    Burdwan is in West Bengal. We call that variety as Gobindo Bhog rice, which in Kerala is known as Jeerakashala or Kaima rice.

    • @Liliesnlotus
      @Liliesnlotus Рік тому +6

      Gobinda bog is a variety of aromatic rice, which is smaller that Kaima or Jeerakasala. Another aromatic smaller cultivar called 'Kaasha' from North East, especially in Asom and Tripura (comes in three variant, red, white and black) are heavily scented and tastier than Gobinda bog. Unfortunately these are only available only with local farmers there

    I learnt so much. Bengali's will love this receipe. Gobindobhog short grain rice when fried in oil gives out the flavour which is highly sought after in durga puja prasadam. Now the question is which came first?
    1) Lucknow Biriyani
    2) Kolkata Biriyani
    3) Malabar Biriyani

    Here in BengalThis rice is called Gobindovog (Vog/Prasad for Lord Govinda/Krishna), as in West Bengal, Assam and Bangladesh this rice is used for makin Payes(one type of Kheer). This rice is better than Basmati in every aspect. In Kerala and Tamilnadu this rice is also used to make Biriyani,, Pulao.

    • @Tech___Tube
      @Tech___Tube 9 місяців тому +1

      In fact, only in northern districts of Kerala (Malabar Region), small sized rice is used for Biriyani.
      In south Kerala, Basmati like rice variants are used.
