Possibly the greatest beard video ever!! So much detail... Thank you
Great video as always Matty. Much appreciated 😅
i love not only how master you are but also every video which has a cool vibe.
This is the video I needed great tips, brother!
What an amazing result/beard you created!! Thank you for sharing this video, I just started to grow my beard. Can't wait until I reach the length of the good man in your video. Although I never get a beard like him, he must have incredible genetics! Warm greetings from the Netherlands!
Man - end state of his beard looks great. Very similar face shape/beard as mine. I have trouble with DIY trimming. Always end up messing it up. If I don't trim though, my face looks bloated out. Going to try trimming my sides like you've shown here. Thanks - love your channel!!
So glad i saw this video. My face shape and hair type are almost exactly like this. And i have never quite nailed how to trim it appropriately. I look forward to trying this out 👍
I have a round faceshape too, although i am not bald, I happen to have a similar beard growth (just not as long yet) this really is nice to see what you can do :)
Great work! I like your videos!
Greetings from Germany
Thank you for answering my question and the questions for other balf fellas like me . I went to a barbers for the first ever other day my beard was getting very scruffy no other way of putting and was 😊 ear to ear don't know why I never went to the barbers before . 👍
Fully agree. As a bald man, it's about face shape, skin tone, other factors such as glasses or no glasses etc
One day I'll find a barber who can do a beard properly and accommodate to my OCD/symmetry needs.
I've been to 4 different barbers with 10+ years of experience and they never put enough attention to detail into it and I have to fix it when I get home.
Guess I'm stuck doing it myself
Today I used your tips and my beard looks great thank you bro
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!
C'mon guys the answer is already there . Kratos beard is the way .. That's why matty did the DIY version anyway 🤔😉
lol. yeah the kratos is a good choice for bald guys
It looks like an anvil. It looks good. I just need to gain the muscle needed to make it look good.
I’m in my late teens and I’ve asked girls and gay men my age what they think about Kratos. It isn’t everyone’s preference but some girls found him very attractive. Yes. Old, bald, Kratos can be very good looking even for young people. Rock it, baldies!
@@mattyconradgroominghow would Keatos look on this client reason I ask I’m shaped like him and beard is as long if not little longer thanks
Thanks for the videos man they are well edited and informative. Thank you. I was wondering if you had any suggestions regarding beard types or shapes that have some length and bulk but are still low maintenance. It seems whenever I go for a longer or bigger beard it either looks ragtag or I am spending a bunch of time with combing, hair dryers and products. I love anything low maintenance.
Great video! Thanks!
A++ on cutting that dudes hair, wish it was me getting a clean cut like that!
Would love a clean shaven to bearded time lapse maintenance video. You could show how to maintain your beard every step of the way (how to trim, how to clean up, how to wash, condition, when to use oil)
I would love to see a video on clean/smooth shaving and your favorite/recommended tools for the job. I'm thinking straight razor, these new safety/one blade razors, disposables, electric shavers, etc. Could be a fun video!
Love that idea
Can u plzz make this type of videos for other face types too? That will be great. Thanks.
I'm just starting to grow a beard and am so glad I found your channel! I was wondering if you think a beard shaping tool/stencil would be a good idea for those of us amateurs to use ince our beards are long enough to start shaping?
Beard is an emotion 😍
Well I have about 2ft long hair and full beard and I did enjoy the face shape tutorial
Those proto types are looking amazing, any word on if you are still going to market with a product like those?
I can remember watching this dudes videos two or three years ago, contemplating growing a beard, thinking I'll never be able to grow a beard that long.
Well, I was wrong.
Would love a guide for beard shaping/trimming for really curly beards. Having a lot of trouble with mine as it just bunches up underneath and doesn't hold shape very well.
+1
Have you tried a beard straightener combined with a good beard butter to keep the shape!? If not you should I have a decently long beard and one the gets fairly curly at that and the combo listed above works quite well for me.
Seconding this request. Like 80% of all beard tutorials assume that the person has straight or wavy beard hair. I'm having trouble keeping the sides of my beard under control without sacrificing length.
I use a heated brush combined with a comb behind the hair almost sandwiching my beard between the two and pulling down slowly works a treat took my beard game to the next level bit of beard balm to hold it down then boar brush for the loose hairs to pull it in then send the wooden comb through it
Awesome, thanks . Mr clean here
After you finish the cut run your fingers all through the beard to mess it up! repeat grooming products brushing and combing to shape it back again to see the results! 🦁
Matty, out of all the beard styles you have worn over the years, which would you say is your favorite?
@18:39 - admiring the magnificent beard on the lumberjack looking dude sitting at the back
As a bald man who’s always rocked a beard, I really find watching this video so therapeutic!!! Lucky to have an oval shape growing out for the duck tale
Hi Matty .. I wish you can make a video about shaping beard like Travis Fimmel in Kandahar movie
I always try to do my best for a 5mm beard but I don't know if I'm doing it right 100% but hopefully a tutorial is on the wayyy
When will you be in the Los Angeles Area for an appointment?
Hi Matty, I would greatly appreciate it if you could share what product(s) you use on your hair.
I'm bald and have a rounded face shape. I've found that the best beard for me is somewhere between heavy stubble and a stage 1 beard, paired with my gold aviator frames, it really adds distinctness and character to my face. I've used your videos to learn how to trim and groom my beard.
I have grown massive beards in the past, I can grow a chest-length beard in 3 months, but I find at a certain length the beard gives me bulldog cheeks. You know how bulldogs have those U-shaped cheeks that hang down? That's what I look like with a long beard, it's just a normal beard with bulldog cheeks.
Yeah that’s pretty common. There is always a sweet spot but the short stubble with an angular outline is a great choice!
I became concerned when you didn't show any care for the labiomental groove. I was so waiting for that. Perhaps next time. Nice job.👊🏼
We need more bald men content 🙏🏻 would also love to see you cut a goatee / circle beard
You live in Vancouver?! I recognize the background
Hi, Matty. I get a lot out of your videos, thank you. Apologies if this has already been covered in another video, or comments - is it possible to work towards returning to full thickness (compared to sides and back) one’s thinning head of hair, naturally? If so, what would you recommend please?
Just stumbled across your channel and love the style of your content. Definitely earned a follow. Question however: what about content on different hair types? My beard is somewhere in the realm 4C. And 4C hair can be really susceptible to temperature and breakage due to over combing/styling. Just curious on behalf of other coiled beardom 😂
Great question. I should probably do a video explaining different beard types!!! Thanks for the suggestion!
As a bearded bald/shaved headed dude i think you smashed it out the park with this video! Nice Dixxon Hunter by the way ;) #dixxonnerds
Good eye! Love me some dixxons
Hi Matty, I really like what you're doing but it's always with men with big, full beards. I'd like to see a guide to sparse beards on the cheeks. Indeed, I see different points of view. Some say you should fade your bear and others that you should leave the cheeks longer and shorten the chin. Thanks in advance for your answer if you read me.
Hey Matty! Great video once again! :-) Got a question for you. I have an issue with the neck line. I remember watching one of your videos about it where you said it needs to be about 1 finger higher than the Adam's apple. The problem I have with that is my neck shape. When you look at it from the side, you could almost trace a diagonal line from my chin down to where my neck ends and my torso starts. This means that in order for my beard to accentuate my jaw, I would prefer for my neck line to be just under my chin so that we don't see any hair on my neck but just on my jaw. Other videos I have seen disrecommend doing that because they consider that line to be too high, therefore not very good looking. What should I do then? Hope my description is clear enough. Thanks! 🙂
Aloha Matty! 🤙🏼
Great channel
Thanks so much!
I just had same beard just little more curly and reddish maybe. I just don’t like it.
You made great work absolutely though
Thanks
Hi dude 🤙🏼 how can I find your beard products in France?
Hey Matty, I’ve seen plenty of how to tutorials for long beards and what not but don’t see many I depth tutorials on how to properly shape up a goatee or full van dyke. Can you please help?
