    I don't understand why this is such a hard pill for these guys to swallow that steroids weren't around and they achieved their bodies the natural way. I guess these days we're so used to a myriad of people using steroids, we think there's no way to achieve a great and healthy physique without steroids. It's either we're on the fat body positivity movement spectrum or on the other side, steroid use---both are unhealthy. Hard work, focus, consistency, discipline, perseverance, and patience are all qualities that are heavily missing these days, replaced with excuses, laziness, no effort, no drive, and impatience. And if you embrace the latter qualities you'll either embrace the fat body positivity movement or resort to steroids.

It's either the hormones or the lactose intolerance or the fat or the sugar it's always some reason that people are against milk. Of course milk isn't magical or anything and you don't necessarily need it but you shouldn't be shamed bc you drink it.

      @@milliedragon4418 Some modern cow breeds have a mutation wherein they produce a different type of casein protein, shortened to A1 type. Meanwhile older breeds of cows, along with goats, sheep, buffalo, etc produce only or mostly only A2 type casein proteins.
      I can drink the latter with no issue (i.e. it's not about "lactose" for me, and I suspect many others), but if I have even a small amount of regular/common cow milk, I get very noticeable symptoms, such as a shite tonne of mucous production.
      It is not so simple as black and white statements as all dairy is good or bad. Like so many things in life, there is some nuance, relativity, and/or complexity involved.
      Note, I can do well cultured versions of the A1 mixed cow dairy without issues. For example, high quality yogurt made with A1 casein mixed dairy doesn't make me mucous filled AF. This is because the microgansims predigest the proteins, making it easier for my body to fully break down.

    I like your content but, I'm not so sure that the scientific concensus on this issue is as certain as this video implies. I took a look at what you cited and it appears to be an article in a journal and not a research study like you say. It's a history about the events that led upto the successful synthesis of testosterone in 1935 and all of the discovery and experimentation that went into it. Whilst the author is reputable, it isn't empirical and doesn't claim to be. I can't find a single peer reviewed study on how the consumption of testes affects the male endocrine system. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough? I'm not making any claims one way or the other here; I'm saying that there isn't actual evidence either way (except for the stuff about the liver, there is evidence for that). Liver issue seems pretty immutable though. However, oral testosterone is now a thing, not sure if the processes of the liver have to be inhibited for this treatment or not. However, until there's been actual research into eating such organs I don't think we can assume that there isn't potential for a similar process to be going on. Also, you didn't mention that testosterone in the testes (whilst low in quantity and not stored there) has 100x the concentration of in serum testosterone. Perhaps that's a factor? I'll reserve judgement until there's some evidence. Video got me thinking though.

    • @NattyLifeYT
      @NattyLifeYT  Рік тому +3

      Fair points but I am mainly just extremely annoyed with the attitude of people diminishing the achievements of bronze era lifters. Claiming they are somehow on gear because they might have eaten animal testicles is so ridiculous to me. I feel like people will come up with any excuse to justify their own mediocrity. And by the way, since you’re saying there is no peer reviewed paper on the anabolic effects of testicles, that would just be another reason to refute people’s claims of testicles being akin to steroids. I would say it should be in their court to prove such a claim to be true, but as you say there is no empirical evidence so what reason do we have to believe it other than 100+ year old hearsay and marketing? Even though I will admit it fits my bias, I have no trouble taking a seemingly reputable professor in the field’s word for it over the random anonymous youtube commenter. Unless we have other solid evidence of it not getting inactivated by the liver or there being more Test in testicles than he claimed?

    • @NattyLifeYT
      @NattyLifeYT  Рік тому +2

      Btw here’s a bit from the same article about orally effective testosterone:
      In the 1970s the orally effective testosterone undecanoate, absorbed from the gut via the lymph to avoid the first-pass effect in the liver (65) had been added to the spectrum of testosterone preparations available for replacement therapy. Initial clinical testing revealed that oral testosterone undecanoate was best absorbed with a meal, but the testosterone peaks were short-lived so that 3-4 capsules had to be taken during the day in order to produce effective serum levels (66). Oral testosterone undecanoate was introduced to the market worldwide in the late 1970s - except in the USA - and is still in wide use despite rather variable serum testosterone profiles.

