My dad and uncle wrote this. You guys are GREAT!
So much great music came from your dad and uncle. I love it all! Thanks for making childhood so much fun at the movies.
Your dad & uncle hit a homerun with this song (& of course countless others!) The lyrics are funny and clever!
One of my favorite songs!
I love your dad and uncle´s songs...specially "I wanna be like you"
Wow amazing stuff they both did!
As members of "The Beach Boys" have said, the "Fendertones" are the spot on greatest Beach Boys cover band around.
I don’t know how many times I have watched this in the last 10 years. I absolutely love it.
This tune knocks me out every time I play it. Spot-on vocals and the attention to detail with all players is perfect. I loved this tune the first time I heard it many, many years ago. The chemistry with Annette and the Beach Boys was fabulous.
If Annette Funicello was alive, she would LOVE this version of the song she made famous from the movie. Bravo to all of you on a well done version!!
Yup Carl Wilson is smiling down on that beautiful jag! Awesome! Cover! Awesome guitar! Awesome everything!😎🎸👍
Young people(well, most of them anyway) keeping the sound alive! We can't let the 60's and 70's music die. This is when music was the most imaginative and FUN!!!
Marguerite's voice just rolls out of her lips with such ease and grace. So natural and pure it's amazing. More ... please!
Backing vocals are so spot-on it sounds like you're singing along with the originals...in fact it's all amazingly spot on. Just incredible, guys.
here here..great comment
Don't discount whoever mixed the recording. I'm no engineer but that's as good as the singers and other musicians.
@@ThekiBoran Who's Singing Background Vocals on Monkey's Uncle?
I am so happy there is a group of young people who celebrate the music of America's greatest rock/pop band...The Beach Boys!
I could listen to this version on a continuous loop and never get bored of it!!
Saw this movie in the 1960s and carried this tune in my head ever since. Brilliant cover.
My good late friend Anette would be proud of this!! WELL DONE!
Totally awesome. Got that beach sound down to an art and science. 🎸🎸🎸
i never get tried of playing this song over and over again i love it
I've watched this video a few hundred times since I found it in 2019 I think. Love it.
Could you imagine being one of their neighbors when they were recording this. That would be so awesome to listen to. This needs 2 thumbs up not one.
Wonder what State this video was shot in, it doesn't look like California?
@@phantomofphoenix this is recorded in pa
@@maceisaiah Thanks
Here I am again listening to this brilliant.
Marguerite is spot on! And those baritone saxophones are out of this world! I can't stop playing this song. Great job to everyone!
I'd argue she rocked it a little better than the original, especially the way she leans into that minor key at 0:39.
Not too hard as, Funicello never described herself as an elite vocalist, in fact she used to double record her songs to give them a bit more umph.
That girl sings as great as she looks!!!😀😁☺️😂😊😃😄
The vocals, instruments, accuracy and faithfulness to the original arrangement and performance is AMAZING! This is WRECKING CREW quality! If this is not your "day job", it SHOULD BE! I commend you highly. A++ performance!!
Just can't stop listening to this darn u fendertones
T r u t h
so addictive ! I can listen to this over an over... bravo
Boy! I was impressed. Brought back fond memories of the 60's
That's my man, Dan Myers, on the baritone sax! Dan and I have been friends for almost 10 years. He was the music and performing arts teacher for my grandkids at our parish school. The man is incredibly talented, and a great human being. It's no wonder the Fendertones utilized his talents for many of their recordings. What an absolutely gifted group of people. I take my hat off to them!
Love it, Love it, Love it. I truly miss this kind of music!
I cannot tell you guys how MUCH I love this!!!
This group is really exceptional - wow !!!
Love the sax players staring intently at their sheet music for their 4 note parts.
Marguerite Herder is outstanding. Absolutely 100% authentic to Annette- but yet original at the same time. Wish we could hear A LOT more from her performing with the stupendous Fendertones .
When I was a kid...that's what my dad & I did. Movies. He took me to see Monkey's Uncle, and this DAMN SONG is burned into my brain. Wonderfully! Merlin Jones forever!
The Fendertones...the group against which every tribute band in the world must be measured...and none will measure up.
Outstanding!
You are wrong! The Fendertones are great; no doubt. However, Foxes and Fossils are right up there with the best! You don't even know that and that is why you are breaking rocks in the hot sun.
