Hi, I'm Jim!
Nice to meet you if we've never met!
I'm in property and media. I live in Kensington, London. These videos are fun.... NOT business!
There's nothing serious here, family and friends... the important things!
You may find a lot of it irrelevant, even boring, that's TRUE!
It's mainly just cruising around London and Spain anyways!
Sure I could have kept the videos private but what fun is that?!
If you don't like it don't watch! 🤣
What's here is a perspective of my home.
It's geared to friends and family... a way of keeping in touch across different continents!
Even if you're not family, but you like a bike ride, dig dogs, kites, Spain, hiking, or are just surfing the web looking to amuse yourself and wound up here, have a look.
I'd love for one of these videos to make you smile or show you a different slant on something.
NONE of that same old same old for me thanks!
So, Take a look and make a comment!
Sit back and enjoy.
DO have a wonderful day!

Thanks for sharing I couldn’t get tickets so now feel like I was there!
No problem! 😃
How much was it new?
I believe the price I paid for it was around £1100. This was in 2016 in London at Evans cycles Fulham. I've since got rid of it and got a Trek Mountain bike. It was a great bike but liked the Trek better. all the best!
@@jamesnickel4748 thank you. I'm thinking of placing a bid on a 2016 model and that helps
@@johnrichardson7785 good luck with the bid!😀
Its jot just the dry clutch those joise also its the valve tapping which they are good when became to tight you dont hear any noise........its a combination of both clutch and valve put your hear next cylinder you ca hear the tap
I got my 850 special last week. During my test ride and the first half an hour of being the new owner I didnt hear anything strange. Then suddenly I had an additional "taking" sound when in neutral. I say 9 out of 10 times I now hear this additional noise and sometimes I dont. It feels like the bike is not perfectly in neutral gear when that extra taking/nailing sound is there. And the sound is also gone when I pull the clutch. Since I just got the bike and never heard those noises on the 1 hour test ride I also wonder of something is wrong. Not a technical guy but should it not always sound the same in neutral no matter what you do with the clutch?
It's been doing the same thing for years now and absolutely no problems… I quite like the sound of the bike now that it has matured with me LOL. At first it bothered me, but not anymore and from what I understand from what everybody has said nothing is wrong.
Just recently bought this bike in pakistan And im happy its also used in uk aswell
Was wondering why your high beam light was on until 11:30 😂
During the daytime, I often drive with the high Beam on 0:28 just to make sure people see me. At night I wouldn't, but during the day it just provides an extra measure of safety. 😃

