hey but let me tell you everything is all conceptual so everything is technically a cult, but we just need to concentrate all ideas into one understanding, one love, one world peace, using the internet as a tool to fight disinformation. perhaps casually suggesting this in a video may have drastic consequences on the world and help fight all misinformation by informing so many that delusion is all around us because we all come from different backgrounds, so technically everyone is a hypocrite at any point in life if they've learned anything at all so labels don't do us any good and are really just classifications for understanding reality. To call someone a hypocrite you must be a hypocrite yourself and recognize the hypocricy in any label. All things are natural, artificial is the construct of our imagination where we seperated ourselves from the natural world in our own individual savior complexes.

To be fair, all of these anecdotal examples can be matched with equal or worse examples of medical malpractice.
More people die every year from medical malpractice than car accidents and wars... combined.
If there is a chiropractic cult, then there is a medical cult as well. Pharmaceuticals have a very curious history too, much of it fueled by lobbyists and profit seeking motives and corruption.
We have all been a witness to the pharmaceutical cult that swept the world and recommended treatments that did not do what they claimed and made you more likely to become ill. Despite the evidence, these products continue to be pushed onto the people by captured officials in the medical field and governments.

we need to invest in education so this doesn't happen. The problem with stuff like IBS is that it stems from stress or other emotional blocks, mind body and soul. many people believe the mind is the rationalizing part, but it's the emotions and microgut/heart that regulate emotions, thus thoughts, thus your mind. This is why chiropractics sometimes works for body blocks of emotional trauma, if your emotional trauma is mental and has to do with just your self awareness then therapy can help, but that's a very limited occasion for most.

I have a severe, rare spinal malformation and one of my earliest memories of the medical industry is my childhood spine doctor sitting me and my family down and explaining to us in no uncertain terms that I should never, ever walk (or roll) through a chiropractor’s door, because they will promise miracles, but with my anatomy I would be more likely to be paralyzed or even killed. Dude probably saved my life.

I had a very similar experience. Every Neurologist and Neurosurgeon has warned me to never let a chiropractor touch me. My mother took my health very seriously, and actually had to fight to get my diagnoses, because what is wrong with me (at the time) was very poorly understood, and not many doctors even knew what it was, much less effective treatments for said illness.
Because of how hard we had to fight to even get a diagnosis, my parents considered alternative treatments. We did end up going to a chiropractor, but my mother offered herself up as a test, because my issue is unfortunately partially genetic, and she had bowel issues because of it for a few weeks. It makes me sick to think about what happened to her, and how she put herself in danger for me like that. Even the intelligent can be fooled by quackery if not given the time of day for long enough, and desperation starts to set in.

I went to the chiropractor in 2018/19 for really bad lower and upper back pain and a twisty ribcage. I was told I had scoliosis, and I believed it until I was 21 (2021). £50 per week, so £200 per month. I eventually saw a physiotherapist for a second opinion and they said I’ve never had scoliosis. The reason for my back pain is that one leg is shorter than the other so my hips are not balanced and my ribcage compensates. You could literally see it in the way I stood! I was given a little block to put in my shoes and my back pains gradually got less and less. Yes, the back cracks were satisfying but did nothing.

I had to go to the ER, and they had to do a Discectomy, where the surgeon had to remove my broken disc and put in a plate with screws into my spine. For 1 year I had to use catheters just to urinate and I had bowel movements about 1 every 5 days for 3 years and couldn't get an erection for over 2 years. I had spinal nerve damage that took about 8 years to get most of my feeling back. But thank God, I am finally almost back to normalcy. If you want professional advice for exercises, go to a physiotherapist. IF your body is so bad that it actually needs "adjustment", that's called surgery.

