Agree with it all! Thanks for the review! By the time the Gongaga region theme music kicked in, I might aswell have yeeted myself into the lifestream, I was so happy 😊 beat game ever!!
Yes it IS Game of the Year! 1000%! Well, in my eyes, of course. Even if FFVII Rebirth lost to a little childrens' game {Astro Bot}, FFVII Rebirth will ALWAYS remain GOTY in my eyes! I voted for it, so I'm happy that it won Best Sound and Music, only one award, though, but I don't care. I was crying like a baby when they announced that FFVII Rebirth won! I've NEVER voted for ANY game at ANY Game of the Year event, but when FFVII Rebirth was competing this year, I could NOT resist! I even voted for Tekken 8 to win, so I'm very happy that both of my games won their awards! FFVII Rebirth and Tekken 8 were the only games I cared about winning and they both came through for me in a HUGE way!
I had a similar experience, my first game awards vote as well. I would have been nice for the developers to have gotten that award but it’s the GOTY in our hearts! Thanks for watching!
Nah it was a skip for me once I got to cosmo canyon, felt like I was playing any generic open world game such a shame I will need to finish it at one point but been too busy enjoying ff7 new threat and ff9 alternate fantasy
Cosmo canyon specifically was a low point for me too story and in gameplay. I say it in a bit of a round about way but I really hope the third part of the trilogy will learn the best way to balance the open world aspect. The post midgar act of the OG was never my favorite and I definitely am not a fan of this style of open world but going purely off of developer intentions this seems like a grand slam. Enough titles like these and maybe we’ll be able to see a square that is able to experiment a little more with its games and what it means to be an rpg instead of shooting for these mass appeal triple A products. Appreciate the comment 👍🏻

Thank you so much! All the region themes slapped but that Gongaga one hits it’s something else 🥰

This is the correct answer. Thanks for the review. Rebirth is far and away the game of the year
Such a great year for rpg’s and so happy to see final fantasy killing it lately! Thanks for watching!