❤ from Malaysia 🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾 superb channel 👍👍👍
thanks Matty for your videos
your Dyson supersonic is what it is a professional or a consumer one ?
thanks
I have both… and honestly I can’t tell the difference except the professional one has a longer cord and different nozzle attachemrnts
Thanks @@mattyconradgrooming
Next time you're in Ireland let me know. I just can't seem to get this beast tamed properly.
I'm bald too, and i need a clipper and a trimmer just for my beard. which clipper and trimmer do u recommend. its alot of brands on the market. i don't look through it 😅
Man your good , how much for a house call ? Wish there was someone out here that didn't destroy my beard everytime lol
I’m bald and I’m not totally sure what my face shape is. That said, my growth pattern being only somewhat full on the chin and mustache areas kind of decides things for me haha! Essentially either Van Dyke of various lengths or Goatee of various lengths lol
What about grey hair beards . My husbands beard is full and soft but he’s gotten older so there’s more salt than pepper so to speak when it fades out on the side it looks looks he has no hair there even though he does . He doesn’t want to colour it and neither do I, but it sorts looks weird , is there anything we could do?
Seems my beard has two different textures. It’s soft on the front and underneath the neck and around the jaw line. It’s very very kinky and I can’t get the fullness I desire.
Great video! I think that guy at the end would be much better looking with a lower length beard, really stronger in the chin area but more "compact", because those hairs below the chin are curling back, making it look like he tried to have a more prominent chin, but couldn't
Good call!
Hi Matty, can you give my advice if I will send you my face photo?
Folliclely Challenged and Face Shape Correction... lol
How do I master my moustache line and top face line
Super 👌
Is using a beard straightener brush good for your beard?
Could you do a video on Barber terminology? I mean, so that I can easier describe to my barber what kind of haircut I'd like to have
Great idea
@@mattyconradgrooming you could info which you already explained in this video only more focused on hairstyle instead of beardstyle
What if face shape is upside down oval..then which hairstyle will fit
Marty is the best
Can’t wait to meet him!
can you sculpt a beard how jake paul’s beard is ? And if u want an additional content for that kind of video, u can also do, trimming long beard down to jake paul size beard. Thanks man 👍🫶🏾
Sorry I'm a bit late but I wanted to know if I don't fade my sideburns where should they start and how to measure perfectly?
Try to keep them slightly lower than the part where your ear connects to your head
So, what if you have a rectangular face shape, want a longer beard but some kind of compensation in width without the fly away look. And just as sleek as your bald example.
What style would you go for?
I recommend keeping it leaner on the sides. And shorter with natural outlines. Longer beards tend to elongate the shape and a rectangular face shape is already slightly elongated.
@@mattyconradgrooming so there's no way to compansate the length of a face by searching for a wider hair/beardstyle?
(Or a higher cheekline)
What temperature do you use on your hairdryer? Hot, medium, cool?
Depends how curly the beard is. If you need to change the shape of the hair or if it’s wiry and coarse use more heat
Are you a navy vet? Which one?
i love it's
Do you have video for those with low beard lines
I'll work on that
Am i the only one who was confused about Matty wear a other man shirt at 13:45 minutes. I dont know why i stick to it...😅 Really good video btw like every video you did so far ! Thanks again for that !🎉
You addressed every shaped head but a "prem head", I kid you not! A number of years back I was sitting at a friends place when she turned and said, you were born prematurely, "how'd you pick that I asked"? You have a prem head was her reply! Hat's don't suit us and I must grow my beard out slightly wider so as to cover the slight squish in the middle of my head just above my cheeks.
I have never heard that term! Thanks for teaching me something new!
@@mattyconradgrooming Mate, I have heard others say this before, "that I have taught them something that they did not know". But in this case it is a trivial thing. The most important thing that I can share with another is that God is real, and that Jesus died for our sin, This is the most important, the most vital thing that my heart desires to say to another. My hope is that you know Him! Have a great day!
Having trouble finding your survey?
Agree with face shape but with us bald guys you can see our head shape far more than you guys with hair so that head shape has to play a part as well.
Bald and bearded is the best style even if you aren’t balding in my opinion
I’m trying to go for a ducktail beard but my beard is weak on the cheeks. Because of this I’m kinda going for the Jason momoa ducktail look. Got any advice how to create that look?