Now if accidents caused by chiropractors were a reason to end them, then what should be said by the whole medical business with mistreatments, misdiagnosis, deaths and the prescription of medicines that prove to be often, unhelpful to deadly. It's less common than chiropractic injury, but my sister in law was forced by workman's comp to do physical therapy and it permanently worsened her neck pain from a work injury. But then a week later the pain would return and he'd go back again. He must have spent a fortune on chiropractic treatments. I suggested he saw a doctor but he was convinced he was getting the treatment he needed.
Then one day he got a pain in his side so took time off work to see his chiropractor and came back saying he was now feeling better. The same thing happened the next day. I suggested seeing a doctor, but he went back to the chiropractor. The following day at work he collapsed in agony so I called an ambulance. He was taken into surgery and his appendix, that the surgeon described as ruptured and gangrenous, was removed. A few days later back at work he told us how he was going to sue the hospital because his chiropractor told him they didn't need to be cut open and bits taken out, all he had needed was another manipulation of his spine. I told him his chiropractor was definitely manipulating him!

I would ask her a bunch of questions about why I feel worse and why I was having many seizures because I'm pretty sure I had at least three that ended with my body shaking. She said no pain no game! IDK but that doesn't sit well with me and I went to her because other doctors were being dismissive and that I just have anxiety when my physical pain is causing me anxiety attacks. It's been nearly a week since I went to the chiropractor and I still feel sore in the areas where they adjusted me! Although my back does feel better, my neck feels way worse. They did do X-rays which I do have a neck injury due to putting something together but my doctor told me that they should have requested an MRI before they adjusted me the same day. My doctor told me whatever you do, do not go back, get an MRI or go to an orthopedic doctor or a neurosurgeon or even physical therapy might be a better option but he said even before I do physical therapy I need to know what type of injury I have because he does believe dad I probably have injured my disc on my neck and have some nerve damage. He said do not put any pressure on it and he also said that just one wrong adjustment could further injure me. I couldn't see my doctor for a couple months because he was booked. But I'm glad I saw him today and my family was trying to tell me to give it more chances but we should all know when something is not working for us. As they say, not one size fits all! I also saw videos and articles where people have been injured or even died from going to a chiropractor.... but yet it seems like they like to cover it up and Gaslight you into thinking that that doesn't happen and that it is just a rare case because they must have had other things going on! I hate to be the one with a hot take, but I do support the practice of Chiropracy from first hand experience.
But very conditionally. Let me explain:
The chiropractor I saw was recommended by my general practitioner, was covered by my state's Medicaid (AHCCCS in this case), and it helped resolve back pain from a spinal injury that PT and two surgeries failed to rectify.
And the reasons why are rather obvious.
My chiropractor requested my medical records, studied them at length, requested my doctor get two additional x-rays for him, and THEN he started working on me.
When he did, he made a simple statement: "At maximum, I want to see you for six sessions. If you need to see me more than that, your problem is unfixable by this approach, do you understand?"
He then went on to explain that all chiropracy is is the TEMPORARY shifting of elements of the human skeleton so they no longer pinch nerves/nerve fibers and cause pain that prevent recovery.
It can't unto nerve damage. It can't turn back time on an injury, and it can't magically fix a damaged shoulder, back or hip.
Its purpose is to provide enough relief so a patient can do meaningful PT on their own to rectify the situation CAUSING the problem before it reasserts itself.
ANY "adjustment" without PT on the part of the patient will invariably revert back to the state they were originally in.
If "I" wasn't prepared to do the exercises I could do with the pain removed to fix my back (which based on my records he predicted 4-6 sessions maximum to rectify)...I was told to please leave his office.
He wasn't interested in making an addict for his practice.
Sure enough, by the fifth session the muscles and ligaments in my back had built up enough that qhile I still had some pain, it was almost nonexistent. I didn't need to see him for the sixth.
Temporary nerve relief to facilitate Physical/Occupational Therapy. THIS is the one truly legitamite application of this practice. And even within this limited scope, a practitioner should be educated to a degree that other medical professionals trust their judgement, M.D. or not.
I won't lie, I got VERY lucky with my experience, but I feel it's important to let others know the SCIENCE is real; it's just treated like a panacea and peddled by snake oil salesmen so often that it's been buried in lies.

