- Before I start, I am just going to say a little disclaimer. Making this video doesn't mean that Glock pistols suck. Those who say that simply don't know what they are saying about. Until now, Glock guns remain a go-to choice for many shooters, and they are actually great picks for a number of uses or occasions.
Glock guns have been around for so long that many are obsessed with overthrowing them on their throne. And I think that's the driving reason that compels many shooters to look for alternatives. Nonetheless, Glock guns are spectacular, especially when we are talking about reliability.

sure but you get more. x macro comes optic ready and has compensator. if you're looking to get a G19 with optics, you're already spending more on a new slide compared to the x macro.

How so? Being prettier? Maybe having a bell or whistle? It's effectively impossible to be *more* reliable, or *more* durable. Some could argue ergonomics, but that's honestly based on the individual. Personally I'm fine with Glock ergonomics. But seriously, what other $500-600 gun is out there that has *better* reliability, *better* durability, and equal or better aftermarket support?
You might have a few *equals* in that price range, but they'll likely be debatable at best. All that being said....I'm a 1911 guy at heart. Still love my Glock 19 though 🤷♂️
People are sleeping on Canik. Their TP9 and Mete are incredible guns with great triggers.
I have the Mete SFT Pro, comp and their red dot. Solid pistol for range. I don't use 9mm for defense, but I would be confident in a life or death situation. Shoots straight!
@@300bo8 people seem to gravitate towards one or the other. I have a few including a Glock 23 and P226, but if I were going to a gun battle, I’d go with my HK USP .40 every day and twice on Sunday.

Yeah I have Glock, Taurus, and S&W. All reliable for sure. My only critique of Glock is the grip is a tad bit uncomfortable…but I still carry a Glock 21 as my duty gun for work 😂🤷🏾♂️
I own a lot of guns and the springfield echelon is an excellent gun compared to anything else around that price

I have an old Taurus 45acp which I hate . But will say it has never jammed or misfired and always on point. It’s just a gun I never learned to appreciate.

I have the CC Edge, and it's Big Brother the LS Edge. I love them both. They are very accurate hand guns.

I have a G17 carried on duty for 20 years everyday, had a Gen4 now Gen5. Glock 27 off duty. Sold my Glock 26 and Glock 30 regrettably.
The only Glock I have and do not like is the Glock 43.
Yes same here brother! Been carrying Glock since 2001. Duty pistol BUG and off the clock. I do not like the gen 5. Have you noticed the nDLc coating to be to shiny? I don't like that. You been around the block. Gen 5 seen to get smiles on the barrel after the first 100 rounds. Let me put it this way. In my opinion the finish is garbage. Also this marksman barrel no matter what I use to clean the bore the copper seems to stay in the rifling. Just as you 17 19 26 27 29 30 42 48 are my lotto numbers. 29 edc. I would like to pick up a 49 19 grip 17 slide. Like many I Frankensteined a 26L 19L. Anyway happy NY.🎉
Glocks are excellent for duty guns and in the field bc you just know they're always at the ready. There's only 2 real conditions with Glocks, chambered and unchambered. But I like having the option of having a safety [other than my trigger finger - Black Hawk Down] for several reasons. But just having a gun in general is the most important option to me.
Oh ya, and CZ is a very long well known brand for reliability. I think its the go-to gun in European area.

It’s not what’s better,it’s about what you ‘grew’ up with! I have 2 Glocks roughly 20 years old and I still hit headshots proficiently @ 15yds & I’m pushing 60yrs. old with bad eyesight. Oh & both pistols still run flawlessly! Thank you Gaston! I’m also no marksman.
I have an ancient Gen 3 17. It shoots like a dream.

Fan-bois for sure. My Beretta, never a stoppage, never a FTE/FTF, ever! XD, same thing, Sig, same thing, hell my Rugers SAME THING! People and Glocks are like biden voters cannot admit they chose something that has not aged well. They are over-priced for sure and the NEED to modify them is stunning for a supposed perfect pistol. I have a G17 and first time I shot it shells were hitting me in the forehead! How is that even possible?
I love my Echleon feels good Handles very well love the ease of the slide it feels light and well balanced
The CZ Shadow 2 compact is a good and very nice looking gun, very much like the P07 which I've owned 2 and love them with intention on a 3rd. Aesthetics do help just feeling good about your gun even tho many will say it has nothing to do with performance and shooting, but its in the mind.
I also have Taurus G2C and 2 of them as well. All in 9mm, and I have RIA 1911 govt in 10mm. Anything else is unnecessary unless its a rifle or shotgun, or Claymore... haa ;)
I thought I saw Colion, the Ruger spokesman, in this video. For me, Glocks and really any pistol that fires every time you pull the trigger, hits what you are aiming at, and feels good to you are good weapons IMHO. I don’t own a Glock, but I know they are the AK47 of pistols, but I bet there are many other brands that can withstand the abuse that Glovks are known for.

