Surly this marks the start of horror reactions.. The budget for the first movie was $35k and made less than 1Mil. The seconds budget was 250k raised by fans and made over 15mil. The 3rd movie had a whopping 2mil budget and has already made 28 mil,
for context, a movie with a 500 million budget would have to make 7 billion dollars to get the success that terrifier 3 has made in just this short amount of time.
These movies are actual shit though. Everyone is watching them now because other people are all of a sudden. It's not actual popularity. It's group interest, not self-interest.

It also means that it is unrated, as it wasn't subjected to the MPA, America's film ratings board. It didn't even received a wide theatrical release, but its uncompromising and unapologetic gruesomeness and gore has garnered Terrifier a cult following that has since grown into a film series and has turned Art the Clown into horror's newest icon. If the Terrifier movies were studio-made, there's absolutely no way that they'd be able to feature the intensely brutal gore that has become the series' signature.
Of all the horror movies to watch, i didnt think this would be on the list. Its as gruesome as Saw but ig its not as jump scare heavy. You could always watch the kid horror like Corpse Bride, Nightmare Before Christmas, or Paranorman.

In case no one said it yet and you couldn't tell by watching, when you watch with subtitles they make what Art was doing to Tara's sister in the end much more clear. It says something like "crunching" or "munching", and when you focus solely on Art you can see him bringing up pieces of Vicky's face to his mouth and eating them. So to answer your question at the start of the movie the victim's face was destroyed because Art was eating it until cops arrived, and the poor girl took a year to physically recover.

And from a HUGE horror movie fan, some of us like these types of movies from a special effects/ practical effects standpoint lol After watching the show Syfy show Face Off I wanted to be a special effects makeup artist. Watching horror films literally helped me when I started working at a Veterinary Hospital too because when I had to assist with surgeries I was used to seeing this type of stuff. We got some horrible stuff in the Hospital sometimes and I had a few moments where I had to pretend I was just watching a horror film so I didn't get sick...
I’d like to point out that the director of these movies is a special effects artist. That’s why we can enjoy these creative deaths without cgi, even if it’s a lil cheesy and over the top, so if you watch the other 2 movie then enjoy! (:
