Thank you for posting this! I was trying to explain it to friends. One really has to experience this for themselves though. Watching it like this unfortunately loses the depth and immersion. Like taking a 3d movie, and making it 2d.
Hey UploadVR, just so you guys know this only uploaded in 480p - was this an accident or does Quest 3 only allow you to screencapture your playspace at this low resolution?
Good question. I used default settings and uploaded the raw video. Looks like it might only do 480p when the phone records it. I'll investigate further.
@KyleRiesenbeck that's interesting! I wonder if there are settings in the phone app that can be tweaked? I didn't notice the low res while looking at it on my phone, but it was glaring on my big screen tv. That's either a communication/UI issue or a technical issue that it seems like Meta should address.
I played something similar on my 3DS years ago called face raiders, the novelty lasted for all of 10 minutes. Is this the crap Meta are pushing to sell headsets? VR is a house of cards built on gimmicks, no wonder so many headsets are gathering dust.
