Sure, I've cut dados ("dadoes"?) by swiping the blade a zillion times. But I'm a radial arm snob, and I mount a dado set when I know I don't have the patience to snip kerf cuts. I am an ignoramus on miter saws. Can one mount a dado set on a miter saw?
I cut most of my dados with dado blades on table saw. Just wanted to give guys another option based on what tools they may have. As far as your question, I really don't know if you can. I don't think so though
ignorant thought from inexperienced woodworker. what if you built up a cross piece behind the fence so that the motor housing can only go so far down? use a 4x4 and put some adjustable threaded feetsies under the corners of the 2x4 so you can make very fine adjustments for the poifect blade height?
