- It's finally go-time! That means it's time to throw down some prodiamine. In order to do that, I need to calculate my rate, and start spraying.

Don't forget the safety glasses. You don't want the stuff on your eyes.
Thank you, best explanation on UA-cam!!!
Great video on mixing Prodiamine! Thank you!
Love your simple explanation! Thank you!
Great job. I just got my FlowZone Tornado IV and I love it for the price. Can’t wait to enjoy the many uses of it.
Is it necessary to recalibrate when changing spray heads ? Is a surfactant needed when applying prodiamine ?
Nice lawn cocktail! 🍹
I measured on my scale but it shows ounces. In the directions when it talked about ounces, is that weight or volume?
Great video sir! I have yet to step up to prodiamine, maybe next year I’ll be a big boy and step up my game!
I was nervous but it was easy. I think next year I'll be trying granular prodiamine or dithiopyr from Yardmastery
2nd st. Nice work. Got “mysoil” test back. Once I sow the seed... it’s on. N and micros were low. Time to throw’er down!!
🏆
great tips, thanks for sharing. Did you get a special nozzle for your sprayer? tks, Mark
Need be mixing or stirring your tank when you add the Bio's..
Good info... Thank You!
Now how do you wash all that stuff out afterwards? 🤔
Just a hose
@@DRK_BBQ - Are the Prodiamine remnants an issue for the driveway or grass where you rinse it off? If you do it in the sink is it an issue for the sewer system or septic? I'm always a bit concerned about that kind of stuff.
I have an area of my property that is pure dirt and grass clippings that I dump that extra in. It's so diluted with water I'm not worried about it
Did it end up raining? When I did my Prodiamine app it was supposed to rain but didn't. I just watered it in the next morning.
It did rain, I wasn't too worried about it anyway
Was this a split app? Or did you just do this once in the spring? 3 months of coverage right?
I had intended it as a split app since typically I get tons of spring rain but that spring was pretty dry and this single app did the job. This spring may be a different story
So 1 table spoon per gallon if im doing 1000 sq ft at a time?
For 1000 sq ft you need 0.18oz for 3 month coverage or 0.42oz for 6 months coverage. Converted to grams and then tsp/tbsp you'd need roughly 1 teaspoon per 1000 sq ft for 3 months or roughly 2.5 teaspoons per 1000 sq ft for 6 months
What did you use to scoop the Prodiamine into the tuna can, was it a Tsp or a Tbsp measuring spoon or just a scooper?
I just had an old tablespoon scoop
Lazy Lawns... so roughly 1Tbsp per 1,000 sq ft. I also liked to big boot tip.
@@DRK_BBQ in one answer to a question you said you used a teaspoon and in this one a tablespoon. One is 3 times the amount of the other. Can you please clarify which it was?
Mine finally got watered in. By slow release H2O....
Yeah the weather sure hasn't been kind this week :(
@@DRK_BBQ Nope. 50's this weekend. Looking forward to that!
60s for us! Can't wait!
@@DRK_BBQ Awesome!!
SAFETY FIRST! Please wear gloves when handling this or any chemical products. Thanks for sharing!
How many months of coverage will 21grams per 4000 get you?
It depends on several factors like how much it rains (or how much you irrigate), how hot it gets, how much direct sunlight it gets, etc. All of these factors will degrade the barrier more quickly. Most estimations put this rate at 3-4 months of coverage. Since I had a dry spring when I did this application I ended up getting 5-6 months coverage
@@DRK_BBQ cool, I’m looking for about 5 months of coverage and you’ve simplified the measurements for me! I have 64,000sq ft to spray
Yikes! Is that your lawn or are you hooking up some friends?
@@DRK_BBQ it’s mine I have 6 acres, 3 of it’s a horse pasture. I just want to do the 3 acres we use and others see.I just bought a battery powered sprayer, the prodiamine and some marker dye. I did use granular but it’s breaking the bank so I have to try liquid but it scares me to death. We have tall fescue with ryegrass and lots of crabgrass! Thanks for the guidance you have great content and give lots of helpful information.
Why go to all the trouble to protect your feet and hands if your not even going to protect your lungs. If you can spell it you are getting it into your body. Skin protection yes is very important, probably equally or more important is protecting your lungs. It's unfortunate, but I see it all the time people spraying without masks, something to consider while your spraying. While you're spraying it your body is immersed in the chemical while you're breathing, which maybe just as detrimental to your health. Just consider what those chemicals are doing to your lawn, nitrogen is always very bad for your lungs, just because it is organic or whatever doesn't mean it's okay for your body.

Dang that was fast!
