I respect the city for refurbishing the 1960s building instead of spending around a million or more to build a new one.
You can see how human the city workers are. Not all wound up and Cop Happy.
The bigger question is, was that, that cops POV and was he filling it up with the peoples gas and not paying for it. It's always suspicious when the government has their own gas pumps rather than issuing credit cards or having an outside contract for gasoline. Seem's to always lead to corruption and the theft of gas.

Great audit. Overall I believe the public employees were pleasant and helpful. And the one public servant that ask for ID was cordial and did not push the issue when he was told that you were not going to identify.

So those city vehicles still have to keep up an ongoing registration renewal process. I'm surprised that they don't use an "EX" plate (exempt) system like some states, such as us here in Utah, do.
BTW the second cop was lying by his nonverbal ques when he was trying to deny knowledge about the car.
If it's a publicly owned vehicle not sure it can be parked on private property, unless temporary.

It's troubling that the guy pumping gas gave you patently false information, and presented it as fact. Really, almost anyone but you would have assumed the guy knew what he was talking about, and went away misinformed. I wish he would've just said to you "I don't know" rather than making up an answer. There's no shame in telling the truth. Ignorance is not a dirty word. It just means he doesn't know.

Truthfully the government doesn't pay for the inspection tags! They just self inspect and issue them selfs a tag. This how it's done in Arizona. They pay the mechanics to be trained and stratified and I'm sure this cost more then paying for the tags and registration of the vehicles.

Here government vehicles don't have stickers ,even transit busses because government can guarantee to cover accidents with your billions from taxes ,but a common person is required to pay for it to use the road.we the poor people

Now as a citizen you have to show ID to a public employee. You work in a public building in a pubic setting and the public can come in any accessible area and film. If you don’t like it I suggest you work in the public sector and think you have the authority to ask a citizen for there ID. Now that’s insane. Breaking no laws. Next if someone doesn’t like your shirt or your skin color you can require ID. Boy your ego is way beyond your authority.