You only forgot to include the Glock G34 Gen5 Competition and the Walther Arms PPQ Q5 Match Pro.
I have a Gen 2 Glock I bought used. It still shoots. Granted I had to change all the springs in the gun and the mags to get it to run reliably but it does now. The beat compliment I can give it is it is AKM simple. You can rip it apart and fix things yourself. It runs great for a gun that was made in June of 89. The human engineering? Meh. Crappy stock trigger, feels like a brick, weird grip angle. So many other guns feel, point and shoot better out of the box. Gaston was first to the market. I give him his due, bit if we are being honest, he and his daughter stopped truly innovating a lot time ago. They got lapped. A Glock isn't leading the pack anymore. Vp9, Echelon, PDP, P-10c, etc, etc, etc.
Trying to understand what the XL means for the Sig 365. Is that magazine capacity? Colorado limit is 15+1 so wondering if the XL is referring to 17+1.

I own a lot of pistols and I like the XDM 10mm all day, Glock really needs to upgrade its sites already.
i have the XDM 45 and like it a lot but am now looking for something more suited for EDC, most likely 9mm. The only other pistol I have is a ruger .22 revolver.

Saying something is better than a Glock isn't really saying much these days. Glock is just basic and reliable. Glock folks know Glocks aren't amazing out the box, that's why they mod them. The after market support is good.
I carry a Glock 43x Mos for, edc. I also rotate my, Sig Sauer P365 X-Macro. My bedside gun is a Glock 21 Gen5. And I've also got a. Springfield xdm 10mm in reach also. And that's not to say beside my nightstand I've got a Mossburg 500a with seven double alt buckshot ready to go. I hate it for the man or men who break into my home in the middle of the night! God bless America!!

Everyone in here hating on Taurus, I have conceal carried a 9mm g2c for almost 4 years and have never had an issue with it, in fact I like it so much I went out and got a TH40 in 40s&w for non conceal carry. Great guns for the price and good quality to boot. Not sure why everyone’s upset about them making a list on UA-cam, the g2c and similar Taurus pistols have made it on to a crap ton of best guns under xxx amount videos and after owning two I can see why, they aren’t the best but they definitely are NOT a cheap hipoint ( and yes I have a hi point 45 acp pistol and it regularly jams and has issues but it’s also 16 years old lol)
Tried em' all. Always go back to Glock. Can't tell you why other than they work, the grip is built for shooting it, not holding, and nothing has offered me enough benefit to change.
I'll call BS here. If you'd "tried them" you'd not be saying that. Especially with the Echelon and Shadow 2 Compact. I have 14 Glocks and I like them, they've been good reliable guns, but the Glock is no longer the "perfection" that they once were and the multi million dollar upgrade market for that one single brand proves it. Why spend all of that money on a Glock and then hundreds more just to get a half way decent trigger and sights that are still not as good as what's on these guns listed here from the factory? Glock's quality control and reliability are no longer what the once were. Their 5.5lb triggers are not a reality anymore, they very more between 6.0 and 9lbs. Not one Glock even compares to the guns on this list. The SA Echelon and the FN 509 CC Edge are so much better than the Glock in every single category, especially when used for duty use. The Taurus crushes the 43x with a better trigger, ergonomics, and mag capacity. The X-Macro is smaller, shoots better, and holds more rounds than the G19. Then, you really can't even bring the CZ Shadow 2 Compact into a "vs Glock" discussion, it's so much more in a completely different class than the Glock because it is that so much better that they're not in the same league.

And if you need to swap out a bunch of parts to make a Glock shootable, you suck at shooting. It's the indian not the arrow. Smh
@@hawkgeoff That's not just my opinion, why not check the Internet, it's pretty much any one who reviews firearms opinion also. I don't know a single person who's shot the Echelon or the Shadow 2 that wouldn't take one immediately over the Glock. The Glock is an old design and there are so many guns that are just better in every way. I also never said that I personally modified my firearms. What I said is that there are 1000s of aftermarket Glock parts companies out there, but not so much for the other brands. Why is that? If the Glock is so good then explain. Glock WAS an awesome firearm in it's day but unfortunately they've been stuck with the same design and mindset for decades and times have passed them by. Just look at the half assed back strap system they have, the shitty MOS, and it only took them 30 years and millions bitching to finally get ambidextrous controls. Maybe now that Gadsden Glock has passed they'll actually bring the Glock into this timeframe rather than be stuck in the 80s like they have been. Again, I have 14 Glocks, as well as 4 of the guns on this list, so I'm not anti Glock at all but when Palmetto State is making their own version of the Glock and the overall reviews say the PSA. is a better gun, at a 40% cheaper price point? Then there's an issue Glock really needs to address. I hope they do.

