Petyr Baelish is responsible for almost all conflict and war in Westeros since the first book, I think him dying at the very end of the story makes the most sense
In the last book Petyr is training Sansa and arranging her marriage to Harry. How does this play out? Does Robyn die? Does Petyr's plan go awry? How does Sansa develop from innocent and foolish child to wise ruler? The show used her abusive marriage to Ramsay to accelerate her growth. What catalyst will the books use? In the show, Sansa emerged from her trauma very decent and honorable. I don't think book Sansa will be so pure. If Petyr dies at the end it's because Sansa kills him (hopefully in better fashion than the show). Yet, if Petyr dies much sooner, it could Sansa adrift and cause her to be bold, even reckless. I don't know why but the characters I'm most curious about are Sansa, F-Aegon, and Varys (after all those assassinations).
You mentioned Davos somehow surviving the Blackwater. I'm currently reading the books for the 3rd time and just now I noticed a pattern with him. As a smuggler, he's the man of the sea and water, and he keeps on repeating how he feels best when at sea, near the water. Davos is a guy who we saw get himself drowned, and then come back after 3 days, same way as Patchface. If I'm not mistaken, the only person Patchface actually talks directly to is Davos, not even to Shireen, just blabers songs while everyones around (tho maybe he "sings" dirrctly to her when Davos isn't around). This now correlates with the theory that Patchface is actually the prophet of the Drowned God, not Aeron. Could Davos be (maybe not a prophet) a servant of the Drowned God? Fire took everything from him, arguably his life also, but the sea gave him a second shot. And it's kinda poetic when you think about it, with Davos and Melisandre, two enemies, two gods, fire and water etc... Just a thought, I have "proof" so to say for that theory, but I'd need to make a video about it and have the books in front of me and try and find the fking chapters, which i dont currently 😅
Davos is the Living Embodiment of Lightbringer 100% (All the clues are there, but not many people seem to pick up on them). Reborn Amidst Salt and Smoke Supposedly died twice (Blackwater and White Harbor) Lightbringer was forged after three attempts.
While on the Subject of prophecy: Patcface seemed to preidct Shireen's death in ADWD: “Away, away,” the fool sang. “Come with me beneath the sea, away, away, away.” He took the little princess by one hand and drew her from the room, skipping.
@@DigiShack55 I think Patchface will die while he is attacking/biting/killing Melissandre as she sacrifices Shireen, as foreshadowed through her visions (blood on his lips, skulls).
Hey y'all remember in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban when Sirius bellows "I did my waiting! 12 years of it!" And as kids reading the book we were like wow that's so long- well GUESS WHAT, NOW WE'VE BEEN WAITING EVEN LONGER!
Give George some slack, it's not easy going through 5 years of Obama's and 4 years of Biden's Fascism. Isn't that the excus- I mean, perfectly valid explanation he gave for why he can't write?
Weirdly I could see Myrcella living that she just constantly wears a Golden Cloth (shroud) to cover half her face. I wonder if Shireen could be poisoned and being put into a Death like state by Melisandre to trick Stannis into burning her.
Oooh I love this idea! 😃 I always assumed that she would catch fever from an infection from her wound. I mean, it DOES sound like a pretty awful injury, poor girl. I always figured she'd slowly die from that, or... because they would find out that Dark Star had poisoned his sword, perhaps?? Speaking of Dark Star, I cannot wait to find out who paid him (or at least encouraged him) to try to kill that girl. It's so intriguing!
That would be SO good and unexpected, I never thought of that! She seems nothing like her mom, it would be great if she'd live. Especially if Cercei will die convinced that all of her children are gone, but that's not true - double salt on the injury
Prophecy seems to depend on the biases of the person interpreting them - Cersei was traumatised by Maggie's reading and it haunts her to this day, while Rhaegar's main character syndrome was validated by his interpretation of the Azor Ahai story. Melisandre is rather hyperfixated on Stannis and so likely sees his prominence in what the fires tell her as a similar sort of affirmation, while if what Euron says about his visions is true it would easily compel him to seize such power for his own ends. Patchface and Maggie, however, do not seem to have any particular interest in specific outcomes, merely seeing what will be rather than what they might fear or want. This could also bode poorly for Bran, as he seems to be developing a level of indifference to events around him.
You assume Rhaegar went all Gung ho woth the prophecy based on little to nothing. Like yeah he was doing research and thought he or his son may be the answer but he was still not sure. We still do not know anything about what happened with Lyanna except she left with him to the Tower of Joy. We don"t know if the prophecy spurned the whole event if he had anything with main character syndrome.
I don’t think that Bran is entirely indifferent. Even as he is torturing Hodor and burdening the Reed children, he still voluntarily thinks of and visits (via weirwood) his family and Winterfell. I believe that his weirwood behaviour will be in protection of his family and of the Old Gods (which is why I believe he will work against both the Others and against the Targs).
I never understood why people think "gold will be their crowns, gold will be their shrouds" means that Cersei will outlive her kids, the way I interpret those lines is simply that all three will be monarchs and all three will die as monarchs. Maybe the implication could be that they'll die before her (and I think Tommen probably will) but it's definitely not definitive that they will.