    • @markusfreund6961
      @markusfreund6961 Рік тому +5

      You probably can't find any peer-reviewed studies on the subject because, as is stated in the video, 1) Testosterone is not stored in the testes, and 2) even if it were, it's inactivated by the liver. In other words, researching something that is already known to not work is pointless. As for oral Testosterone, I'm sure there is information available online on how the hormone itself is altered and the product designed to withstand the digestion process.

    • @NattyLifeYT
      @NattyLifeYT  Рік тому +5

      Also maybe there is no peer reviewed research because it is simply well understood that the liver deactivates it. Just like we don’t need research to prove that eating a brain will not make you smarter 🤷🏻‍♂️ it seems like there is a good enough basic understanding of things not working that way in the body that such research simply isn’t needed? What do you think?

Having some experience in academia I am often saddened by the misplaced trust laymen put in studies or, for that matter, "science". Many ppl will believe anything if you just tell them that it was "proven" by a study, even when they could never understand the study, let alone assess its methodological validity and honesty. If you're an accomplished athlete with about 10 years of training under your belt and have developed your body to its natural abilities, then 'roids, GH etc. **might** help you "outgrow" your natural limitations. It's not only about growing bigger but also about longer regeneration periods -- you can "attack" each muscle harder when you only need to train it once a week instead of 2-3 times a week as natural body builders do. As a professional competitive body builder you don't stand a chance without the stuff, but that's true of professional sports in general. High-level pros have access to high quality stuff and medical supervision, and even then there's a hefty price tag regarding your health.
      As an amateur, especially a beginner, there's absolutely no point in "enhancing" yourself. Not only are you way, way within the limits of what you can achieve on your own but, more importantly, you have no way of assessing the quality, purity etc. of the stuff you're buying. Anyway, either way, 'roids will alter your body in ways you might not be aware of. Fromyour profile pic I'm assuming you're female. So, as a female, expect your physical features to turn masculine to **some** extent. Possibilities include your bosom shrinking, your clitoris growing, your voice getting deeper, you might develop a visible adam's apple, maybe even beard growth, there might be behavioral and personality changes, your mileage may vary.
      If your goal is to get massive and develop a body builder's physique, go that route. If, on the other hand, you want a nice, firm, well-toned, slender female physique, stay off the stuff. You can actually train like the guys, no need to do any weird girlie stuff. You won't get massive, probably not even ripped, just toned and athletic. Do you want to look gorgeous in a bikini or do you want to intimidate men? 🙂

    The placebo affect is powerful of course. If only there was a way I could, perhaps through hypnosis, convince myself that eating Rocky Mountain oysters got me jacked and none of the downsides of roids

      "Peripheral testosterone concentrations remained unchanged in normal men and men with fatty liver, *whereas a steep increase was observed in all other groups. The greatest increase was seen in patients with compensated liver cirrhosis and with portocaval shunts.* from the study that "professor" referenced (#20). Medical Doctors are ABSOLUTELY clueless about biochemistry. Btw they measured Testosterone and none of it´s metabolites llike DHT which is 10x as potent.

    Am I wrong, but I thought there were videos of guys that said they ate animal testicles then got their testosterone checked and it increased considerably. Am I wrong? If that is true, wouldn't that be proof eating testes can be a decent supplement?

    No one can just give somebody credit. GD man, they were disciplined, they trained and did not have a damn McDonalds drive through, a cell phone or TV. Also we know that all test levels have declined generation to generation so yes they had higher test, NATURALLY.

    I don't even understand the logic "They ate bull testicles so they're basically not natural". I mean it's a bull testicles or from a bull testicle. Even if it would work and someone made a pill from that it would still be natural. It's like arguing that someone that takes protein powder and creatine isn't natural.

    Enlightened but still testosterone has been decreasing over the years at a crazy rate so physiques back then in idk the 30s or somethin would most likely be unnatainable today unless there’s some people out there who happen to have more then 1,100+++ ng/dl of testosterone which there ofc are some people out in the world that do but very few. Back then it was more normal then it is now. We’re too comfortable today which is one of the many reasons causing lower testosterone as years go on.
