- DIY Stained Glass Window 🕸️| Today we have another fun home decor DIY project. I had this perfect cut-out in my dining room that although not a window has a window right behind it and I thought there couldn't be a more perfect place for me to take a stab at doing some DIY Stain Glass Windows. Now, originally I really wanted to make actual stained glass but after pricing out all of the machines I would need and the cost of materials it would have cost an arm and a leg. So to supplement I wanted to experiment with what materials I could use to make the most similar-looking stain glass out of a sheet of plexiglass. I walk you through my creative process and share some of the steps and materials I chose to make this navy faux stained glass window.

Thank you for watching, hope you enjoyed 🖤
This is the best way!!!
You may have just saved me from a horrible fate. I've been constructing a natural build that's being filmed for a TV channel in the UK. The biggest window is to have stained glass in it, but I'm so out of practice as I haven't had a studio for years. The filmers don't care what's real.....they just want story and images, and I'm running out of time. This is a great method to speed things up (it'll still be on reused clear glass) and get me out of a hole 🙏
I'd been searching for months for a realistic DIY stained glass and they were all so hokey, I finally gave up. Today your video came up randomly. FINALLY! Someone who made this project easy and inexpensive, not to mention absolutely professional looking! Thank you so much!
So happy you found it helpful 🖤
Absolutely gorgeous piece of art. And I love that you used very simple, accessible materials to make this!
Thank you, so glad you enjoyed it 🖤
This is so lovely! The window film was such a brilliant idea, too. Like someone else said, all other DIYs I’ve come across for stained glass haven’t really felt like authentic stained glass. This one does ❤
exquisitely beautiful
Thank you so much 🖤
You did an absolutely beautiful job! It looks amazing. I have to do a stained glass project, as a prop, and I was dreading the cost and labor. Now, you have given me a reasonable alternative. I love solutions! Thank you.
Thank you so much, glad you found it helpful 🖤
BEAUTIFUL! I can hardly believe this is glassless stained glass! I love that you are able to do such awesome projects on a doable budget. Now I'm feeling inspired. Well done!🤩
Thank you so much, so glad to hear you enjoyed this project 🖤
So gorgeous
Gorgeous well done
That looks great. Good choice changing up
the center.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Girl, you're doing the dang thing!!! You're living all our dreams!!! Such talent ❤
Aww thank you so much 🖤
You are gifted! This looks wonderful. I don't think I have the patience.
Aww thank you so much 🖤
Absolutely beautiful and a clever way to perfectly replic ate real stained glass. I used to do stained glass; however it became quite expensive and I had concerns working with the lead. After I finish the many other types of art that I do I'd love to try what you did!
This is by far the very best I've seen... I'm going to do this!
Thank you❤
Thank you so much! 🖤
I have watched probably 1000 videos on DIY stained glass and THANK YOU for this tutorial. Literally the best and very stunning !
Thank you for watching! I'm so glad to hear you found it helpful 🖤
It looks identical to stained glass. Incredible.
Thank you so much 🖤
Just beautiful!!
Thank you 🖤
Very impressive - just loved how it turned out. It's awesome how you just go for it with various mediums and ideas!!!!
Thank you so much 🖤
Oh this was stunning! You have a beautiful eye for colour and detail. I must tell my kid about this as they are looking to do something like this is their home.
Thank you so much! It was a very fun project I hope they enjoy it if they decide to make one 🖤
Gurrlll, I hit the jackpot finding your channel. 😍 Totally my vibe and I’ve been wanting to redo my office!!
Aww I am so glad that you are enjoying it 🖤
So, so beautiful. This was very enjoyable to watch and listen to. And you've got a great eye - choosing to remove the middle portion and laminate it with the privacy film was a stroke of inspiration; it enhanced rather than diminished the end product. Really well done.
Oh it's so beautiful 🖤 What an awesome project. 🥀
Thank you so much 🖤
I love this.... SO MUCH!!! Ugh!!! It's wonderful!
Aww thank you, so glad you liked it 🖤
This turned out amazing! Thank you for sharing. I've been wanting to do a a faux stained glass window but I've been stalling because I wanted a different solution to the puffy paint and gel pains I see most people using. The glue idea blew my mind.
You should totally do it! 🖤
Nasya you always blow my mind! I love your content ❤
Aww thanks so much love, you're too kind 🖤
Stunning
Glorious! Thank you.
So gorgeous! I have a large piece of glass that was a door on an old entertainment cabinet that everyone had before flat screen tvs, and I've been holding onto it until I could figure out what to do with it. Finally settled on making a stained glass piece that I will hang on my porch (if I can figure out how to make it rain proof!). So far I like your technique the most. I just need to decide what design to make and find a way to frame this as well. Thank you for sharing how you redid that part of it. It's nice to know I have that option if I mess up or am not completely happy with a color.
gorgeous design.
I really love this DIY
So glad you enjoyed it 🖤 You should totally do it!
Your breathtaking work is absolutely inspiring. Bravo!
love it great job
This turned out SO gorgeous! Now I'm looking around my apartment wondering where I could put a faux stained glass window.
Whoa - it looks really good, turned out very well. You certainly have a lot more patience than I have. It's perfect for that spot. Nicely done!
Gave me lots of ideas. Thanks!
Gorgeous 🩵

I am Shook and so Happy this is such a game changer, I wanted stain glass windows but they are so expensive (underestandably) but not within my budget, but THIS, I can do! Thank you so much for the tutorial!
So happy to hear it, have fun! 🖤
Oh my gosh! I happened across your channe while trying to get ideas for faux stained glass and your end result is awesome! Its the best i have seen out there. Thanks so much for sharing as i am going to give it a try. Where did you purchase the leading?

