Thank you for your precise and understandable tutorials. I also have a widow and need a hobby that I could make a little extra spending money. I’ve been baking Christmas balls for years but now with your help, I could perfect them. I’m going to a retirement home with a store I can sell OUR beautiful ornaments. Again THANK YOU THERESA aka Meme
Beautiful! I have found that I like to iron my bands before pinning them on so the folded edges are nice and flat. It is fun to use decorative ribbon too. Great tutorial AS USUAL! You do a wonderful job of explaining and demonstrating each step. Thanks so much!
I've seen these star item for many years but cringed to think about how hard they must be to make. So now you've changed my life with your charm and grace and now I can approach this art form with a can do attitude. Thank you !!!
Great tutorial. Very easy to follow along... my only suggestion, which most of you probably already knew, is have your craft THIMBLE handy. My foam was fairly firm and after the first 50 pins my poor finger was tender. I grabbed by craft thimble and finished in much more comfort lol.
Thank you so much for your precise and easy to follow tutorials. I have been making these for quite a while but with your tutorials it's was a game changer! I can now make these in less the time it took me in the beginning. Keep up the good work.
Many years ago, I made ornaments like this, but with a cross stitched center for the picture on each side - I don't recall how I got them centered, but it seems that I had way more problems matching up the sides like you do - I am so glad to have watched this video, it makes it so much easier now to make new ornaments. Thank you for taking the time to show how to do this.
OH my , this is lovely !! I have been wanting to make one of these and you are awesome !! Very simple explanation. I clicked to get the directions. Not sure they have come yet !! Thank you :)
Thank you so much I so love doing these and My grand daughters are doing them with me .I wish i had found your channel a long time ago. I cannot wait for the next technique.
Hi Staci Ann, I enjoyed your video and I'm so glad you are on UA-cam. I am a member of your club and have enjoyed every minute and so glad I have joined. I also just received my order today from the OG Market, love it, love it, everything was packaged so neatly that I opened everything real carefully even though I was so excited!! Thank you so much for sharing your talent and creativity. Happy Sweet Sixteen birthday to your beautiful daughter and wish her many many more birthdays to come, Can't wait for my "apple" ornament, God bless, Michelle Clare
The way I find the center of the back is set the ball face down, and the weight balances it flY and makes the center easier to find for the second half center!
I just found your channel and your ornaments are absolutely stunning! You explain everything so clearly, and although I have made these, I must try your method for sure!!! Take care! ❤️
I made my first one today, for my first ornament, not bad, but dosen't look as polished as yours but its my first one. A few things that I learned. I had no idea the prep work it takes. A lot of cutting, but your website was out of kits. Also spend a little more and get good sharp scissors. Get a thimble, I'm mean my fingers were sore after I made one. Be prepared, this is fun, but probably more so if I had a kit, now I'll never look at fabric the same way. Cant wait to do another. I cant wait till your clubs opens up, I hope the Christmas one opens up soon.
If i were to do the 4 inch balls instead of the 3 inch, what measurements would i need for the rectangles and the piece that covers all around? Thank you, and i love your tutorials!
All of our patterns are designed for 3" balls and we don't have an exact formula for increasing the size but it can totally be done! I would recommend starting by adding 1/2" to your fabric measurements. You will also have to experiment with the placement of the layers of your fabric to get the look you want.
Just a thought. Once the 4 straight pins are in place to prep for opposite centerpiece you could always lightly draw a line from side to side and top to bottom and this way you could get a true center point. Have a great day
All of the raw edges get hidden so your ornament will not fray or fall apart. They tend to be light enough that the hanger pin won't fall out, but if you're worried about it, you can also add a small drop of glue to that pin to hold it in place.
Thank you for posting such a lovely tutorial. May I suggest that you place the pins in the fold of the fabric (at the point) as you turn it over towards you? That way the pin will always be hidden.
I am so very sorry to hear that! This fabric is pretty old, this ornament was made way back in 2016. Sometimes you can find out of print fabric on Etsy or eBay, the fabric is Moda-Forest-Frost-Glitter-33093-13M. I hope you can find something that will work for your ornament.
LOVE LOVE ALL YOUR VIDEOS. QUESTION!! AFTER YOU CENTER THE IMAGE (I'M USING A CROSS STITCH ALPHABET LETTER FOR EACH OF MY GRANDDAUGHTERS) HOW FAR DOWN FROM THE CENTER OF THE IMAGE DO YOU SRART THE FIRST LAYER. LOOKS APPROX 1.5". IS THAT GUESS CLOSE?
To finish sentence construction. Where there are little bubbles at the bottom, could you do a little slit? Then overlap the pieces so that they lay flat under the next triangle
I am interested in doing our logo in the center. I was thingking of getting a patch made. Is that a parche that you used for the Marines ornament? Is it an iron on? What size?
It was printed on fabric but you could definitely use a patch. I try to keep the image itself at 2" or less for a 3" ornament. Just be sure you have excess room around your logo to be able to pin and hide.
Would you please tell me where to find your kits to make this ornament please? I loved your version...very nice. Thank you for sharing but I would like all my fabric coordinated for me...that way I know it will look nice.
We do have some folds that make other shapes, it will depend on the look you want. If you would like to see some of our other patterns, you can find them here: theornamentgirl.com/market/product-category/patterns/
Hi Sally... I'm all sold out of this one, sorry! Sometimes you can find the Hope fabric pop up on eBay or other places online. It's by Longaberger. The others are basics by Timeless Treasures. I hope that helps you re-create it.
Oh man! It sounds like you bought 'SmoothFoam' brand... they are very hard! The ones I use are much softer (I just can't do it with the SmoothFoam brand! haha)