I think this comment and hits the right points but still points out issues with chiropractic care as a whole because nobody knows what they are talking about. Chiropractors do not move your skeletal structure AT ALL. All the work they do is muscular and if your skeletal elements are moving it’s because… well everything in your body is obviously attached.
If going to a chiropractor will fix your problem or pain, the problem is something you can fix yourself, but aren’t doing because it hurts or you lack the muscular utilization or stimulation. A chiropractor is just going to force your body to move whether it hurts or not, and going to a Chiropractor is a lot like choosing to lay on the ground and have people move your body for you as a warm up before exercising.
The moment you think Chiropractors are unique and doing something special for you that you can’t do yourself, you risk having the problem come right back because you aren’t continuing to utilize or exercise the muscles they stimulated.
I’m not saying all chiropractic care is useless. I mean, you can massage yourself but it’s a lot more relaxing to have someone do it for you, and chiropractic care can at least be a good jumpstart to solving the problems you are facing yourself, but if you have a SKELETAL issue, then ironically chiropractic care cannot help you and risks injury or trauma. Forcing the body to move is great until you force it to move in a way it shouldn’t.

This was my first visit to the place, it was just the consultation. I was 15. They also had an empty 5 gallon water cooler jug that they were filling up with their patients old prescription medications that they didn’t need anymore because getting adjustments cured them. Agreed, I think chiropractic therapy would be kinda fun to do one time and feel like how you crack your own back right? But if you think about the mechanics of it, it’s literally just cracking your bones by popping the synovial fluid bubbles in your joints. So I think the best way to convince people that it doesn’t work is to just slowly go through the mechanics of how it works. It’s literally just popping fluid found in your joints to make a satisfying sound. How would it cure depression? Unless they reached into your skull and cracked your brain, that wouldn’t do anything.
Hopefully your mom doesn’t believe that nonsense at all anymore, I mean cmon man, if they said it could fix certain joint or heck even muscle pain? I would be more convinced. But as soon as they start saying cracking your joints could cure depression, acne, or things that aren’t related to your bones and the connecting tissue then it’s just nonsense.

Edit: holy shit… was not trying to start a war about how spine surgery is the greatest thing of all time. ALSO for those saying “what about spinal surgeries that cripple people” When you go into a surgery like that, you’re informed of the risks. And you know the purpose/ rewards of the operation. One day, I was passing by one of those lecture halls and heard the lecturer (I don't know if it was a professor or a guest lecturer) telling the assembled students that diseases cannot come from bacteria, and I quote, "because your body is full of bacteria and if they could make you sick you would be sick all the time"). I didn't stick around to hear all of the statement that followed, though I vaguely remember them acknowledging viruses as a "possible vector for disease".

Love seeing videos like this. My grandfather is a retired rheumatologist (so, a joints-muscles-'n'-skeleton doctor), and he's made it clear for years that chiropractors are peddling BS. Apparently that's not a super popular opinion, since I've gotten pushback from friends and acquaintances when I tell them I'm not willing to go to a chiropractor.
But honestly, I feel like you shouldn't need a doctor to tell you it's BS. There's a chiropractic office near me that lists all the things it "treats," and it's very, uh, revealing. Here are some of the things that this chiropractor claims they can "fix" by yanking on your spine:
    - chronic pain (par for the course)
    - headaches (hmmm)
    - hearing impairments (what)
    - autoimmune diseases (HOW)
    - depression (girl WHAT)
    - ADHD (???)
    - autism (?????)
    etc.
I don't know how anyone can read this shit listed out and not immediately smell BS. Anything that claims to cure everything will probably just cure you of hyperfinancism (a.k.a. having too much money in your bank account).

the only thing on that list i can slightly see as a little valid is the depression part, but even then its not because of the cracking, its the massaging, slight tension relief, and more personal physical contact thats calming them down a little, they could just go to a massage therapist if its something that actually calms them down and makes them feel better!!!!!!

I have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (formally diagnosed by a rheumatologist), which causes a lot of actual subluxations and even full dislocations. Like, my wrist will come apart turning a doorknob. I've seen a PT weekly for years now, and do a bunch of exercises every day to stay conditioned and learn how to use my muscles to compensate for having stretchy ligaments. I've learned to crack every joint in my body, since it's one of the few things that brings me relief. I even have mild craniocervical instability, which is close to the concept of "vertebral subluxations" that chiropractic is supposed to be based on. However, chiropractic is useless for me, because my joints will just fall apart again, and extremely dangerous because of my hypermobility. All this is to say, there are real conditions like EDS that cause genuine chronic subluxations, and they suck to live with, but they're not chiropractic pseudoscience.

