49:39 The haunting presence this shot of the little ghost engine gives off is incredible, i really wish they'd kept it in. I just love pouring through the fandom to see all the headcannons for who the ghost engine was and how he could work in series lore. My personal idea i think works almost seamlessly is that since Awdry had a 3rd 0-4-0 in the RWS like Rheneas & Dolgoch called *Jennings* i see no reason why another 4-4-2 sibling like Skarloey & Talyllyn couldn't of existed as well called *Fletcher.* Here's the story: Back in 1864 after Skarloey & Rheneas we're first built by Fletcher, Jennings & Co. and sold off to Sodor, the factory some time later built another 0-4-0 like Rheanas named "Jennings" after one of the company's owners respectively, and soon after was also sent to Sodor to work on the Mid-Sodor. Years later in 1945 came the day the SR fell on hard times, both Skarloey & Rheneas we're struggling to make meets end and work was declining rapidly, until the day Skarloey finally wore out and was retired to the shed, leaving Rheneas to run the line alone. With no one else to help him the manager ordered a 3rd new engine from Fletcher, Jennings & Co., another 0-4-0 like Skarloey named "Fletcher" named after the 2nd owner of the company like Jennings was. After arriving to Sodor he was put to work running goods traffic while Rheneas took care of passengers. For nearly 7 years the two engines worked well together, but conditions of the line were starting to show and due to the war efforts most parts of it we're difficult to maintain, but work had to go regardless.... that is until the fateful night when Fletcher was making his way home from the quarry, due to the swampy mists surrounding the bridge it was impossible to see a loose rail joint, Fletcher non the wiser hit the snag, tipped over and plunged to his death; taking the lives of his crew with him. When he was reported missing late the next day everyone search party found evidence of the broken rail and that something had made contact with it.... the conclusion to Fletcher's whereabouts was all too simple. Workman searched the waters below for days, while the bodies of the crew were recovered... there was mysteriously no sign of the little engine's remains. Further attempts to find him were soon called off. Skarloey & Rheneas we're devastated by their friend's loss. As time went on the railway continued to struggle, that is until Rheneas' valve gear jammed and kicked the bucket himself. We all know the story of the SR from there... until Season 5 when Rusty told us this story to spook Duncan. Fletcher's ghost is forever doomed to haunt the bridge, trapped in an endless cycle forced to relive his tragic last moments alive, never to make it home.

It's just so pretty that *ONE* deleted shot, like, we could've had a story like a sequel sort-of to "The Spotless Record" where perhaps Gordon is wearing himself out in the beginning and thus needs to be sent to the works, kinda like in "Time for Trouble" but instead, Topham tries to find other engines who are capable of pulling the express just fine after realizing that even James and Henry are also getting rather worn out from pulling the Express, so he then trials Arthur, Gordon is at first a little skeptical about this giving the fact that he thinks tank engines *SHOULDN'T* pull Express trains, and Arthur shows it by struggling and failing to pull it at first by not stopping on the station's platforms, thus the passengers complain about it and Arthur is very sad about the fact that he failed to pull the express, it's not until Thomas teaches and tells the big red tank engine the express' stops that Arthur tries again after asking Topham for another chance, and after finally impressing Topham as well as Henry, James, and *ESPECIALLY* Thomas has Topham announce Arthur to pull the Express alongside the 3 big engines, and so, Arthur continues to haul fish trains across the port and Brendam Docks, but whenever someone else is in charge of the fish trains, he pulls the express to help out with the Wild Nor'wester. Ik, the story is just another generic at best, but I swear, if you just rework it a bit, you'll have a wonderful story that might fit the standards of Season 7.

26:10 - I don’t think anyone has actually considered this clip from Toby and the flood until I made a deleted scenes video on Toby and the flood where I combined the deleted scenes with the original episode and included that clip! Until I made that video everyone assumed it was from A surprise for Percy.
What makes this footage really interesting to me is that I find myself really curious about Sodor from an operational perspective. I'd love it if there was a dedicated game or scenario pack for Train Simulator or Trainz that explored that, with a full map to accompany it. Just seeing the trains running around is fascinating by itself, which set the model era apart from the rest of the show.
All that extra footage from season five really makes you wonder what additional dialogue was meant to go with it, and how long the episode would’ve been if everything remained intact.
After I saw James on the narrow gauge tracks in the red ballon song, I was wonder what he was thinking? Like he must be saying to himself, how did I get here? 😂