Why does it have to mean they'll be monarchs? Everyone has a crown, it's at the top of your head. Her kids had golden hair, so their crowns were golden. The colours of House Baratheon are black and gold, and the name Baratheon is the shroud hiding the circumstances of their birth. So their shrouds are golden. (presumably, they'd also be draped in the colours and sigil of House Baratheon when laid to rest)
@12:46 in relation to Quinn's caption: we know that Victarion wears full plate armor when raiding because he has no fear of drowning if he falls overboard. IMAGINE, JUST FREAKING IMAGINE if he uses Dragonbinder and it works PERFECTLY, he's about to become a dragonrider, one of the dragons flies over to let him mount it, but because Victarion is, as GRRM's puts it, "dumb as a stump," he didn't consider the possibility of the dragon flying toward the person who bound it with the horn and the fact that he used the horn on the deck of his ship. The dragon lands on his ship and either capsizes it or just straight-up sinks it depending on how big the dragon is (we haven't gotten a lot of detail on the current sizes of the dragons) and Victarion is thrown into the water and drowns from the weight of his armor, just like Andros Brax earlier in the series. It would be just...... perfect
Not a major viewpoint character but I think it'll be pretty certain that Harry the heir will die in Winds too. My theory is actually in the Winged Knight's tourney, but I can't see him living too much longer than that even if he didn't die there
@1:13 Can't forget Archmaester Marwyn's quote that pairs perfectly with Tyrion's: "Gorghan of Old Ghis once wrote that a prophecy is like a treacherous woman. She takes your member in her mouth, and you moan with the pleasure of it and think, how sweet, how fine, how good this is... and then her teeth snap shut and your moans turn to screams. That is the nature of prophecy, said Gorghan. Prophecy will bite your prick off every time."
I think we can rest assured that WoW will eventually be published. I'm hoping that, with a fair amount of luck, we may even see it sooner than we're expecting. I've made my peace with the fact that George himself probably won't be the one to finish the series and have suspected for some time that he's always wanted to mirror Tolkien in this aspect and only ever intended to nearly finish the series and leave enough meat for his writing team to finish it properly. I'm perfectly happy with this outcome now as I've convinced myself this is the best result likely and with the way the TV series went I really hope we get a nice large and well written book in the next 18-24 months so we can see a little more of all the cliffhangers we've been left on. Love the content though mate, having recently finished the books for the third time I'm enjoying indulging in your theories and analyses.
I mean that's what he thought at the moment but if he keeps 'losing' (if the North doesn't join his cause for example) and witnesses Melisandre resurrecting Jon, maybe his state of mind would be different?
@@etoiledeclipse3340 I doubt it though, since unlike show Stannis, book Stannis has done everything in his power to keep Shireen safe. Maesters wanted to kill her after she got Greyscale, Stannis didn't allow it. It would be so OOC for book Stannis and will it would be an unexpected, you didn't see this coming, moment, i don't think we won't see that with Shireen and Stannis. There is also Davos we need to take into consideration as well... he is loyal to a fold to Stannis, but also loves Shireen as if she is his own daughter. Davos will probably turn on Stannis if he ever kills Shireen.
@@nickdentoom1173 I think it's kinda hard to guess where/when Shireen's burning would take place, and I think it's even harder to guess where Davos will be at this point of the story... so I'm not sure if taking him into consideration really changes the picture I don't know if Stannis will actually kill his daughter, but I don't think it is made impossible by his previous actions and words considering how batshit crazy things could go and change the whole game. I also think that because of the way Martin uses myths and history from both Ancient Greece and Rome makes me think that he could use the myth of Iphigenia (being immolated by her father in order to make his army advance) as a blueprint. I may be too influenced by the show on this, however I always thought the mythological parallel was a bit too smart for D&D woops Personally I don't think Stannis is gonna kill Shireen for the reasons you listed, but I don't think it's completely impossible either considering the way things might go down
Who will die from House Tyrell?? They’ve been pretty clever in getting out of tough situations. I think I’m letting the show influence me a bit because I loved Margaery and Olenna, but I really like House Tyrell and want them to somehow come out unscathed. However, this book is called Winds of Winter, and I’m sure that some roses will die when winter comes.
@@andretempesta4056 correct me if I'm wrong, because I'm still reading Dance. Margeary's champion and Cersei's champion will fight each other? I thought their champions are supposed to fight against a champion of the Crown/Faith.
I think it would be better if Barriston survived all these impossible situations, only to die never having served a worthwhile ruler. He ends up dying in a little cottage by the sea, with servants to bury him, and his thoughts. All that talent. All that skill. All that bravery. And not a single good ruler to use it well. So bitter sweet. Yes he survives some of the most dangerous situations but only to save a monster. LOL! That would really burn. Being too old to be effective and all of your glorious memories being in service of the wrong person
For that to be true dany has to go show level insane which I don't think will be the case I see more of a mistake in kings landing first and a self sacrifice against the others for redemption so I don't know how this will play out
@@arjintiryaki6464 I like this thinking as well. Barriston seems like his goal is to die gloriously in battle, defending an honorable leader. The ultimate bittersweet F-U to him would be him doing all this bad a$$ stuff, and surviving all these battles, but for terrible rulers. Like, what a waste of great talent
@@keirangrant1607 makes sense but i think george won't just write a f-u storyline for barristan seeing how much he is self reflecting and how much effort he went to seek, find dany and see if she is a decent person it would be like punishing someone for doing all the right things with right intentions which to me feels too cynical
Myrcella's facial injury would be the perfect vector for her to contract a disease like greyscale. It could even be unintentionally passed by a maester, who's been exposed to the illness, and then treats/changes the bandages on Myrcella's face, spreading it.
