Please keep in mind I don't hate the game, I still play it from time to time and I'm just giving my 2 cents on it. My opinions, my words, you can't change them.
@@dimo691997 I don't hate it but I feel like it's just... Not that great for trying to take in the Burnout name. It likely exists because EA likes money and they wanted a studio to hold off Burnout until Paradise or a deal came up that warranted another team to take the job.
Dominator was actually my favorite game in the series and this game made my childhood great. The soundtracks are songs I still listen to and the map design was perfect. I love this game over Paradise, Revenge, and Burnout 3.
Yeah man. Freaking Chelsea Dagger. Avril Lavigne.... and kinda forgot what everything else was called haha. There were definitely some good songs on Dominator. I heard Paradise is coming to the Switch so that'll be my second Burnout game
@@neillatchman2885 Oh, that's supposed to read Detroit Muscle 1, and that would be false. In the E3/Demo era of Revenge, it was originally Detroit Muscle 2.
Random Fact: I discovered "Girlfriend" from Avil Lavigne from playing Burnout Dominator on PS2 and until long after the game was released, the song was well known and/or popular on the radio.
IIRC it was mine as well and I'm not saying myself I think the game is bad, I don't hate it but I'm just giving my personal opinion on it. Maybe I ought to do another Burnout game next.
In terms of all the Burnout games this one is my favorite for racing. Boost chains were really fun but my biggest complaint is that the game is too easy. You can tap the brake button a turn very slightly to fill up the boost arrows for a chain. Also the crashbreaker is super easy to confirm. That being said i loved maniac mode which imo is a better version of time trials. Road rage sucked tho cuz of the time limit.
- Removal of Crash Mode never bothered me as I found Crash Mode to be rather repetitive in Burnout 3 and to be rather boring in Revenge -Props to them removing Traffic Checking as in Revenge it took away lots of tension from the racing and was just silly IMO -I find the racing and handling to be very fun and polished to a even finer grade than Revenge. 3 and 2 still have better driving mechanics though. Dominator's Boost Chaining system is great and a very fun mechanic and is much better than B1 and B2s boost chaining system. - Car designs I actually am a huge fan of and the thing that makes this title standout from other games. 2 still has the best PS2 era Burnout car design imo but Dominator's is almost on-par as it is much more unique and opts for putting in original vehicles rather than copy and pasting the same vehicle with a different bodykit; like in 3 and Revenge. This is especially true with Revenge, as I find that game to have a boring and largely forgettable car list. - One thing I love Burnout Dominator for it's game/UI design. Burnout Dominator has the best UI design out of any single Burnout game IMO. Including Paradise. I like it's "destructive" look. I absoutely love the look of the menus. Plus the glass breaking is honestly a very cool touch. The way they edited the intro/track/award videos also is the best I've seen Burnout wise. This destructive style was something Revenge was going for but in my eyes rather failed to accomplish. Dominator proves that you dont need your game to have a dull brown excrement looking color palette to pull off a good "destruction" and gritty vibe. In terms of art direction, Dominator pulled off what Revenge couldnt IMO. Oh yeah thats another thing. - Dominator also IMO is the best looking PS2 Burnout (I'd almost say B2 is on par but Dominator has the edge due to it's great looking graphical/blur/bloom effects). The tracks look very appealing visually, the graphical effects look great and there is more going on on the screen than in previous Burnouts. (More lights, reflections etc.) - I prefer the soundtrack over Paradises final tracklist. Army of Anyone, Forward Russia, Trivium, Fratellis, Filter, Hot Hot Heat. So much goodness in there. All in all, Dominator's racing experience and art direction I think was pulled off a lot better than Revenge, and since I am not a huge sucker for crash mode, I prefer Dominator over Revenge as a whole and think the game deserves much more credit than what it's given, and don't discredit it over something so trivial as "the game has no crash mode". Appreciate the game for what it is. Don't set your expectations too high or compare it to other Burnouts. Enjoy it for what it is and you'll learn to "accept" it.