The required education (indoctrination) meeting you had to attend had all sorts of what chiropractic would cure. But. . . You will need to be coming back again and again. Not all are bad, but all but one I encountered were shams. The good one had physical therapists and a physical therapy area where you were shown what exercises you needed to do. Unfortunately, he had an intern who educated him all about marketing and basically making money doing barely any work. He did a 180 turn in his practices. Gone was the physical therapy and hours were drastically cut. You now needed separate appointments for evaluation, treatment plan, and then treatment. Heck, 3 appointments that you will need to pay for an office visit. The straw that broke the camel's back was when he tricked me and 10 other long-time clients into coming for an education (indoctrination) group session. Everyone in the room was seething. Talking amongst ourselves when he left the room, we all, including me, thought we had an appointment for treatment. None of us were returning. His treatment using adjustments and physical therapy had helped, and he rarely 'cracked' anything, using a more gentle method.

This applies to a ton of things, completely wild alternative medicines have a good track record of being normalized and in one case actually becoming a form of licensed medical doctor, as long as they drop most of their more radical claims and claim exclusively to apply to things people go to physio for, in American medicine. Most Chiropractics do not actually believe this entire alternative medical system...but everything that informs their practice draws from that same model. Much like most DO doctors do not believe in the entire alternative medical system behind osteopathy and only took one class related to it...but basically all of them think the massage-esque part of it is legit for back and muscle pain. And those are actual doctors that can perform brain surgery.
The problem is that in America, the difference in cost between actual medical care and literally anything else is so vast that a ton of people get sucked into these semi-snakeoil alternative medical systems to the point that it's easier for western medicine to just quietly endorse some of the least actively harmful get legitimized rather than have them actively trying to convince their adherents to not trust doctors or vaccines. And because something is normalized in America, it tends to get normalized elsewhere even when medical care is infinitely more accessible.

I normally get bad, sometimes debilitated tension headaches once to twice a week, operating on excedrin. When I go to the chiropractor once every couple of weeks, I’ll get a tension headache maybe once every couple of months. So I either live with having to take a drug to stop the pain - a symptom, or I can get adjustments that address the issue - the cause of the symptom. Why attack the symptom when you can take care of the problem?

To anyone who has been hurt, scammed, or otherwise harmed by a chiropractor: it was not your fault. *it was not your fault.* Chiropractic is so often my presented as medicine. Chiropractors are good at making themselves seem legitimate and marketing themselves as healers. With hindsight, it’s easy to look back and see the holes and red flags. It is not your fault if you missed, overlooked, ignored, or whatever word you want to use, them. You shouldn’t have to be looking out for red flags when seeking medical treatment.
I don’t know what you went through, but I’m guessing that you probably had/have some type of long term problem that was ignored and/or treatment wasn’t working. I’ve been there. I know the desperation, the fear, and the resignation. I know the feeling when someone finally believes you, when they take you seriously, when they say they can help you. It’s easy to ignore red flags and dismiss concerns when this person/people are listening.
What happened wasn’t your fault. I hope you’re doing better now. Remember to take your meds, drink water, and get some sleep. ❤️❤️❤️
EDIT, because some of y’all did not get the fucking point of this comment: I’m talking about medical trauma. Something pretty common with trauma is to blame yourself for what happened. It’s never helpful to feel guilty about a traumatic experience. I was hoping to reassure anyone harmed by a chiropractor that they shouldn’t feel guilty for being harmed. It’s especially not helpful to say things along the lines of “well you could’ve googled if chiropractic is legit”. Technically it was possible but it’s a bit late for that now, and blaming someone for being harmed by another person they trusted isn’t fucking helpful.
Sure, you can say that one should live their life always looking out for red flags but you shouldn’t have to. Especially in medical settings where there is implicit trust.
Chiropractors target vulnerable people. I was 15 when I first saw a chiropractor. I had been dealing with unexplained pain since I was 8 and migraines that I was tools to treat with essential oils since I was 10. In the months leading up to seeing a chiropractor I was in so much pain and was so weak I could barely walk on my own. I struggled to grip a pencil and to type. I went to the ER multiple times and saw multiple specialists who all basically dismissed what was happening, either saying they didn’t know what was wrong or that it anxiety. So when I went to chiropractor that a friend of my mom recommended and they actually listened to me and took me seriously I wanted to believe them. I was skeptical of some of their practices but when the first “medical professional” took me seriously in 7 years I went along with it.
Unless you’ve been in that situation where you’re desperate for someone to believe you, you don’t know what it’s like. I don’t want to hear what you would’ve done because until you’re in that situation you don’t truly know.
If it seems like I’m angry here it’s because I am. If you dont have someone positive to say, if you’re just going to say we should’ve known better, just don’t comment. If you’re the type of person to see this comment and respond by blaming victims, fuck off. Just don’t comment, it’s that fucking easy.