I think it’s gonna be somewhat related to G.R.R’s post about Ozymandias(Breaking Bad episode), because in the post he praises the episode a lot and given how many people think he’s gonna have Tyrion have a similar arc to Walter White, it’s likely he might do something similar to *SPOILERS* Hank’s death, with Tyrion filling in Walt’s position and two other characters filling Jack and Hank’s position (Maybe Jaime for Hank’s position and Euron for Jack’s)
I think Selmy survives at least long enough to fulfill Tywin’s prediction that dismissing him from the KG will bite them in the ass when the common folk see him standing beside whichever Targaryen/Blackfyre comes to toss Cersei’s ass off of that throne.
I can also think of Lady Stoneheart and the masters or rulers from Slaver's Bay and Volantis. Jhaqo and Mago as well, because you know... Eroeh shall be avenged.
7:41 that he carries Bran throughout so much of the story, i actually think it makes a ton of sense in context. One final, ultimate sacrifice/being sacrificed. Both directions would be so sad but also makes a final commentary on how the nobility, intentionally or not, exploit their own people Readers: "whatcha got in that TWOW book GRRM? GRRM: doom.
Does it seem really likely to anyone else that Wyman Manderley will die? Stannis strongly desires of revenge for the supposed murder of Davos, and if he takes Winterfell, he will likely want to have him killed. But since Wyman's throat has been slashed by the Freys and his vocal cords possibly severed, he may have no means of explaining that he only pretended to have Davos killed, and Stannis will presume him a traitor.
I know for certain someone in charge will send a fourth rate character on a doomed trip to do something then 3-10 chapters later we learn, shock and awe, about their gruesome death. RIP Ser Godry Farring.
My guess for Cersei: when it becomes clear that Aegon has defeated Mace and is marching on the city we'll have a replay of Aerys with her trying to redo the wildfire plot (we know that there are still catches in the city and plenty left over from the Battle of the Blackwater) Jaime* will try to stop it and end up having to strangle her with the Hand of the King necklace to save the city (hands of gold etc), bringing us full circle. *he's technically her younger brother as he was born after her.
Euron Greyjoy is the Bloodstone emperor reincarnated and Dany is the Amethyst Emperess reincarnated and has her eyes. start of a dream of spring Euron Kills her and starts the long knight and becomes the great other himself cool theory
Possible. It'd definetly be better than the show's "who cares about the Others" path. I think however that there are several dichtomies at work. The Bloodstone Emperor clearly awoke something with his "black stone", which fell from the sky. The stone must still exist somewhere and I specifically propose Oldtown - which Euron is about to take. Remember that the base of the Hightower on Battle Isle is a labyrinthene fused black stone fortress, unique in that in Westeros and clearly predating the Valyrians. After the first long night, the Yi Tish people most definetly wanted to hide the stone as far away as possible and Oldtown is essentially on the other side of the world for them, plus they're known to also have built fused stone buildings. So, Euron will win the battle of blood, take Oldtown and then the stone. However, what are the Hightowers doing meanwhile? Leyton and his "mad maid" daughter Malora are apparently themselves looking into obscure knowledge, after all. If you have questions, I'll elaborate on anything.
I would like to see Dorne crown Myrcella unbeknownst to Cersei and her golden shroud would come as a direct result of Cersei moving against Dorne (possibly as an impulsive reaction to Tommen’s impending death, since she believes Tyrion may be hiding in Dorne) not yet knowing her daughter was a queen.
Awesome analysis! It is also worth noting that, barring the possibility of him making such a significant change, the preview chapters also confirm three more deaths: Aenys Frey, Raff the Sweetling, and Gorzhak zo Eraz. There's also that one page that indicated that Mors Umber is killed early on in the Battle of Ice, with his head being on a pike when the Frey forces charge Stannis, but since that wasn't officially released it's a bit dicier.
I will be very curious to see Stanis burning his own daughter. I think if that happens, GRRM will make it really nice, leading him into this destructive path slowly, as he is now not at all there. He was refusing to use the boy for so long, and he was despising him, as a bastard, can you imagine though what he should undergo in order to agree to burg his own daughter. Oh, I will enjoy this, Martin is so good at making characters change and become awful.
I think that the giant in a castle made out of snow might just as likely refer to Robert Arryn as he literally played the role of a giant destroing her castle of snow on the courtyard. Sansa somehow killing Robin might also be the turning point for her character as she kinda looses her innocence and becomes a ruthless political player.