I do think it does some things better than Revenge, the biggest one being the removal of Revenge's awful rating system. I did enjoy some of the car designs and I did appreciate them for being unique but some of them had minor nitpicks and other bits that personally I didn't like. The AI was far superior and did put up a better challenge, and I find the game to have a better difficulty curve besides some of the problems I named off. I did like how unique and different the tracks were, though they felt relatively bland in terms of encouraging combat as I talked about in the video. I am disappointed at the lack of crash mode, as I did highly enjoy it besides in 3 where it felt highly repetitive, but I'd say Dominator works better in the light of the older games, though still not awful, I don't find it to be... great. I do however think it is highly underrated and shit on for no reason.
but i really like revenge :(((((((( im literally going to fucking kill you for having a different opinion!!!111111111 i honestly really like every addition that revenge made, i think traffic checking worked in revenge since they did optimize the other mechanics for it to work and not be boring, i honestly just view all the burnout games as their own weird little bubble rather than any connected big series, even if during the evolution of the burnout franchise, criterion did learn a lot and the main burnout games got better and better, and i still like dominator even if it feels a bit weird to play but even then i still perfer legends if i wanna play burnout on the go
I wish the Traffic checking comes back in a Nerfed way Like Asphalt did, if you smash a traffic car from the side (or from the back at a moderate speed) The traffic car just moves around like another competitor
I remember my copy of Burnout Dominator had the Spainish cover of Girlfriend on as default with the English version, yet it automatically had the Japanese version and (I think?) German disabled. First song I ever heard when I booted that game up for the first time on PS2, but I didn't think about it. I was 7 and the game was relatively new at the time, so I was in love immediately
Oh let me tell you, it was the most wonderful time of my childhood. Racing, burning rubber and bumping cars of the road. It was and still is, amazing. It was a pretty good looking game back then and it still beats some of the recent racing games ( but that's my opinion.)
Paradise was my introduction to Burnout but when I played Dominator, I didn't like it. Kinda gave me the impression that Paradise was the only good Burnout. Glad that 3 and Revenge proved me wrong.
I remember completing this when I was younger and had a PSP, it was really great. At first I was turned off from the fact it didn't have customization like NFS Underground Rivals, another PSP racing game at the time. I distinctly remember how challenging one of the events were.
I'm actually thinking about that "Off-Road" class They might reuse the Crash mode pickup trucks and SUV's from Revenge and put them into racing category I guess, Just like how they managed to do that in the Assasin car (Classic Crasher C170 in Revenge)
I think that Dominator was spoused to be focused on speed rather then destruction. Kinda ironic how they call it Dominator but they cut crash mode which is basically you dominating the intersection.
I loved the game on PSP. Potential of Infenite Boost chaining was sooo good to me, It's so Thrilling when risking huge crash for Butt clinching Boost length & Speed.
I actually like Girlfriend on Burnout in all the languages, one of my top 2 favourite songs of the game. Burnout dominator was the first and only racing game i really liked
Speaking of car designs, the Custom Coupe Ultimate's damage model and physics in Road Rage were so messed up in the PS2 version for some reason, but the PSP version doesn't have this issue, so I wasn't so sure why it was made this way
It was originally from Burnout 2 as one of the cover cars called the Custom Coupe but yeah, I guess they did like it enough for it to be in every game besides 1 and Revenge. (Crash too but we don't talk about that lol)
When I watched the Factory Series unlock video in Burnout Dominator, I saw a neon green car behind one of the Factory type vehicle and I don’t know what car that was (couldn’t be a traffic car neither the Custom Coupe Ultimate).
