probably a couple years late 😁 but i really just wanted to thank you for this video, i just added this video directly to my homescreen. I'm actually in the process of getting into the hobby. I started by getting a few cars first to practice the drilling part - and saved the cars i want to customize. Now that i feel comfortable doing that, i've been looking for a video just like this to get me where i need to go. again, a couple years late, but seriously, i cannot thank you enough for making this video, and some of your other how to's video.
Thank you very much for the kind words! Super stoked this helped! ❤️👊😁👍
The fact people are still coming to this video to this day says so much about this community and this whole video in general!!
And also how you're actually still answering!
Keep up the good work man 💯

This is what I want my z to end out looking, I've got a patina look but not to many smaller tools, I have ally eh paints, the hobby knifes, just the smaller, I've made my own aero kit, I genuinely like customising, and hope that one day can collect and customise like you and on the detail such as yourself, thanknyou for this
Thank you for the kind words! Just start off small and figure out what you need work with. If you're already making Aero kits, it sounds like you're off and running! Ill definitely make some more customizing vids. 😁
@@HonestDiecast yeah, I mean I would send pictures but I don't know where, they're only made out of little wooden stickes, sanded and glues then painted but they look good, would you like my email? So I can get into contact with thr premium thing

Hey Dave, thanks for the ride my friend! Get ready for an addiction, happy to help with the check-off list! 😁👊🙏❤
I use 9/64 bit for the button drill out, a good one for about 4.50 , # 50 to drill the post, and a 2/56 tap 1/8 × 2/56 button head screw in black or silver!!! I have a small shop in simpsonville South Carolina called simple kustoms!!!! Lol
Thank you for sharing, Sharon! 😁
Excelente vídeo
Gracias amigo! Look forward to more customizing vids soon! Ive concentrated mainly on hunting videos but will post some more customization videos shortly! 😁❤👊

I've been customizing 164th scale for a while now and kind of ran into builders block so I look to different channels such as yours for inspiration I read in the description if anyone has a video request to put it here in the comments so I would love to see you do a old cabover car hauler (rat rod or clean cut) THANKS IN ADVANCE !
Thanks TJ, I hope you find the vids useful! As for the suggestion, Id love to give one a try! Thank you! 👊😁👍

Wow cool u r awesome

Good stuff, I clear lacquered a shined up redline n soaked it in rite dye with hot water still not adhering??? Mabe let it soak for a few hours?
Maybe the lacquer is not allowing it to adhere. 🤔
Subbed
Thank you Strange Cat! 😁👊🙏
Hello! My mom recently visited NYC and she got me one of those pullback ’57 Chevrolet Bel Air’s, but it’s dolled up with generic checkerboard “TAXI” decals, even though it’s not a Checker Marathon…
I recently found some pictures of a 1957 Chevrolet One Fifty in actual NYC garb for reference. I was thinking we could meet in the middle and convert it to a Two Ten with the curved trim along the fins.
The thing is, I’m not really trying to get into this hobby, so I was wondering if you knew somewhere I could ship it to customize for me? Thanks in advance!
Thats a good question, Noah. I would offer assistance and a go at it but Im backlogged on customs. Perhaps hit up Rodney at RD Custom Diecast or Pete at Old Man Diecast? 🤔
I have a mecury cougar exactly like the green one with flames
Very nice, Seby! 😁👍
First I'd like to say I'm loving the channel a lot of helpful tips and cool builds !👍 Where can you buy the micron calligraphy pens? thank you in advance.
TJ, awesome to hear! Thanks for being a part of it and Im happy you enjoy! You can find the Micron 005's at Hobby Lobby and Michaels! If you have neither close to you, you can also find them on Amazon (there should be a link in yhe vid description). Hope that helps my friend! 👊😁👍
Thanks my friend can't wait for the next video!
Hey man loved the video! I have one question, what size brass tube do you use for the .032 axles?
Thanks for the kind words Eraticc! Im not sure as I don't have the package anymore, but Im certain its one of the two smallest sizes K&S Metals offers for the brass tubing. Keep in mind you dont have to use the tubing AND brass rod/axles unless you're doing some pretty custom stuff. Most of the time the brass rod/axles will work alone. I don't use brass tubing with rods very much, most of the time its just the axles I make and thats it. Sorry I don't have a better answer my friend. 😖😁👊
@@HonestDiecast thanks for getting back to me man! Much appreciated for the response I will figure something out
You got it! I may go shopping for some customs supplies and I will check. I honestly need some more myself! 😁👊
@@HonestDiecast ok thank you man, it would be awesome of you to reply if you do get some!
You got it man! Ill shop this weekend and find the tubing! 😁👊
Will this work on NASCAR diecast? NASCAR did make a Hot Wheels line and I would like to do some wheel swaps because the axles on some of the cars are bent out of shape. Don't really want to do any painting yet. Just swapping tires.
Its possible Evan. As long as the body is riveted like HotWheels and Matchbox, this instructional guide will certainly work. Unless the rivets are bigger/smaller, then you'll just have to adjust the size of the drill bits/tap/screws accordingly. 😁👊
Thanks for the tips I was wondering how to cut and put back together diecast I'm going to make a custom mustang panel using a 65 mustang convertible and a poison pinto cutting the poison pinto off at the door and the below the a pillar then cutting the mustang convertible off at the doors then putting them together is it better to use JB weld or crazy glue to put them back together and which chassis should I use to put it back on I'm thinking about using the poison pinto because it's going to be more of that than the mustang get back to me
That sounds super intensive but very cool! Good luck JC, happy the vid helped my friend! 😁👊
@@HonestDiecast what's better to use JB weld or super glue
JC, either should work but both have pro's and cons. The JB weld is stronger but getting it to leak down around the post may be difficult. This was my primary method for gluing when I used to do it. Super glue is pretty strong and should leak down and create a better bond. Both should work fine when done properly.
If you have not checked out my how-to's on drilling and tapping, maybe give those a check and see if screws would be the best way for you. This is the primary way I do my customs now. 😁👍
ua-cam.com/video/YLDnII408p4/v-deo.html
new to hotwheels customs , wanted to ask where do get the hot wheel stand/holder to paint ?not sure what's its called.
Sure thing Brandon, its called "helping hands" and you can find them at Hobby Lobby or on Ebay. Welcome to your new addiction my friend! 👊😁👍
@@HonestDiecast thank you so much !! quick question haha last question what paint do you use? recently bought Walmart spray paint it didn't do the job
Any suggestions on what to use to shave door handles
For door handles Id probably use a file then some sand paper to smooth it over. 😁👊👍
I used small yogurt cups with lacquer paint & the cup melted! Lacquer is a hot paint & clear. Use lacquer paint with lacquer clear. Lacquer clear will melt other paints
I have one of them cars
Where do you get your screws? I've been looking on Amazon for M3x3mm screws and the ones that popped up is "M3x3mm Flat Phillips Head Hard Drive Screw".
You can find them in the bulk section at Ace Hardware Ken! In black and stainless. 3mm×.050, get the shortest ones they offer! 😁👊
@@HonestDiecast Thank you so much for the fast reply! I'll go tomorrow. My friend gave me some of his old diecast collections that has Hot Wheels, Matchbox, and Johnny Lightnings, and I want to restore a few of them after practicing on some old fantasy cars.
You got it my friend! Just happened to be on so happy to reply! 😁👊
Whats the best paint in your opinion for painting diecast bodies?
Honestly for common paint, I really like Krylon Fusion Frank. Its a paint/primer, it sticks, looks good, and it comes in a ton of cool colors. You can find it at Walmart and Ace Hardware! 😁👊
Paint and tampo removal
What do you use for paint remover from original paint
Chico, I use Rustoleum AirCraft Remover. You can find it at Auto Zone. 😁👊
@@HonestDiecast thanks 👍🏻🙏🏻
Is acetone melting plastic windows on diecast models ?
Pretty sure acetone is not good for anything plastic. Itll surely damage if its submerged.
From where you get the tires
I primarily use real rider donors, but I also use some aftermarket. Monoblock, KRE Auto, and Vancity Diecast are a few I recommend! 👊😁👍
What brand of rims do you use
I primarily use real riders off premiums but I also use MonoBlocks, KRE Auto, and some lesser known wheel brands. 👊😁👍
What do you use to remove the cars original paint job?
I use Rustoleum Aircraft Stripper. You can find it at Autozone for about $17. 😁👊
What do you use to remove the old paint
Here you go Christian! 👊😁👍 ua-cam.com/video/YApEDXvqdUQ/v-deo.html
Where do you get your replacement wheels?
I use Real Rider Wheels, Pandas Custom Diecast, Mini Mod GT, and Vancity Diecast! 😁👊
@@HonestDiecast are those websites where you get your wheels
Cheezitz, I usually get my wheels off real rider donors, but occasionally Ill use Monoblock, KRE Auto, and a few others. 😁👊
@@HonestDiecast thank you I really appreciate the help! I just ordered some wheels!!
Nice my friend! I hope you enjoy! 😁👊
Helping hands goto harbor freight if u have one in your town $5

