I have mixed feelings regarding Ioan Gruffudd's performance as Reed Richards. I think the actor did his best with what he was given to work with, but the writers did a poor job of portraying both Richard's genius and his charisma. In these films he comes across as a harmless nerd, which makes his leadership of the team (and their ability to take on villains like Victor Von Doom) much less believable. Unfortunately, at the time, Hollywood typically portrayed intellect as nerdism, even though this wasn't the case in the comics. Singer's X-men films were one of the first to disabuse audiences of such assumptions.

Honestly, the biggest complaint people had with this movie was how Galactus got reducted to a cloud of DUST... which I could understand. Since, in such a "earthed" story, a GIANT MAN WITH A HELMET would look kinda stupid. So, making him more like a Cosmic Horror works better. In context.
Honestly i really like how they kinda nerfed the Silver Surfer. In the comics he's like, God level, but making him a little less powerful yet still a great threat is perfect. I also just like the idea of him having to stay on the board to keep his powers. It works with him being a surfer and all
One thing that i really enjoy about these films, is we got to see the heroes actually be heroes. Instead of just fighting the villain, they were constantly trying to save civilians. That whole ferris wheel scene was lit, i loved it. Wasn’t some big battle, it was just people in trouble and heroes resolving the situation..

Don’t even know if the class understood anything especially since it’s a sequel , but it’s a vivid memory in my mind of me getting the class and my teacher to watch Rise of the Silver Surfer

I was already a full grown college graduate who had grown up on Fantastic Four comics and the cartoon on Fox when I saw this movie in the theater with my dad, who was himself a Fantastic Four fan as a child and owned Fantastic Four #1 (unfortunately my grandmother got rid of his comics before I was born). My dad had been dealing with cancer for over a year at this point and was becoming sicker. He somehow mustered enough strength to leave the house and see this movie with me, and it was the last movie he ever saw in theater and the last time he left the house except for the day he went to the hospital and passed away. I felt bad that he didn't live long enough to see any of the movies that are part of the MCU, but now, as a father myself, I look back on this movie and realize how great it was. I saw it was on TV one day and watched it with my son. It's a movie that tends to be on the cheesy side but totally fits the tone of the Fantastic Four, something that kids can watch without getting too much into mature themes. I don't really look forward to the Fantastic Four's introduction to the MCU because I can't imagine anyone else but Michael Chiklis playing Ben Grimm. Your video didn't touch on Stan Lee's cameo. God the bar scene with John and Ben we desperately need more of that. I really hope Chris Evans makes a torch cameo in the mcu I can already see them see him come through a portal and everyone is like "cap?" But then he yells "FLAME ON" and cue mandatory heroes fight each other scene.
Oh watching this, you got some of my childhood memories to rise, remembering the animated show-Fantastic 4 World's Greatest Heroes from around 2006-2007-AMAZING, would love to see a review
I always love it when people take movies That I enjoyed as a kid and make them sound even better. I miss some of the older Marvel movies. The way in which they did them was very different then now, since they're under Disney. The xmen movies are some of my favorites superhero movies. Even some of the ones people don't like. The feel of them is just different. And I like that. I especially love the prequel xmen movies even more to be honest. One of the few franchise to do that. Anyway. Point being that there were definitely some good Marvel movies back in the day !
Bro I watched. This soooo. Any times as a kid it was one of my comfort ones, something about silver surfer was sooo therapeutic the way he spoke, glided in space, his strength was also emphasised so fucking well I loved it. I remember how fascinating every scene was, it was so much to look at. It really hit the spot for me as a 6 year old. I’m in my 20s
About them making 4 in the sky just because it's cool. For all the hate Joel Schumacher's Batman movies get, they a full with such moments. Like Batman, Robin and Batgirl running into the camera in slow-mo.
I remember not even liking the first movie but loving the second one. I haven't rewatched either since their premieres, but that's just the lasting impression both have had for me.
Just watched it last night. It’s very fast paced plot densely packed and lots of fun. First film feels more grounded. Dr. Doom’s goals remain a mystery.
I would love a giant mecha Galactus. With his moon ship, using the Baxter Building, the origin, the 0,0,0 point of the marvel universe as his place to eat Earth's energy. If they followed the structure of the galactus trilogy we would have seen all the family relationship being tested to the limits. Reed growing a beard because he is losing control, Sue not getting turn on by Reed brilliance and trying to balance their lives, but extremely worried that stretcho is going wacky more than normal. Ben questioning his relationship with Alicia and Johnny finding his place in the world at college. Scrap the Inhumans part: you have New York, The Baxters Labs, Galactus ship, Galactus devices, The alt dimension were Johnny goes to find the nullifier. Imagine an arc of Reed failling through the movie, he is not able to find a solution and his moment of saving the day is using the nullifier. Peak cinema
Older Marvel movies up until the first Avengers movie, are always a really good time. They all had their own personalities, they focused more on characters and having self contained, character interaction based movies, instead of following a formula and focusing on what's going to happen now and how it relates. Just returning to a simpler time when making a story came first. not to mention the use of PRACTICAL effects.

I remember having the toys for all the fantastic four from this movie, the silver surfer, and the fantasticar as a kid
Came from watching on my TV to tell you this video essay is fucking awesome. So much more fun to enjoy stuff and I hate the hate this movie gets!!! Much love
dude this is your best edited and written vid ever! its so hilarious
They did a good job of showing how Reed is so caught up n science 2 the point he has difficulty connecting 2 Sue
i am so glad somebody out there loves this movie as much as i do
God the bar scene with John and Ben we desperately need more of that. I really hope Chris Evans makes a torch cameo in the mcu I can already see them see him come through a portal and everyone is like "cap?" But then he yells "FLAME ON" and cue mandatory heroes fight each other scene.
Fun fact general haggar was originally going to be Nick fury
Your friend should edit your stuff more often, great stuff
Editing is 🔥🔥🔥 Hope to see more from your friend
Oh watching this, you got some of my childhood memories to rise, remembering the animated show-Fantastic 4 World's Greatest Heroes from around 2006-2007-AMAZING, would love to see a review
my guy really uploaded a video with the most chaotic editing energy like a drunk friend telling you the whole plot of FANTASTIC 4 2
I loved this movie as a kid, and I had the same reaction during the silver surfer and human torch chase scene. I was losing my shit lol🤣
Thank you so much for your review, it's cool to hear from people who love to see movies and appreciate them, very cool
I loved this movie as a kid, I even got a picture of Silver Surfer signed by Doug Jones and it is still on my shelf to this day
I always love it when people take movies That I enjoyed as a kid and make them sound even better.
The guest feature edit was superb. Even as a viewing experience it works really well
Whoa nice flex with your own anime merch! Hope it blows up man.
P.S. Your friend's editing elevated the comedy. She did awesome.
13:51 “Dear maurico this is going to be the best part of the video mark my words sir Maurice”
These movies gave me the crippling attraction to Jessica Alba that i still haven't recovered from
And this Galactus was based off the Ultimate version. The ship was the shape of his head.
Completely forgot about how the Fantasticar was a flying Dodge Avenger
I like how they display the power cosmic without ever really talking about it, that board is so gonked out it breaks reality just by existing
The Silver surfer - johnny Storm chase....mmm.. to this day...**Chefs kiss**
Peak cinema
6:00 Holy shit, Captain Holt is in this movie ?! I completely forgot
The “sexual tension” part made me spit my coffee inside a Denny’s. Now I am washing dishes to pay back the damages. 5 Stars on the editing!
21:51 Careful John, your Steve Rogers is showing