At a glance, the closest thing to this car seems to be the Euro Super, but if you look closely, the car itself looks nothing like the one shown in the “Factory Series Unlocked” cutscene. Plus, the Euro Super has a thick black stripe in the middle, something that isn’t present on the car shown in the video. Aside from this car and the Euro Classic LM, I haven’t see any other green-tinted cars that exist as an selectable ride. After doing some research, here’s what I found. In Burnout Dominator, the player only has access to three color choices. For example, the player can only use the J-Coupe in Grey, Yellow, and Black. Other colors, such as the Neon Green, are exclusive to the Rivals. My assumption is that the game could only support three colors, which means the “leftover” ones are shown via the Rival. I believe this is the case for the Factory Muscle as well. The player can apply the Red/Black Stripe, Yellow/Black Stripe, and Grey/White Stripe combo(a), but cannot use the ones seen on the Rivals, those being the Red/White Stripe and Blue/White Stripe. While I’d love to see these options available for the player, I understand that there were most likely some constraints, considering the game was made in 2007. Earlier games in the franchise such as Burnout Revenge, Burnout 3, and even Burnout 2 seemed to all have four color options instead of 3. I’m not 100% certain on this, but I digress. TL;DR The car displayed in the cutscene seems to resemble the J-Coupe, but is shown in Green, a color that was not available to the player. Note: All of this information was compiled from the Burnout Fandom Wiki. If you want to know more about the Burnout series or any other game, I strongly recommend that you take a look at the site. Some fascinating and supplementary data can be found on there.
It’s meh for me some of those car unlock challenges can burn in hell. *Cough Cough* Custom Coupe Ultimate challenge also listen to how they massacred my boy the Limited ST such a tragedy.
In my point of view, burnout dominator is actually the most frequently burnout games that i played along with b3. While least played was Revenge and early burnout games (including burnout 2 too because i didnt find that games discs nowadays). It was one of mindblowing burnout games since they allow us using crashbreaker in every race and road rage events, while in b3 its locked behind crash mode, and revenge is locked behind Rank 5-10 that contains crashbreaker events sometimes. Something i didnt like from this game are because of these things. 1. No crash mode and shortened events. Actually it felts empty with no crash mode, so the challenge become shorter, as we can see we only got 88 events on this game to gold, separated in 7 series, starting from Classic to Dominator. While in B3, there are 173 events including crash mode and burnout revenge too, which contain 169 events, separated from Harmless to Dominator Rank. 2. Trophies. Actually im okay with this, but what i didnt liked about this that they bring some painful objectives to clear all achievements. Especially 5000 near misses for Dominator Trophy. 3. Lack signature takedowns. They replaced it with signature shortcuts that i only able to get it once. Not also mentioning some of signature shortcuts are hard to get within. Especially the Wholesale Mayhem ones. Only these three things what i made sometimes i didnt like this game. But still, this game also good though and satisfying because of burnout boost chain system. Good memories i remembered i stuck at 1st and 2nd event of Classic Series bcs i didnt know the mechanics of burnout boost system and drifting too.
I'm gonna be honest with you I don't like your opinion but I respect it. This was my first Burnout game so I can't say this is the best. This game is one of the most fun I've played at the time I was a kid, right next to Midnight Club 3.
IIRC was my first Burnout as well, if not my second. I don't hate it, but I like to come down to Earth and realize where it falls short of a Burnout game. Probably should've made that more clear.
Its so much fun reading how everyone is pointing out the title and the author having to explain it almost every single time...I wonder what the issue is?
@@CryptidWubz Definitely not hardware limitation, I think it was a public courtesy thing lmao. Imagine someone walking around with impact time sounds blasting from their psp lol.
Interestingly enough, I was planning to get this game on a psp emulator, along with legends, which one would be the better game *mind you I never played both of them* and if I may kindly ask a question 🙂 what are your thoughts about the Xbox 360 version of revenge? I truly love that game with a burning passion ❤❤
If you want quantity over quality play Legends. If you want quality over quantity play Dominator. I'd suggest both as the experiences differ to some extent, but I won't go an entire in-depth explanation which is better. As for the 360 version of Revenge I quite like it although granted it has a couple annoying drawbacks such as only like 3 engine sounds total and a soundtrack you can't designate between menu and race.
@@racedriver43 it's okay, no worries 🙂 if anything I'll go to them blindly, even though I played 3 a lot *from a neighbor who had it on ps2, as well as revenge on ps2* I was truly in love with the Xbox 360 version, even though it does have inherit flaws or in some cases I've seen, people outright calling it trash, in fact I still have my original copy of the game *it's backwards compatible on Xbox one* and even though we live in a world where burnout paradise as a whole exist *regular and remastered* my love will always go to revenge, 🙂 thank you very much for the response, if anything I do look forward to hearing your thoughts *and even flaws* about burnout revenge, in the end, there is no such thing as a perfect game.
