The person criticized by America and Europe is valuable to us. He came to office by winning the elections held for 22 years in the ballot boxes where there were four or five opposition officials compared to one AK Party official. It is the decision of the Turkish people. Nobody has the right to criticize.

Corruption is worldwide. The European governments are a good example of this. Italy, UK, France Germany, Spain Balkans, eastern Europe all those politicans are dodgy. Projects go over budget. Building contracts are tendered and politicians take bungs for awarding contracts to chums who line their pockets or put donations for political campaigns. I really am sympathetic to the Turkish families. They are so hardworking and good people. Shame on the bad politicians. 5he gov workers voting for Erdogan no doubt get well looked after by him at the expense of ordinary Turkish people and God bless them. I must admit I like Besikas now.

I was traveling through Turkey from May into June this year and witnessed Erdogan re-elections celebrations as well Galatasaray S.K. being crowned Turkish league championships celebrations both being immensely popular and the celebrations were infectious and next level crazy. I also watched pre-election rallies and nothing can compare with the enthusiasm and support for Erdogan's AK Parti. Also you can see so many infrastructure development and business and housing developments everywhere. Just taking a bus ride from Antalya to Cappadocia makes you realize the scale of development taking place being it in industrial or agricultural sector. Watching this video makes me think that this is just a case of sour grapes and they wanted the opposition to win. Go Turkey go what l mostly saw was development, unity and progress. The other side that this video portrays is much less of factor although it is visible in certain parts it is still mostly inconsequential.

Old generation in Turkey can clearly remember governments lasting only few weeks. No social balance and security. Constant uncertainty in daily life as well as pressure from outside forces to make all the people in charge to be "YES" man and serve the interest of west, mainly USA.
After the founder of Ataturk, Turkey has gone through terrible times. Main reason was that malty party system serves the interest of west therefore Turkey was not able to make any progress. Can not even get a law out of parliament. Despite some short comings, current management is serving the "LONG TERM" interest of Turkey. There might be some wrong doings but at least people feels safe. Hope things will be better and long term goals will be achieved.

💔 It’s crazy how people abroad from living in Turkey, are pro-Erdogan even though they don’t know how it is to live under his regime. The biggest Turkish cities who have millions of citizens are very much against Erdogan and his fascist regime. We are losing freedom each year and cannot even speak our mind freely. Many of our ethnic and religious minority groups have a harder time living in Turkey. Our new generation don’t even know a different and free regime, because this president has been in power for almost 25 years. He literally controls news outlets, so the non educated Turkish people in other parts of Turkey literally support him and only see his ‘good deeds’ around the times of voting for 95% of tv screen time. That is absolutely insane!!

Did a fighter plane from the West (NATO) shoot down a Russian fighter plane? That's what the Turkish pilot did. The whole West knelt before Putin. You forget that. Europe did not want gas and oil from Africa because of Russia. The similarity between Erdogan and Putin is that THEY DID NOT DESTROY AFRICA CAUSING WARS AND KILLING PEOPLE LIKE THE WEST DID. I spent three full months in Turkey from June to September 2023. Despite the fact the Turks complain about the inflationary cost of living, many of them have short holidays domestically and in the neighbouring countries. The rent is extremely speculative that's why the souvenir shops in Istanbul are vehemently aggresive and pagnacious accousting the tourists. It's detrimental to tourism. Another major complaint is the constant influx of migrants from Syria, Afghanistan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Russia, Ukraine, and Central Asia. They say Erdogan is a political Muslim, meaning he wants the votes desperately so that he accepts them open handedly. Gaining Turkish citizenship is not difficult. Buy property. Whatever the truth is, Turks are heavily influenced by Islam, be secular or religuous. Superstitions, pseudoarcgeology, and deep rooted ideology based on Islam is apparent. The economic progress is the top priority on the majority Turks. When it's achieved without heavily and hideously influenced by Russia and the US, Turkey will achieve the own miracle. They can do it only by maintaining secularism. Learn from Singapore.

Thanks, that was insightful. One of my female relatives was thinking of buying a property in Turkey and retiring there, that was back in the 1980s. She had grown up in an abusive (incest, physical family) fundamental Christian (Roman Catholic) family, had been packed off at a boarding school in a convent at the age of 6, and had been locked up there from the age of 16, the family wanted her to become a nun (since she was 'damaged goods' as she'd been a victim of incest from the age of 4). She ran away with a guy (he owned his own shop and delivered food to the nuns) when she was 19, he turned out to be a wife beater. She managed to get a divorce a dozen years later, worked as an undeclared au pair (i.e. slave) for a wealthy family in exchange of accommodation and managed to get a spot on a training programme to become a nurse. The programme was aimed at 'mature students', and they could get free housing (in dorms) and food in exchange for working at the hospital at the weekend. For that lady, it was paradise: her abusive ex husband and family couldn't get in! She graduated and started working as a nurse in her late 30s but could not get a mortgage and had to make backdated pension contributions as she had been undeclared during the dozen years or so when she'd worked for her husband, i.e. she hadn't built pension entitlement (in France you need 42 years). So the idea was to retire in a cheaper country overseas, she visited Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece and Turkey and liked Turkey berst of all. She was spending all her holidays there and had learnt the language, she planned to buy a flat in Anatolia. I often wonder if she went ahead with it. If she did so, she must have been so disappointed with the way Turkey changed over the last 3 decades. According to her, it used to be a secular society, safe for women.

Poverty rate is all time low
Only around 14% live below poverty line
135 million people were pulled out of poverty in last five years

It is disheartening to observe that, a century after Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's reforms, Turkey has yet to fully realize a secular, free society that transcends the constraints of religious dogma and fanaticism of Islam. However, this observation does not necessarily predict the nation's endurance or demise. Typically, societies that attain advanced levels of civilization may appear to be more susceptible to decline than those perceived as less refined and barbaric.