Es un trabajo precioso.💯💯💯💯💯💯

@@TheOrnamentGirl That's what I'll try. Thank you for your response 😊
In making these beautiful ornaments can you use fabric adhesive glue instead of pins???❤😊
We have never experimented with using glue, so I'm not exactly sure, but I will tell you the pins do make it very secure.
I have a suggestion for keeping your projects on screen. Draw a square on your table or mat, and keep it in the center. Happy crafting!
Thank you for showing me how to do the ornament. I can't wait to get started once I've got my supplies. Merry Christmas.

Just a thought. Once the 4 straight pins are in place to prep for opposite centerpiece you could always lightly draw a line from side to side and top to bottom and this way you could get a true center point. Have a great day
Do you do anything to prep the fabric? What keeps the fabric from raveling? How does the hanger pin not pull out when the ornament is hung?
All of the raw edges get hidden so your ornament will not fray or fall apart. They tend to be light enough that the hanger pin won't fall out, but if you're worried about it, you can also add a small drop of glue to that pin to hold it in place.
Another awesome ball. Thank you for all you do. I am really enjoying making these.
Omg I have been looking for you!! How is the Rudolph village coming? Hugssss
Thank you for posting such a lovely tutorial. May I suggest that you place the pins in the fold of the fabric (at the point) as you turn it over towards you? That way the pin will always be hidden.
Can you please share the ornament pattern for the USMC(Marines) ornament you show at start of this video? ❤
That ornament is made with this exact same pattern! You can add any embellishments you like to make it yours.
These are so gorgeous!! So the pins never fall out?
Theresa Nope! 😊
@@TheOrnamentGirl that’s exactly what I was thinking.
Wondering
Hi, I would really like to know where I could get the fabric for the Cardinals. My dad past away a year ago and would love to make this ornament.

I love those, but a few kits last year and I want to try to make them this year.... do you ever iron the material in a triangle?
To finish sentence construction. Where there are little bubbles at the bottom, could you do a little slit? Then overlap the pieces so that they lay flat under the next triangle
If you print photos onto fabric... do you need to seal them? If so what is best to use?
Very good question! I want to try using printable iron on's
Genial👍👍👍
I am interested in doing our logo in the center. I was thingking of getting a patch made. Is that a parche that you used for the Marines ornament? Is it an iron on? What size?
It was printed on fabric but you could definitely use a patch. I try to keep the image itself at 2" or less for a 3" ornament. Just be sure you have excess room around your logo to be able to pin and hide.
What could I use to help me hold onto the project?
I sometimes use the lid to a candle, or a roll of washi tape. Any small cylinder will work great as a stand while you work.
You make it look easy. Lol
Thanks
Can I use a 3 1/2" ball?
Yes! You may need to adjust your spacing, but it will work great!
What size are the rectangles please, what a lovely project 🌸
The rectangles are 2x3".
Where do you get your materials from?
How do we purchase the kits? Those are lovely.
Would you please tell me where to find your kits to make this ornament please? I loved your version...very nice. Thank you for sharing but I would like all my fabric coordinated for me...that way I know it will look nice.
I got one of these kits from you.
Hello how are you doing?
Would love to make this ornament. Where do I get the fabric you're using?
Nancy, unfortunately the Hope fabric is out of print, but you can sometimes find it on eBay. It's by Longaberger and called 'Horizon of Hope'.
What size are your needles, the length of the needles? Please
Since these are not sew but pinned in, do you ever find that they come undone easily or not really?

Where are your little bubble is at the bottom, could you do a little slit and then overlap the pieces so they lie flat?
does this one have a kit
Hi Sally... I'm all sold out of this one, sorry! Sometimes you can find the Hope fabric pop up on eBay or other places online. It's by Longaberger. The others are basics by Timeless Treasures. I hope that helps you re-create it.
Can you tell me the font you used to embroider your daughter's name?
This was the first one I did and did not know that it was a Snow Ball
I wonder if this would work on an egg shape...
If your center isn’t a square design how do you do this
You can do this with any design. Here's another video showing how to do it with an image that isn't square: ua-cam.com/video/6cfuF_cpeKE/v-deo.html
I know you told us what type of a ball you use but the ones I bought are so hard that I feel like the pin is going to go through my thumb. Lol 🥴.
Oh man! It sounds like you bought 'SmoothFoam' brand... they are very hard! The ones I use are much softer (I just can't do it with the SmoothFoam brand! haha)
You r soooo right! You need a hammer to pound them in or risk a hole in your fingers! If you find any, please let me know
