I've been taking dutasteride for 14 months and I'm still losing ground. I've also been taking oral minoxidil at 5 mg during the same time frame. So does that mean my body is simply making too much DHT and is overpowering Dut?
Dutasteride combined with oral Minoxidil is the gold standard to stop hair loss. How many milligrams of DUT are you taking, and how often? The max dose is 2.5mg per day. At that dosage, 90+% of serum DHT is inhibited... It would be very unlikely that you would still lose ground at that point. If however, you are EXTREMELY sensitive to DHT or even Testosterone alone, you may also need a topical antiandrogen, like ALFATRADIOL. In that setting, you will have done everything you possibly can to at least halt your hair loss.
@@skepticthegreat979 I only take .5mg so might need to consider going up to 2.5mg. But I know that Dut (and Fin) can increase testosterone so could be counter-productive. Regarding a topical antiandrogen, I'm not familar with alfatradiol but I will look into it. Does that have more research and better outcomes than Pyrallutamide and/or RU?
@@skepticthegreat979 .5/day but might need more. I've been interested in topical antiandrogens such as Pyrl or Dut but since not sold in US, haven't taken that step. Isn't Afatradiol a 5 alpha reductase inhibitor?
@@skepticthegreat979 I am 18 and I have 3 or 4 hair folicals in my hand when I pull, is only minoxodil enough for me? My doctor says I have genetic hair loss