I just picked up this same bike for 999 usd. Excellent condition overall. I wonder where this particular bike was manufactured?
Very nice! Good deal if it is in nice shape. I still enjoy mine a great deal and have modified it somewhat. New tires, carbon fibre, handlebar, new seat... Little things to personalise it. Still performance magnificently. Enjoy yours! Where is it's manufactured? Your guess is as good as mine! Thailand, China, USA? I'm not sure, if you find out, let me know please! Safe, riding, and all the best. 😄
@@jamesnickel4748 for sure, I’ll let you know what I find out! I’m getting the bike back from the shop this Thursday-standard tune ups were needed. Also ended up ordering some Maxxis DHR II’s for the front and rear since I need the traction out here on the Colorado trails. Slightly bigger width-2.3-than what came with the bike but I assume it’ll be just fine
Kite? I thought it was a shark jaw ?😂
sounds amazing ... still got the quad?
All gone, but it was nice while it lasted! 😄
Hello. Nice review of the bike. Do you still have it after all this time? I'm thinking about buying one used that's in like new condition and all stock except the tires. They are asking $1550 US for it. I'm wondering if you could tell me if it's worth it based on your experience with the bike and current bicycle marketing conditions? Or what about $1350? I was thinking about making that as a counter-offer. Thank you. By the way, just curious but do you live over there in the UK or were you just over there visiting on like a business trip or vacation? Cycling around Hyde Park sounds pretty awesome.
Glad you liked the review of the bike! And yes, indeed, I do still possess this bicycle. I have, since upgraded the handlebar to a Trek carbon fibre model bar, upgraded the seat to something more to my liking, and now run a slightly bigger tire on the rear as well (2.20x29). I probably have between five and 6000 miles on the bike And it has given me nothing but fun! I don't recall exactly what I paid for the bike, but it was somewhere around £1500 which would be roughly $2000 US. All I can say is that it has been an excellent bike for my type of use, which is rough trails within central London and single track in suburban London. It is a larger bike, and perhaps not quite as nimble as some twitchier mountain bikes, but it is by no means lethargic or sluggish and pushed hard on a gravel road or rough trail, it really moves. I have named the bike Mickey LOL. If you could get one for about $1500 US and it's in good condition I think you'll be getting a good deal, but of course I haven't seen the bike so I couldn't attest to it. My experience is extremely positive, and I love my bike like crazy! That being said, when I move to Cyprus in a couple of years to semi-retire, I will likely get a full suspension carbon fibre track to complement this one for rougher mountain trails. But I will definitely keep this bike as well! So, I would say, if you can get that bike for the price you're talking, that would be excellent, and I think he'd like it… Of course, do give it a good test ride first! Yes, I do live in the UK, central London, for many many years but I'm from Canada (Vancouver) originally. And yes, it is a lot of fun riding around Hyde Park, but even nicer when I can get out to the hills in Surrey in the south part of London. Thanks for watching the video, I hope you make the right decision buying the bike and safe riding to you. All the best! 😄 Jim
@@jamesnickel4748 Thank you for the response and all the information you gave. Much appreciated. I did catch your updated video you did 2 years after this one and saw you still had it after a couple years. Your bike still looked great after putting a few thousand miles on it. I was curious about the piece that routes the front derailleur cable that broke off the seat tube. Do you know if that is a common issue with that particular model frame or was your situation just a one-off? That was a little bit of a concern for me because while I've heard Trek has pretty excellent warranty coverage on their frames (and it sounds like they took care of you pretty well), I'm not sure if the frame warranty would extend past the original owner. I guess worst case scenario would be if it happened to me I could maybe just go with a 1x drivetrain. One of the reasons I'm looking at the Superfly 9.7 though is because I actually prefer 2x a bit more. Thanks again for your vids and for taking the time to respond. Peace to you.
@@madcapper6 Hi again, not sure I'm not sure if that piece that broke off the bike was a common issue. When it happened, it really surprised me. Trek told me it was not common and they did fix it free of charge. It was at this point in time that I did my upgrades, just seemed like a good time to do it when the bike was out of commission. From what I know, I believe the Trek warranty is for a lifetime, but as you say, whether that passes to subsequent owners I'm not sure! Trek could tell you that. Excellent idea, going with a 1x system, if it did ever fail… Nothing wrong with a single sprocket! The full suspension, I will purchase likely in a years time will be a 1x. In any event, I think you would like the bike, but it would be imperative to take it for a spin first to make sure the seller says it is everything he claims! I think it's a good looking bike as well, in addition to being a stellar performer! In my humble opinion, I think the bike is pretty good value for that price! The components are excellent, not the best in the world, but definitely excellent quality workhorse type kit. Good luck with the decision and again, all the best, much fun and safe riding to you! 😄 Jim

For his next birthday, I think I will get him a nice safety razor kit, a German safety razor set up, a nice English brush, and some proper Italian shaving cream et cetera. I do keep a close eye on the oil as well. I have heard that too, that with this particular new powerful engine one must watch closely. An awesome little bike, and I love it! Nice kite! Have you flown it again since, how are you liking it?
Yes, I fly at about three or four times a year in the UK and still love it. I flew it in Cyprus 3 years ago and it threw me for a loop but thank goodness I wasn't seriously hurt. It has a lot of power in a 40 mile an hour wind! Yes, it is an awesome kite... Just be careful in a really powerful wind! 😎

That is pretty much a term that only us CDN's use. Cheers from Vancouver Island. I'm in the market for a Vespa GTS, hence your video popped up in my suggestions.
Ha ha, yes, how right you are. I am indeed a Canadian from both Toronto and Vancouver. Have been out in London for many many years, since the mid 90s but as I was older when I left Canada, my Canadian accent is still here. I hope you found the little video of some relevance. You will like or should I say love the GTS. It's a good looker and a hoot to ride. I think other bikes in the market may be somewhat better in overall quality, (not that the Vespa is bad by any means because it is not), however, if you want classic, the Vespa can't be beat. It's a quick little bike and ideal for heavy traffic... Remarkably good on the motorway too, as long as you don't mind cruising at 60 to 65 mph. I will be going to Spain in February 2023 with my son for about a month of touring around, the north of Spain to the south in Marbella. Should be lots of fun. Anyways, good luck with your purchase and safe riding! All the best and enjoy the island... Vancouver Island is awesome! 😎

There are few Guzzi riders with the same worrying noises (your video between minute 12:21 and 12:25) even on the Guzzi V85. Cheers 🙂
Problem solved long ago and in the end it turns out there was no problem! The noise is just a characteristic of it having a dry clutch. Nothing has become of noise since I heard it a long time ago. As a long-term Vespa rider(2006 GTS250) I have to say that the new HPE version looks like the next step for me when mine finally is laid to rest.
