Thanks a lot man. I'm honored that you enjoy the videos so much you look forward to new uploads :) I'm very happy you get entertainment from the channel.
Nice vid. I remember back in the vanilla days people on my server didn't like t0.5 though. A lot of it was kinda weak compared to giving t1 drops to new 60s because established raiders were already in t2 usually, and it also seemed like it was more effort compared to how easy MC and Ony are.
Thanks man! Yeah, when making the video I also had the notion the tier 0.5 sets were inferior to raid gear - and I think a lot of them are - but through people commenting I found out that the rogue set specifically is actually very strong with one of the set bonuses. I guess that's the main exception.
Back then, i went tru the whole questline 3 times: warlock, paladin and warrior. This quest chain is one of those rare and epic chains you MUST do at least once. To put it in context, this is akin to the Onyxia atunement, or Tirion's quest chain in the plaguelands. Even if you don't need the rewards, the story in itself is sooooooooo good. Seriously, even if you are decked in tier3, this quest chain is one of the best, most complete, best told, self contained story lines in the game. You see, there is a reazon why you doing all of this, and, spoilers ahead, this is why: So it all starts with an adventurer like yourself, waiting for an audience with Magni (if you are alliance) She is there tryin to get help... you see... she has been runing away from some spectral assassins. sent by a powerful spirit that she, and her group, disturbed... they stoled a powerful amulet from this spirit, and because of that, they got cursed... they tried splitting the amulet in 2, but that did not help... and so, one after another, the components of that band of adventurers fell to the hands of the spectral assassins sent by the spirit of Lord Valtalak. So you must not, recover those 2 halves of the amulet, put it back togheter, and return it to Lord Valtalak. You go find those spirits around the world... but it ain't gonna be easy... you gonna need to prepare with a series of materials, regents, and doodads to summon forth, and even to just be able to see those spirits... The whole chain is a world wide questline that will take you from Feralas to Plaguelands, and back again, to recover the amulet, call forth Lord Valtalak, and redeem this poor adventurer's spirits. Finding and talking to each one of the fallen adventurers is very memorable. Oh, and the whole thing includes a speed run tru Stratholme to save the wife of one of this adventurers from the hands of the Baron Rivendare! I still have the items to summon this ghosts... the brazier of invocation, and the banner of provocation... but you can no longer summon most of the bosses in retail :(
3 times you've done it - that's pretty impressive! I haven't read through all the separate quests, but for the purpose of the video I had to get at least a general idea of what they're about, and the story seems very cool as well as your description of it. I like that the quests send you to places that you otherwise wouldn't visit - like the Purgation Isle in the Hillsbrad Foothills. It seems like the story and exploration aspect of the tier 0.5 questlines is worth the time investment in and of itself.
I'm actually gonna try for my set. I'm on Skeram so I don't really go to raids, just dungeons so this is a goal of mine. It's a different type of server. The gear you see people rockin is super differnt than other servers
Ret Paladin is viable in full T2 with Zinrock, Ashkandii, or Hand of Rag. I use Ashkandii and consistently hit top 15 in 40 man raids. Not the best dps but if you use all of your abilities properly you take pressure off of the healers while dealing out decent dmg.
There are other spelldmg shields, granted they are not as good since they are of the ".... wrath" variety and have no other stats but they surly exist.
Yeah, I didn't think about that when I wrote the script for the video. I realized in the end and added a small correction at the 19:53 mark at the bottom.
What about the 5 man group you can fight in the BRD arena? You summon them with a banner rather than the brazier of invocation. Or did you just figure nobody would want to farm it since summoning them will mean 0% chance at savage gladiator chain?
I didn't know that they dropped anything, so that's a bummer. If I did I would definitely have included the encounter, but thanks for letting me know. I apologize for the oversight.
Your probably right about low barrier to entry for raiding and these sets won't be grinded for. Blizzard might have to step in but best they dont. When phase 5 comes out we probably see more players bc of the new raid. Will have more raiders compared to the old days.
Yeah, I think you are correct that we will probably get a return of some players with the release of AQ. Hopefully, some people will be motivated to do the tier 0.5 quest-lines if not to get better gear then to experience the quests and the cool story/stories behind them.
@@moegdalswowvideos6800 Wow classic stories are good. The players the probably be going for these 0.5 sets might be the players re-rolling/making new toons. The other day I had to run LBRS. Spent 3 hours with different ppl jumping in and out will guildies with BWL/ZG gear helped out. I'm hoping we will see more of this behavior.
@@moegdalswowvideos6800 I would believe you if this was private servers. Our classic servers are full of try-hards and selfish players. Maybe only on my server. This game doesn't make me wanna connect with new players. Like this 1 UA-cam said "Any game can be prompt up with a good community " community is what keeps most games.
I usually reference classic.wowhead.com/guides/classic-wow-stats-and-attributes-overview each time I'm unsure about stat conversions, and according to that rogues get 1 attack power for each point of agility at level 60. I assume the website is correct, but the conversions might be different for lower levels.
I feel like most of the classic community will try to get there 0.5 their set just to flex out of boredom, I mean what else is there to do other than rank or gold farm, outside of raiding
Hehe, you might be right. I hope so, because the tier 0.5 quest-lines definitely seem like they are worth doing just from a story perspective, and then there are all the bosses etc.
That could be the case. To be honest, I've just automatically assumed that the tier 0.5 gear pieces weren't as great as gear you could get in raids, and I think that's true for the most part (else you would have heard about it you'd think), but the 4 piece Darkmantle set bonus looks very powerful actually, and I can see why it would be worth going for. I would like if it was BiS - that would be very cool!
You seem very knowledgeable and I was interested in your video at first, but you spend so much time talking about other items that aren't included on the drop tables for theses bosses, I'd rather just look it up myself at that point. Food for thought!
So nothing for warriors other than a cape? Good luck getting a tank for these. Maybe a druid tank would be interested , but otherwise you're shit out of luck.
For warriors, the Shroud of Domination is the most exciting drop from Valthalak, but you do have to kill him if you want to finish the tier 0.5 quest-line which is another motivation.

That's good to know! I haven't raided for a long time in Classic so I'm out of the loop. Great to get some insight on one of the less popular specs.
A slight correction, there was one spellpower two-handed mace from Balnazzar in Stratholme also.
Oh, right. Definitely a paladin-esque weapon, but it only has +healing and not spell damage.
