- An analysis and discussion of the 2012 live episode of 30 Rock, “Live From Studio 6H”, along with its subsequent removal from streaming services
I do not own any of the clips used in this video. 30 Rock is property of NBCUniversal, Rock of Ages (film) belongs to Warner Bros., and The Fast and the Furious films are property of Universal
Trivia: in the east coast version, Jane portrays Dusty Springfield with a Sutherrrrrrn accent. Between shows, someone must have told her that Dusty is indeed English and Jane does the West coast version with a proper accent.
For those who remember: BANJO!
I remember!
Nothing like a fan to suck all the funny out.
I’ve been watching a lot of 30 rock compilation videos, and this is such a breath of fresh air. Congratulations on making this video!!
Woah this unlocked old memories for me. I remember watching this when it aired with my parents when I was a kid. I don’t think I realized it was live lol
Can’t believe this has under 1k views. This is amazing, thank you!
I have 30 Rock on DVD so this episode is available to me and is funny as hell. They were not trying to be offensive with the Jon Hamm-Tracey Jordan except to exaggerate the racism displayed at thst time and yes, Amos and Andy was racist. I saw it as a kid and it was cringe despite the talents of the actors.
Leave it Jimmy Fallon to ruin something.
Or, Leave it 'TO' you.
I get that it was kinda shocking and could've upset some people, but the whole point in that particular controversial sketch was very very evidently not racist/malicious. There's an important place for that particular type of humor. You have to sort of trust the audience a lot with that kind of humor.
This. It was using humor to highlight and mock the racism in previous eras of television.
anyone offended shouldn't have been born
Thank you for validating my vague memory of this double episode
I hope to hell that Fey is the one that takes over for Lorne when he retires.
Gruber Brother and Nipsey is a send up to Smother Brothers and Laugh in. Both legendary, live comedy shows
I didn't know season 5 had a live episode too.
Fred Armison was hilarious during the telethon sketch. I’m so mad at myself for missing him as Judah Friedlander and working on the set.
However I love knowing he’s there now.
Great back stories on 30 Rocks lives shows !!!
Where is the previous 30 rock video, which was mentioned in the beginning of this video?
The Black face and hand, is hilarious.
So dressing in drag, no problem but black face andbblack hand, which are both funny, unacceptable.
The Nipsy is most likely a reference, to Nipsy Russel, who Was a variety
Show and game show.
Unfortunately double standards
@@h.l.asolomonov7674they are different things to different people. The histories are different. It’s just how shit is
Perhaps "Gruber Brother" is a reference to "The Higgins Boys And Gruber," an early 1990s show on The Comedy Channel featuring Steve Higgens, Dave Higgins and Dave "The Gruber" Allen.
yeah, & guess who complained?
old rich white America women (AKA Karens)
...did you hear Teacy Morgan complaining?
Nope.
It was an important statement, but including that outspoken moment of condemnation in her "SNL" performance without letting producers in on it ahead of time was definitely a mistake. However, yes, rest in peace, Sinead. 🕊
Zippedy goo goo.
what is the track playing in the background of this video?
Perhaps not tasteful, but the black panther hand is funnier.
When did they get rid of this? Because I’ve seen this.
Great Breakdown

Love that episode
Loved this episode smh
Fake outrage. This one of the wokest shows ever. In a good way. But Hulu doesn’t allow black face just blanket policy I guess. Or brown face anything (Dee dressed as Mexican woman in Always Sunny also banned). If something is funny it’s funny. John hamm is making fun of the white ppl that voiced Amos and Andy? Or something? The point being the shit was criticized by the black guy and the audience you would hope. It’s harder to have edgy humor in a world run by advertisers.
no. not subtle.
I love Kenneth
dvd
Black hand ha ha haaa. Ha haaa
😂
3:27 didn't age well.
I knew he was a hothead, had no idea he'd be a killer. His money & fame and crappy Prosecution Team is how he beat the rap.
“oo wee wow, those racist jokes sure didn’t age well. Let me show you this man in dress, haha, that’s much funnier”
