Only got a minute into the discussion and would like to add that it really needs to go back further, to the ancient Israelites. That is where the foundational doctrines were laid Cleon skousen does an excellent job in teaching the correlation between ancient Israel and America's founding. But i agree, Hannah and her work are a great source for truth!!!!

Loved the take on the RLDS connection to the issues with history. Glad to see this called out since it appears many are beginning to adopt these ideas that actually are antithetical to the Gospel and what Joseph restored.

8 minutes in and we're talking about restricting access to scriptures. This is exactly what has happened in the last several years with the religion of scientism. Only experts are allowed to see the sacred scientific research and interpret it for the unwashed masses. There are so many parallels to what we're going through now and what every other religious reformation has looked like. Scientism is the new religion.

Yes, precisely why the Prussian education model was championed by the likes of progressives US Secretary of State Horace Mann , Elwood Cubberly, with a dose of Darwinism, education reformer John W. Dewey, and yes FDR himself established compulsory institutionalized public education.
The 6 tenets of the Prussian model was to essentially produce a marginally informed - and malleable factory work force - NOT an informed citizenry, but a compliant and obedient - dumbed down people. and get this- we were knowingly and intentionally fed a boring and tedious cognitive diet of dates and events - with very little context or interest woven into it.
There was no mistake - "The Academics again, knew what they were doing" See what John Taylor Gatto has to say about it.

The Gospel being about liberty also ties in to the flood being because of the loss of free agency as several prophets have said that the problem with the days of Noah was that it would not be right for children to be born into a world where they would not be able to choose right from wrong.

It is so true that many in academia do not believe in God. I remember taking a history class on religions in America at the University of California. I loved history and took quite a few classes, as I was a history minor. I do not know if the professor believed in God, as he never went into belief or faith. I remember one student, however, who said he was going to pursue a PHD in Religion at one of the Ivy League universities. We both belonged to the same study group for another class, and one day, he asked what religion I belonged to. When I told him that I belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he immediately went on a verbal attack, loudly proclaiming that I worshipped devils and demons! He did this in a public area of the University where many students gathered to eat lunch. He did not stop his raging for about an hour and never allowed me to get a word in. What was odd is that later, in private, he apologized to me, stating that he knew many of the things that he had spewed at me were from antis and probably contained a lot of untruths. He said that he did not believe in God, and though he belonged to another church, he did not believe in it. He also asked me to pray for him, because I might be right! It made me think of the scripture in the Bible where Paul says there will be many who are "ever learning but never coming to a knowledge of the truth". 2 Timothy 3:7. These professors and students of religion were very "learned" however, were barren like the seplecures Christ talked about. Spiritual truth is only revealed through the Holy Spirit to one who is humble enough to pray and ask God, with a sincere heart.

This scripture hit me pretty hard one day while listening to BoM. Alma 61: 15"...according to the Spirit of God, which is also the SPIRIT OF FREEDOM which is in them." Freedom is an eternal principle. It's why Satan was kicked out of heaven. I also believe a lot of younger folks don't understand how precious freedom is, is because they know anything different. I've never been in military or war. Don't want to either. I'd rather protect the freedom already won in this country. Freedom isn't free. I'm sure our founding father's (and mother's) from the revolutionary war would agree. I didn't appreciate my parents until I moved out and realized all the wonderful things they did for me and taught me (I didn't know any different).
    Another scripture comes to mind:
Helaman 12: 2 Yea, and we may see at the very time when he doth prosper his people, yea, in the increase of their fields, their flocks and their herds, and in gold, and in silver, and in all manner of precious things of every kind and art; sparing their lives, and delivering them out of the hands of their enemies; softening the hearts of their enemies that they should not declare wars against them; yea, and in fine, doing all things for the welfare and happiness of his people; yea, then is the time that they do harden their hearts, and do forget the Lord their God, and do trample under their feet the Holy One-yea, and this because of their ease, and their exceedingly great prosperity. 3 And thus we see that except the Lord doth chasten his people with many afflictions, yea, except he doth visit them with death and with terror, and with famine and with all manner of pestilence, they will not remember him."
If this doesn't describe some of our younger (and older) generation, I don't know what does. Sobering declaration from God even unto our generation. Safest place in the world is within your temple covenants with Christ and God.

Dissenters always seek emancipation from judgment. Liberty and accountability can’t be separated, thus, liberty must be reduced. Christ is the righteous judge. He is the law giver. Thus, to be free from judgement you must be free from the law; free from Christ. Dissenters seek to be a law unto themselves, and their own judge.

A thought came to my mind when you were talking about covenants -
    We “enter into” a covenant.
It’s something we actually move into and leave behind what we can no longer be.
We say we make a covenant with God - but He created it - we choose to become a part of it or not.
I am responsible to choose Him or not. There is no other choice. But it is my choice to make.

