I didn't even get halfway through this video and already I was thinking what a fantastic tutorial video this is and how creative an idea! I can't wait to try this on my channel (I will of course mention your channel!) Now that I have watched it all, I must say how impressive this piece turned out, I absolutely love it!
*YOU totally DESERVE THE STONE COAT YOU GOT THIS AWARD!* NICE, SUPER ORIGINAL & UNIQUE PROJECT! Just a thought that alcohol inks are not lightfast so if you plan to display this in any sunlight I would spray it with Kamar UV varnish just to protect the color ;) Awesome & very inspiring project! Congratulations as well !
Love that window, turned out gorgeous!!! You did a great job with the puffy paint and alcohol inks. It looks so genuine, like real stained glass. I've done old windows with pieces of stained glass that I cut, designed and glued onto the window glass and finished it off with grout. I love what you've done...
This was perfect timing!! I’m currently working on a faux stained glass barn door from an old French door that has a broken pane of glass. As someone who works better with resin than glass, I had thought that I might be able to add resin to that area to fill the void, rather than trying to actually replace the glass. So cool! Love it!
This is beautiful! I love ❤️ stain glass windows! I always wondered how a person would make it, now I have a better idea 💡! Thanks so much for sharing! Be blessed! ☺️
Hi Rebecca, best of wishes to you and your family. Hope your son is doing great too. Another beautiful art piece, with every video I turn into a bigger fan of yours. Whenever I'm in the hospital I put your videos on and they truly allow me to focus to not focus on health. Like I mentioned in a previous comment, it is a life goal to own one of your geodes, a goal that forces to look to a better tomorrow! Your talent is a gift to us all!
I really like this 'stained glass' idea. I'd like to try that sometime. Though I will admit, the sparkly-ness of the geodes just draws me in. But I really do love this! I think it turned out quite lovely. I love the birdies!
You come up with such unique art. I just love that about you. Well, also it's nice that you teach people that they don't have to spend a fortune to make beautiful art.
Beautiful! I’m just getting into resin. Ordered tons of stuff and need a bigger studio. I have done this method with watercolor. Now the fun begins with resin. Thanks for the inspiration 😃
I know this is an old video and you may already know this but, if you are afraid of using your torch to pop bubbles, you can also blow through a straw directed at the bubbles to pop them. All you are doing with both methods is creating a pressure differential; causing a lower pressure above the bubbles. The lower pressure above them is why the bubbles pop.
Thanks for the idea...I didn't have a window...(I like urs...) But made mine with cardboard and a protector sheet for the glass...came out pretty I think...I'll send u a pic when I can...my phone is not working correctly...mine is alot smaller too...
I've been getting into doing faux stained glass and I have tried using cerne relief ( Pebeo) and even made my own liner. The tubes that the cerne relief come in are HORRIBLE and it's so hard to get nice lines and get the product to come out of the tubes evenly. You have saved my life with PUFFY PAINT!!! Beautiful work and a really great and informative video. Subbed :)
Thank you for the video! I've been thinking of doing something like this for some time now, doing small projects to get a feel for resin first. Glad to see this project. I've done actual stained glass, and that was fun, if time consuming, as I could only work on it (at school) for an hour a day. Know all about the sort of shapes you just cannot do in stained glass. One I wasn't warned about before doing was a single pane crossing the whole design. Flat snow field under the critter, and... that join was pretty weak. Good thing it was a small piece, maybe 8" across. We were warned about too-acute angles, but mostly allowed to try what we wanted. He was an awesome teacher (now retired), and would give further advice when asked.
You did a brilliant job. I wonder if you used gallery glass paints and then resin over them that way you could fix any mistakes more easily. Also I was thinking you should have used the gallery glass liquid leading but it isn’t waterproof like the puffy paint. Such a beautiful piece. A real labour of love. And to prevent leaks. (Ideas from other UA-camrs) use silicone caulk instead of hot glue. Also caulk down the outside edge.
i like! i have tried the puffy paint and the aldohol ink colors mixed with glue on bottles for the stained glass look.. a royal pain! but it looked great.. this too looks great and not so much a pita as it is flat.. hehehe love the finished product.. hope you do too
@@thefrugalresinista well it will still run . i did it on a small clear beer bottle... saw the idea about mixing with glue somewhere on here i think...
ong been dying to try the alcahol inks, i look at them everytime im at hobby lobby but cant bring myself to buy them yet :( this turned out beautifully, i need to try this, ive been wanting to try to do some stained glass, this seems like a good starter hobby ♡ love your videos
My question is can I cut some glass and glue them down maybe with e6000 and let dry then pour resin? Second question, should I wrap my outside frame with aluminum tape so when I caulk around outside I’m think it will come off easily

Time consuming, yes but the outcome was well worth it. Love the way it looks inthe sunlight as it shows the colors you wanted. Nice work !
Thanks so much!
Have you looked at ‘gallery glass’? It is faux stain glass paint and translucent. Very beautiful and clever!😊❤️👍💕❣️
Great job! I enjoyed watching you do this. Love that you find great deals and are amazing at it.