I‘d say there will be a lot of Freys dying as well. And hopefully many Lords of the Vale (which would mean we see them in action), as well as Lady Stoneheart and potentially Wyman Manderly (I can see him dying, after fulfilling all his goals)
It would be perfectly in-line with how prophecy/destiny/fate is treated in mythology if Cersei's rampant paranoia about Maggy's prophecy (which btw Maggy only gave her when Cersei insisted and threatened Maggy) was what ultimately leads to Tommen and Myrcella's deaths, either directly or indirectly. After all, "a person often meets their destiny on the road they took to avoid it"
I've had this thought for a long time, but maybe stannis' family will flee from the Nights Watch mutineers towards him, maybe the mutineers want to capture them and deliver them to the Boltons in order to ingratiate themselves with them.
@@guichogf5636very ironic but a little brother will choke her now I could see it being Tyrion since he wants to kill her or maybe Jamie could do it or maybe it’s euron
@@ACinemafanatic I don't believe the prophecies are real. More likely, George uses them to illustrate that people who believe in prophecies become obsessed with either thwarting them or making them happen and all they do is get paranoid and complicate things. George loves to lead us one way and then switch it up. He said he wrote these books to subvert the common fantasy tropes. Marwin had the right of it.
The idea that Tommen will die is frankly LUDICROUS when you take into account who he has defending him. There is nothing in the world that can stand against SER POUNCE, the Prince That Was Promised, Azor Ahai, Bane of Darkness and Bringer of the Dawn. He shall be King Tommen’s champion, and scourge the world of the terrible Others and the dreaded Beets. None shall withstand him.
One thing I do agree with from the later seasons of the show - if Littlefinger dies, it would be most fitting from the third Tully girl he's messed with. I like your idea. I could see him falling out the moon door like he did to Lysa, but that would be too predictable for Martin.
@@TurquoiseStar17 My impression is that the Tully's consider the Starks, and the North generally, less civilized, more rough, more brutish than the "South". I think the Sansa that emerges will be more Stark than Tully.
The problem for Stannis killing Shireen in the books, is that its out-of-character for him to do so. Its much more likely he sacrifices himself in that case. I am going to be confident here and say that all the characters connected to Azor Ahai, will be safe until at least the final battle for Light, those being Dany, Jon, Davos and Victarion. So far, three of those, have been Reborn amidst Salt and Smoke (Dany, Davos and Victarion and Jon is probably gonna join them soon). Other characters that are safe until the very end are Arya, Sansa, Jaime, Cersei, Tyrion and Samwell. With Victarion, we also have to take something else into account and that is that they killed of Dany's Sea Captain Groleo. Victarion is there to replace him. You haven't mentioned them, but either Theon or Asha as well as Jaime or Brienne are on the chopping block. Like, here is the thing Theon and Asha are currently together, so we need only one POV for that area. Brienne and Jaime are currently together, going to the same place Theon and Asha are at Jon, Melisandre and Davos are also in the North. We simply don't need that many in one place. However, considering Jaime is tied to Cersei, he gets preference over Brienne in terms of surviability. At the other end of the spectrum is that i am expecting Theon willingly sacrificing himself for Asha, maybe jumping in front of a spear or arrow that targets Asha. Now, another possible candidate for death is Obara Sand. Areo Hotah is the only POV character in Dorne, with Arianne being in the Stormlands alongside JonCon (Talking about that, JonCon is a goner too with Arianne become the main POV for Faegons army as his future wife.
Has anyone ever covered the possibility of Loras being the Valonqar? Might be a little straightforward, but he is the youngest of the Tyrell brothers. There is already mystery/doubt surrounding his death or current state of health, he could return and realize the position that Cersei put him in or depending on timing come to avenge whatever event Cersei schemes to kill off Margery. Just a thought
I flatly refuse to believe that Stannis would burn Shireen, someone he has instructed Jason Massey to keep fighting for even if Stannis dies. I absolutely believe that Melissandra, out of misplaced loyalty, might burn Shireen at the hands of someone else wearing a glamour which gives them the appearance of Stannis. More likely and way more dramatic, in my view.
Yeah, for show Stannis it made sense, for book Stannis it would be totally out-of-character. If he needs to choose between him or Shireen, he won't even give it a second thought and would sacrifice himself in a heartbeat.
Even if this book was released (not counting fan fictions or continuations by other authors), I would bet no major POV character dies. There is exactly one character like this who died in the books. One.
I think we will get winds I think I KNOW WE WINT GET DREAM when old nan said men would live and die in darkness and never see spring she was talking bout us
I like the idea of wind epilogue or dreams prologue to have a viewpoint character dying. Like that way it’s a twist to new readers and a good way to build tension with readers who know that’s how these usually end. It just sounds like it’s got potential for some good suspense
@ I worded it wrong like a core character. Like how Theon was the prince of winterfell or whatever, have a main character in an epilogue or prologue that dies. They don’t have to be POV but it’d be a good twist
Yeah I keep wondering if the prophecy about "waking Dragons from Stone" might be about JonCon. What if Stannis survives the Battle at Winterfell, (although will still lose it) and maybe finally realizes that his cause is lost?? At some point, he'd have to back another claimant to the throne, and help THEM get there instead, right?! Well, I have a pretty strong feeling that in such a case, Stannis would most likely follow Fake-gon, before he'd follow Dany. Nobody likes that she has dragons. 😅🐉🔥 lol NOBODY. Everybody fears her power, and what she might do. It's going to be a huge problem for her, when she finally makes it over to Westeros.