The temple is absolutely the target. The gqblt and coming soon p issues are the strings being used the most and are linked to the polygamy issues, location issues and they all culminate to subvert temples and priesthood, but most importantly God. I wish Hannah could have talked more, it’s always a pleasure to have her on these channels I watch and watching her punch up at these very popular and very convincing detractors.

    Hey Greg
I view one of the main messages of the book of mormon, if not the main message, is the choice between liberty and captivity. Christ or our carnal nature if you will.
2 Nephi 2:27-29. We can have liberty without freedom, but you can not have freedom without liberty. Liberty is the fruit of heeding the Spirit. Captivity is the fruit of following our carnal nature. A nation (majority) living to partake of the fruit of liberty will unavoidably be free. A nation (majority) not living to partake of the fruit of liberty will unavoidable lose their freedom.

Everyone seems to forget after the War between the States, that the English settlements began in 1607 in Virginia. It was based on English Common law. It was New England that was full of the Religious based settlements. Before people brush off Virginia, remember MANY of the founders came from Virginia.
I bring this up because the early American Progressives that morphed into the modern Woke movement came from New England Churches. That is why many elected Republicans seem like left wingers using the brakes, because they are descended from 19th century Progressives. The Conservatives got crushed & the Democrats became infiltrated & flipped by the Marxists.
I have always been told that the Constitution was an inspired document, well remember much of it came from Virginians, not Pilgrims. Virginia had its own religious based influences.
Maybe I a just shouting at the wind, the early LDS church was based out of New York & Ohio & they were closer to New England which preferred Centralized government than Virginia which was home to Decentralized Federal government.

I feel like there has been a lot more discourse around giving the other restorationiat groups more credential with almost this “victimhood” mentality around it. But at the same time, I never hear about (not to say that it never happens) “prog-mos” leaving our church and joining the more “progressive” Community of Christ (or any other established branches. They are deceived to think a evangelical church near by will accept them and allow them to continue to follow Joseph Smith and The Book of Mormon. Yes they will add long as they believe they can eventually turn you away from Joseph and the Book of Mormon. This family sees the church as going to far in accepting the LGBT agenda. I dunt see the 15 men accepting this but so many individual bishops are.

You should really have Michelle before criticizing her. She is an active faith-affirming member of the church who cares deeply about the church and just sent her son on a mission. Ultimately her objective is to build faith in God and reject the notion that He is the kind of being that consigns all women to be an eternal harem of faceless voiceless baby makers, which is what D&C 132 and early teachings about polygamy insinuate. All of Joseph’s first hand statements on polygamy reject this.
It’s interesting that when Hannah criticizes the narratives around Joseph’s treasure digging and the seer stone BoM translation, because the sources are poor, people are receptive to it, but when Michelle does the same thing for polygamy everyone freaks out.

That indicates to me that's what they took issue with and the blasphemy charges were their way of getting him...if my kid is kidnapped in my car and I have him arrested for kidnapping but instead of making a plea deal for the whereabouts of my child i instead say we'll let him go if i get my car back I feel like you'd be hard pressed to claim the reason I got him arrested was for my kid. I don't think anyone is denying polygamy. Polygamy happened and still does. The question is, did Joseph start it or did Brigham. If you just take current events of Joseph's lifetime. Believe what he said, what Hyrum said and what Emma said. Discount others reflective accounts. Know that Joseph didn't father any other children than with Emma. There are no letters to any other wives other than Emma's letters. There are affidavits of Joseph denying polygamy or multiple wives. I do not believe Joseph to be a liar. The first two printings of the Doctrine and Covenant teach one husband one wife doctrine. Hyrum's speech at the conference, a few months before the martyrdom, strongly teaches against plural wives. Which I might add the Church took down off the Joseph Smith Papers website. How can you say it is insane to believe this? And this is not all. The first-time polygamy was preached publicly was 1852, eight years after Joseph's death in General Conference. 132 was put in the D and C in the 1870's. Read the section out loud. It's crazy. And the polygamist didn't even follow it! There is an increase of multiple wife marriages and children after the death of Joseph and Hyrum 1844. If it was so unsafe for it to be practiced, they all of a sudden got brave after their leaders were murdered. Even the judge in the Temple Lot Case didn't believe Joseph was a polygamist after hearing the "supposable wives" of Joseph, testimonies. I love Jacob's sermon in the Book of Mormon. I believe polygamy is an abomination, a grosser crime and that Heavenly Father wouldn’t want that for his daughters. I believe the Bible. Abram's wife asked him to sleep with their slave to conceive a child for them. I believe Jacob's father-in-law tricked him to marry Leah. How can this be a stretch? Please go be on Michelle Stone's program and set us all straight. She asks for others to come and share all the time. I would love to be set straight. I have been wrestling with this for a long time and I would love to let it go. But it all comes up again when I hear that it is crazy, insane or a stretch to believe that way. No, it is not. I'm a sane individual who has a testimony of Jesus Christ, of the Book of Mormon, of this Church, of Joseph Smith, of President Nelson. Please don't discount this without looking at original sources. Michelle shears her sources. Whitney Horning shares her sources. That is how I know that the Church took down the teaching of Hyrum's. Because Whitney encouraged me to look up the sources myself, so I did. Michelle would come on your program. I have seen her on a lot of other programs. Yes, I can believe it was Brigham who did this. Along with blood atonement, priesthood band, Adam God theory, disbanding the Relief Society for 20 years, his words to women over the pulpit, taking more than sufficient tithing for his and his families gain, ordaining his son's to be Apostles without other apostles knowing, and then sending the one sons crazy amount of money to him in New York (No he wasn't on a mission and in today's money it would be $200,000 a year), not following the Word of Wisdom, being convicted of adultery with Augusta Cobs, a Cochranite. Which brings us to the Cochran religion where I think Brigham learned their teaching of spiritual wifery.

