Your recovery process was an inspiration to me and reminded me just how long it took for me to heal my right leg after tearing the sciatic nerve 17 years ago. I tore it again last July. The leg will be back in a couple more months, but my left shoulder probably 6 to 12 months! *I'm sure I could have gotten the leg back in 2-4 months since the July tear, but it took me a long time to get my head back into it.*
Martins... thanks you mate!! ❤ i live in Nabarra and when i see your video... pfff awesome!! 🥰🥰 good job! Incredible, the respect for the vasque culture, the people and the Herri Kirolak. Im sure you are THE HARRIJASOTZAILE!! Nice to see people like you, big boy with strong heart 💪💪 ZORIONAK!!!
@Mobutusese I bet you like small farm animals.. And yes, we are a race. A very old race, with a ton of culture and history. There's no need to get nasty. But I'm sure uncapable of not being nasty so that's fine.
Basque Country is absolutely beautiful, from the landscape, architecture, food, and of course strong and noble people. I didn’t want to leave either when I visited
Congratulations on another stunning production. The genuine respect shown throughout the entire Strength Unknown series is a pure joy to watch and everyone involved should be proud of bringing these different strength cultures to the attention of a wider audience. Well done. I can't wait to see where else you take us.
You can really feel the Basque living, the emotion in everything they do. The shush at 7:27 because something very important is going to happen and we need silence for it, so good
Strength unknown embodies my favorite description of strongman. The sport isn't about winning, as much as it feels like a war on gravity, where every inch is to be celebrated. Winning is nice, but the biggest enemy is how heavy the obstacles, not the competitor next to you
Greetings from Bilbao, in the basque country, and must say that I loved your video, I hope you had a great experience in our lands, you made a really beautiful work and you should feel proud of what you´ve achieved.
"It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.”- Socrates Incredible Martins, just incredible. I'm loving your journey man... I am along for the ride.
As a young person getting into strongman, it is so interesting watching martins discover the origins of strength. One of my favourite videos to be uploaded to UA-cam.
Thanks for all, Licis, from Euskal Herria. You will return, and not once, but many times. Whoever leaves here, repeats, for our culture, and of course, for our gastronomy. Many things bind you to this earth. You have captivated us, and I think we have captivated you too.
Something really great about the production quality of this series is it feels like something I could show my friends or family that aren't strongman fans. Can't wait to see the episode with Janashia and Levan.
This event with a group of strongman along with you would be so cool to see. Taking the Stoltman brothers, mateusz , Brian etc. would be insane to see.
My history professor in University once told us that, in the basque language, certain tools still have the word "stone" in them, meaning that these words where passed on from generation to generation since the stone age. Truly the oldest people of Europe.
A few months ago a very important and significant archaeological discovery was made to situate the Basque people a little better chronologically in history. The discovery is called "The Hand of Irulegi". Check it out.

Amazing documentary, respect to the Basque people and Martins from Greece. The production value was great. Nothing more beautiful than people honoring their traditions with so much passion.
A little fun fact here! The sport Jai Alai that's been played all along the USA is a basque sport too. And not only in the USA, also in more countries around the world. Jai Alai means something like "Happy celebration" in euskera. Hope to see you soon around here!
Martins is honestly doing so much to push strongman and other similar strength sports to a wider audience. It's a whole ass subculture of it's own with history rooted in so many parts of the world. Honestly love this guy for all his effort. Dude brings so much personality, knowledge and strength to the table it's insane 🔥
This man’s humility makes this channel what it is. Thank you for making such a magnificent mini series on one of our traditional sports. This is what I call quality film making and of course sportsmanship! I hope to see you back soon and good luck on your next adventure
Thanks! This series makes me so happy. So well done, from the sights, sounds, back drops, to Martins soothing documentary voice. Epic places with epic strength. Thank you and look forward to the Georgia unknown strength.
Seeing where your family comes from online is normal for some but for a person who had basque grandparents I never meet, this video was so special. Thank you.
Thank you so much Martin and team for this beautiful and tasteful series about the strength, perseveration and humbleness of the Basque County's people. I'm sure that you have been well taken care of with plenty of food and and generous smiles! They are considered closed minded people but once you enter in their friendship circle you are all in. Mesmerizing! So many amazing moments in this episode alone. I loved seeing the camaraderie of training, a chance opportunity to see the tug-of-war team, and the emotion of the competition. The little moments hit me as well. The excitement of the children when you answered them was a particular favorite of mine. I can't imagine how many other special sights and experiences couldn't make it to camera, but thank you guys so much for your effort in sharing what you can with us.
Why am I getting chills watching this series? All it makes me want to do is find something I'm as passionate about as the people of Basque are about any sport they do.
Something is really special about this series. During this videos I particularly enjoyed the humbling experience of starting to take the other peoples input and graciously putting it into practice. Love to see it ❤
What a fantastic documentary. It really made me emotional to see my land and culture being represented with such love, specially as I am living abroad.