@@gordoneaston6853 Dude, I checked out what you said. Are you even a musician? Are you aware of the effort it takes to pull off a very accurate rendition of the work of Brian Wilson, etc. Moreover, some of these Fendertones videos have in them members of Brian's Smile band, additional musicians from remote locations on strings, actual Beach Boy members Mike Love and Bruce Johnston, and some of the young members of this group have in fact toured with the Mike Love variant of the current Beach Boys touring band. Their dedication to perfection as a tribute band no one else even comes close.
Foxes and Fossils are your typical pretty good BUT NOT GREAT tribute bands where it only takes an average number of musicians trying to mimic famous performing bands with technically far less challenging work, and failing to achieve all that close a result. Going in with believing your hype. I was greatly disappointed. They aren't bad, sure ,but they are far less good than you think. Not even close.
I was especially disappointed with the CSN Suite: Judy Blue Eyes because it lacks a lot of the nuances that make that a classic. Sounds more like a high school sing version not in the category of Glee.
I think all of you need to listen to Papa Doo Run Run....one the best Beach Boys tribute bands ever. Some of them have actually toured with the Beach Boys.
ua-cam.com/video/W_N19SHwZEE/v-deo.html
You got that right!! They are AMAZING!!!!
I LOVE the Beach Boys... and I LOVE this!
Terrific, this group is spot on, they sound just like the Beach Boys.
Sorry...
Better 😎👍👍
you guys are sorely missed. Absolutely incredible performances and the amount of work to reproduce the beach boys sound is incredible!
What happened to them?
@@igniteexport1463 Marriage, kids, jobs, and the sad realization you can't make a living recording immaculate Beach Boys covers...?
@@rangergrrrl I always figured they were doing it in their spare time. Although they could do like allot of UA-cam artists are doing now and a small group or one person does all of it and then combines it.
Got to say she is spot on on this and very cute.
@@streamone1183: I actually prefer the Fendertones' version to the Annette Funicello version!
@@streamone1183 I know all of them in real life
we've watched this going on at least 200 times and just love it. y'all are the greatest. keep up the good work and God bless you all.
"WOW"!!! 🤔. Who are these talented individuals??? Love them all ❤️😍😘.
Never heard this song,i m impressed. The girl has a great voice.
What a terrific rendition of this Disney movie/Beach Boys song.
Nice tribute to Annette Funicello and The Misadventures of Merlin Jones beach party movies. Disney was good back then.
RIP Annette
Has it been a year since I've watched this? Margurite looks every bit as cool as Annette did in her day. And at first, it's so funny to see all the guys singing - until you realize how good they sound! More, please!
As someone who saw the movie as a little kid and had the song on a 45, I have to say this was absolutely FANTASTIC. Musicians, singers, all of it. This put a HUGE smile on my face!
Somehow that nice lady has channeled Annette ! Love this. I can still hear this blaring from the theater speakers.
I don't have a "I'm going to faint because this is the greatest thing ever!" feeling often-- but this makes me have it. MAGNIFIQUE!
Such a talented group. The guys backround vocals complement Marguerite's beautiful singing voice so perfectly.
That girl's beauty is breath taken !
Thank you Fendertones for demonstrating the complexities of what Brian Wilson was able to accomplish in the studio. The fact you guys can dissect these songs and reproduce them spot-on (and live) is a testimony to your own exceptional talent. Well done.
love this,shes perfect for singing
Brilliant song so addictive can’t get out of my head
That's the genius of Brian Wilson.
YOUR SOUND IS UNBELIEVABLY GREAT!
Can't get enough FENDERTONES!
Why cant they do an album would be brilliant.
Thanks for the comment.
We are often curious, when reading comments about the number of musicians we use, which of the Beach Boys you picture playing the timpani, saxes, percussion, etc.
On this particular song, I believe that none of the Beach Boys (with the possible exception of Brian) were even in the studio when the backing instrumental tracks were recorded by the Wrecking Crew.
The BB and Annette later added their double tracked vocals.
I hear a minimum of 18 parts on this song.
Edwin. You are correct. The musical track for this song was recorded on Tuesday, June 16th, 1964. Hal Blaine (drums), Steve Douglas (saxophone) Gene Estes (percussion), Jay Miglori (Saxophone) and Bill Pitman and Tommy Tedesco were the guitarists. The Beach Boys were too busy. as they were in the studio recording SHE KNOWS ME TOO WELL, starting Monday, June 8th. Two days after studio musicians laid down TMU track, on Thursday, June 18th, Brian was already putting together the classic Christmas Album. Vocals for WE THREE KINGS....SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN, WHITE CHRISTMAS AND BLUE CHRISTMAS are recorded over at Capitol Studios, not Western Studios.
