im not a chef but i think you should not stack them after putting the cream the layer then will be heavier and softer!!

Baked this yesterday and my issue is with the fudge icing. Maybe its the vegan butter that i used isnt right. My icing is separating and looks grainy.. i used the trader joe's vegan butter.
Gretchen which brand of butter do you use ??
I prefer to use earth balance, but lately I’ve been using a vegan butter called gold ‘n’ sweet. My friend has a café locally and I am able to order ingredients from her from time to time so this is not some thing he would find in the store, but at any rate, some other people have complained about that as well. I’ve recently adjusted the recipe to omit the coconut oil which I think has been a problem for the separation? Did you add this or have you gotten the updated recipe?
