  • I converted a dilapidated tack room in my pole barn to a great new workspace to work on all my firearms. Check it out!

    Nice setup! I envy you the dedicated quiet reloading space, and you did a great job organizing it. Believe it or not, other than the kick ass Dillon (I have a regular 550), the one item you have that I’m jealous of is that draftsman’s lamp. Forget 40 years old, more like 65 or even 70. The Army had a ton of those in the 1950’s, and so did most Fed Gov agencies. My Dad had one when I was born in 1956, and he’d had it since before Korea. Fluorescent, yes, but who cares, I love the light from those. One thing, be careful with an electronic scale around the lamp as you can get some interference fluctuations and inconsistent measurements under the light.
    Thanks for the tip on the brass juice, but I’ve had fantastic results in my wet tumbler using a little Armor All Wash and Wax and 1/4 Teaspoon of Lemishine. Most people use too much Dawn and definitely too much Lemishine. My brass comes out super shiny in 90 minutes then goes into a brass dryer. I also still dry tumble small batches in corn cob media with Dillon Rapid Polish with good results.
    I think the only thing I might add might be more shelves to your left as you walk in, on the wall opposite the swamp cooler, to store stuff like your Tipton gun vise and more powder / bullets / brass, etc., etc., to get them off the bench. Believe me you’ll grow into it over time. I also use mine for extra Dillon toolheads with dies and powder measures and caliber conversions on toolhead stands.
    Congrats on building yourself a really nice reloading space! 👍
    P.S. You have _way_ more wall space than me, as I’m in a garage, but like your bullet poster as well. Maybe someday I can fit one in!

I have just about shot through my stock pile and I am in the process RIGHT NOW moving all of my stuff to one side of the shop at my new house so I can strip the walls down run electric and air lines insulate then mud. My shop reload room will be 13'x14' I was watching your video while working on mine. Thanks for sharing

    Loved the video. Starting to get into get into reloading. Making a space in the basement. Your room is the best I've seen yet. I'd be proud too. Nice digs.

    Wow that is really nice I especially like the fact that you completely finished everything unlike a lot of rooms or garages I see where drywall isn't finished or OSB isn't painted including a lot of my projects that doesn't get finished 100%. Nice job. Just found your channel and enjoy bouncing around to a lot of your videos

    Very nice reloading room. Lemi Shine's about as good as they'll get even my Lapua cases, in reality I just fart around with the Geezers on the 100 yard firing line. You have a very helpful youtube channel with fundamental products of backpacking for people like myself. Your product videos will help me get it right the first time. That Stanly cup is a deal but the minimalist in me wouldn't feel right unless I go with your Toaks 550ml set up. Again great insight videos thank you.

    Actually, Clint Eastwood used a 45 caliber, because of the availability of BLANKS.

    Looks good man, be proud of your work and enjoy it.. Pay no attention to the Haters.. My question is how do you heat it, do you maintain temp in it year round to prevent moisture problems causing rust?

      I use a small Lasko heater from Walmart same as we use in the RV. Works great and takes up little room.

      I usually only keep the powder & primers that I'm using at the time in the reloading room. The rest stay on a metal cabinet in the house.

    No windows or sky light? I would have burned it down and built it with windows at least. It would be far too dangerous to only have one exit in case of a fire, by the way, didn’t see a fire extinguisher...makes for a perfect coffin though.

    • @TheGoatMumbler
      @TheGoatMumbler  2 роки тому

      Two of the 4 walls face into the barn, the other faces a garden shed 20 " away and the third has the electrical service and the entry door. Good idea on the extinguisher.

    If I built this room separate from the house, I feel that I would end up being dragged into a divorce attorneys office sooner than later

      No problem just mount it on a trailer frame and when you get the boot you can haul it with you to your new location alongside your tent. LOL