Prophecy in ASoIAF works like it does in Greek myth and Shakespearean tragedy: clear prophecies always come true but never in the most obvious or straightforward way. Hidden prophecies like Mirri Maz Durr’s conditions for Dany’s womb to quicken again and her to bear a living child are arguably even more powerful. We know Dany’s fate can’t be close to the show bc each of the terms of this prophecy are coming true so Dany has to birth a living child at some time in some way, even if it’s upon her own death like the dire wolf mother of the pups adopted by the Stark kids. That would be the kind of twist George Martin likes, but it makes the prophecy come true unlike the show ending. -A Theory of Ice & Fire on Quora
I think Myrcella could survive somehow and fake her death running off with some lover or something. Cersei could be told of the death and sent her funeral shroud. Myrcella is old enough to understand her mother is a deeply unstable and terrible person and that her taking the throne us a death sentence. Cersei being sent the shroud when Myrcella isn't really dead would be perfect comeuppance for her lie to the Dornish about the mountains death. Also even though she wouldn't be aware if it I think one of her children abandoning her would also be a fitting karmic punishment for someone who has caused so much suffering ostensibly to defend her children. Also Martin can't resist breaking patterns and having prophecy come true in a different way than expected. Similarly I think patchfaces skulls surrounding him being a sign that he'll yet again be the only survivor, this time of Stannis' inner circle instead if a ahip, would be a very Martinian prophecy fulfillment.
I think if we agree that the prophecy of Maggie the Frog is true, Myrcella will probably outlive Tommen. My main reason for believing is the phrase "gold will be their crowns". Myrcella is currently Tommen's heir (at least for those who believe Tommen is the legitimate king in the first place) until the day he has children of his own, meaning that if he dies, she will inherit the crown by sheer reason of being his only living sibling. (still ridiculous that Cersei became queen in her own right in GoT. she has no claim. She was the wife and mother of the three past kings but she has no royal lineage.) Myrcella's claim to the throne is even the main point of Tyene's proposed plot to start a war with the Lannisters: challenge Tommen in favour of Myrcella, since by Dornish right she is in line before him by virtue of being older. Since that plot was stopped by Doran, I believe she will at least live to be crowned Queen Myrcella once Tommen dies (hence the golden crown). No telling how long she will survive her queenhood of course (not long I reckon). Unless the "golden crowns" is referring to hair color (all of Cersei's children are "gold of hair"), which given how obscure some of ASoIaF prophecies can be could mean that Myrcells wont ever get a real crown after all. who knows at this point
What do you think of the idea that Tommen gets killed by Ser Robert Strong. It’d be another example of Cersei’s plans and pawns backfiring horribly, and the Mountain has killed someone else for screaming too loudly in his duel with Oberyn.
Three points - 1) Wouldn't it be an absolute baller move if Martin kept hinting at Jon's resurrection, but never actually did it? Or at least postponed it to Dream and had Jon degrade to a mute character like Stoneheart but still used him as a viewpoint? Shudders... 2) My suspicion is that Shireen will get toasted by her mother, who has the means and has consumed rather more R'hllorian Kool-Aid than Stannis. Stannis will hear of this and his upper lip will wobble; the story about saving Shireen from greyscale (in the show) will spill out to either Theon or Asha Greyjoy. I'd make for a heck of a chapter at any rate. 3) Quinn managed to get to 3.05 without mentioning Jon Connington; congratulations. Baby steps towards a whole video...
This is Mr "There will be no burnings, pray harder" we're talking about I don't think he will. I think it will probably be her mother and Melisandre who'll sacrifice her. She's with them at the Wall. That's what I think
I think Bran will have something to do with Tomen's death. And maybe Bran or Arya warg into Tomen and use him to kill Cersei. There's a stray tom cat roaming around Kings Landing like Chekhov's gun who seems to figure into all of this. Also, Arya might die--sniff.
@13:00 Wait I though the whole joke of "The Meereenese Knot" is that it has been referenced so much with GRRM never explaining what it means? Like yes it gets its name from the Gordian Knot but I thought GRRM has never revealed what writing corner he had accidentally painted himself into that was the Meereenese Knot? Wasn't that the reason it was written-into the show as a sex act that is never elaborated-upon, as a "teehee" reference to Martin never explaining it?
