Hey Cameron! It's Cory. This video turned out great. Definitely want an exhaust after hearing your Type R. If anyone has any questions about my 11th Gen SI let me know! Thanks, Cameron.
Beautiful car, Cory. I have a SGP hatch myself. Resonator removed, just like you suggested. Sounds perfect. I guess my only question is: Would you pay the premium for the new Type R? Or are you content with the Si? (I do not track, so I'm leaning Si after this review)
@@roger3958 I could not afford the new Type R, even without a dealer markup, so no, I would not pay it. I am content with my SI. However, I used to drive a 2011 WRX that had a tune, bolt-ons, and exhaust. I was spoiled in the horsepower department, untamed nature, and noises from the exhaust from my WRX compared to my Civic Si. That's the only thing I feel is missing from my new Civic. I would test drive the 11th gen SI first, then maybe a Type R if you can. You may think the differences are worth paying the extra money. But I just couldn't personally justify paying $40k+ for a Civic Type R.
Is it true you have a lifetime warranty?
Did you buy extended warranty or the dealership is offering you the lifetime warranty for free?
@@thisisntsergio1352 I'm going to have to check with my dealership, but the guy who sold me the car said I had one. I think it covers "The Honda Lifetime Warranty covers your vehicle's engine, transmission, and drivetrain system as well as its many different components, such as the differential, axles, and driveshaft." I paid a markup so that way be why I got a lifetime warranty.
Thank you for admiring the car for what it is rather than being judgemental for what it's not. Like the overall positivity!
Always nice to see the younger gen excited about cars....never gets old!
Honda always manages to create the PERFECT Civic in the Si. This one carries on that tradition and my absolute favorite detail of the 11th gen is definitely the look of the dual exhaust. It’s so 🔥
lol my local papa john's guy has a black Si. Dude is always out there in the parking lot wiping it down after a light rain. respect.
I work at papa johns and got a grey one 😂
My brother and I booked an appointment at a dealership where i got my FK8 to test drive the 2022 SI when it first came out. Definitely very roomy and it feels like a very family friendly sports car. Im sure with the correct mods it’ll be an awesome sports car.
Dope video as usual. 11th gen Si owner here and I have to say you are part of the inspiration for me starting my own UA-cam channel man!
Just traded in my ‘21 civic sport sedan for a ‘22 Si last week. Never touched a manual car ever before and im learning pretty quickly but still have a lot things to learn. Definitely a good upgrade forsure.
Pretty much identical to mine. He's not wrong about the stock exhaust, it sounds really good and has some nice burbles on the over-run. I like that shift knob. I might have to try one.
Two Step Performance tune really brought my 11th gen si to life!
I want to do the same and i was wondering if the fuel economy takes a hit??
@@cheesuskrust8354 I still get like 32 mpg I’d say it doesn’t really take a hit.
@@Nixxxonn 🙏🏻👌
If you are looking for the loudest catback and won’t be modifying the DP, highly recommend Remark!
Let's get it Cam, new you'd come around just like me 🤣. Great vid man!
Awesome video man . I got a 2023 Pearl white si .
The black capped mirrors and getting rid of the piano black window trim was massive improvements
I’ve owned my 11th gen SI since April , I hit 7k miles Sunday ! , I have a KTUNNER, I’m running at 23psi , PRL intercooler , PRL stage 1 intake , currently waiting for charge pipes and full high volume intake to be here , next should be flex fuel kit/tune and as soon as PRL comes out with the titanium inlet pipe it’s a must 🤙🏻 car feels great so far , super smooth and I love the rev match! , have had the car up to 153mph
Osoik proved these motors to be weaker than 10th gens and 10th gens are known to blow..tread lightly
@@Candybuiltsi he also raped his motor for 20k miles before it blew. I think the average person with afew bolt ons will be ok
How much money you spend already in mod ??
@@Candybuiltsihad nothing to do with his trash tune lol
@@c.g.4195 right now I have
HVI Intake , Intercooler , charge pipes , KTUNNER, stage 2 clutch , Downpipe and front pipe , stage 2 tune 25psi , as far as like power mods I have invested around 5-6k$ and I have a big brake kit , carbon fiber fenders , carbon fiber tips , whole yofer body kit , suspension and other stuff , I’m probably about 8-9k$ deep into my car
22 si is my first manual, i get the lurch from 1-2 if i try to shift quicker. the best way i found to not get get it is to shift after 3k rpm and wait for the shfiter to go in on its own then let the clutch out.
You guys looked related nest 2 each other in car lol
They kinda have the same vibe to on how they talk and act haha
Starting to see more of these 11th Gen Cars on the Road. Great Content 🇺🇸👍.
