  • Veteran actor and comedian, Jon Lovitz, (Saturday Night Live, The Critic) sits down with Kevin to chat about his beginning in improv comedy leading to a career spanning television and film. Lovitz serenades Kevin with an original tune about the host, opens up about landing a gig on SNL while urging them to hire Phil Hartman as well, and how his entire persona is basically an impression of Wimpy from Popeye.

    Jon Lovitz as Satan is one of the funniest things I've ever seen, especially when he was on the People's Court telling people to worship him as he's getting kicked out by Rusty.

      Some of my favorites, too. Dan Harmon's episode is really good. Scott Aukerman's is good but I think I'd rather see Pollak on CBB. I've been aware of Kevin for a long time but I didn't really appreciate him until I started watching this show.

    One of the funniest skit that John Lovitz did on SNL involved Jerry Hall(Mrs. Mic Jagger) walking into a bar sitting one seat down from John at the bar and John starts up his biggest liar routine. He is hitting on her and trying to impress her. He notes that the Rolling Stones are in town "and, uh, I'm their manager, yeah, that's the ticket!" So, Jerry hall who was married to Mic at the time says "so, you're telling me you know Mic Jagger?"
    John says something ridiculous like "uh, yeah, yeah, I'm his manager and I write all of their songs for them, yeah, that's the ticket!"
    Well, about one second later, Mic Jagger walks into the "bar" It had not been announced that he was going to be on the show so, it was every much a surprise.
    Jerry says" hey Mic, this guy says he is your manager!" and Lovitz's eyes get huge and this look of Uh oh, I'm sunk comes over his face.
    Well, right then Mic Jagger says "uh, yeah, yeah, that's the ticket, yeah, uh remember when You were asking where I was the other night? well, uh, I was with him! Yeah!, yeah! that's the ticket!"
    It is one of the funniest guest spot ever on SNL

      Trapped in Paradise is worth watching. One of the reviews on imdb complains, "no directing, just gathering some actors together and turning them loose" -- well, Dana Carvey and Jon Lovitz doing whatever they want together is fun-ny.

    I think the tweet question "Spend time in a mental facility or jump off a building?" is a reference to Jon Lovitz two guest appearances on Newsradio (before he was a regular in season 5) where he was in a mental house with Bill and when he was a disgruntled employee of Jimmy James Inc, and threatened to jump off the building.

    Jewish people make the best doctors they are intended to be blessings to the world all of them this is why they are so gifted. 26:08 - check this story out he remembers he was 5 years old and he has an adult conversation with his dad.... Jewish parents most all of them teach there kids to be adults from a young age and to think for themselves and to ponder and ask questions most other parents would have been like "why aren't you in bed go back to sleep or don't worry about it or we'll talk about it later etc. " 27:15 !!! look how they teach there kids .... "Find something you love doing so that you can't wait to get there." Most parents .. don't teach there kids this.

    • @snakeguy76
      @snakeguy76 10 років тому +3

      Its been three months so maybe you have your answer. Mugging is when an actor goes out their way to get noticed in the scene. So Lovitz was talking about actors who try to steal a scene by being bigger than their character is suppose to be.. I was in a play where a critic described my performance as "controlled mugging" I think that was meant as a compliment.