EDIT: * in Europe 😅
Which ones Jakub? Most Im showing were available everywhere. 😁👍
Where do you get your paint pens? What brand?
I bought an acrylic set of paint pens off amazon, Ive been using rhose for about a year with no complaints! 😁👍
@@HonestDiecast thanks for the tip
You got it, Alexander! Check the description of this vid. I think theres a link for the exact set I use.
WHO DORS 1:24 SCALE CUSTOM CARS?
Im not sure, MAYBE @ROBS MODEL CARS but I think he mainly does 1:18. 🤔
Bro I need to know where u get those cups of wheels bro
Well the cups are Pringles Travel size cups and the are pulled off Real Riders. 😁👍
Wow nice .well I will have to find my own cup .thanks you for the advice happy hutting bro .keep up the good work
Thanks Eric, you can find those Pringle Travel cups at gas stations! 😁👊
@@HonestDiecast hey I really appreciate u getting back at me I used to collect hot wheel back in 2001 thru 2003 but 👀ur video inspired me back to collecting More hot 🔥wheels. Plus now I have two kids both my boys love my hot wheels .just wana thanks you .I am sorry if my story don't good
Thank you Eric! Im very happy youre back into this wonderful hobby! Happy hunting and be safe! 😁👊
Can you order wheels and particularly real riders?
Yes Brian, I usually recommend Mini Mod GT or Treads164 on FB. There are several overseas shops that sell real rider wheels but the wait can be excruciating. I once waited 2.5 months for an order, wouldnt wanna do that again! 😑
@@HonestDiecast thanks! I’ve thought about getting into customs for a while now so I might jump in! 👌
You should! Its a whole new addiction! 😁👊
How can I get these types of things in pakistan can you tell me please
Hey there Saad! I posted links for most of the materials listed in this video through Amazon, which should provide world-wide shipping! 👊😁👍
Thanks bro😊
You are very welcome! 👊😁🙏
Can u at least turn off the music because I want hear u better 👍🏽
I keep the music modest to cover the store music and avoid copyright issues. Ill see if I can mediate it a bit. 👍😁
@@HonestDiecast I think toning it down a notch should do it, your voice is very clear just musics a bit too loud
Will do! 😁👊

Which part? 🤔
Where can I buy spare parts from wheels ect
Mod My Ride (has an ebay store) and HHW Customs are some great places to check out. 😁👍