I find the magic railroad part of the video the most interesting. I wonder at what point in production did they decide to swap Thomas for a CGI double in the magic railroad segments. The framing is too good for it to be just a reference. Heck, seems like in the workprint they were half-way through testing the new CGI look, at 1:01:14 (And I'll argue the shot before that, too! Very interesthing also that they recorded and used the wheels of the small scale Thomas models instead of their bigger scale ones, or CGI even. They look so small and tiny and toyish compared to every other wheels shot in the entire run of the model series.
Wow! Series 5 wasn’t shy on filming a lot! 😱 Great Video on the deleted scenes of Thomas & Friends from 1 until 7! 👏🏻 It so nice that these clips were put into good use and weren’t bin! 😄👍🏻
Considering the amount of footage from series 5, maybe there should be a special version of series 5 of Thomas The Tank Engine called this: Thomas The Tank Engine & Friends - Series 5: The Extended Edition
I thought the first deleted scenes video was good, but now you’re going in depth with the whole classic era. You’re spoiling us with these deleted scenes Tug and I love it.
Goodluck on your marriage Tug. I'm sure others will produce other critical analysis Thomas content during you momentous occasion ❤ You deserve a break.
It really would be intriguing if there was a way to integrate all this footage back in to their respective episodes. Imagine if there was no need to stay within the 4 minute, 30 second time limit. I'd love to see 'extended cuts,' perhaps with the voices done in the 'TUGS'/'Thomas & the Magic Railroad' style, where each character has their own voice but also with a narrator giving an intro/outro. Especially for Season 5 where the stories were no longer based on the Awdry books, I bet those episodes could be made into something really unique. Of course, one would also need to locate the original scripts to have an accurate guide.
6:00 "That sounds like a steam engine," he thought. The "HISSSSSSSSS" came again. Also 6:00 "Hold back! Hold back!", whispered S. C. Ruffey, "and pass the word to the others." The silly trucks giggled. But Oliver knew what to do. There was plenty of sand on the rails, and his wheels gripped splendidly. He gave a great heave. "Oooh!", groaned S. C. Ruffey, "I don't like this!"
Great job on this update version from the previous video seeing some of the many deleted and unused footage from the both the classic model series and from the film Thomas and the Magic Railroad makes me love and appreciate the hard work and dedication that went into this wonderful series thanks Unlucky Tug for sharing this great compilation of my favorite blue tank engine 👍💙🚂
44:17 "WHOOOOOOAAAA!!!", said Thomas. His driver tried to put on the brakes, but Thomas couldn't stop. "WHOOOOAAAA, BOY!!!" The stationmaster called ahead. "Clear the lines! It's a runaway train!"
It disappointed me when the TATMR workprint initially leaked as a small portion of it was model stuff. I would enjoy the film a lot more (even if it wasn't written well) if it was more model-heavy. Edit: we were robbed of Arthur pulling the express >:(
Through the station they thundered. Disaster lay ahead. 3:00 Something sticky splashed all over James. He had run into two tar wagons and was black from smokebox to cab. He was more dirty than hurt. But the tar wagons and some trucks were all to pieces.
I remembered seeing that crash from Dirty Objects in that truck song. I think I may have liked that shot more because the tar wagon coming up to the screen used to scare me.

