That manager is really annoying. He calls the police on someone not breaking the law and doesn't even apologize. Then, after he finds out it's legal, he still expects you to comply with their unlawful policy.
He may be annoying but his employers have put him in a difficult position by having a policy that is not enforceable by law. People still believe that drones are ASBO devices that continually fall out of the sky, and form no part of aviation in general. That might have been the case a few years ago but no longer. A bit of re-education is required.
that's why we don't have the police on our side..POLIC (E or Y).. they go by the office of the crown ...that why you see on their costume police constable & police officer .

MAN IN GLASSES AND RAINCOAT IS TOTALLY IGNORANT OF DRONE LAW AND DEDICATED TO HIS EMPLOYER. MY ADVICE TO THE ENGLISH HERITAGE PEOPLE IS "MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS WHAT PEOPLE CAN DO LEGALLY IN PUBLIC."
I'm taking my drone to an English heritage site. I'm not even gonna bother tell them.. Rude little man. Crete your own privacy next time. He's full of himself
Country lanes are generally 60mph and his lens distorts the field of view giving the impression he is going faster than he is....however he does tend to speed like most VW drivers.
@shutterupphotography295 Cheers. I'm well aware that most country lanes are 60mph LIMITS. However, I could see by his speedometer that he was going well in excess of 60mph.
I would have expected the English Heritage to send out emails "Stop the shenanigans with the drone pilots" in the meantime. But they probably need to harvest oak galls to produce iron gall ink, then handwrite the notice and distribute via horseback riders to be historically accurate. (Edit: It's English Heritage here not NT)
DJ.. when you visit these national trusts or stately homes just ask to speak to the “ Squire”… he’s the guy with the authority.. just give him a couple of rabbits and say “ now then Squire”… sending the drone up.. there will be no problem.👍👍
Just imagine if the manager is this incompetent what else does he screw up!!!? If any manager with English Heritage is like you, they need to hire better managers!
They start off saying you cant fly at all, then when that doesn't work, they come back to try the "i dont want my image on You Tube" Its amazing how they think Heritage Policies apply to the public on public land.
Which one you choose? Option 1: go through proper channels, get written license, written liability insurance, permission from aviation authority, permission from heritage site, other paper work, complete risk assessment, pay the fee, wait to 2 weeks, possibly fly a drone. Option 2: definitely fly a drone straight away
Do retired coppers go and work the National Trust, or do you have to work for the National Trust before you can become a copper. Because their logic and listening skills are very similar. 😂
It's about time the heritage was sent a memo that flying from public land is lawful over anything private etc. But you'd think with how many people do this someone would have seen these videos and say it's legal
There is no rule governing acceleration as such. Probably would try 'driving without due care and attention ' or maybe a fixed penalty notice for driving in a manner that could cause fear or alarm to other road users. (CD30)

People are allowed to take pictures and Video’s in the street, on the beach, most places, can’t understand why people are so bothered about having their picture taken. England has more street and shop cameras than anywhere else in the world.
These buildings and grounds are absolutely stunning, great work highlighting this. I hope the British public think about the wealth that was accumulated in times gone by to build such places, and where, or who, provided that wealth.
