@uchimataman Guess what I was hit by a car doing. Uber Eats on my E bike and put in a hospital for 4 days and almost killed. Guess what I still make trips so say never is too late, we have all the time in the world, peace!!
Wow, can't post photos here but I spotted Grettle in Istanbul in 2015. I took a photo at the time as I thought UK to Istanbul on a Vespa was impressive, I now discover that the actual full journey was even more impressive.
It is an incredible journey. Emma reminds me of the journey Shreve Stockton (Vespa Vagabond blog) did across the US, or perhaps more in common with Itchy Boots here on UA-cam. Inspiring stuff. Courageous beyond anything I can imagine doing. I wish my videos had even a fraction of the cinematic qualities that this one does. I'll be adding an ET4 to my stable soon. I wonder if it will inspire me to travel around the world?? Bravo Emma!
Emma should team up with Itchy Boots and do it all all over again. Just loved her story. The dog is beautiful and oh so lucky, good on you Emma. Looking forward to hearing of your trip in my home country.
Emma is amazing. She traveled country to country to country. I wouldn’t even do that here in NJ from State to State. Those “ What ifs?” She talked about……. Yeah that’s me. Only way I’ll do that is with a group. So mad props to her and her bravery and spontaneous character.
it's so true that the hardest part is making the decision to do something big, and then once committed it all falls into place. i love the can-do attitude more than anything else. great story !!
Sounds like an amazing journey for one person to take during their life . Seeing wonderful things and beautiful place along her journey , enjoying life . Kudos to you.
In the early 80's, I had a 1980 Vespa P200E. I've owned many two wheelers, and now three-wheelers, since and that Vespa was probably the most fun I ever had on a motorcycle. It got even better after I got a sidecar for it. Enjoy your rides and be safe...
Hi Emma, what a brilliant trip! I have made it a point to show your story to my two little nieces (10/11). I think they should find some inspiration in your adventure. Be happy, be safe EDIT: My oldest niece (Britney, we call her Brit) who is almost 12 has decided to buy herself a "motorized bicycle" she does not need a driver license. She lives in Wauchula, FL. USA, a small town of 5,000. Brit has decided she will ride her motor-bike to a state park about 150 miles from us. As her bike can not exceed 20 mph to be legal and taking backroads she is planning for a 2 day trip. Camping at another state park along the way. I have been designated as "The Ghost". I am to watch over her, yet must remain out of her sight so this will be her first "solo" trip. She has her maps all laid out with her route, her stopping points for lunch and some sight seeing. She already has a little 2 person tent, sleeping bag, single burner propane cooker, and her food stores planned. Her father/mother are supportive but not thrilled with her adventure. They all blame you of course. I have taken Brit to look at several motor-bikes however she hasn't found one that "talks to her yet." I am extremely excited! While the majority of girls her age are talking about boys, school drama, and the latest fashions my niece is taking action to make her adventures come true. Just wanted to say thanks.....
I have watched this story several times and each time I just say, "Amazing". Emma, you are an inspiration, especially to those who might not think they have the adventure in them to do something as challenging and thank you for taking us along parts of it.
I was so inspired by this that I rode my Vespa all the way through France to Italy last year. It was a great adventure and I made loads of friends. I am going to do it again this year...but probably not coming back, ever!!!!
That was so cool what an amazing trek across the world...A beautifully well transformational experience and the rescued pup as well.! The joining of two wandering Souls in the wonderful journey of life...❣️...🇬🇧.... Free the Spirit inside us all find that grass thats greener on the other side of the wall...🤫...🙂🙃...
Wooow, this is amazing! You´re a legend!! I travelled on my Vespa, a red PX200, from Berlin to Sagres in Portugal and to southern Spain. Thats 21 years ago, when I was in my early thirties, and its one of the great adventures in my life. I can so relate to your experience and look forward to your journey to SA!
Four years ago I did Russia and back on my Honda 750 considered a “ small bike by many . No problem at all , modern machines are extremely capable of marathon trips , seem to thrive on it . But well done Emma , brilliant trip !
Whooow! This is SO coool ! :) :) We were traveling from Argentina to Alaska by car with my wife but we fell in love with Bolivia and stayed here. Never reached Alaska haha. Last Sunday was my wife's bday and I surprised her with a lovely Vespa 300 GTS.... this video gives me some ideas hahaha :) Well done Emma !!!!!!!!! And congrats to the editors of this video. It's amazing.
Very impressive, the video and the travel. Suddenly my own adventures are little more than a walk to the corner shop by comparrison. Look forward to hearing more about your wonderful adventures and how the Vespa performed. Currently Im in Bali and go everywhere by scooter, NMax or Vario usually so a bit bigger than yours, but you are right, the best is having nothing between you and the people and landscapes, fresh air all around. Please stay safe.
First time watching so a couple of questions:- was Emma accompanied by a camera crew in a car/truck? And if not where did she carry her stuff (clothes, camping, food, spares….etc)
Wow, great trip, would love to know how the Vespa faired mechanically and what adversities were overcome. I’ve an ET2 in the garage with little mileage on it - hmmm.