here are the characters i feel like are gonna die in general. not just in Winds but in Spring too. this doesn't have everybody tho Arya - i feel like the Nightking is going to kill her Jaime and Cersei - he's likely gonna die while killing his sister all of cersei's kids Jon Con Brienne - she is likely going to be knighted before she dies. she will most likely die in The Long Night Lady Stoneheart Davos Danny i kinda feel like Tyrion might die too Littleflinger - i can also see a storyline where Littlefinger wins the iron throne. OBVIOUSLY Hodor ALL of the Greyjoys Roose and Ramsay Mance Pyp, Satin, Grenn, and most of the other named nights watch members Stannis and Mel yung griff Ben Plumm Jorah Barristan Strong Belwas Gilly - i have a feeling she's gonna die and leave Sam a bit jaded Obara Sand - she's pretty wreckless and according to the way her story is unfolding, is likely gonna die Areo Hotah Darkstar Greyworm there's more but those are the most important characters. here are some who i believe are gonna survive Bronn - likely wont show up again Sandor - likely wont show up again Varys - can't see a reason to kill him off but i remember Alt Shift X briefly mentioning a sensical way he could die without giving specific details Daario - likely wont show up again Tyrion - he might not die Bran - likely would become king Sansa - i hope she dies but prob wont Jon Snow - don't see why GRRM would kill him off again. would spoil the first time it happen and it won't be very impactful Sam - he's probably gonna write down the recorded history of ASOIAF Some members of the brotherhood without banners
POV deaths: Aeron Damphair. Barristan Selmy (it pains my heart to say this). Asha or Theon (one will die, but I'm not sure which one). Davos Seaworth (he's too good to survive). Aero Hotah (after finishing all the Darkstar, Myrcella thing). Brienne (probably, although if she dies I think it will be during the later part of the book). JonCon (same as Brienne). Victarion (he'll survive the battle of fire but he won't reach far after that). Cersei and Jaime will both die for sure, but it will most probably be in Dreams. Other deaths: Shireen Hodor Harry the Heir or Sweet Robin (or both) Lady Stoneheart The Boltons (all of them). Stannis (probably at the end, again) Mance (honestly, there's a chance he is already dead and this time for real). (f)Aegon (maybe during Dream rather than Winds) Almost everyone in KL (you know, the bells) and Meereen (we need to get rid of those plot inconveniences) 😅
I mean... sure a lot of them will die... but Victarion and Davos won't be amongst them, since everything in the books so far line them up in connection with Azor Ahai (Both are reborn amidst Salt and Smoke at least once, so i have a feeling both are safe until at least endgame). Areo Hotah is at least safe in Winds, as he will be our only eyes and ears in Dorne (Arianne isn't there anymore). Other than that, i feel like you are spot on with the predictions. Barristan isn't need with Victarion around I think Theon dying is more likely than Asha, i think he sacrifices himself for her, taking a spear or arrow meant for her).
For the Viewpoint prospective I think Areo Otha is surely the one who dies, all the others could still make it into Dreams. Even Barristan could survive and switch to Aegon, and I think Dany needs the fleet of Victarion to reach Westeros and that Valyrian steel axe is too cool to not have Vicatrion pillage Claw Ilsand and take it. About Shireen I am pretty sure she’ll die in Winds I just can’t figure when: 1. She dies before the Wall has fallen and the irony is that Stannis is doing something to stop the apocalypse and wake dragons from stone and instead the Wall falls (unrelated to the death of Shireen the Wall will fall because of the Horn of Winter) 2. Or maybe she dies shortly after the Wall has fallen, the Others are about to invade Westeros and Stannis takes drastic measures to defend his kingdom. But maybe this option kinda absolve him more for this horrible acts what is the life of one girl against the destiny of humanity? About Myrcella’s death my pet theory (I think I have mention it in comment of another of your videos) is that she’ll fall from a window like Tommen in the series. She could either commit suicide like Queen Helena, because after Tyene kills Tommen her betrothal with Trystane is done for (also their name mirirorinfg Tristan and Isolde’s story) in that case she could even survive in Dreams when Cersei retraits to Casterly Rock. The other option is that her death could be framed as suicide like Queen Jahaera, maybe Varys does it, but reader is left with a doubt. I think that along side her broken betrothal, the thing that drives her to suicide is Jaime telling her he’s her true father. They did it in the series even if they had to frame Jaime as the average dad of and action American movie, so she was cool with that. But in the books this could destroy her. “He thought of Myrcella. I will need to tell her too. The Dornishmen might not like that. Doran Martell had betrothed her to his son in the belief that she was Robert's blood. Knots and tangles, Jaime thought, wishing he could cut through all of it with one swift stroke of his sword. "I have sworn a vow," he told Hildy wearily.” “My place is with my king. With my son. Would Tommen want toknow that? The truth could cost the boy his throne. Would you sooner have a father or a chair, lad? Jaime wished he knew the answer.” About Tommen’s death there’s been a recently LCrhis post on Reddit that is very convincing about Tyene using the blessed oil during Tommen’s anointment by the High Sparrow.
Area Hotah crossed my mind too, until i realized every 'kingdom/region' has at least one POV at the moment, except for the Westerlands. Considering Arianne Martell won't be around in Dorne in Winds, Areo Hotah will be the only POV character in Dorne we have around Doran Martell. So Areo Hotah should be at least safe until DoS. Thing we need to take into consideration is that we have a lot of POV characters in the North and around Dany. In the North, we have Theon, Asha, Melisandre, soon to be joined by Jaime and Brienne (And proabably Davos and Jon too). I have a feeling Theon and Brienne are going to die... as Jaime is too important for the endgame and connected to Cersei, and Theon is probably gonna sacrificing himself for his sister. The POV alongside Dany who is the most expendable at this point is Barristan Selmy. He basically has served his purpose at this point + doesn't get any younger and i have a gut feeling the Tattered Prince isn't really who he says that he is, but will become Dany's main army commander. Barristan will go down as the badass he is though, protecting Tyrion, taking 50 opponents with him in death in the process.