I purchased this game at a thrift store for $2 around 2015. I finally decided to give a try, I like it and I am enjoying it more than I anticipated. I can respect the opinions of others, however I am having a lot of fun with this game.
At least it had an AMAZING soundtrack with that brutal remix of Burnout 2's theme, collapse by saosin, going though changes by army of me and many others. And even with the new songs in Burnout Paradise, the ones that came from Dominator were still my favorites (Girlfriend does NOT count)
Oe thing i miss about burnout 3 and legends that i wish they kept in reveng and dominator is that when you take a car down it shows the actual wreckage of the car. Revenge and dominator try to show it off through some angle to try to make it look cool. Im glad paradise kept this to some extent.
Dominator was not a bad game, but it did feel somewhat limited and with a slightly higher difficulty compared to what had already been achieved in Revenge, this because of going back to the classic Burnouts system, which meant that the normal Boost did not grant More speed than I did in Burnout 3 or Revenge, if you lost Burnout you lost speed and that meant falling behind more easily. The Traffic Check no longer existed, so you had to return to being able to avoid all the traffic, the design of the cars also felt simpler, although the best of each list were those that came from previous installments, the rest for For some reason it felt simpler in design. Regarding the Soundtrack, I have no complaints, in fact it is one of my favorites in the saga, I find it quite curious that the vast majority of it was taken to Burnout Paradise (except for a couple of songs, which curiously are my own). favorites). Despite those bad aspects, I liked Burnout Dominator and I spent many hours playing it, especially because it was one of those games that came in the last years of PS2, it was a good port and it had almost the same graphics as Revenge.
The 360 version of revenge has the same trash physics as dominator.....the cars feel like you are trying to ram a semi off the road. I feel like dominator was just a last minute attempt from EA to scrape the last bit of money they could from the ps2.
the game feels too simplified, even the crash are amost just wall takedowns, not much objects assets to see the crash with enviroments, and the roads some are nice, but a lot are just curvy lines with nothing more, feel like a hotwheels track more than a real place. psdt.: burnout revenge got the better roads with a lot of side tracks. sorry for bad english.
2:22 an off-road class imo would of probably been good but then again for a Burnout game that wouldn't fit in Avril lavenge imo should've been cut for both dominator and paradise It's been about ten years since I've played Burnout Dominator so I don't remember much I need to find a ps2 Your opinion is quite detailed which I like but then again I can't agree with it since I haven't played it for ten years
This is my favourite burnout game! I started playing it recently after playing a bit of burnout revenge and takedown. The track desing in my opinion is great, some tracks are build to do vertical takedowns/drift and some don't feel very comfortable to that playstyle. The soundtrack is okay, most of the st don't fit into the fast pace style they we're going with dominator, most of them feel like menu soundtracks and i trink more fast pace music should be added,i only like 4 or 5 musics and many times i just put the music lifetime - haircut and t shirts because it was the better track i could find. The game is more easier than the previous titles which is something i really like (i find burnout 3 REALLY difficulty) the only problem is that the game should have an better difficult curve, the first 3 classes should be easy, the other 3 medium and the last ones really hard. Graphics wise the game on the ps2 looks worse than the burnout 3 and Revenge! It's obvious this game just was made for psp but later got an enhanced version for ps2! The graphics still are pleasing enough tho. This game could be much better than what we got, this game is only 1gb in the ps2 version,it's a REALLY tiny game, this game could maybe have customization (would be interesting to see custom vinlys and custom paints) Open World,or maybe have crash mode (i hate crash mode but some fans like it) but burnout dominator is still an great game, has flaws in some areas but it feels like burnout! The only thing i hate about this game is that it feels like an half-ass psp game ported to the ps2 and many flaws this game has is because of being made for the psp first. If this was being made for ps2 first,i 100% sure an open world gameplay similar to burnout paradise would be possible with the gameplay and physics of burnout revenge/takedown.
After revenge it was the best one. Yes, it was better than burnout 3, fight me. Yeah sure it didn't have crash mode but the crash mode from revenge was far superior to 3 anyway. I'd say that dominator had the best driving physics, takedown physics too, plus chaining burnouts was so much fun.