Jefferson was a Christian only in the same way that Richard Dawkins is a Christian.
Jefferson recognized value in some of the moral teachings of Jesus, but he rejected Jesus's divinity and his purported miracles. Jefferson was considered an atheist by many in his time, so much so that his lack of standard religious faith was a major contention point in the election of 1800 where the main anti-Jefferson point of the Federalist party was that Jefferson was a radical atheist who would lead the US into a new French Revolution.
For example, during the 1800 presidential campaign, the New England Palladium wrote, ""Should the infidel Jefferson be elected to the Presidency, the seal of death is that moment set on our holy religion, our churches will be prostrated, and some infamous 'prostitute', under the title of goddess of reason, will preside in the sanctuaries now devoted to the worship of the most High."
Jefferson is also well known for his push to separate Church and State. The "Wall of Separation" was his project that began in Virginia and carried through to the Presidency. As Jefferson wrote in 1802, "religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legislative powers of government reach actions only, and not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof", thus building a wall of separation between church and State."

Only two other people including my husband were in that domed monument - the other was an immigrant from I would guess some eastern nation and his awe struck gaze rested upon Jefferson's statue, as did mine.
Surrounding us on the walls were the man's heart as reflected in his immortal words - While then Lincoln memorial is flooded by visitors as a "must see" on a bucket list, I alone bathed in the light of Christ in that sacred homage to the man who is, as much of as miracle for this nation as George Washington and perhaps even The Prophet Joseph Smith.

Overall good discussion. However I disagree with Greg's comment about the reason those in Jerusalem tried to kill Lehi (saying it wasn't because he told them to repent but because the prophecy of Christ was blasphemy to them). That's contrary to the account. Go back and read 1 Nephi 1:18-20 and 1 Nephi 2:13), which clearly show that his testimony about their wickedness and the impending destruction of Jerusalem were things that they didn't believe and angered them. The messiah testimony is mentioned there but it never says the Jews called that blasphemy. That's made up.

    • @CwicShow
      @CwicShow  5 місяців тому +13

No, that’s not made up. That was the environment in Jerusalem. Lehi has the vision of the king on the Throne in 1 Nephi 1 and 1 Nephi 1 states,
“19 And it came to pass that the Jews did mock him because of the things which he testified of them; for he truly testified of their wickedness and their abominations; and he testified that THE THINGS WHICH HE SAW and heard, and also the things which he read in the book, MANIFESTED PLAINLY OF THE COMING OF A MESSIAH, AND ALSO THE REDEMPTION OF THE WORLD.
20 And when the Jews heard these things they were angry with him; yea, EVEN AS WItH THE PROPHETS OF OLD, whom they had cast out, and stoned, and slain; and they also sought his life, that they might take it away. But behold, I, Nephi, will show unto you that the tender mercies of the Lord are over all those whom he hath chosen, because of their faith, to make them mighty even unto the power of deliverance.
Throughout the Book of Mormon and in the New Testament, we are told that they killed the prophets because they testified of Christ. This is the entire theme of the Book of Mormon, and it is the reason Lehi had to leave and the reason the Book of Mormon was launched. It is important that we see this.
The Deuteronimists, the ruling party at the time, removed the doctrine of Christ from their theology. Lehi was fighting against this.
Laman and Lemuel carry on the new traditions of the Deuteronomists. Lehi and Nephi rebel against Jerusalem’s new religion as “Visionary men”. Those that follow the prophet Isaiah’s focus on Christ.

What I found leads greatly to Meso America, including Joseph's own publications on more than one occasion, stating such. Even the Church has recently acknowledged these writings as very most likely coming from Joseph himself. These facts cannot be denied. The boundaries of America today,we're not here then, so America plays a role, but a secondary role and not a primary role. My book will disclose all of this. The purpose is to simply fortify testimonies gained through faith

Personally, I see more evidence for meso-america, however, in light of new archaeology and evidence (Wayne May does some fascinating stuff), it could go either way. FACT: Nobody knows for sure except those that are dead. Good luck with the Book.
