I understand what David is talking about, Heineken out of the can is way smoother and doesn't have nearly as much skunky taste

I found Heineken to be pretty consistent, over the years. Been a couple years since i had it, though.
It's a winner, in my booklet.
The skunkiness is what always appealed to me about Rolling Rock and, of course Lord Chesterfield Ale from Yuengling, which I can't find here, and knew of only one place to find in Western Henrico west of RIchmond - a Walmart near me. But only from time to time. I wish to hell I could find some!
I've not run across much skunkiness, I have to say. I miss Heineken Dark.
Dave said same thing on the Budweiser mystery taste challenge "it doesn't taste like Budweiser, i can't taste the beechwood". Making excuses for getting it wrong and AB even says the beechwood does not impart any flavor. Still enjoy watching you guys but when you get it wrong, just man up ha ha
My long-time theory about the beechwood is that it makes the beer drier and the user thirsty for more! That's my conspiracy theory, or one of 'em.
Yeah, Beechwood is a neutral flavor, and the bleach it, too.

Jay this is my favorite beer. I drink this all day can or bottle I don't care. I like to try other beers but Heineken is my go to. Good review

I prefer the bottles over the cans gotta be ice cold tho and the 12 packs keep the beer hidden from the sun unlike the 6 packs great review love all of them hope you have a great weekend

If you’re used to drinking Heineken out of a bottle I can see how Dave’s perception would be different. This is one of the few exceptions, Heineken and Corona taste better to me out of a can than a bottle.

Heineken always has that fake hop flavor. They put hop extract in it. Still love it.
Hop extract isn't fake, but rather just not whole cone or pellets.
Interesting review. Something definitely seems off with that can. Heineken to me has a unique, skunky taste.
Lightstruck=skunky taste.
I can't explain it, because it's a fresh can.

I tired the bottle version and the can version. too me the can taste fresher then the bottle but seems the same to me
I don't think I've ever had the draft version.
Heineken might be my favorite pick up a tall can at the gas station beer. Had one last night and a Stella &far prefer this one over Stella which while OK is bottom barrel stuff by Euro standards. Heineken is not top tier stuff either but i consider it superior to the popular & overrated Belgian brand

They changed from Hallertau hops to Saaz, maube that is the diff you noticed

heineken is easily the most overpriced, overhyped, bland extract lager. i honestly dont believe a single soul that says it tastes better over "there". its no better than a st. pauli girl.
I pretty much never buy it.
To me Heniken tastes like hay but in a good way. Kinda like when you can smell it at a harvest festival or something