You should ALWAYS look for red flags in ANY medical practice. Always seek a second opinion. There are doctors in any field that will try to convince you that you need to be on what they tell you, and it's a misdiagnosis. That's why we have malpractice laws. It happens a lot in the medical community.

    Physical therapist here chiming in!
I really dug this mini doc 👌
If we are honest, there is a lot of quackery in both PT and Chiro. At the end of the day they both just give a person the license to practice therapy (with Chiro having WAY more legal wiggle room which causes trouble).
What makes the difference is if the professional follows an evidence based practice or a tool/gimmick type practice.
In PT school we also learn mobilizations/manipulations of joints. The difference is we are taught (and research shows) these are only useful initially after injury and in conjunction with rehab exercises. Also, only in specific circumstances.
A manipulation just changes how the body feels and percieves the manipulated area. The "crack" you hear is basically air releasing from the joint. This is great for temporary relief if pain/discomfort is present.
But to be honest, crack or no crack, the end result is the same if you do appropriate rehab exercises.
Other shams, or really non-useful modalities, include ultrasound, cupping, that wierd chiro hammer thing, KT tape (in 90% of contexts), scraping tools. Im sure there are plenty more I couldn't think of.
Most of these are either placebo or temporarily change a sensation the body is feeling thus altering pain signals.
Do these all look sexy? Yes, and great to market to customers. Are they useful beyond extremely rare circumstances? Nope!
In either case, if you go to see a PT or a Chiro only stay with them if graded exposure to load and exercise is the bread and butter treatment. If they try and convince you to do another modality make sure they can REALLY explain why before agreeing.
After all, YOU are the boss in your treatment. The healthcare professionals around you advise on your situation but you have the final call.
As a side note, traction and E-Stim/TENS are great for pain management and muscle re-education with certain injuries/patholgies. The only two techniques/modalties actually worth the time.
Ill step off my soap box now. 😅
I welcome constructive discussion friends, whether you agree or disagree.

I used to think that Chiropractors were just a specialty doctor for your back. So when I was having back problems, I went to a Chiropractor and the first appointment seemed fine. The adjustment thing made sense for my back because I do have low level scoliosis that makes my hips off balance very slightly, so maybe this would be all I needed to correct this slight problem I always had. They acted in a way that made it seem like they were real doctors.
Then they said to bring someone important to me when I came to the second appointment so that they can understand what is going on with me. I thought that made sense, so I brought my boyfriend at the time. They wheeled in one of those old tube TVs on a cart that played one of the weirdest videos I have ever seen. It basically made it clear that they were not only NOT doctors, but they were trying to convince us that we shouldn't go to real doctors. It was essentially an anti-medicine propoganda video. After that they did start trying to do the thing where I pay upfront for several sessions in advance. Everything about that second appointment made it very clear that my understanding of what a chiropractor is was very, very wrong.

Granted I still respect them a lot more than Chiros since their profession is based in real science. Always be your own advocate and do your own research on whatever medical issue you have.