I own a lot of guns, but my go to that I carry every day is my XD mod 2 45 and they discontinued that now they have the XDS and I have 3 Glock that I love and now I love my XD mod 2
This is totally one man’s opinion. I shoot the 40 cal compact Glock 23. It has never jammed once! I’ve shot my 23 under water and hit the target. So come with the come a comparison on the 40 cal and I’ll hear from you in about 10 years.

All that really matters is reliability, accuracy and speed in your hands. How you get there is up to individual tastes and there is no accounting for taste. Shoot well and often.
The CZ shadow is expensive compared to a Glock. The Taurus hasn't been around long enough to be tried and true
The street price of a Taurus GX4 XL TORO is $360 - a lot cheaper than a Glock 43x @ $500
but how can you compare taurus to glock that's not even in the same ballpark
I have a gX4 very very reliable !! But I mostly carry my Glock 33 357 sig, and my 30sf 45acp. Glock is just to me what I grew up on

My S@W 40 cal that's used by alot of people including police in my country and is spot on. Slight smithing makes it a slick race gun compared to any glock I have shot and is more stirdy

I've had my GX4 & G3C for a few years & this guns are a bang for the buck & trigger feels better than most Glock's🎉
I finally rented a CZ Shadow 2 and hated it. It was way to heavy. Love my VP9
I just stepped into to the 500 line from FN with the 509 and 545. Way more expensive than a Glock but better in every category. Trigger is a negative but other than that FN 500 lineup is one of the best.
Glock makes a fantastic handgun, but I have yet to find one that feels comfortable in my hands.
I'm a big guy with large hands, and Glock pistols, especially the compact variants for concealed carry, just aren't it for me.
Have had multiple friends who loved the idea of a CZ Shadow until they purchased it and for no reason had multiple malfunctions. I do love Taurus despite popular belief; however, the reputation of Tarus v Glock, there is NO comparison. Sig? Put sig in the same category as Taurus because they have had their fair share of models blowing up in shooters hands or firing without touching the trigger. Springfield will always be overrated. FN will always be over priced and overrated. I would change this to "Guns that have more features than Glock." What matters most is reliability and not one of the vendors you mentioned have a platform to speak on for reliability. That is all
You like what you like, I have a little bit of everything Glocks, Taurus, Smith and Wesson, and Springfields. I’m just a gun guy and all those brands I named are reliable and you’ll be able to accomplish whatever you’re aiming for with training. Can we all just have a conversation with real evidence on firearms that aren’t reliable?
Many companies have upgraded their firearms substantially but glock is the standard that they all copy

I love videos like this! It just proves 100% that Glock set the STANDARD for striker fired half polymer pistols. When the first Glock hit the US market rival companies already were thinking how they could copy it. I own so many pistols I lost count. So, even though I like, enjoy, and respect all of the pistols that I own, I only carry Glock pistols! After numerous tests and field tests I have never felt safer trusting my life to anything other than a Glock. I will shoot them but I will only carry Glock pistols with factory Glock magazines.

No unreliable platform has anything to compare to. Not from the outset. That's why reliability is not a criterion for comparison. Glock's strengths are lightweight, grip angle, contour without edges. Glock's weaknesses are the trigger and standard sights. That's it. A CZ Shadow 2 is not an EDC pistol. It is short, angular, thick platform. A shadow 2 is a sports purpose gun. To make it smaller and lighter doesnt make it EDC. What is relevant for EDC is not length, but thickness. Any format up to G17 can be easily worn if it is light and flat enough. Glocks are good to hoster due to its flat cornerless shape.
What is the sense of comparing guns 2-3x the cost of a Glock and saying they are better, I would have guessed that without the video

I think this an AI generated video. The P365 has had a number of issues. Light primer strikes. Mags that do not hold their full round count. Even SIG says not to top off the gun. Search UA-cam or ask some of the specialized training instructors. The earlier P365’s had rust issues. I own a Shadow 2. My only issues are getting a good grip on the smallish slide everything else is excellent. I am also trying out a new Bul Armory AXE Clever. I reserve judgement on the GX4. I have a friend in Israel that owns one. He spent many years with the IDF. He knows which end is up.
Anybody recognize which voice generator was used for this video? The video clips look like scrapes from across the internet and UA-cam. I could be wrong. Ted, why not put out a video introducing yourself. I would love to be proven wrong.
P365 had teething issues in the 1st Gen. But those were worked out almost immediately and you never hear of problems now. It's funny how guys like you will brand a gun for life. Do the research because Glocks had their own teething issues over the years.
The P365 is one of the best selling and most popular pistols on the market and has been since it came out. Just like how people compare guns to Glocks, micro 9's are compared to the P365.

