me that the bass was a bit harsh, but you should not forget that the metal speaker will give you that timbre.
Soundcore is excellent in terms of price and quality
Very useful for me, I can attach both models to my bicycle and offroad
Rain or mud, it doesn't matter, I was caught in a storm in an open area, I didn't turn off the music, it was a morale booster against the storm, people asked if it wouldn't break, it was a challenge and it didn't break.
It hit the ground from a height, never closed, tiny deformation, not even obvious, not less at 1.80m, maybe more
Soundcore top ✌️✌️✌️
How is the bass, from soundcore motion plus?I have the tribit but the bass sounds over the top. It doesn't let me appreciate music. because there is a lot of bass, which in some songs gives me a stronger vibration in the background due to some bass melody. and from the side the bass sounds great but it sounds like it's in a box . I do not feel free the sound.
@@aleksmiscua.9568 Dude, let me explain to you like this, I even listened to the tests with soundcore, soundcore is very high quality in terms of bass, as if a subwoofer is on next to it and does not disturb other sounds, I also use it while watching movies, I have an old sony 5.1 dolby digital surround sound system, although it is not as surround as soundcore, but understand what I mean, satisfying sound satisfying
I only listened to Tribit in tests and it sounded muffled to me, bass war but overly dynamic probably because the frequency modulation is not consistent
In terms of Fiat, some things may be missing, some things may be controversial, but not in terms of sound.
I hope the translation has helped me 😅
By the way. I listen to the tribit from a room.
To quote a famous Brit: I want it all, and I want it now.
And why not 👌
one knock against the Tribit, besides that it weighs 15+ lbs, is that you can’t fully turn off the lighting effects. when you turn off the light function, it still comes on when you turn the volume up and down.

The Tribit definitely sounds better, but at less than half the price I don't think the D10 does that poorly and it seems almost neck and neck with the Motion plus (which really seems like a bit of a dud to me).
but the blast can be eqd to actually sound a decent neutral speaker, so it covers all bases, proper boombox or even some delicate listening
@@alanrossreviews Oh yeah no doubt it's a better unit. But I have a nice system at home here as well as a great headphone rig for my serious listening. Although, if the Tribit ever goes on for a similar price drop I might not be able to resist that either lol...

Good job! Testing MIFA T520 !!!
The D10 is on sale for Black Friday on Amazon for $54
Just wanted to share test results after recent outdoor party:
1x Tribit Stormbox Blast vs 2x Motion Booms (not plus!)
While Tribit is really a great listen at lower volumes in enclosed environment, in open/outdoor spaces the deep bass is really disappearing, and then the punch, stereo and max volume of 2x Motion Booms wins. This is in accordance to multiple people commenting and saying the same thing. After 15mins of testing, switching between the setups, we turned the Tribit off and continued with 2x Motion Booms at 100% vol. :)
Given the ultralow weight and price of 2x Motion Booms - for outdoor party it's just a better choice than a single Tribit at max volume.
Ofc regular Booms don't produce any real deep bass, but they get people excited due to loudness and immersive stereo sound, and as people get more drunk and shuffle between songs they love, the louder it can get is the thing I guess, and small deep bass advantage is meaningless. ;)
To conclude, I will keep 2x Motion Booms and perhaps wait for deals to get 2x Motion Booms Plus for outdoor parties enhancement, as per reviews they are designed to go loud, with all the benefits of maintaining portability. The price for set of 2x Motion Boom Plus would be like a second hand JBL Partybox 110, but you get less weight and a stereo effect which I guess could own even the Partybox :)
If I wouldn't have an indoor stereo system, I'd probably keep Tribit and just listen to it on
thanks for that feedback, will be helpful to many. I really do not want to keep using the same tracks because quite honestly i find that boring. I want to get info out there but i also want to try and keep things fresh or i will be bored sh*tless 🤭
@@alanrossreviews Understood, it's your show! :)
😊
Oddly mine is stuck in firmware 1.8. the only thing I wish they had on the blast is some hooks for straps like the motion boom plus has
yup there is always something lacking in every speaker 😫
D10 is so good.
well i wouldnt go that far 😲
@@alanrossreviews hmm 🤔👍
Yeah most of the wking range is tuned and priced for the school playground, not for serious listening
Last comes the D10 since its obviously my least favorite here and I have to say it sounds quite thin for a speaker which is aesthetically a boombox.
yeah i dont think you can find better value now than the blast
Woah after listening to the D10 at maximum volume I feel like it becomes more open than Boom Plus near these levels and I felt like the bass too was more impactful!
yes agreed, it was a shock to me how it stood up at max