@@blakehorton654I’m a university student and for a class we had to research certain non scientific medicine, like chiropractic therapy, types of massage, and etc.
I chose a massage but I also had to read about another things to choose which alternative medicine I wanted to do, and man. There’s not a lot of scientific evidence for a lot of alternative medicines. Like placebo is a real thing and it kinda works. But these things to manipulate your body by a masseur or a chiropractor don’t do much besides temporary relief.
And I’m not completely disregarding these alternatives medicines, but in all honesty, most of these things are temporary and a core problem needs to be addressed before any long term change happens. If you have back problems you may have core issues like an actual core issue. My friend has been medically diagnosed that she had just weak core muscles and had problems carrying a backpack to university. So she probably needs to do core strengthening exercises, like the suitcase carry and then leg raises. She also goes to chiropractic therapy and she said it’s kinda helpful. But it literally is cracking your joints and not addressing the real issue that she has weak core strength so her upper body can’t handle holding up a backpack.
The comment is anecdotal but there’s been research from actual scientists that you, yourself can go ahead and find and read that say that it may have temporary relief to individuals, but for long term results that make sure you no longer have problems, there’s be very little evidence as to whether it helps. And if you think about the mechanics of certain things like chiropractics then you realize it kinda makes sense that it wouldn’t work. -unlike a massage which could reduce inflammation, these people just press down on you and hyperextend your joints to pop the synovial fluid in your joints which creates that iconic popping sound in your knuckles or in the case of your spine a large amount of cracking is heard which if you think about, does nothing besides like when you crack your own back and it feels good for a little bit and then it wears off.

Absolutely worst pain I've ever experienced and I tried 3 months of physical therapy after thinking it'd go away after the first 2 months. The PT helped a lot but I'd still lose most sleep to shooting pain stabbing me awake multiple times a night. Then I went to a chiropractor who massaged me for an hour and cracked tf out of me - Pain gone instantly. I'd spent years saying the practice was pseudoscience and a waste of time and money, but it really saved me. Scams are scams, but I stand by at least one office out there.

I had a similar experience, its sad just how many of them ARE total quacks, but I spent my time, spent months looking into the different chiropractic "schools" and doing my best to discern which ones held.... Unreasonable beliefs and made unrealistic promises to those who took the most minimum approach possible and were honest enough to say "we will be able to help but we can't guarantee it'll go away %100"
after about 6 months of research and looking into practitioners, I found one and went in and spoke to him. Dude saved my life, and honestly it wasn't just what he did in terms of adjustments, but showing me modified yoga poses and stretches and told me that I should consider seeing him like seeing a dentist, but the stretches etc was me brushing my teeth and flossing. Ten years later, my sciatica will flare up every now and again, but I can always do the stretches he showed me and I'll be ok.
Looking back, physical therapy probably could have done the same, but, when I went to see my doctor, a licensed medical professional, his solution was "fork up 5k for a CT scan and IF we find anything, we will do surgery, cauterize the nerve." I honestly wonder WHY he didn't recommend physical therapy first.

When my prepaid block was over they had already lined up and scheduled in another block starting from scratch before discussing with me, expecting me to accept that 'my treatment is going to take longer than expected'. They also never answered questions directly. I asked them "What kind of excercises can I do to help improve things between my sessions?" Their only answer was always 'walking'. I asked them "how is the best way I should be sleeping". Her answer was "A healthy back should be able to sleep in any position without problem as long as your comfortable". Even I know thats not true. What they want is for your back NOT to improve so you keep coming back and popping your neck and do useless 'adjustments'.
They also frquently dodged questions like "why is chiropracty not on the NHS?"

I tried to have this conversation with my mom a few times. She has been going to chiropractor offices for chronic pain and general wellness since I was a little kid. In fact I had my back cracked a few times when I was a kid. When I had tension once it felt helpful, but other than that I usually felt worse afterwards. My mom thinks it's weird that I won't go to the chiropractor at all as an adult, but in reality I find that a lot of rest and listening to my body is more helpful than chiropractors have been. I don't have a problem with people wanting their back stretched and cracked, but I do have a problem with people using that as pseudoscience and taking it too far.
EDIT: The last line I said has people confused. I'm referring to the video where it talks about chiropractors making claims that a back crack will cure cancer. Chiropractors can manage pain but won't cure you, that's the important distinction. My mom has a similar reason for going to the chiropractor but I'm not going to say what the condition is. She used to do other things like yoga and hula hoops but it's gotten harder for her to do as she aged and the problem got worse. I think it's fine that she wants to go to the chiropractor, my whimpy delicate body won't handle it most days.

