Quick scratching demo with the DDJ-REV1 from Pioneer, takes a bit of practice if you come from the traditional turntable, but does the job beautifully considering the price :)
This exactly what I needed! Some true scratching on these. Been looking found only mixing not true full on scratching and this way. Definitely gonna put in more work.
Thanks ! Yes i was surprised with the versatility of this thing considering its price as i only bought it because i did not want to move the technics and mixer to every gig ! dope little controller 😀
Awesome cuts! Any comment on how the channel faders feel for scratching? Are they quite loose like a scratch mixer or do they have more resistance to them? I get the impression non-turntablist DJs usually prefer the channel faders to have more resistance to them but I prefer them loose for scratching. Thanks!
Thanks !! they are tighter than the cross fader but you could still manage i think, cant really help you on this one i am not a channel fader guy myself 😁
@@youlbriner9915 quick question. Since the Rev 1 is not a full pitch slider does it skip bpm accuracy? Biggest gripe about the SR2 I had. Thinking of a Rev 1 as a back up but curious if you have to fiddle with the pitch to get the bpm indentical for both virtual decks? Thanks
@@DjTecniq wow man i have no idea 🤣 I just use it for my gigs so i dont have to move my turntable and mixer, everything is set up inside serato i never touch the sliders 🤷
I cannot transform on the real thing either so really cant tell you 🤣 But i dont see why you could not everything is possible on the controller it just take a bit of adapatation
I bought the DDJ-200 4 years ago and stayed purely on scratching. Now, I want to finally upgrade because I find that equipment basic. A friend of mine who is a turntablist told me that the DDJ REV1 was perfect in the price range I was looking for (300-400€). Is it a good choice? If yes, how is the Crossfader, is it good?
It definitely does the job, for the price range I think its unbeatable ! That being said it is still very basic, very light and the jogwheels are a bit light also, but you get that classic turntable layout which is dope ! So yeah i am a fan of this machine but i will always come back to my turntable and mixer 😀
@@youlbriner9915 Thanks for the reply!!! Well, apart from the REV1, what would be the equipment you would recommend to me even if it was above the price I'm looking for? Just really out of curiosity.
@@LostWisdom_ If you are really looking for equipment for scratching and turntablism i would recommend a turntable and a mixer, you can have really good second hand deals nowadays !
yo what progrsam r u using ive tried serato and vdj im almost positive i have the setting wrong can you please help i love the rev1 i just feel i dont have the setting right
Quality bit of scratching. Id love to get back into scratching and take the leap into digital. What's involved in getting these to work properly I tried using one before but the samples it comes with out of the box were more like pressing a button and it played someone else's scratch I just want a digital version of my old super duck breaks and a freshhhhhh sample 😊
The best scratcher I've heard on this REV1 so far!
thank you 🔥
I second that. Great stuff!

A bit strange coming from the turntable but definitely does the trick !
Holy F**K, Imagine how good this guy is on turntables ! FRESH.

Nice cuts 🔪! Mine comes Friday. Seems to let you cut pretty sharp! Hopefully the crossfader lasts. Had to replace one on the SR I used to have.

I don’t understand how u have the best continuously playing because when I touch the jog wheel my entire track just stops
Thats strange ! when you touch one or the other jogwheel the sounds react to it but when you release it it should play normally !
@@youlbriner9915 oh okay, I just impulsively bought one 30 min ago because the into the spider verse song had some in it and I thought it was cool
Where to get that samples for scratching?
They are very classical samples you can fond them pretty easily on various breakbeats !
Yo soy hamster se puede invertir el crossfader ?
I think this can be done inside Serato
What computer you use for this?
i m on a mac from 2019

Dope scratch btw!
