hi all!
we’re trying to build something new. based in curiosity, no matter the subject.
through both professional and citizen journalism we want to go down every rabbit hole we can find. our hope is that you feel invited to be a part of it.
thanks for being here!
❤
Keep it up!
Glad I just found your Simpsons video so that I get to watch every future video you upload!
Loving your videos! Like even your sponsor portion is even entertaining and I don't skip ahead! Gimme more!!!!
Count me in. I went down the sand rabbit hole a few years back. Glitter was a new one. I could see Kim Jong Un and Putin having massive glitter parties launching rockets… George W. on the guest list.
I was convinced this video had millions of views and was posted by a big channel until I realized it wasn’t as popular yet! I have no doubt that if you guys continue with the great content you will become even more successful
Same here, just had the same experience
Yea I just found this channel I've seen a couple pretty cool vids. I may subscribe
YESSSSSSSSS THISSSSSSS!!!!
They won’t grow much with one video each 3 months but they have some videos over millions views
@@koatherr YAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
If anyone is curious about sand production there is a glass recycling initiative in New Orleans that recycles glass into many types of sand for their community. It's called Glass Half Full NOLA.
YEA NOLA HOW MANY TIMES MUST IT BE SAID NOLA lol jk idk anything going on rn
A lot of this can’t be fully recycled in the way you’re thinking.
Let’s make an example: the sand used for clothing will be recycled for other clothes, but that redistribution won’t be sent to other areas, like concrete or computer chips.
And then vis versa with all the other industries and applications of sand. It won’t be seen or felt for clothing.
It’s kinda futile to recycle sand really, the best bet is to get rid of our dependency entirely.
For instance, there’s lots of awareness to recycle glass bottles into new glass bottles. So people will be actively doing that instead of this particular initiative to redistribute it for other things.
Just found this channel from the Glitter video being suggested. Watched all 3 of their pieces back to back to back. This particular story should have so many more views. I was already aware of this situation and it’s crazy how few people not only don’t know of it’s existence, but that many wouldn’t even think twice about it being a problem if they’re told about it.
They should track the sand with glitter

I've been binging all CHUPPL's videos today. I haven't seen such amazing production, research/investigation, editing, and all around phenomenal documentaries on YT in eons. These are top notch quality! Looking forward to more great content! ✌💛
In Western Australia I swear a lot of areas with sand have beach "construction" ie pathways and "beach restoration" as an excuse to remove ridiculous amounts of our amazing white beach sand. The beaches are continuously disappearing, it's depressing.
My cousin had a undeveloped property bordering the beach in southern Western Australia and over a period of 3 years the whole beach disappeared right up to the treeline. He set up motion cameras and caught footage of trucks being loaded with all the sand.
He contacted council and was told it was authorised, despite nothing on record regarding development of public land. Local council obviously in on it, but the bribe money isn't going towards government funds but into politicians pockets.
😳
People like your brother and the individuals in this video can put a unwelcoming spotlight on this subject.
You should watch friendly jordies
Watch out for your brother. If he’s not protected (ie very popular and/or has money for good security) he might get in trouble. Look what happened to friendlyjordies. 😢
Doubt it. You coukd have just sent that to ACA and they would have got blasted. No local council has the power to sweep national news under the rug
I’m Australian and I was thinking about how much sand we have, and realised we could be selling it without people even realising. Then Mia said we were selling it to Dubai and it makes SENSE
isn't it wild!!?
We sell it to more than Dubai too. Australia has very high-grade silica sand, so it gets mined and sold to a lot of Asia for glass used in tech (phones, computers, solar panels, etc)
And camels
@@SimplyGeeinteresting, is it easy to mine as well or is there a high economic cost for such mining?
@@THE_MOONMANeasy to mine but very environmentally damaging and it leaves lasting scars on the landscape, as could be seen in the video
I've been smuggling sand in my shoes for YEARS!
😂
Curly hair guy never disappoint
He is 2 for 2 so far no cap
Mia is really funny and smart too
I love when Kurtis Conner makes a new channel 🤘🥳
His name is Jack