The burbles in the car are very nice I drive one and I often hear it
While I can appreciate wanting to install an aftermarket exhaust on the car the 11th Gen SI doesn't really need one. They've got a very nice exhaust note from the factory.
Ultimately, it's Mr. or Mrs. Car Owners decision to modify or install an exhaust but IMO the factory exhaust of the 11th Gen Civic SI sounds great
always a greaat day when Cam uploads!
I own a 2022 Civic Si (since July 2022) and this is the best review I have seen so far about this car! I’m definitely going to change my OEM shifter for the Acuity one, for the reasons you mentioned! 💪🏼
11th gen is growing on me, but I could not justify it as an upgrade over the 10th due to Honda taking away heated seats, fog lights, shift lights, full digital center gauge cluster, temperature gauge, and adaptive dampers...they stripped it too much to give to the integra
They took heated seats out twice? Damn.
@@RICARD01 😂
Mine has all of that except the adaptive dampers in Canada
@@Cross_93 mine has all that plus adaptive dampers in America
Car has shift lights my man
It's hilarious how enthusiasts of any vehicle absolutely hate it when a new one is released, but then go on to love it.
Love the new 11th gen! We should do a meetup! I have the PRL downpipe, frontpipe, and intake and the pops that come out of this car are amazing! I'm in the Broward area.
Bro…looks like you made a new friend for life 💪
Very very cool how you met him an hour before shooting and he was awesome enough to let you video his Si. (In my opinion..the best Civic form) and also let you drive it! Too cool man 👊
ya No lol
Cam - Dawg, your face is soo funny while driving. You both just having a normal conversation when I know your literal visual perspective is a giant go pro between your nose and eyes, LMAO. too funny! I bet he thought about laughing
Its what I have to do for the POV! Speaking of that, I need a new GoPro. This one was freaking out when the sun was in our faces
@@Camhill182 fasho! Touche, definitely time then.
The Bose sound system is ok but the ELS sound system on the new Integra is amazing! 15 speakers and a sub
Each model has its color. I like Black and Red on the previous. Maybe the grey on this one, it feels like a car for Robocop, I like it :D
As another 11th gen owner, the 1st-2nd lurch is SO REAL. I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT ELSE TO DO😭
About a year late to the party but nice to see you showed. I see you weren't afraid to talk to the cute little Si standing in the corner getting no attention and it's making the FL5 dancing in the spotlight a little jealous. Don't be afraid to come over and say hello to her too.
7:30 I just freaking lost it, I didn’t expect that at all 😂😂😂 lmfaoooo, gotta do what you gotta do
Very nice shots dude!
GREAT VID CAM! I have the same car same color and absolutely love it. I also bought a 2023 GR86 base in the same week : ) Love that too, but man the SI is just so much easier to drive as a daily and the tech is awesome.
-Mods: Hondata (bitchin network of knowledge, and can delete auto stop), 27won downpipe, PRL intercooler. All outstanding parts from solid companies. black emblems look sik : )
-put the rev match back on, that helps with smooth up and down shifts-it`s damn good. I haven`t driven w/o rev match, I just know it`s done damn well. 1-2 shifts can be tricky (GR86 is bad unless you understanding the trans gearing). Getting to know your car and getting down 1-2 shifts are key, if what you are trying isn`t working-review and try something different: shift rpm, actual speed you move shifter, how fast/slow you engage clutch-and a combination of those 3.
-I think the SI handles better that base GR86, really. I have taken 90 degree corners doing 33mph with zero tire noise, Az has a couple descent rodes.
GOOD LUCK WITH THE SI CORY!
black emblems look
All I would do is headers and a high flow downpipe. That alone will give the exhaust just a little more sound coming out of the pipes but a nice bit of sound in the cabin without being too loud and droney.
The lifetime powertrain warranty is a new gimmick dealerships are doing. The fine print says you have to have it serviced at that dealership for everything. No DIY oil changes. They do not tell you that when you buy the car.
If you haven't seen it yet ... stock for stock .... 10th Gen type r is faster than 11th gen type r in quarter mile
Named my son Cameron, great name man. I’m in the market for one is these si’s. The dealers in the north east are all still asking thousands over msrp. Probably gonna wait till the market crashes in a few months.
I test drive one about a month ago it's a very cool car. Not too many complaints, but personally the interior was too small for me I'm about 6'1 and I felt a little squeezed in there versus my 10gen. Could've been the seats. The transmission was amazing in the car and super smooth.
