As a long-term Vespa rider(2006 GTS250) I have to say that the new HPE version looks like the next step for me when mine finally is laid to rest. The GTS scooters are exceptionally functional and so fun to ride. It was a pleasure to see yours riding through the city. My own Vespa and motorcycle riding here in central Pennsylvania is markedly different but the same thrill and pleasure is there. And it's fun to make videos of the experience!
Thanks for checking the video out! Yes indeed, the HPE version is a joy to ride and very quick. Amazingly efficient in the heavy London traffic. Got to say that I have driven ode on rural Pennsylvania roads too and they are FUN! Beautiful and peaceful... Lucky you. All the best and safe riding. Enjoy your new HPE someday when you retire the present Vespa. You will definitely enjoy it, especially on a nice rural road!
@@jamesnickel4748 I used to think my current GTS would go on forever but I've been pretty hard on it. And so has winter salt and grit. It's still hanging on but I have to wonder...
@@ScooterintheSticks I don't think EVEN a Vespa will go on forever. A friend of mine has an old Vespa with 200,000 miles on it. Two rebuilds I believe but he loves it. I took it for a spin and it's definitely not new but does the trick around here! When it's time, it's time! You will love the new GTS, that I guarantee you. Safe riding! 😎
@@jamesnickel4748 I had a conversation with a Piaggio regional manager years ago about the lifespan of the GTS. He said I can expect 60K on the engine if properly maintained before I might need some top end work. Maybe more. I suspect when some serious engine work is required is when I'll decide to buy another.
Thank you, I do love the little scoot. Traffic is terrible here and this helps to alleviate some of the pain sitting in traffic. Not a bad little motorway cruiser either, in February my son and I will head to Spain for a few weeks, me with the Vespa, and him with a KTM. Thanks for watching and all the best. Safe riding if you ride on 2 wheels. 😄
Thanks for the video. I've just bought my first Vespa a Racing 60's which collect next week. I have never ridden a cooter before as I've always had sports bikes, but after many years seeing scooter riders in cities I decided to take the plunge.

good one on the gloves, usually mr, cool or rookie not wearing them. have u had to top off oil? reading some starting in '21 a bit of a "watch: needed.
I understand what you mean, I can't imagine riding a bike without gloves! In regards to the oil, doesn't burn a bit. I now drive it quite hard too.... Full throttle a lot of the time. I do keep a close eye on the oil as well. I have heard that too, that with this particular new powerful engine one must watch closely. An awesome little bike, and I love it! Have a great day, thanks for watching. 😄
I don't really agree with the commenters saying the bike needs a feminine name instead of a masculine one. Hercules is a great name. I don't really get what is disconcerting enough about a boy's name on a bike to compel multiple comments, I guess.
Really great. I just bought a 2022 300 GTS down in South Florida. You should do a little riding series covering the basics for scooters considering you have a lot of motorcycle experience. Not much content on UA-cam specifically for first time scooter riders and not every is applicable from the motorcycle videos (no clutch/friction zone on scooters, etc.).
I would love to do that " little riding series", however, I just don't have the time nor the expertise. I will leave that to another "expert". Sounds like you've got yourself a great bike too! You also have a much better climate to ride it in than me in cloudy old England! Enjoy your awesome scooter... You're going to have some fun! All the best and thank you for watching. Safe riding! 😎

I don't know if you stated as such but I more than suspect you are CDN.. Not only your accent but as soon as you said "Parkade" at the start of your ride, it was all but confirmed. That is pretty much a term that only us CDN's use. Cheers from Vancouver Island. I'm in the market for a Vespa GTS, hence your video popped up in my suggestions.
Ha ha, yes, how right you are. I am indeed a Canadian from both Toronto and Vancouver. Have been out in London for many many years, since the mid 90s but as I was older when I left Canada, my Canadian accent is still here. I hope you found the little video of some relevance. You will like or should I say love the GTS. It's a good looker and a hoot to ride. I think other bikes in the market may be somewhat better in overall quality, (not that the Vespa is bad by any means because it is not), however, if you want classic, the Vespa can't be beat. It's a quick little bike and ideal for heavy traffic... Remarkably good on the motorway too, as long as you don't mind cruising at 60 to 65 mph. I will be going to Spain in February 2023 with my son for about a month of touring around, the north of Spain to the south in Marbella. Should be lots of fun. Anyways, good luck with your purchase and safe riding! All the best and enjoy the island... Vancouver Island is awesome! 😎
No, just wanted a two wheeler that was capable of busting central London traffic better than my 750 or car. The scooter is much lighter and considerably more nimble. That's why I got the scooter! Thanks for checking it out and all the best. 😎
