This is a piece my favorite choir teacher loves and did his own arrangement for his Father's funeral. We, as a choir, learned it and sang it at the end of every concert. I'm very excited to hear this!
My choir teacher taught this to our class in 7th grade. At the school I went to you’re with the same 20-some kids and the same teachers every year so this is one of a few that songs we sang together as a class that gives us the feelz ❤️
I remember singing this for my girlfriend a couple years ago. In the spur of the moment and in my love and devotion for her, I only changed one line and sang to her, "I'd surely find no other." Lovely song. :D

I love this kind of stuff. This is the perfect kind of stuff for a road trip. Colm, you’ve seriously done some amazing works. I hope the Irish music doesn’t stop anytime soon.
To be honest I've never heard of this song before but I'll definately give it a try. This will be a good start into the weekend. I just hope I'll be there for the premiere at least once😅
Awesome! Most versions I've heard are either slow and somber or quick and upbeat, but I love that you made it both! Also, the higher harmonies toward the end are lovely and remind me a bit of your earlier shanties with the high-mid-low trio.
Sadly my friend died this summer and this was played at his funeral. I didn't know the song before that. But this is a particularly beautiful rendition of it. Thanks so much 🙏
Wild MountainThyme … wonderful! People will feel nostalgia for Scotland, even if they haven’t been there. Always sends shivers down my spine ……and it was even better than expected! Thank you so much
I got goosebumps when the instruments joined in with those beautiful harmonies. It was also rather cute how much you enjoyed singing/playing this. That made me smile 😊
Dude I have to say, you have no idea how much I enjoy playing your songs on the background while playing Witcher 3. It just that bit of atmosphere I really enjoy.
Greetings, I admire your voice and your songs, especially those of the series The Witcher, can't wait to hear this Scottish song! good luck, keep it up :)
there is a Scottish song that has a similar theme, "Braes of Balquhidder" - there's even a site online that mentions "Wild Mountain Thyme" along with the song, though the versions that I've heard are different. Either way, this/these songs are brilliant, and very well done here!
Never heard this song before, but anything sung by you automatically turns into spun gold. So delighted to hear more folk songs from you!! Lovely vocals as always. 🥰
Beautiful! My son sang this at an open mic. Audience knew it and loved it. He's introduced me to a lot of Scottish and Irish songs. And oh...SEA Chanties!
Well, you brought quite a few tears to my eye with this one. I remember, my dad had a cassette of traditional Scottish songs, he used to play it now and then. Usually on car journeys, when we'd go out with the caravan, as I recall. This was one of them, and I haven't heard it in a long, long time now. It was beautiful. Thank you.
I just can't get enough of your voice! I'm so happy I found your channel because I love this genre so much! My "Shanties, Ballads and More" playlist is getting so long!
Staple song in my house with my mother and grandmother when I was younger. My son found your version independent of me, but I 'm forced to wonder if it's because I sang it to him as a baby.
I first heard this song when Kirsten Adamson (Stuart of Big Country’s daughter) sang it on a livestream. It makes me cry whenever I hear it. Your version is wonderful too. ❤
@@DrSeuss-px3oj Wow. Have you showed her this? Does she remember? I read to my son since he was 2 weeks old. Harry Potter and the manual to our new stove because...well we were waiting for the next Harry Potter. But we kinda bond over Harry Potter now. We have a new stove now LOL He doesn't read manuals. This is the first song I learned as a bard in the SCA and now I sing it to my daughter to help her sleep. You did a wonderful job and this video will definitely be added to one of my playlists!
The first modern version I've heard of this one since the corries and I can say this has the same spirit but still has your own personality in it, beautifully done.
This has got to be one of my favorite covers from you. As cliché as it sounds, it genuinely brought a tear to my eye! Don't ever stop being so fantastic!
My neighbor, Mary Reilly may she rest easy in Heaven, sang this song into the ground. When she passed it was like the birds' lost their voices.
God bless and keep her 🥺
