      TheHightower92 at a guess I would say they could easily mass produce tons of perfect hamburgers like in the clip, but they have sacrificed that for a diverse menu, most likely because they aren’t trying to win the customer market now - they are trying to retain them and stop them getting bored.

    • @DanRaidersWarriorsSharksGiants
      @DanRaidersWarriorsSharksGiants 6 років тому +217

      @@TheHightower92 The example in this clip is closer to how In And Out Burger is today from the look of the workers to the style inside.
      Mcdonalds today are much different since they have so much more on the menu than this example or even compared to In And Out Burger so more items on the menu usually makes everything slower.
      More items on the menu increase customers options and that is great but it wont be fast food it could or would take much longer to get your food.

    Notice how they only have like 2 burgers on the menu and I no custom orders. That's how they were so fast and fresh. Now its the same system but with 50 items of course its not always gonna be so fast so fresh

    • @grzyruth9205
      @grzyruth9205 6 років тому +38

      You can blame Subway for that actually. It's because of their influence that customers felt they could customize literally anything on the menu (which they nearly can) and so that slows down sandwhich assembly for literally everybody that has ordered. If one order takes 5 minutes to make, then that's 5 more minutes somebody else has to wait for their regular cheeseburger.

      neon thats what I'm saying. If they stuck to a 5 item menu it would be easy to maintain things fresh. Daniel Lopez Im in the service industry as well worked half an dozen different bars, restaurants and venues. I agree with what you said about maintaining being hard if you have too many items. it also has to do with the branch out and global presence of branches. its not impossible to use fresh ingredients but mc donalds as many other fast food restaurants give up quality for speed, so yeah I agree

At first he's pretty fair with the brothers, offering quick solutions for mass production. But the brothers are so set in their ways that it doesn't leave much room for expansion, and they're unwilling to take risks that could mean success. It may have seemed more like an evil act, but that's really just good business.

      the movie is to entertain and exaggerate things for entertainment.
      the real story is the mcdonald brothers started their first fast food place in 1937, by 1941 they turned that into a drive in with car hop service. by 1948 they turned it into the speedy service system with a limited menu. that was so successful prior to their meeting with ray kroc the brothers were making $100,000 profit a year. ray kroc noticed that the brothers ordered 5 multi-mixers which was mind blowing for ray kroc. what type of place needed to churn out 40 milkshakes in one sitting.
      they meet. ray being very impressed called them begging to be their franchise agent.
      they worked together for 6 years until 1961 where ray had all these ideas and the brothers were more conservative didn't really think much of ray's ideas. the brothers offered ray if he wanted the whole business pay them $2.7 million. the brothers had no children and were getting old/tired what have you. ray buys them out. richard goes home to new hampshire. mac stayed in california died in 1971. richard having died in 1998 saying he had no regret in selling. he was a salt of the earth guy that as long as he was comfortable was more than content.

      They still got the bad end of the deal though. Where they made their mistake was they allowed ray krock to franchise the McDonald's name. In the movie they basically just blindly give him the McDonald's name (without realizing it) and that is correct. They did walk away millionaires but Ray krock walked away with the name which is worth much more today! And the brothers weren't exactly the best business men and Ray krock was much more smarter than them.

    Loved this movie. But, honestly, it made me want to never go to a McDonald's ever again (Not that those places were ever high on my list anyway). I know Ray Kroc was a slime ball, but never knew just how much he did to screw over and rip off the McDonald Brothers. Not to mention others. I know movies take liberties with facts, but since confirmed all the main details online. That 2% alone he never paid them would have been worth Millions to their family. Ass Hole Slime Business Man. Not only did he steel everything and all their ideas, but later claimed he came up with it all. Then put them completely out of business by opening up a McDonalds across the street from Big Ms Burgers not long after screwing them royally in that buy out (Yes, that actually did happened). Dick....

      William Rickman he never paid them there share because in the movie that McDonald brothers and. Ray and the McDonald brothers agreed that they would get a certain percentage of their share from the company but the problem was that they never signed legal papers or a contract sayin so and Ray gave them his word that he would give them their share and the McDonald brothers beloved him and never asked for a contract or something legal stating it.
      The original McDonald brother and their families today could be rich off of that share that Ray promised them

      ezakustam I understand. But fast food restaurants had been around for 20 years before McDonalds was established. So they didn’t invent the experience. They streamlined and monopolized it.
      Still, my point is that the way his reaction was portrayed in the film was kind of silly. It didn’t take a genius to figure how to eat, especially considering he was surrounded by dozens of people doing the same.

    There is something so nostalgic about McDonalds. Yeah, it's shitty food but that's what makes it special. When I think 'Pizza' or see a cartoon image of of Pepperoni slice I don't think of like high-quality artisan pie's crafted with the finest ingredients, baked in in a stone oven; I think of a greasy new york slice with cheese oozing down the sides. The same thing can be said about McDonalds. Sure, there are a lot of better burger places out there, but none of them really have that iconic taste the way a McDonalds cheeseburger does... with the strangley sweet and slightly stale bread, the overly sharp mustard and ketchup, the uncharacteristically mild onions as well as the pickle. I don't know what they do to that pickle but it feels like biting into vinegar, and I love it. I feel the same way about their chicken nuggets in sweet and sour sauce. The nuggets don't taste like normal chicken and the sauce doesn't taste like regular sweet-n-sour but it's still just so iconic. I only wish they'd bring back the pizza they had in the 90's.