I guess thats a good thing about me being 5'10" - I can fit comfortably in anything
im 6'3 and i fit fine in the drivers seat. Theres no way 6'1 is to big
Lifetime warranty. That dealership really lied to him just to sell him a car lol. That’s terrible
I mean, if he paid for a lifetime powertrain warranty, doesn't that mean he has it? I've heard of other people who have purchased that, so it doesn't seem too far out of reach
@@Camhill182 lifetime powertrain warranty is from the factory only covers engine and transmission that’s it nothing more, sad thing is if the clutch fail that’s not covered under the warranty bcuz it’s considered a wear and tear parts, my girl 10th gen si clutch slips when wot it’s all stock and Honda won’t cover it only has 45k miles
The lifetime warranty was probably sold by the dealership so that he has to do all his service at that dealership. It’s the dealerships way of ensuring they make money from the servicing of the vehicle while knowing the statistics of most cars are sold within 3-5 years of ownership and they’ll never have to actually cover it. It’s a lot more common with dealerships than it used to be.
I have a lifetime warranty (unlimited miles/years as long as I'm the owner). It covers full drivetrain. I paid nothing for it. They offer it with any new Honda. Only Honda dealer near me that offers that. And the deductible is only $100 and repairs are done by Honda
“Buy a Toyota or Honda.. thats your warranty!
~Scotty Kilmer~
I still dig the 10th gen "Gundam" look. Call me a nerd.
You may have seen it already, but there is a youtube vid comparing the fk8 to fl5. The fk8 beat it twice on a roll race. Both were stock, and they switched drivers to make sure
I did see that. Made me very happy lol
I have a 2022 si since February. I love the car. Mine is mechanically stock but have a good amount of visuals.
As an owner of an FBO 11th gen Si, it is not worth it to put money. Save that money and get the new Type R 🫶🏽😊
I drove the new Si and here are my thoughts as a former 8th gen owner.
The good: Best looking Si inside and out in my opinion. Ride quality is a perfect balance between sport and comfort.
The bad: power is meh, engine sound is not Si worthy, and the loss of adaptive dampers, heated seats with a massive price hike is terrible.
8th gen owner looking to replace. I dunno. I just don’t get excited for these 1.5 turbos. Tbh, even the type r just doesn’t have that thrill factor. Looking for an s2000 instead.
@@ka124as You can’t go wrong with an s2k!
The Type R FL5 is king, but the SI is such incredible value for a very nice car. Cheers.
I saw a new white 11th gen type r the other day. Looked pretty good, rear really looks like a mini stinger.
I have yet to see one of these on the road.
Maybe a tuned 11th gen Si is the play here, since it costs about half as much as a CTR!
I used to say the same way when the 11th gens came out. Didnt like it at first but seeing them in person, Holyyyyy they look so clean haha would love to drive one too! Great video man! 🔥🔥
Bro keep the videos rolling!
Been waiting for this video
Definitely a fun lil car. I like Ososik Media for his build copped me a black 23’ last Friday.
@cameron hill Not gonna lie I would love more car reviews from you. Something nice about the way you do these that's not overly dramatic and full of technicals.
I'll do more. I always enjoy reviewing cars even though I don't have the production value that the dedicated review channels do. Its just fun to drive other cars and get more perspective
@@Camhill182 Yea that's what we like about your reviews, you seem like you're having fun and its very personable.
I’m looking to get an 11th gen Si as my first manual they look so nice 👍🏽
Love your vids cam
Thank you
Nice video Cameron! I have an FE1 in white and it is the best daily driver ever. Also have 2019 FK8 used primarily for autocross.
wish honda offered this Si in a hatch, think it was a big mistake reserving it for the type R only.
Am i the only one that hates the way the si seats look? I think it’s the color i don’t like.. just bought a 22 civic sport. But i really want the si or if i can swing it the integra type s. Great video!
FK 8 will stay as Legend ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hello Cori. Welcome to the channel. Cameron is a Kool guy
Yo you from Caribou? That’s crazy! I’m going there next week to see my grandparents for thanksgiving. Small world.
As a 10th gen type r owner, I felt like the new si was much more comfortable and had better rev matching when I test drove one. I like how it has useable power too.
Yes sir! Grew up on Charles Street. Graduated in 2013. Very small world!
The stock tires on the Si are trash. I replaced them with Continental DSW06 last year and it made a huge difference.
Hey!! I own this car and i know how to get rid of the jerking shifting from 1st to 2nd. Tell your friend to buy the K&N air filter and it goes away almost completely! Remember its the k&n filter not the cold air intake! Thank me later!
Get a Ktuner , I’ve permanently disabled the auto start stop on my rdx with the Ktuner
The 11th Gen Si looks to me 98% like an Accord 😅 Baby Accord
Great Job Cameron
Thanks Ronnie
I've always had Accords and my brother has always had Civics. He said that's the only reason I love the 11th Gen, because it looks like an Accord. 🤣
@2:36 - You have a Bose sound system in here. YES. that's a Touring/Sport Touring trims thing. Better then most cars this price range is what you should say. Mazda's CX-30 is better but not by much.