I've always liked this game, it was the first Burnout game I played when I was young, but it has its flaws. The fact that they removed the Crash mode which was very different from those other boring game modes like drift challenge, near miss challenge etc... (the only one that is really cool is Maniac XD) was really bad, the Burnout Boost mechanic Chain is pretty cool, but for me it makes the game a little complex, kind of boring for those who are new to the franchise or for those who just want to enjoy the game (maybe that just annoys me XD), Road Rages extremely easy and no fun at all (even in the final events of the game), but other than that the game is very good, cool and memorable tracks, like Glacier Falls and Bushido Peak, good gameplay as always, very different and cool cars (what I hate about Burnout Revenge, are literally the same cars but with an upgrade, without much creativity, only the specials are good ) and a very good soundtrack, for me it doesn't have as many good songs as Revenge, but on the other hand, Girlfriend is literally the best song to hear while playing across the franchise in my opinion XD . For me Burnout Revenge is the best game in the franchise (and I'll go further, it's the best car racing game ever made in my opinion), and Burnout Dominator comes right after, being a very nostalgic game for me and will always have a place in my heart. PS: Euro Circuit Racer my beloved.
Revenge and 3 Takedown were better! Dominator was not so good even though it was a spinoff. The two things that I hated about Dominator were no crash mode and no traffic checking.
@mr.kool He mentioned this on Discord one day digging through Dominator. It's in the Burnout Discord server which you can find an invite to on the subreddit somewhere. Icon should be a big red B.
I will say, for a PSP title Dominator is for sure impressive, especially in comparison to how lazy under the surface Legends is. As a PS2 title though, Dominator isn't really anything new.
With the caveat that I've only ever played the Burnout games under emulation, and that the PS2 games run slower than they should for me, I didn't think Dominator was bad. Admittedly I haven't played it that much as I've been working my way through the prior games, but from what I've seen, it has some beautiful tracks. Bushido Peak is so far my favorite track from any of the games. Actually, i think Dominator was the first Burnout game I ever played. I played it in PPSSPP, where it runs perfectly for me. That's what inspired me to try the rest series. With the little I've played it, the only problem I had with it was the tutorial mode right at the start that keeps pausing the game and telling you what to do. Just let me f***ing play the game! Oh, and the unskippable videos. To honest, while I liked crash mode in Burnout 2, I thought the crash modes in Burnout 3 and Burnout Legends were just meh. They relied too much on gimmicks like score multipliers and ramps and not having the crashes in slow-mo really took away some of the enjoyment. I replayed the ones in B2 many times, but I don't really feel any urge to replay the ones in the later games once I've gotten gold in them.
Honestly ? Is not bad, far from it, it was fun, but everytime i played, i played with a feeling that "this game could be better", my major problem with this game was the cars desing, they're awful.