Fun story: Me and two buddies were at a weekend range trip in Colorado. One of them is a Major in the Marines and also works at a local gun shop where he's the Range Master and is very experienced helping customers fix gun jams. He spent most of his life deployed in the Middle East. My other buddy is a US Marshall.
The US Marshall's Glock 19 Gen 4 jammed on day two of our excursion. That Glock maybe had a thousand rounds max through its short life.
None of the 3 of us could get it unjammed.
Moral of the story? Every gun can and will fail at some point.
HK VP 9B, FN 509, CZ P10 COMPACT, SIG P320 XCOMPACT, MANY CANIKS, ETC. THERE ARE SO MANY THAT ARE BETTER THAN GLOCK

Wow...some thousand dollar guns had some cooler stuff on them...wild.
Taurus is *not* "better" than a Glock, not a chance in the world.
The Sig is...eh, maybe marginally more feature rich, but i dont see anything "better". I'll allow "equal to". And the other three cost nearly double so...they *should* be "better".
But ultimately, with a Glock you spend $500ish, and get world class reliability, massive aftermarket support, and a stupid simple platform that is excellent for everyone from beginner to expert. I dont care what widgets you can slap on a Taurus POS, you're never going to convince a Navy SEAL or an FBI hostage rescue team member to field one. Why? Cuz it aint better.
Given that none of these pistols would exhist if it wasn't for the genius of Gaston Glock, I'd say Glock pistols are my choice....😊
Just because something exists because of a Glock in this case doesn’t mean the Glock is better. A lot of things go on to be better than its predecessor.

I didn't say the clones weren't good. Anything can be improved on , it all depends on what fits and what you can afford
But people that love Glocks understand and appreciate the work ittookto create a new class of gun over copying a proven design.
Let's not forget that some of these guns are twice the price of a Glock. Not that I hate the sights or trigger of the Glock, but it would be much cheaper to upgrade the two. Glock is a combat weapon, not a marksman weapon, it doesn't need to be flashy.
That same mentality- if not for the 1911, then Glock wouldn’t exist.

My Verdict.... All modern handguns today.. Wanted to look. Like. GLOCKS...
Which is sad. Glocks are the epitome of the functional mass market product that gets gets the job done while completely lacking in aesthetics. As a tool that is great if you only care that it works when you need it. For someone like myself that wants both function and looks, it ain't for me. Hell, I even own hammers in different colors. 🤪🤪
If you get a good deal on the Sig P365, definitely #1. The Ole Corps taught me to be accurate without the accessories and it is a CCW pistol. My battle handgun or secondary will have all the accessories and in 10mm.

Look at what sEALs, CAG, Rangers, MARSOC, Green Berets and other elite units use and go with that.
By using it comparitively you are tacitly admitting that the Glock is the benchmark semi auto hand gun out there!

I had a Glock 26-I chambered a round one day and the slide went forward slightly more than it should have. I reached down and slid the slide right off the frame.
This is the point where the Glock fan boys start foaming at the mouth and telling me that it was all my fault. I sent it back to Glock, who repaired it and acknowledged that what happened was a manufacturer defect.

Glock 17 or Springfield echelon. Both rock.
The CZ p10c is probably the best pistol for the price.
Echelon is the only real comparable gun here, the CZ, FN 509, and Sig Macro are going to run you $250-$550 more than your standard Glock, and sorry but I'm not trusting my life to a Taurus, I love my G3 but will stick to Glock or the Echelon.
I used to work at FN and I must say they make some great weapons.

Once a manufacturer gets a contract with the pentagon they begin to lose there appeal due to mass production and failures trying to kick out volume over quality
are there guns better than Glocks, probably but for the price point their still pretty good

I find it amusing that people still compare “new” guns to Glock, making them still relevant. Still put my life on my edc Glock 26 over anything
I seriously doubt that the Taurus GX 4 can hang with a Shadow Systems 920 Series pistol , especially the MR 920 P or the XR 920 P which are both a much better comparison to a Glock in design !