Petyr Baelish is responsible for almost all conflict and war in Westeros since the first book, I think him dying at the very end of the story makes the most sense
after or before the white walkers ?
@@michaelbayer5094Sansa emerged decent and honorable? She singlehandedly broke her family apart because she couldn't trust anybody.

Theon pre-dreams the Red Wedding too, so he has a little magic juice.
Theon can have a little magic juice, as a treat
It’s because of the part about her joy turning to ash and the valonqar then choking the life from her
because its implied that at the end of the prophecy when everything else has happened, only then will the valonqar kill her
Why does it have to mean they'll be monarchs?
Everyone has a crown, it's at the top of your head. Her kids had golden hair, so their crowns were golden.
The colours of House Baratheon are black and gold, and the name Baratheon is the shroud hiding the circumstances of their birth. So their shrouds are golden. (presumably, they'd also be draped in the colours and sigil of House Baratheon when laid to rest)
I can’t believe Quinn was the Blackwater Bay Harbor Butcher!

Plot twist: all the readers die before a song of ice and fire is finished…
Just imagine, reading the book and Stannis is the prologue viewpoint character.
It would be the worst
It would be just...... perfect
The greatest trope George subverted was that a story needs an ending
lol I appreciate you making these videos someone needs to keep us occupied during the long wait
Not a major viewpoint character but I think it'll be pretty certain that Harry the heir will die in Winds too. My theory is actually in the Winged Knight's tourney, but I can't see him living too much longer than that even if he didn't die there
I agree. Out of all the chapters Preston and his crew made for his fanfic, I think that the one will be the closest to winds is Alayne 2.
I really don’t think stannis would burn her daughter. He literally said “if i die put my daughter Shireen on the iron throne” to Davos
Yeah, it would really out of character for book Stannis to burn Shireen.
@@nickdentoom1173 I think it's kinda hard to guess where/when Shireen's burning would take place, and I think it's even harder to guess where Davos will be at this point of the story... so I'm not sure if taking him into consideration really changes the picture
I don't know if Stannis will actually kill his daughter, but I don't think it is made impossible by his previous actions and words considering how batshit crazy things could go and change the whole game. I also think that because of the way Martin uses myths and history from both Ancient Greece and Rome makes me think that he could use the myth of Iphigenia (being immolated by her father in order to make his army advance) as a blueprint. I may be too influenced by the show on this, however I always thought the mythological parallel was a bit too smart for D&D woops
Personally I don't think Stannis is gonna kill Shireen for the reasons you listed, but I don't think it's completely impossible either considering the way things might go down

Pretty sure Wyman can write, and Stannis can read.
There's also that one page that indicated that Mors Umber is killed early on in the Battle of Ice, with his head being on a pike when the Frey forces charge Stannis, but since that wasn't officially released it's a bit dicier.
y’know, victarion never had the makings of a varsity athlete
I will be very curious to see Stanis burning his own daughter. I think if that happens, GRRM will make it really nice, leading him into this destructive path slowly, as he is now not at all there. He was refusing to use the boy for so long, and he was despising him, as a bastard, can you imagine though what he should undergo in order to agree to burg his own daughter.
I'm intrigued by what Sansa and Littlefinger are plotting. I don't know why the show abandoned this storyline.

Theory that I just developed as I watched your video. Stannis burns Shireen, and Patchface lets the others through the wall in retaliation.
One thing I do agree with from the later seasons of the show - if Littlefinger dies, it would be most fitting from the third Tully girl he's messed with. I like your idea. I could see him falling out the moon door like he did to Lysa, but that would be too predictable for Martin.
Is Sansa the 3rd Tully girl? It's an odd way to reference her, but I guess LF sees her that way.
@@michaelbayer5094 Yeah, I meant how she takes after her mother a lot more than Arya does.
Like, here is the thing
Theon and Asha are currently together, so we need only one POV for that area.
Brienne and Jaime are currently together, going to the same place Theon and Asha are at
Jon, Melisandre and Davos are also in the North.
I don’t think anyone is going to get killed off because that would require the book getting finished
One.

I like the idea of wind epilogue or dreams prologue to have a viewpoint character dying. Like that way it’s a twist to new readers and a good way to build tension with readers who know that’s how these usually end. It just sounds like it’s got potential for some good suspense
Dance's epilogue was Kevan dying in his POV
@ I worded it wrong like a core character. Like how Theon was the prince of winterfell or whatever, have a main character in an epilogue or prologue that dies. They don’t have to be POV but it’d be a good twist
“He’s just lovin’ the horn” 💀💀
what about joncon? that greyscale doesn't seem to be going away soon
Joncon is a goner for sure, like he isn't really needed in Winds anymore, because Arianne will be there as a POV character as well.