That is absolutely gorgeous!!!
Thank you so much 🖤
This is beautiful! You are very talented!
Thank you so much 🖤
You truly did an AMAZING job with the stained-glass window. I can tell by watching you that you are, even if you don't think so, a very patient and calm person. It shows in your work performance. I just found your channel and am enjoying it so very much.
I love creativity❤ I love it when we get ideas to do some thing even though we may have never done it, we can totally dive into a project or multiple projects if you are a DIY person😂 I have an obsession with gold leaf. I have now discovered decoupage and did a vintage wall sconce that looks like a full size lamp with a shade that actually attaches to your wall and plugs in. Did you just feel so much more satisfied When you looked at your project and you know you did it…😊 I bet you did because it is absolutely beautiful.!!
This looks amazing!!! Thank you for sharing ❤️
Thank you for watching 🖤
Magnificent! In my opinion, your choice of Pebeo Vitrail lead makes yours the very best faux stained glass look I've seen. Soooooooo much better than the thin, black plastic look of Plaid Gallery strips... which thankfully, have been sitting in my Amazon cart. But NOW Vitrail is in there!!! I've just learned that Vitrail is REAL lead. What a difference. Love your design. Hope my "Italian" style design comes out as well as yours. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much! I refused to use puffy paint or those strips and when I was researching materials I got so excited when I found the Vitrail strips. I'm sure it will, have fun!
Fabulous!
Thank you 🖤
This looks amazing! I finally have a project for these antique cabinet frames. I too tried out stained glass...quickly decided it was to dangerous for my clumsy self after slicing and burning my hand a few times 😂
That would be stunning 🖤 Ouch, on no!
I freaking love this!!
So glad to hear it 🖤
Wow this project is sooo beautiful such a work of art 😊
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed 🖤

Thank you so much 🖤
That is insanely beautiful 😍
Thank you so much 🖤
Beautiful 🎉
Thank you 🖤
Beautiful...
🖤🖤🖤
Awesome!! I could really use a tutorial on how to do the template in Illustrator.
Hi Nasya, I just watched your video on the stain glass window. Wow it’s beautiful and really looks authentic. Excellent job, going to watch you do more amazing things
I love your creativity and your beautiful window. Now I’m interested in Where did you get your lead tape from and which was it? Looks great. I’ve found several but like the one you used.
I have probably viewed at least 30+ videos in the last week or so on faux stained glass, and your video was EXACTLY what I was looking for. I really did not want to invest in a ton of new paint powders, and more "things" to drive my husband batty. I already have quite the assortment of acrylic paint available because I do wooden yard art, can cut plexiglass with my jigsaw, and I have SplitPrint on my Mac to do the picture set-up. I just need to get the lead strips, and find that cool textured privacy film.
I wonder if it is best to apply that film over the plexiglass, then do the leading? I just wonder how well the leading would stick. Or even Gallery Glass' crystal clear product mixed into those areas instead of the film?
Mine bubbled up as well, I did it over glass. I am at a loss of how to fix mine. This is beautiful.
I found that when I went in thicker it didn't bubble anymore so I basically filled each section to almost overflowing. A few edges peeled up a tad and I just used super glue and it's holding up pretty well.
Amazing
Thank you 🖤
Try using watercolor and aqua pasto. A winsor newton product. Acts like a glaze. Let it harden. Then use sealant like krylon
Thanks so much for the tip!
Thank you. I have been wanting to try this, but hadn't seen anything quite right. I really liked the fake leading you used. What is it called? Product name? And I have watched folks creating projects, but wanted more freedom and felt like I wanted to paint more... So I loved that you were able to blend the colours organically as felt right. Thank you for sharing about the need for thicker product in those centre areas. Sorry to hear they pulled away/bubbled, I really did love the colours, but the finished product is also stunning. Beautiful finished product... Gorgeous, band congratulations on a beautiful window, and great video. Thank you for sharing this with all of us fellow creative types :) have a great day
Thank you so much for your comment 🖤 The lead strips are the Vitrail Self-Adhesive Lead Strip by Pebeo
What a great video!! Where did you get the faux lead? Thanks!
I got mine off of eBay but they sell them at a couple different places. Search for Vitrail Self-Adhesive Lead Strip by Pebeo
Amazing, can we get a link please for the lead tape?
Whoa.
wish you had provided your source for the leading tape....
If I did this for a window that receives a lot of sunlight, would it eventually warp and the glue start peeling off? I am not an artist but would love to try this!
It's beautiful!!!
Thank you so much!
Hmm I am not sure how the glue would hold up long term with that much sun. I know they sell pre mixed stain glass paint that might work better? I wonder if you can mix them to make custom colors
Very cool! Would you mind sharing your source for the "transparent paper" - - looks like a poly or plastic? TIA!
Not sure what exact kind of film she used here, but it seems to be frosted glass film. There's also really nice suncatcher glass film that makes this awesome rainbow effect on your walls and floors whenever the sun shines through your windows!

What design software use for this stained glass designs?
I use Adobe Illustrator 🖤
Please, can I have the pattern? It’s gorgeous! I can drop my email- or whatever you would like to share the file w