*GOD* the shot of Diesel 10 *ZOOMING* past the mainline at 1:00:36 goes hard.
Why didn't they kept that in the movie?
Even the deleted scenes for season 5 get so much love it’s like a big chunk of the video god it really is the best season
Well I don’t consider it the best, but it is cool that it takes up the majority of the video.
@@joshuaW5621 well season 5 is my favorite season and seeing how much they made this almost 30 years ago
@@lordbrickmasterproductions3723 that’s okay with me.
Good to see we've got most of Chumish's deleted scenes!
Arthur pulling the red express coaches is just amazing. Especially because just over a week ago I saw the real engine pulling similar coaches.
I loved the original deleted scene video but then it got removed after your original channel got terminated and was not able to find it on your archive or a reupload. I am so happy thar you are doing this again!
These guys had the best job in the world making this show
Nice to see this archive updated and preserved now.
Congratulations on the Marriage Tug! Best wishes to you and your wife
I don’t know what it is but there’s something so wonderful about all of these shots.
These deleted scenes shown how Thomas looked so fantastic with the model sets.
The funny thing is if you have the VHS tapes from like the early 2000s or late 90s of Thomas and Friends, some of the deleted scenes and images are used on the back of those
I love the deleted scenes, especially the ones from Season 5.
Ya know, I always knew the Thomas music was magical, but listening to all of this music back to back is truly something special. The deleted scenes are great, but I’m reliving my childhood just listening to the soundtrack. What a masterpiece
It’s awesome seeing things that the producers didn’t want us to see
59:28 Happy 84th Birthday to the late Peter Fonda 🥲
26:10 - I don’t think anyone has actually considered this clip from Toby and the flood until I made a deleted scenes video on Toby and the flood where I combined the deleted scenes with the original episode and included that clip! Until I made that video everyone assumed it was from A surprise for Percy.
But the film slates say this scene was made For Toby and the Flood.
This video took me back to my childhood it’s amazing after nearly after 80 years of the show and we’re still finding things like this
Greatly appreciate your smooth cutting between the music video and rushes.
You are the best!!! You are the pride of the Thomas fandom!
Thank you for uploading a bit earlier on friday lately so people in Europe get to enjoy your content on a friday afternoon!
Alot of these deleted scenes we're incredible! It's sad for fault of the episode timers and etc they cutted them
Now I wish season 5 had a slightly longer runtime so there was more story to some of the episodes.
I’ve been waiting on this one Season 5 looks insane
All that extra footage from season five really makes you wonder what additional dialogue was meant to go with it, and how long the episode would’ve been if everything remained intact.
After I saw James on the narrow gauge tracks in the red ballon song, I was wonder what he was thinking? Like he must be saying to himself, how did I get here? 😂
Thanks for recovering this I remember watching this and thinking oh the footage from the music video was meant for this or that context1:44 WAIT A SECOND
Idk why but Thomas & Friends deleted scenes are so amazing It's like looking at more pieces in the story👏
Nick! This is excellent, you have been an inspiration for my deleted scenes videos that I made. Keep up the good work mate! Thanks for your videos, I have so much fun watching them.
Some of those unused panning shots around the bend with the rocks were so pretty. It's a shame they never got used.
yayyy i love when you release videos so i can listen to them on my 10 hour shift
Seeing all these deleted scenes makes me appreciate how much work went into a single episode, let alone an entire season.
It’s nice to see some deleted scenes from music videos without the lyrics and steam cloud.
These deleted scenes are very awesome in my opinion
The Thomas music really made this a relaxing thing to watch, despite how long it was.
What was over an hour of footage felt like half an hour: thanks for putting this all together!
I love the thumbnail so detailed
They definitely had some inside joke with that duck, putting it in tons of scenes.
I like how you do a little Part 2 of your previous video, but a better version of one of your older videos!
13:55 rest in pepperonis to the fish.
Man two great videos within just 1 week of eachother.
LADS WAKE UP, THE UNLUCKY TUG HAS RELEASED A NEW VIDEO !
Those scenes of Thomas from Thomas, Percy and the Mail Train are epic; a shame they were never repurposed
I really like the unintended side effect of hearing the evolution of the music in the series over the course of the video.
You’re spoiling us with these deleted scenes Tug and I love it.
how did you discover unlucky tug
@@omarhamzi-fo6mj I saw his old season 7 review in my recommendations in 2016.
The Haunted Henry shots are fantastic. Great atmosphere. The buzz they must have had. when they shot the series.
43:56 My fav theme 1
47:43 my fav theme 2
17:34 RUNAWAY
48:59 LITTLE GHOST ENGINE THEME

I think the biggest surprise was that the bridge over the waterfall (10:50) is *double tracked*
Goodluck on your marriage Tug.
I'm sure others will produce other critical analysis Thomas content during you momentous occasion ❤ You deserve a break.
Never knew that 'Season 3 - Bridge over Waterfall' set was a double track.
I REALLY hope we eventually find the Season 4 B-Roll.
Reminds of the old roll along Thomas delete scenes from the hit era almost 15 years ago since 2009-2010 but this one is even better
What are you doing? Escaping
Go on, said Duck. Well done boy! Well done!
This one way watch Thomas as well as listen to the soundtrack of classic Thomas.
Man I have fond memories of watching the original. So this is awesome! Love it!
One of the Surprise for Percy deleted scenes that didn't make it that I found interesting was that they used Mavis to push the trucks up the hill
Edit: we were robbed of Arthur pulling the express >:(
Tug was right about the released version being better.
Also this shot at 2:28 would have been so cool to see in the episode.
The escape theme from Escape is an absolute banger so is the theme from Rusty to the rescue! They are masterpieces by Mike and Junior!!
I've been listening to this in the background just bc I forgot how much I LOVE the og soundtrack.
However, I was watching this late last night and the theme for Duncan gets Spooked played around midnight... Chills
Perfect. Now I can binge it
Awesome,more deleted scenes.
I finally got round to watching this. Amazing compilation, and the music slaps! You can't beat classic era Thomas for music and cinematography.
GG i missed this watching the railway seires vid Well Played Tug