Edwin : Brians bass playing is so great - I imagine its the original. Some people say it was Bill Pitman, primarily a guitarist - but Im feeling Carol. Thoughts?
Totally one of my favorite songs. The original is, of course, great, too. Blown away every time I hear it!! Thanks for this, all of you.
@@jmm1000 On the original version, I’m thinking Carole Kaye…using her “special Beach Boys pick,” as I think she called it. (Goes back to something she’s said she would ask Brian during sessions.)
I don't know what is more impressive: how well you covered this song or how you managed to convince so many young people to undertake this project.
Cant get this tune out of my head....driving me crazy! just love it!. Salute to Annette and the Beach Boys.
So happy that you guys are keeping The Beach Boys' music alive.
Just have to say, when I am down, I play this video. Love it! It always cheers me up. I like this better than Annette's original.
I agree. Heard both versions. Maurgerite is a little better
Outstanding! She sounds a lot like Annette. Now I can't get this song outta my head. Well done!
These kids were all born after 2000...fantastic they find this music interesting enough to write it and perform it!
I love her sound.
I’m absolutely hooked on this song I love the girl she’s cute and the band sounds amazing
That young lady hits Annette's voice as I remember it!
Annette was double-tracked; this is all live recorded.
Here, Here.....Walt Disney would be most proud!!! Bloody well done with the identical 1965 sounds that match the brilliant soundtrack song!!!!
The thought and care that went into this production is staggering. They GET it! Thank you so much for making me smile.
Every tune you do is as good, if not better than the BB. FANTASTIC!
Holy cow!!! Great job and that harmony is spot on!
First time hearing this group. Have captured the Beach Boys and Annette very well indeed
You have a graet Sound, great voices......WOW great Job guys and the wonderfully lady
Amazing rendition of this song. It’s exact. Perfection!
can´t get this song out of my head!
WOW! I have liked this song since I first saw the movie in the theatre upon it's initial release. I never thought anyone or any group would ever cover it. And here you guys are, doing a 1st class job. Thank you so much Federtones! Love and success to all of you. You all did a great job, really! (:
I love this version so much I watch it on UA-cam nearly every day and I just love the Fendertones, Just pure magic.
I love this video...it is great and they sound GREAT ! I've been addicted to it for over 5 years and watch it at least once a week!
Absolutely beautiful 😍❤♥
Impressively faithful rendition. Love it.
I can't believe how much she sounds like Annette. Fantastic cover.
I thought that the first time I heard this too. Annette would be proud.
Stumbled across this the other day and I must say that Marguerite Herder is delightful . . . a bit understated but exactly right!
Man, who'd of ever thoght that this would ever be covered & in such a great fashion, good job all around, as with all the songs you do.
She even sounds a bit like Annette! WOW, what a GREAT version of this humorous song and I salute all of them for making it sound so much like the original.
I think she sounds better than Annette.
@@stewcarew4943 We will have to agree to disagree on that. For me, Annette had a much stronger voice in many ways with this song and all her songs but this woman did do a nice job with this song. I will give her credit on that. Thanks for your reply.
Masterpiece!!! 1960`s Surf Rock For Ever!!! Back to the 1960`s!!! Perfect Performance!!! My Kind Of Surf Rock Music!!!
Shades of Annette Funicello!
Ik-I thought that I was the only person in the world who liked this song. So-saw this video and thought "Eh, I'll check it out".....Amazing! You guys nailed it perfectly.
You guys are fantastic.
The female singer is absolutely stunning with an amazing voice.

This is great! Brilliant song selection and a wonderful performance.
Way better than the original! wish I would have stumbled into this when it was published so many years ago. It puts a smile in my heart😊❤ and I simply love the bari sax’s!
I like the Annette voice and the "Falsettos" of that guys are incredibles. I have a radio program here in Venezuela and regularly I put the Beach boys`songs performed by the The Fenderstones.
The Fendertones are insanely good.
i could listen to Chad's falsetto for hours
Love this, the horn section is a great addition!
I've just discovered this during lockdown in the UK June 2020. What a fantastic cheer up!
Holy shit! Came across this and was like blah blah blah so let me take a listen anyway!!!!!!!!!!! I am blown away. I am a music nut and this just made my day!