as a singaporean, this was a really eye-opening video! people here know that singapore imports sand to reclaim land, but to that extent? it was a surprise to me
What an insane rabbit hole to follow truly taking sand for granted. Such an amazing video
Happens all the time in Jamaica. Weird part is im Jamaican and know who stole the sand there.
At the same time many cartel owned hotels were being build that had no beaches…
Great video. It was ended a bit awkwardly there but ignoring that just about everything with this video was perfect. You guys must have spent forever editing this and I can happily say it paid off
I worship this type of content and journalism
Perfectly edited, perfectly narrated, so interesting as well!! Thank you
Why did it stop so abruptly? 😢 anyways i can see that you guys are going places as long as you keep putting in this much effort on every video
OMG - I assumed that the organized crime sand-supply subplot in the final season of _Barry_ was just a humorous invention for the show!
exactly what i came here to comment!!!
Everyone on the island knew we would never get to the bottom of that beach being stolen overnight. It's eye opening to now know it's not just happening here
So well made and SO FUN TO WATCH! Another slay from chuppl 💅
Dude this editing is so good. I'm so pumped about this channel.
after this video i went search about this here in my country, and omg, Brazil might be the worst in this cases, and no one is arrested...
Goddamnit Brazil why must you always be number 1? 😂 First murder, now sand theft?
Amazing editing style, this reminds me of the taxi mafia in South Africa.
Keep up the good work ❤
the WHAT?
@@chuppl lmaooo, in a video I watched a while ago they explain how there is a whole mafia for taxis in south africa, there is targeted assassinations, hit men to “get rid of” targets such as drivers or even passengers. Could make a great video topic!
@@chupplI've used South African taxis since childhood. Would love to be a correspondent
ok im curious.... how do you steal a beach 👀
these basketball fans literally scoop it by hand 👏🏿 🏀 ⛱️

I love your teams ambition. This was a ton to tackle in a 20 minute video, and I think you were able to weave a narrative together despite the variety of themes and subject matter. I do have a few gripes with the video (not that they matter since I’m the one sitting on my ass listening to your teams work, and I don’t make videos) but I think the extremely high production values make up for just about any issue I had. Keep at it! If you keep developing this style and honing your craft, you can definitely be among the best creators on the platform, and I don’t say that lightly
This video feels like a podcast in the best way
This video is insanely high quality! Amazing job, I will definitely be coming back.
I'm so glad I discovered your channel, really well done videos, keep it up. Felt like you've been doing this for so long.
And he’s back ! Another masterpiece G , youre onto something with these type of videos
DUDE i need more of your content, you do the research that i used to love doing but no longer have the time! This makes me so happy i can't wait to see more!
This is outstanding. So glad to be here for the early videos. Fantastic channel.
All the sand is going in my sandbox so i can build sand castles
ohhhh
Its Ironically but definitely not weird that it's the crown cares more than the actual Jamaican government about something happening on the island
Because our government is 98% corrupted, look into our politics .
MMA fighter Francis Ngannu was born and raised in Cameroon and at an early age began working in the sand mines, shoveling sand. Essentially shoveling away at these huge towers of sand. When he became a young man and that job being one of very few he decided to try his luck elsewhere in the world and traveled to France where he was homeless, eventually acquainting himself with a boxing gym owner where he began to train and eventually stay in, then switching his new talent from boxing to mma and eventually getting into the largest organization and most notable, the UFC, becoming champion of the heavyweight division after only 4 years of knowing the sport existed. There are photos of him working the in the sand and his story is one of great inspiration, regardless if you are a fan on mixed martial arts.
Love this type of journalism! Keep it up!
I LOVE YALL! Need ur personal backstories too
Omg so sweet. Stick around and we will reveal more and more 😈
Love your storytelling style. Great editing and compelling topic-congrats on another success!
An incredibly well made video - from the narrative to the editing! Keep it up!
I would not have believed this except that I read few years back a crazy fact that Saudi Arabia imports sand...I thought WTF??? I turns out that desert sand is too fine...powdery...and it doesn't have a high compressive strength, or high tensile strength...It's weak...which is why beach sand is needed...beach sand is made from rocks ground down over years and years...but it is still course...making it more stable and stronger...but desert sand is like talcum powder...no building strength...
this was great keep making content like this your going far man incredible
Here from TikTok, such a fascinating topic! Thanks!!
This is my second video from you that I’ve watched and my god it is so well done!! I cannot believe y’all only have 3 videos, I’m excited to see where y’all head to
Man im so sad I've already watched your other 2 episodes already 😭 I need more! I can't wait for your next video, and to see what crazy thing you cover next. This channel is going to be so popular.
The team and these projects are great. I’m stoked you guys have all come together.
This needs worldwide attention
i’m so happy I found your channel. your videos are so high quality and I can’t wait to follow you for years to come!
been binging the videos on the channel, admittedly out of order, which is why I'm commenting here. Love the whole mystery/internet mystery investigation style, and y'all manage to not be all "uwu creepy scary" with it like so many other channels. What a breath of fresh air, I appreciate it.
This channel deserves more recognition
I was expecting this to take off especially since it has now been a month. Crazy dude. This needs more engagement
the amount of research, editing & production behind these videos… is impeccable. keep up the great work, look forward to more videos!!
p/s: shout out from… singapore 😅

