Super informative, easy to understand and best of all, STRAIGHT to the POINT! A lot of us have 40+ hr/wk jobs and do home projects on evenings & weekends, which means very little spare time, so discovering a UA-camr who is able to cover several critical points quickly and eloquently is an incredible gift! Thank you!
I am totally clueless with DIY and power tools. I have just bought my first mitre saw, and this video has given me a great head start on how to actually use it. It's straight and to the point. Thank you!
Excellent! Great tip at 4:30 relief cut on stop block so saw dust does not affect the cut accuracy. 7:30 great tip on shaving so can sneak up on the perfect cut.
Do you like my "Parallel Guided Power Saw?" seen on you tube. Do you wish to join me to manufacture it. On the video you may see some pyramids I cut with my saw, which cannot be easily cut with another saw. The manufacturing company does not want my saw, so we have to start our company to make it.
Fantastic. As someone who’s about to buy their first mitre saw, this is gold. You may have saved me from hurting myself, you’ve definitely saved me from making scrap wood. Also, style of video is fantastic, straight to the point, no messing
New subscriber here. Just bought my first mitre saw for jobs around the house (age 62). These tips were very helpful and I’ll feel more confident making my first cut today with my new machine.
thank you! I'm new to the hobby and got my first miter saw. I respect the awesome power, but haven't been around power tools like this before. So i'm a little nervous. But i figure as long as i keep my fingers away from the blade, should be good.
Everything I could possibly say has already been stated. I'm a total new-be, and your instructions, and delivery, are A+ across the board. Thank you for teaching me! New subscriber now btw
Same here, two years later (2023). I've used them plenty of times for very simple straight cuts. Just never owned one or set one up. I'm grateful for all of the safety and practical tips I was aware of.
May I ask guys is this only for short side cuts? Or you also can cut long pieces in long cuts pushing wood in blade cut in middle line of one meter cut. thanks.
Love the mobile cart and folding wings. I’ve been planning to do something like that for a while, but wasn’t sure what I needed . . . now I know, cheers!
He's even calling it by the right name. Miter saw. I read posts where people talk about their "Chop Saw" and it really bugs me. I live in WA state and I don't recall the word "Chop Saw" ever being used in woodworking at all, by anyone, until the last 10 years or so where the internet seemed to make the word synonymous with miter saws.
Man am I glad I saw this (and rewound it frequently during the video). Just bought one of these and only watched a couple of reviews and went to work! Fortunately, the small piece of wood that I was trying to cut, while pushing it with a slightly longer piece, missed me as it was propelled from the saw (and slightly damaged the plastic at the slot)! Something told me to watch a few more videos today before moving on to the next project, and as stated before, I’m glad I came across this one! Thanks for sharing!
So helpful thank you!! Made my island countertop and I'm adding the Ideal Edge which will need to be mitered. UA-camrs like yourself have made this project 100% successful and saved me a ton of money :)
Excellent video. Thank you very much on safe work practices and proper use of Miter saw. Injuries with a power saw can be very serious. We all need to pay attention to safety.
Thank you! I'm subscribing 👍 it's been a while since I had a workshop and I need to get a lot of projects done while we finish building our home ...it's great to be reminded of all the safety tips plus so much more
As many others have said there is a lot of time and love for someone who cuts (yeah I made a pun, so what :D) right to the chase, no long awkward intro or begging for likes or subscriptions within the first 20 seconds before we've had a chance to see if it's worthy of those golden clicks and as someone who has just brought his first Miter saw I found this very helpful!
Immediately subscribed after watching this video! Great tips and well presented. Just borrowed my creative neighbor's miter saw to redo my deck with composite boards. So glad I watched this video first!
Thank you very much for taking the time to make this video. My wife just got me a 7 1/4 Kobalt single bevel miter saw for Christmas, and I'm not much of a wood worker. Just something for small projects around the house.
Thank you for so many tips! Recently bought a compound sliding miter saw. A friend who is comfortable using a miter saw came over to get me started on ceiling, floor, and door trim work last week. More to come and your extra tips are appreciated.
I just found your UA-cam channel. Thank you for a great video. I just received a new miter saw, so your videos are very useful. One tip to add to your Safety pointers -- Seriously consider wearing a high-quality dust mask while sawing, as breathing the very fine wood dust in the air can be very bad for your lungs, especially if you do a lot of saw work. Years of using your saw without wearing a dust mask can add up to extremely serious permanent health issues.
Instead of using the pencil & eraser use a 12" or longer 1 by board to lay on the one edge and flat on the table. You will be able to hold it firmer and safer in-place and your hand will not be so close to the blade if for some reason the pencil or the project piece should move. Enjoyed the tips! Thank You and keep up the good work with these informative videos. Sometimes it is good for the seasoned woodworker as well as the new ones to go over and be reminded of safety procedures. Blessings my friend!
10:45 now that i think of it, you could probably make a simple handle that had a flat wood on the bottom and 2 squares on each end and use that to hold it down
I just bought the 10'' double-bevel Evolution mitre saw like yours last week... I LOVE it...very clean cuts & the preset angles seem to be bang on... first little test piece I made was an octagon using 8 pieces of 2" X 1" laid flat & glued 'em up... no gaps in the adjoining pieces whatsoever... A great saw for a fraction of the cost of the better known brands... From the Emerald Isle 😎👍☘🍺
I love your energy and enthusiasm! What a great video with a lot of great info but it didn’t feel like too much at all. Best wishes and keep up the good work!

I think you are referring to rip cuts. You won't be able to do a rip cut on a miter saw. @@georgiosladas3106
