I grow potatoes year round here in San Francisco. I use half wine barrels which work very well, along with some custom cedar planting beds. When I do a harvest, I also save the smaller potatoes (1-2 cm or so) to replant the beds again.

Cool. Given we are so dependent on the economy and thus wars in other countries, being self sufficient look very attractive. Going from producing your own heat via burning waste wood as people used to do, making electricity from solar energy or just growing your own food, it are all pretty cool ideas nowadays.

Huge fan of your vids Flam! Just one small comment. Here in Norway it’s not recommended to use store bought potatoes for regrowing, there reason is that in some cases the plants can infect nearby potato field’s with organisms causing havoc to potato farmers. Worst case you can get a 1 year jail sentence, plus the infected farmer can in worst case get a 40 years quarantine on growing potatoes!! All it takes is that you use the same shoes in your potato field and walk on to the farmers field. I know it sounds like a long shot to do this type of damage but where I live (and grow my own potatoes) it could happen since we walk our dogs near a potato farmers field.
    Keek up the great work😊