Just found your channel with your latest video and had to do a deep dive and watch all the others, 10/10 great editing and storytelling. Love the crew, keep it up, you're doing great work! ❤ from Italy

Mind blowing video about something we take for granted so much.I felt really ignorant not realising how much reliance we have on sand.Great research guys 👍
You guys are absolutely killing it with your research, presentation, & topic choices. This is seriously impressive journalism. Hope you guys continue to grow and learn more so you can be all you can be!
so glad to find this channel before millions of subscribers. talk about production value and effort!
The production value on this is awesome, you guys deserve so much credit
I love documentary style videos and you are quickly becoming my new favorite creator 🔥
This channel deserves so much more publicity
At first I was like this sounds weird, then I remembered there are people who have taken over the beaches in my home country and are digging up the sand like it is worth gold.
My country, Philippines has a LOT of islands with that sand. Probably these Mafia's have a hard time stealing it coz the corrupt government officials asks too much bribe😂
10/10 video, love the animations and reporting style
Incredible and original story. Bravo
Very glad I got in early here. This channel is going to blow up.
This is my new favorite UA-cam channel. This guy gives me Serial podcast vibes. I love it so much. I have my notification bell on!
This is very cool. I was aware that river sand was scarce but learned a lot from this. Nice work. Looking forward to your next vid.
very much looking forward to the future of this channel
This video was so well done! It reminds me of a study I just read on multinational aggregate corporations and their influence in politics and climate. Very scary but a good insight into capitalist politics!
Great videos. Already love what you guys are doing. Wish you much success so we can all enjoy more of your content 😁👌

On a serious note, top class investigation content as usual
Absolutely slept on video, bindging all your stuff. Keep up the good work guys ❤
I immediately sensed this channel would produce many quality contents. Subscribed.
It's important to note how badly River dredging impacts beaches. Here in the south Georgia coast there's pictures from the 30s of people being able to drive onto the beach. now it's a 15 ft wall of rocks because they dredged constantly for the port. Theres a resort that renourshes their beaches regularly, and it washes down and helps the public beach luckily. Nothings natural nowadays
Mr Mystery solving man, Love your work. Very cool topics and production. Keep up the Great Projects!
Awesome video! I want more maps & graphs in the video though.

This channel is gonna be huge at end of this year I swear

🔥so good!
this is an insane channel the quality to be so high kinda reminds me of vice videos
The best UA-cam channel I’ve watched in years.
how is this video so well made, with sponsors etc, but the channel only has sub 30K subs and the video has 17K views?
singaporean here, the sand issue and (shady) importation was part of our geography curriculum! didn’t expect the surprise mention in the video in relation to mafias of all things when i was binging ur channel 🤣
This channel is maddd underrated!
Yall are real journalists I love it
Top class journalism. Keep up the good work guys.