Quite possibly the best short clip you will watch all year. It was brilliant. Should be compulsory viewing in schools. Some kids do geography, she lived it.
I enjoy road trip journey stories and this one was so amazing! Thanks to the crew who brought this to us especially Producer Eden Cooney. Congrats on this project and hope you're well, Eden! - Kawal (long-time family friend)
This girl is wonderfully inspiring. Incredible. I always feel sorry for leaving a stray dog in Ireland ,that poor thing , fooled me around. I thought I couldn't take it to France.
L.O.V.Ed seeing this. Raised my feel good vibration. I'm in Soweto South Africa, just got my learners to drive a scooter. It's gonna be interesting... I have never seen a township mother and daughter team on a scooter. Love seeing women trust and follow their spirit.
I was inspired by watching Gintama Anime and got myself a silver Vespa... It's a great experience.. I love traveling on my vespa. It's my daily driver and also my adventure vehicle on weekends
nice one.. great when you have a firm base to adventure out from.. with no worries about bills or mortgage etc.. the way the world is going this will be harder to do i fear.? i have an urge to scooter from n.kent down to greece.. this is inspiring... good on her
In almost every case it's the extremely privileged journeying out. Ed March and King of the Road are some of the only people I know who don't fall into that category.
it's a very valid point - two years travelling (especially as a woman) must incur a lot of nights in B'nB type establishments let alone visa, food, and fuel
You can tell that she is such a loving awesome person! I wish I had the opportunity to drive my 05 gt Vespa across Europe, I would be so happy and free
Weird. I have ridden chinese scooters and they were able to easily put 10k km without any issues engine wise. Do you mean valve adjustment or really engine repair? I find your story hard to believe. Did you do any performance adjustment? I also own a performance upgraded vespa and no issues yet even after 12k km
I would be interested in any repairs, parts that had to be found, etc. Surely there were some hiccups. It would be interesting to know how they were handled.
Amazing woman. This model of Vespa is actually considered as one of the worst vespas ever built, which makes this even more incredible! Be safe in Africa, God bless you
I regret buying a 2020 primavera. Watching some videos about rust issues. I found rust spots as well underneath and in the battery compartment. Piaggio never do things correctly anymore

A real life "wes Anderson" character. Major props to her adventure and living in the moment. Production on this was top notch!
Ah yeah that's it. You nailed it.
It was made professionally. That's why the production values are high.
Sponsored by Vespa and on their channel. I’m guessing they threw a couple dollars at this 😅
Nah, it's just the editing. That's art.
I love travelling with a scooter for 150km every weekend. It is very fun, the slow speed where you can appreciate the world around is part of the fun.
Also at that speed you have reaction time
This in one of the best short feel good documentaries I've seen in a long time. Fabulous.
What a journey. Who says the little bikes can't go touring! LOL! Absolutely epic! Truly inspirational stuff!
Best travels I've made were with small bikes or shitty cars❤
The more vulnerable you are, the better😊
A middle class hippy woman absolutely ruining the image of the once proud Vespa name what a shame
@@matthewsmith8727How did she ruin it? By proving their reliability? I’m sure Piaggio did not mind at all as we can see here. Don’t be an idiot, lol.
I'm sure the mechanic did a lot of new parts. Almost certainly changed piston and cylinder resurface.
@@matthewsmith8727 no need to be jelly my friend. Go get yourself one and show us your adventure. I’ll watch it for sure.
Met Emma in the pub last night, excellent character, great story, well done!
Wow ! Good on you!
I just bought a new light green Primavera 150 for myself for my 76th birthday. Now I’m REALLY inspired 😊
Just bought a Piaggio Medley 125 scooter last year. Love it. Just had 78th birthday. Wish I had done trips. Too late now. Too many medical probs!
@uchimataman Guess what I was hit by a car doing. Uber Eats on my E bike and put in a hospital for 4 days and almost killed. Guess what I still make trips so say never is too late, we have all the time in the world, peace!!
That accident happened one month ago and then I ended up buying a burgman four hundred suzuki fantastic, burgman 400 scooter 2023
I've been a Vespa/Lambretta scooterist for over 40 years with this being the most amazing scooter story I've heard of. Respect... loads of it.
Have you heard of Ed March?
@Domenik No I'm afraid I haven't.
Google Vesparicana. A German guy went from Northern Alaska to Southern Argentina on a Vespa PX 125!
You should ask her out on a date, I think it would be the most amazing thing ever and I’d have so much respect for you
Why isn't this story been made more public and into a documentary or film. Amazing solo and a girl in some dodgy areas. ⭐⭐⭐
Dodgy politically but I’m sure all those locals were super welcoming and nice.
Probably because she went travelling, not filming..
Because she is a girl did it and most men don’t even make it 🤣 that’s why
because it is an "ad" for Vespa. Who do you think paid for this? The girl "donated" all the footage, as far as the credits say.
Because nowadays lots of people do this kind of travelling/exploring. It's not unusual any more.
What an incredible woman. What a great story.

I love hearing stories of people on small, inexpensive bikes making great trips. It proves any motorcycle is the right motorcycle for travel.