I don't fell this way Girlfriend song was in burnout as well...not saying it's bad or good but noone talks it Also i played short puriod and game felt just like other burnout This is nickpicking or i am dumb
@@racedriver43 and last that annoying af let's go chant that happened when you got the crashbreaker but at least dominator didn't make us go thru another bad crash mode
@@pcgrimreaper1562 the lack of multipliers is a blessing, it requires genuine skill and thought to complete the junctions besides just smack a few cars, hit x4, let the game do the rest the start system i agree was annoying as shit, i would've just preferred b3 style or e3 era rev where it was a single bar crowd is whatever, would be nice to turn off as an option but they never bothered me all that much
@Racedriver43 all i remember is that it was a glitchy mess, that were almost impossible to make shortcuts that where usually longer and lost you speed on dirt vs tarmac and cars [unlocking them especially on factory was a nightmare(you have to crash a car into it.)), the Ai would avoid that entire section of track so you being able to crash your car into the barriers to do that is infuriating, factory's track having the only decent shortcut in the game.], for the mentioned boost. Also there was a 1/3 chance that the game would straight up crash when you loaded certain tracks. or never load. oh and it would crash if that happened if that was during a grand-prix (most commonly being the highway track). Driving: Holy shit. Your car is seemingly magnetic to traffic and walls, the steering was either functional or completely unpredictable (it was nice and quick though which is nice incomparison to modern games). They programmed the cars to handle to the surface, but they just violently change on gradients. so you put one tyre wrong on Cambered corners, while drifting you flung into the wall of the next, usually with boost jammed full on doing a wall burnout achieving nothing(the mentioned lack of crash time not helping). THE NEEDLESSLY EXCESSIVE MOTION BLUR AFFECTS ALL OF YOUR SCREEN. oh and its a game that you can still sync to the frequency of the TV your using.Consider the poor quality of the image and then add motion blur to it... I have pit manuvered and pile driven cars into walls. and achieved nothing. i have been the car that has been piled into walls and got a takedown... This game... I liked the difficulty. I still couldn't complete the last level. largely as it has to be an absolutely perfect fucking run, with the fastest car in the game on full boost, achieved in two laps of the shortest track to get a Ridiculously high combo score (so many silvers). Apart from that its still sitting there at 97% complete (game completion being the last 3%). And every other car game after that feels slow. its not that the difficulty is the problem, its the inconsistency of the controls that straight up urks me, leaving me angry as hell, its a twitchy game because of that this game makes you work for those trophies. Burnout paradise feels like GTA4 physics - the horrific roll, but that's my opinion. Finally Dominator on PSP is a special kind of Cancer. Don't find it, don't play it, its not worth the time it took to make it, because its basically a port of a sega game released with different SPRITES.
for the psp, the watered down version is quite the blessing but it still holds so many issues such as legend's/takedown's terrible stretch damage and the f1 cars being absolute fucking cancer to drive or battle with
@@AkiRalcolf i loved the shit out of that game. and nothing since then has given me a rush, of difficulty all these shittiy modern games are too f-ing easy. Give me a challenge.

I've got GTA SA, GT4, Spongebob BFBB, Burnout Dominator, etc. I played Burnout Dominator until it finished and i remember shouting at the screen and raging everytime i crashed or taken out by the opponent. The game is really intense but kinda get frustrating everytime i struggle getting gold on the World Tour to unlock a car. The soundtrack i think kinda 'Cheesy' but not really and the soundtrack i love the most is: 1. Sugarcult - Dead Living 2. Killswitch Engage - My Curse 3. B'z - Friction 4. I like Burnout Dominator over Revenge
- Removal of Crash Mode never bothered me as I found Crash Mode to be rather repetitive in Burnout 3 and to be rather boring in Revenge
-Props to them removing Traffic Checking as in Revenge it took away lots of tension from the racing and was just silly IMO
-I find the racing and handling to be very fun and polished to a even finer grade than Revenge.
(More lights, reflections etc.)
- I prefer the soundtrack over Paradises final tracklist.
@@grandtheftaero1 I also love Burnout Dominator too no joke tho
I do think it does some things better than Revenge, the biggest one being the removal of Revenge's awful rating system. I did enjoy some of the car designs and I did appreciate them for being unique but some of them had minor nitpicks and other bits that personally I didn't like. The AI was far superior and did put up a better challenge, and I find the game to have a better difficulty curve besides some of the problems I named off. I did like how unique and different the tracks were, though they felt relatively bland in terms of encouraging combat as I talked about in the video. I am disappointed at the lack of crash mode, as I did highly enjoy it besides in 3 where it felt highly repetitive, but I'd say Dominator works better in the light of the older games, though still not awful, I don't find it to be... great. I do however think it is highly underrated and shit on for no reason.
but i really like revenge :(((((((( im literally going to fucking kill you for having a different opinion!!!111111111
i honestly really like every addition that revenge made, i think traffic checking worked in revenge since they did optimize the other mechanics for it to work and not be boring, i honestly just view all the burnout games as their own weird little bubble rather than any connected big series, even if during the evolution of the burnout franchise, criterion did learn a lot and the main burnout games got better and better, and i still like dominator even if it feels a bit weird to play but even then i still perfer legends if i wanna play burnout on the go
I wish the Traffic checking comes back in a Nerfed way
Like Asphalt did, if you smash a traffic car from the side (or from the back at a moderate speed) The traffic car just moves around like another competitor
Burnout Dominator was really the only Burnout game I had so I played it the most and then eventually I got Revenge & Paradise.