I know it's risky, but I haven't been able to get any help from MDs here in the US. If/when I can come up with $3500+ out-of-pocket, I can go to an in-person appointment with Dr. Gilete in Barcelona (EDS-aware expert neurosurgeon) to actually make a plan of care. Until then, I'll keep going to chiro when the migraines are intractable.

I agree but some people without connective tissue disorders can still have frequent subluxations. Typically if they've had a previous injury in the area(s)
People with down syndrome, including mosaic down syndrome, may also have frequent subluxations and dislocations. Mosaic down syndrome can look very similar to EDS and connective tissue disorders due to it's systemic symptoms (including cardiac and joint ones and symptoms that may look like autism) and the fact many people don't even know they have mosaic down syndrome until they have kids and the majority turn out to have down syndrome
So it's a bit more complex than "frequent subluxation = connective tissue disorder" but frequent subluxations are still a cause for concern regardless of if it's EDS, previous injury, down syndrome, "benign" joint hypermobility that turned out to not be HSD/EDS but still not harmless, or something else.

They've wound-back the claims they make in these sponsorships in recent years, but historically they have claimed that using a VPN would provide a level of safety that it had no impact on. Im an osteopath, a few summers ago i had an American patient come in, she was on holiday, she told me she sees a chiro every week.
I assessed and listened and she told me that her T4 vertebra was 'subluxated' and because of that she had a huge amount of problems in life, not just physical ones.
I did a thorough physical examination and honestly she was in great shape, moved and felt well in all ranges passive and active.
I did a treatment and she was moving normally. Gave her some exercises and told her to come back if needed.
I knew she wouldnt, because she thought i was useless because i didnt find the made up 'subluxation'
She was perfectly healthy but had been made to believe all her lifes problems came from one physical place, that could only be managed by her regular chiro visits.
She needed a psyche more than anything to help her find a way out of the brain washing.

Osteopaths have always been general manipulators and apply what can be called "shotgun manipulation." The purpose of osteopathy according to the original developer, Stills, is to increase blood circulation. You don't know about subluxations, even though they are discussed in the British Edition of Gray's Anatomy as existing because it was never part of your treatment model. You don't know how to palpate a spine or read an x-ray, use instrumentation or any of the means for locating a "subluxated" or dysfunctioning joint (they can be found electrically, too). In the U.S., after the advent of chiropractic, many osteopathic colleges converted to chiropractic colleges. The graduates from those schools were always the problem in chiropractic because they never learned how to diagnose and treat the spine segmentally. A general manipulation might feel good to most people, but it's a 50/50 proposition as to whether they will correct a provable biomechanical issue. This created a problem in chiropractic from the start and is the reason that you experienced a patient. As a third-generation DC (my grandfather was Henry Ford's only physician), I know when a DC has found the right spot, as will anyone who learns to palpate properly. During my 30-year career, I treated the general public, rock stars, and Olympic athletes. None of them ever call for an osteopath!
Failing to fully address your patient's complaints, you will issue an Rv. At least this is why osteopathy fell out of favor and ended up being folded into medical practices in the U.S. This is also why DCs have their own organizations and do not want to be under the auspice of the AMA. A slight revival has occurred but has not been very effective. I won't say that osteopathy is useless, but it's sloppy and imprecise. This si why DCs get better results and always have.

I say this as a person who does massage for a living.

When I was 23, I had a terrible pinched nerve in lower back that was excruciating pain, 10/10 pain when in the wrong position. I could barely get in and out of a car without assistance and could not get up from bed without sliding to the floor. It lasted for 2 days and was so bad I was in tears. I thought I would not be able to work anymore or function normally. My family helped me to a chiropractor and he cracked my lower back in that spot. The relief was instant. I could leave the office on my own, get in and out of the car on my own, do everything I could do normally after that. The only thing left was a little residual soreness. After 2 more visits I was 100% back to normal. This was 15 years ago.
About 5 years ago I had the same thing happen again after moving heavy furniture so I didn't wait and saw a chiropractor who fixed it again. In the Hiropractor office it's not backs, it's arms need "adjustment" so I use the cult techniques and hold their arms and move their arms in circles and figure eights around the "Hiro" blue light. And many will feel better just because someone touched their arms which if they wanted to do that they could just ask their family member or friend or neighbor to do it for free.