AAC over BT that is. They all can play AAC at all of course, but they will reencode it to SBC when transmitting over bluetooth.
well it would require buying both brands apple/android so escalating the cost of running an already loss making channel like mine. i have mentioned this multiple times especially when aac only speakers like the uboom l will of course be flaky on android. to be honest, nobody seems bothered. for me personally my videos are long enough, im spending more than i should already on speakers, i tell everyone my recordings are via android and i dont have enough time to do everything i would like to as it is. maybe this is a question for a bigger channel than mine with a bigger budget and who work on youtube full time.
@@alanrossreviews I would be thrilled! Subbed!
Hey Alan, Can you make review the W-King D20 Bluetooth speaker!.
i asked them for a unit they didnt want to send.
I watch all your videos on my smart tv.. so I cant really leave a comment.. but overall your doing a great job by far with all the comparison.. I'm mostly trying to figure out if I should buy the w king D10 or the tribit storm blast.. I love w king speakers but I also like the deep bass..
Blast for great deep bass full sound. D10 for more upper bass more outdoor travel friendly
Okk ill order the tribit. Thank you bro.
Bought the blast directly from Tribit a few days ago for $176 in the US. There were only 15 units left so probably sold out now.
coupon?
Bargain
@@phrocasso5906 yea registered my email they sent me a 12% off coupon code
cool video, greeting from Colombia. Alan do you have any opinion about the Tronsmart Bang? it is the one that I can find in my country
nope sorry, not looked into that one.
@@alanrossreviews tell him you hate Tronstman😁
You should do a retro review on the altec Lansing imt800, in my opinion it's one of the best boom boxes ever made. If it was remade with the rechargeable batteries like these newer speakers it would be killing it.
It's an interesting one for sure but removable batteries? 🤔
@@alanrossreviews
I meant to say put the same type of batteries that are in these newer portable speakers and make it portable.
Got it
The wking t11 just dropped are you gonna review it?
I cant keep up with them all, not sure what im gonna do right now
Bought two motion booms soon as link together switch off???
@@alanrossreviews Many thanks!
Maybe do a price point comparison, I just picked up the W-King T11 for $170, that would be interesting.
I want alan to pair all speakers together for one video with maximum sound
Cant pair different brands
While most emphasis is on how they sound at high volume , which one has the better clearer quality sound if at lower volume ?
You know sometimes for example you might be out on the deck sitting around talking and you just want it at lower volumes
i would use the custom eq in the blast to reduce bass for lower volumes.
As always 👍
😛😛👍😁
Agree with your conclusion. Stormbox is the clear winner - good sound, big buttons and I think I even like it's design better than the other 2 although all 3 look quite cheap. but again, too big for me, party people can have their fun.
blast for me is my current fav
@@alanrossreviews rip motion boom 😬
Yes sirr Alan, I’m here 🏆
almost on time 🤭
Maybe it’s a dumb question but why does all the speakers have a different volume level? Wouldn’t that affect the bass and all that? Why not test at the same volume level? I’m assuming if the soundcore has to be played lower it must be louder than the other speakers. I ordered a soundcore and I can’t wait to hear it with my own ears.
Different volume same loudness. I am loudness matching them.
The tribit goes pretty deep, so there is no longer a reason for the studio series to exist 🤯
yes i think its the new reference for value
we can have the d10 for 92,81 euro, you think it is a good deal.?
its a fair price yes
You should try out the Braven XXL/2. It seems like a good budget option against the boombox 2.
Souncore motion Boom+ is great again 😍 comback my beloved souncore don't want to lose in the game again😍
🤞
I wonder if you took the motion boom plus speakers and put them on the tribit blast what it would sound like?🤔
you mean record the boom plus? you will get a bigger bottom end as it is boosted on the blast
@@alanrossreviews negative I mean switch the speaker drivers from the motion boom plus to the Tribit and see what that sounds like.
ah but you would have to switch out the passive rads too.
I like both, but prefer a brighter sound than a deeper one it just sounds cleaner and nicer imho. So far, I only have the tritone and I like the sound very much, but I think it is a bit behind the bass and there is also something missing in the treble. I use your eq but change 6.4kHz in it. I wonder how the tribit fared now, how the boombox 2 got the equalizer. Greetings 👍👍
there is no extra headroom on the bb2, just the ability to change overall sound signature below 80%, you still cant go past the old bass limit.
@@alanrossreviews if it looks like that, it is average 😕
its fun to mess with but no game changer