If you ever find yourself out in Colorado I’d love to have ya review my Pontiac G8 haha
Great review. Would love to see a 2023 Civic Si vs 2023 Mustang Ecoboost.
Great video, I test drove and it was nice and composed, interior was amazing too. There was a small markup but nothing crazy, almost but the bullet. But….the Hyundai dealer near me had an Elantra N come in that wasn’t called for at MSRP so I ob I went to go check It out. I left with the car day of and don’t even think about the Si. It’s crazy the prices are so close but the N is in a different class altogether.
Great video 👍🏼
Hey cam, updates on your brz?
Really like the si btw
The parts the shop is waiting on are still on back order. Its really depressing every time I think about it
Caribou!!!! My mom lives in Mars Hill.
Cory reminds me of Jason Fenske of Engineering Explained.
Time to sell the brz and get an si
would love for you to review other civic si’s!
Things blow up after 250whp,if you start
Start messing with them
Awesome video
Ugh just more proof I’m going to need an FL5 one day. 😅
I finally got my Blazing Orange Pearl on 10/30 of this year and love that car. Doug Demuro dissed it. No way...what is wrong with that guy? EVERYONE else raves about it. I waited YEARS. It was well WORTH the wait... Originally I was going to get a 10th Generation 2020 2 door in 2019/2020 but that window closed. So glad I got the 11th Gen. after all...
Doug also is used to driving his sports cars and reviewing many other top notch vehicles, so his perspective is broken compared to the average Joe.
@@Camhill182 He also disliked the Elantra N and stated the WRX felt sportier…?
I did a ktuner on my car and soon will be installing a high flow intake on my 11th gen.si and I’m located in riverview
for me service and sales are crap on my local dealership Just to say I bought a 2018 Si and they never disclosed that it had a racing clutch, shifter, intercooler, and the rotors where gone! 3 months dont he road I got locked out of any gear smh!!!!!!!
I need to buy one before they stop making these. I hope they will make at least for couple more years
Dope video ! I still can’t believe the US model didn’t get the fully digital dash like the Canadian one did. Still a nice car tho 👌🏼
Not sure but Im liking the old type R coz this one looks like an accord with hood scoop
I got one also. I love it.
On paper, appears to be an approximate facsimile to my ’06 TSX. Want to test one.
My son bought his in oct, black
@Cameron HIll trade in the BRZ for it when you get it back.
This 👍
The only thing that is better about the 11th gen is the rev-matching and the interior other than the lack of heated seats. No active dampers, the shortened final drive ('20+) sucks, especially for autocross and you specifically mentioned it, the steering is "light to the touch" which is basically the opposite of what you want from an Si. Imo the 11th gen Si is an overall downgrade from the 10th gen. That being said, I would absolutely love to drive an R.
Good points, but I think the mid cycle refresh that Honda always does might bring back some robbed features
Cam, I’ve got a 2020 WRX STI Base and a 2022 WRX Limited in Downtown Orlando sitting in my parking garage if you ever need some wheels for content.
Dude! I have been wanting to drive a 2022 WRX!! When I get the BRZ back, we should *test them out* if you know what I mean :) but yea I would love to make a review too in the meantime
I think the best choice is to get the 11 gen Si instead of the type R cus the mark up price is crazy and with that you can buy a turbo and slap it on and I’m sure it will make the same amount of power.
nah, the type r is very different from the si. You could make the si as fast as the type r in a straight line, but it will never have the same type of driving feel as the type r. The way the type r corners, the si will never be able to, even with the aftermarket suspension.
@@edwint1780 Throttle house was not too impressed with the steering feel. And for those of us that don't track, I bet a tuned Si would be pretty sweet for our daily commutes.

Cory doesn't seem to know much about cars. But we all start somewhere.
You're right! I'm learning as I go.
Saw another video where the motor blew not even pushing it lol. Not tuner friendly as people think
I think the Honda going in the past for 10 years 😂😂
As far as the Bose sound system, my only issue is the lack of an EQ that allows you to really fine tune the sound. I just traded in a car with an aftermarket head unit, aftermarket speakers, an amp driving the speakers, and a subwoofer (with a separate amp obviously driving the subwoofer). The stock Bose system has plenty of power. The problem is that you can’t really fine tune the sound like I could with the aftermarket head unit because all that you can do is turn the bass, midrange or treble up or down. The factory head unit is fully integrated into the car’s operation and functionality, so I must keep it, but I’m wondering whether there’s a way to add an EQ to the system.
Really want a new si but really dread dealerships. Has always given me sketchy vibes
When I bought my 10th gen si a few months ago, it ended up blowing the head gasket in like 2 months. Got a cometic head gasket and ARG head bolts now, so it wasn’t a total loss. But I was lucky enough to do it myself.
Im with you. I despise dealerships