When he opened that second last section with “George R R Martin.....” I thought he was predicting that GRRMs would die in winds 💀

She was the wife and mother of the three past kings but she has no royal lineage.)
Myrcella's claim to the throne is even the main point of Tyene's proposed plot to start a war with the Lannisters: challenge Tommen in favour of Myrcella, since by Dornish right she is in line before him by virtue of being older.
At this point we might get the 2nd Volume of The Stormlight Archive before ASOIAF finishes
What do you think of the idea that Tommen gets killed by Ser Robert Strong. It’d be another example of Cersei’s plans and pawns backfiring horribly, and the Mountain has killed someone else for screaming too loudly in his duel with Oberyn.
Three points -
1) Wouldn't it be an absolute baller move if Martin kept hinting at Jon's resurrection, but never actually did it?

1)Jon Is not dead
2)Stannis Will burn Shireen
Stannis will never burn Shireen!!! I'll die on this hill 😂
For real 🙄 It'll be that b*tch wife of his, cuz she's a f*cking religious nutcase, who would do anything for her precious Fire God.
1:20 what is symbolism of the mint tea in a copper mug?
Hey Quinn, do you think Stannis' death will be the epilogue in twow?
Prophecies are like hard truths, they cut both ways.
OMG I hit the subscribe button seconds before he mentioned it. PROPHECIES ARE TRULY A THING (srly, seconds before 😅)
here are the characters i feel like are gonna die in general. not just in Winds but in Spring too. this doesn't have everybody tho
Arya - i feel like the Nightking is going to kill her
Jaime and Cersei - he's likely gonna die while killing his sister
all of cersei's kids
Jon Con
Brienne - she is likely going to be knighted before she dies. she will most likely die in The Long Night
Lady Stoneheart
Davos
Danny
i kinda feel like Tyrion might die too
Littleflinger - i can also see a storyline where Littlefinger wins the iron throne.
OBVIOUSLY Hodor
ALL of the Greyjoys
Roose and Ramsay
Mance
Pyp, Satin, Grenn, and most of the other named nights watch members
Stannis and Mel
yung griff
Ben Plumm
Jorah
Barristan
Strong Belwas
Gilly - i have a feeling she's gonna die and leave Sam a bit jaded
Obara Sand - she's pretty wreckless and according to the way her story is unfolding, is likely gonna die
Areo Hotah
Darkstar
Greyworm
there's more but those are the most important characters. here are some who i believe are gonna survive
Bronn - likely wont show up again
Sandor - likely wont show up again
Varys - can't see a reason to kill him off but i remember Alt Shift X briefly mentioning a sensical way he could die without giving specific details
Daario - likely wont show up again
Tyrion - he might not die
Bran - likely would become king
Sansa - i hope she dies but prob wont
Jon Snow - don't see why GRRM would kill him off again. would spoil the first time it happen and it won't be very impactful
Sam - he's probably gonna write down the recorded history of ASOIAF
Some members of the brotherhood without banners
POV deaths:
Aeron Damphair.
Other deaths:
Shireen
Hodor
Harry the Heir or Sweet Robin (or both)
Lady Stoneheart
The Boltons (all of them).
Stannis (probably at the end, again)
Mance (honestly, there's a chance he is already dead and this time for real).
(f)Aegon (maybe during Dream rather than Winds)
Almost everyone in KL (you know, the bells) and Meereen (we need to get rid of those plot inconveniences) 😅
I mean... sure a lot of them will die... but Victarion and Davos won't be amongst them, since everything in the books so far line them up in connection with Azor Ahai (Both are reborn amidst Salt and Smoke at least once, so i have a feeling both are safe until at least endgame).
Areo Hotah is at least safe in Winds, as he will be our only eyes and ears in Dorne (Arianne isn't there anymore).
Other than that, i feel like you are spot on with the predictions.
Barristan isn't need with Victarion around
I think Theon dying is more likely than Asha, i think he sacrifices himself for her, taking a spear or arrow meant for her).
Jon got the dark sign
The Hound is a little brother.
Shireen, Rickon, and Moon boy for all I know.
About Shireen I am pretty sure she’ll die in Winds I just can’t figure when:
1. She dies before the Wall has fallen and the irony is that Stannis is doing something to stop the apocalypse and wake dragons from stone and instead the Wall falls (unrelated to the death of Shireen the Wall will fall because of the Horn of Winter)
"I have sworn a vow," he told Hildy wearily.”
“My place is with my king. With my son. Would Tommen want toknow that? The truth could cost the boy his throne. Would you sooner have a father or a chair, lad? Jaime wished he knew the answer.”
About Tommen’s death there’s been a recently LCrhis post on Reddit that is very convincing about Tyene using the blessed oil during Tommen’s anointment by the High Sparrow.
I can't believe you didn't mention lady stoneheart
So Hodor might pull a Benkei? That would be awesome.
Good video 👍🏻
Hodor's last word will be to say his real name.
I really want a character who has had chapters in the past to be the prologue character so we are just waiting for them to die as we read