Yeah check out the brogue video I did. Very good for that pointed style.
@@mattyconradgrooming Thanks for getting back to me! Thats an excellent beard style but I'm not sure my beard pattern would suit that or not. My beard pattern is more like Ragnar Lothbrok from Vikings with a very low cheek line. Would a Brogue suit that beard pattern or should I stick to a ducktail? Thanks again for your advice
Wish we could get Victory products in New Zealand. Hel, wish Matty would swing over!
Oh yeah. Thinning on top guy, in my early 50's. I've had a goatee for 20 years and recently (since I started watching Matty) started trying to grow a beard. It's, ahhh, being interesting shall we say? lol
I hate it when I'm starting to lose my hair, my beard doesn't seem to fill out like most of my friends😭 it's all patchy..
What are you doing to combat this? Tried derma rolling and using beard oil, taking biotin, etc?
What shape would say, joe Rogan wear?
I tried this new barber the other week. Worst mistake I've made. I asked for a trim to get rid of my split ends, just a 1/4 in. Bastard took off 7in. I was pissed
lol, where were you?
I would pay solid money for Someone like Matty to guide me through what's best for me. I try, I've gone to others to try, I'm always unsatisfied. I clean shave my head so I really need something as a staple for my face. If anyone knows anyone with the experience and nerd stuff to get the best with what you work with, I will take them!! Shoot me names.
Where are you located?
@@mattyconradgroomingI'm between Pensacola and Tallahassee in Florida.
Matty, i think..."if the beard hair has a tremendous impact in the perception of the style and shape of a person, the head hair has the same importance in the perception of that aspects too!" So... Is not the same the shape of the head with or without the hair...
For us, "the bald guys" always the top is round.
In that manner what you think is the best beard option for us to use?😂
I would Love if we had someone this good over here. My last long beard i got trimed back and i left looking like a fucking billy goat so had to get rid of the length and start again,
Done it my self for a wedding a few weeks ago and i was walking trough London and some random guy on the Tube Complemented me on i was chuffed that i must have done a good Job :D
Nice work!!
I'm not bald, I'm follically challenged -- I need that on a T-shirt
Maybe printed on a hat?
You’re giving us too much credit - we need to know all your tools! What type of pick is that? What type of brush is that?
Does long hair look good on guys? Or do you need to have a specific face shape or be handsome?
IMO long hair looks good with facial hair. Without facial hair it makes you look feminine.
There is a long hair look for many different face shapes but the grow out phase is toughest on round or oblong face shapes
@@mattyconradgrooming Thanks.
The hair on my cheeks is pretty thin, so I feel that need to keep it longer to look decent. So I have a tough time on the sideburn/fade
Absolutely. If that is the case do whatever feels best for you.
What else can fix this Beardiful beard 😜😊
and i was expecting you to shave your head for the video... 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂. Never say never
@@mattyconradgrooming 🤣🤣🤣
Matty, let’s see some color. As an African American man here in Texas, the area I live in is mostly Caucasian barbers like yourself. Some are great and some have no clue how to cut/trim/style African American beard hair. Man, I wish every barber had your beard skills.
Great idea. I’ll see what I can do 🙏🏻
@@mattyconradgrooming your a legend!
I'm not folically challenged, I'm follically emancipated.
No shampoo , product, blow dry, gel blah blah. 😎
Appreciate the art, but way too much maintenance
I don't like the square beard. I think opinions will vary on this.
Completely understandable… everyone has a preference! Thanks for watching anyway
I don't want to blow dry my beard...
Nobody is making you 🤷🏻♂️
@mattyconradgrooming if the shape of the beard is cut after blow drying a beard...what happens next time around after a beard washing without a follow-up blow-drying? Will it still have the same shape, or will blow drying have to become a part of the routine moving forward?
NO clue what my face shape is. (Phone thumbnail here is not a good way). I don't go to a barber or salon and can't ask.
I’m sorry but I’m not sure what the point of your comment is?
follikly challenged :-D