I complete this game 100% in Christmas 2017

Definitely the Burnout that brought me to know more of them
It was also my first Burnout game. I fucking loved it.
That was my frist to!
I cant stand these new "open world" racing games, so I love any and all the old Burnout games.
Was way more fun than paradise which didn't even feel like burnout racing, felt like I was playing Midnight Club LA
I hate all the open world racing games. They always have really boring gameplay.

Seeing as Burnout Paradise is the only game I played in the series, this is an eye opener for me as to what the series was before it went open world.
I'm actually thinking about that "Off-Road" class
They might reuse the Crash mode pickup trucks and SUV's from Revenge and put them into racing category I guess, Just like how they managed to do that in the Assasin car (Classic Crasher C170 in Revenge)
Don't forget some of Burnout 3's heavyweights as well. They would be fitting.
I think that Dominator was spoused to be focused on speed rather then destruction. Kinda ironic how they call it Dominator but they cut crash mode which is basically you dominating the intersection.
Nobody actually played crash mode. It was a stupid minigame.

Speaking of car designs, the Custom Coupe Ultimate's damage model and physics in Road Rage were so messed up in the PS2 version for some reason, but the PSP version doesn't have this issue, so I wasn't so sure why it was made this way
For some reason cars get taken down fine in road rage, but in races they're suddenly way stronger

@@racedriver43 I said Burnout Dominator is a crossover with THE PREVIOUS BURNOUT GAMES!!!!
@@RGBtheRhinoOverwatcher only in terms of the vehicle list, nothing else is carried over from older games
Burnout Dominator is a Good Game
Many people just thought those reviews are just saying "oh this game is bad" but it's just you talking about the flaws of the game.
but burnout dominator was my childhood!!
Kid me and adult me still have that in common. Wondering why this one song is on here in multiple languages.
0:07 "Every car here is red"

I'm gonna be honest with you I don't like your opinion but I respect it. This was my first Burnout game so I can't say this is the best. This game is one of the most fun I've played at the time I was a kid, right next to Midnight Club 3.
IIRC was my first Burnout as well, if not my second. I don't hate it, but I like to come down to Earth and realize where it falls short of a Burnout game. Probably should've made that more clear.
Ive noticed most of the soundtrack is burnout paradise
Its so much fun reading how everyone is pointing out the title and the author having to explain it almost every single time...I wonder what the issue is?
This was my first ever racing game
I found it odd that the ps2 version had impact time sounds and the PSP doesn't.
It could be something to do with the fact it was built off of Legends, which removed it for presumably a good reason I'd home.

Before I even start this video I want to say I liked Revenge less than Dominator.
burnout dominator is my second favorite, first on the list is 3
Who could've said it was bad??
That person needs to go to jail fr
At least it had an AMAZING soundtrack with that brutal remix of Burnout 2's theme, collapse by saosin, going though changes by army of me and many others. And even with the new songs in Burnout Paradise, the ones that came from Dominator were still my favorites (Girlfriend does NOT count)
This game was for people who listen to rockabilly that's why the cars and the city looks the way it does
Oe thing i miss about burnout 3 and legends that i wish they kept in reveng and dominator is that when you take a car down it shows the actual wreckage of the car. Revenge and dominator try to show it off through some angle to try to make it look cool. Im glad paradise kept this to some extent.
Yeah on dominator and revenge i had my takedown camera off😂
i don't understand what you mean
Wait. People considered Dominator as a bad Burnout game?? wtf? I thought it was awesome..
you'd be surprised, if you're talking about myself you should probably take a second to read the pinned comment
I feel like dominator was just a last minute attempt from EA to scrape the last bit of money they could from the ps2.
i like the harsher combat, it's a nice contrast compared to b3 or paradise per say where one slap will send them 4 lanes over and guarantee a takedown
No it doesn't you moron. It's the same thing. The thing that kills it is the Outrageous Bloom
burnout dominator have no crash mode, traffic attack, and boost 4×
the game feels too simplified, even the crash are amost just wall takedowns, not much objects assets to see the crash with enviroments, and the roads some are nice, but a lot are just curvy lines with nothing more, feel like a hotwheels track more than a real place.
psdt.: burnout revenge got the better roads with a lot of side tracks.
sorry for bad english.
looking at new NFS and other lootbox-filled crap, Burnout instantly becomes the best arcade racing game EVAR
2:22 an off-road class imo would of probably been good but then again for a Burnout game that wouldn't fit in
Avril lavenge imo should've been cut for both dominator and paradise
It's been about ten years since I've played Burnout Dominator so I don't remember much I need to find a ps2
Your opinion is quite detailed which I like but then again I can't agree with it since I haven't played it for ten years
i can't say i'd hate an off-road class but i really wouldn't know what to expect regarding in how it would play with one
This game could be much better than what we got, this game is only 1gb in the ps2 version,it's a REALLY tiny game, this game could maybe have customization (would be interesting to see custom vinlys and custom paints) Open World,or maybe have crash mode (i hate crash mode but some fans like it)
but burnout dominator is still an great game, has flaws in some areas but it feels like burnout!
Reasons Why Burnout Dominator is awesome. Sound effects and crash breaker.
varying environments, a far more refined system of boost, harder ai, well-rounded artsyle, and the most variety of modes (even if some kinda suck lol)
How is crash even a burnout, no driving or anything
It’s not even crash mode
Imagine paradise just crash mode instead of burnout crash thing
You have to see Dominator for what it was, a PSP Version of Revenge, nothing more nothing less

Burnout 3 and Revenge definitely tops it. I love the gritty feel of Revenge and the tracks that look like they're in a smoggy area in LA.
Revenge and 3 Takedown were better! Dominator was not so good even though it was a spinoff. The two things that I hated about Dominator were no crash mode and no traffic checking.
traffic checking i could live without, 3 being better is highly debatable

I won't lie I actually like the car designs.
Would off-road in a Burnout game just basically be Motorstorm?
I've never played Motorstorm so I wouldn't be able to answer that question.
@mr.kool As said in the video, this was stated by SuperType1/GrandTheftAero himself.
@mr.kool He mentioned this on Discord one day digging through Dominator. It's in the Burnout Discord server which you can find an invite to on the subreddit somewhere. Icon should be a big red B.
By far the worst game in the series is Paradise. Atleast Dominator had a main menu and tracks to choose from.
I actually really enjoyed Dominator, especially on the PSP.
Honestly ? Is not bad, far from it, it was fun, but everytime i played, i played with a feeling that "this game could be better", my major problem with this game was the cars desing, they're awful.
oh for sure, some of the designs were absolutely terrifying, but most can be saved with some simple edits
Disagree. I like them

The game is really intense but kinda get frustrating everytime i struggle getting gold on the World Tour to unlock a car. The soundtrack i think kinda 'Cheesy' but not really and the soundtrack i love the most is:
1. Sugarcult - Dead Living
2. Killswitch Engage - My Curse
3. B'z - Friction
4. Army Of Me - Going Through Changes
5. Senses Fail - Calling All Cars
but wait, there's an Avril Lagvine?. Goddammit i turned it off. When i got Burnout Legends on my PSP it change my mind and i was like
"Screw Dominator, this one much better!" but after i finally bought Burnout Revenge i became like
"Now this is what Burnout supposed to be".
Note: i don't hate Dominator, i'm still playing it until today (too bad the disc is broken) and i also still play Burnout Legends on PPSSPP. It just too hard and frustrating.
If you want play Burnout dominator in ppsspp.... That easy.... And if you have console it will like playing ps2 on Android
Now Now, Was it really?
It was alright, albeit quite overlooked and underrated in its own right. I don't hate it but as I've previously said, I don't let my love for games blind me to their mistakes.
This stuff is very interesting. I like it.
Thank you, I have 2 current commentary videos like this in the works, though I might end up canning one. If you'd be interested in either of those they should be releasing in the coming months, hopefully before the end of February.
