I am Indian, and I THANK YOU for this recipe. I used fresh ground cumin and coriander, and also my own home-made fresh ground improvised tandoori masala (cumin, coriander, cloves, cardamom, fenugreek seeds) instead of standard boxed garam masala. Turned out so good!!
Finally a simple and straightforward recipe for this dish. Love it I can't wait to try it

Agreed, made it last night, never tried to make tikka masala at home before, and it was the best I've ever had. So good.
I just wanted to say thank you for an amazing recipe. I made this last night for the first time. The only thing I changed is I added about 2 tablespoons of tomato paste to the onions when I added the spices and put 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper in for some heat. Served with the basmati rice and some naan that I bought from a local Indian market. I do a lot of cooking and consider myself a skilled chef, and this easily was in my top 5 favorites. Tasted like something you would get at a fine Indian restaurant. Subscribed, and thank you again.

Ive tried so many chicken tikka masala/butter chicken recipe and this is the best recipe so far! Everyone loved it. I used your website's ingredient calculator (very helpful) for 15 people. It felt like the yogurt was a bit too much at first but once I fried the chicken all extra yogurt and juices gave the curry really nice flavor and color. Thank you for sharing this recipe!

I don't normally comment, but I was skeptical of this and it turned out AMAZING! Took me back to my days in Berkeley eating at house of curries. I made a couple changes because I am currently sheltered in place. So first change. Only marinated for like an hour. Swapped the yogurt for half and half in the marinade. Used a ton more half and half later Instead of cream and kept adding half and half until it tasted right. I also added butter to the sauce to make up for no cream. Instead of tomato puree I blended a can of whole peeled tomatoes and put some tomato paste as well. I used chicken breast instead of thighs. I didn't have kashmiri chili so i Used a bunch of cayenne pepper, California chili powder and paprika for color and heat(j love it to be super spicy). I added cardamom powder. Only had half an onion and it was perfect.
I made this and it was Sooo good... My husband doesn't like Indian food and he loved this recipe. I wish you had a recipe for chicken curry. Many blessings to you ❤❤❤

We're having this for dinner tonight so I really hope the kids (who always get this whenever we go out to eat indian) will love it as much as I do. A side of basmati and a garlic coriander naan on the side this will be amazing... except for the calories but aw well we cant have it all :)

Put some dried fenugreek in a min before you take out of pan
N loads of coriander....
Without fresh coriander(as we say in London)...don’t even bother cooking any curry...fresh whilst cooking and garnish...but the fenugreek dried will make all the difference
Good tip. I've found kasuri methi really elevates chicken tikka.
I have an Indian restaurant in London n ppl say we do the best butter chi...
Dried fenugreek(kasuri methi)...is the secret ingredient
And always use chi tikka marinaded the night before..grill it separately then booooooom!!!!

Use heavy cream

@@tansarmehmood7917 I used half and half, and the taste was legit; so I'm sure it won't matter whether you use whipping cream or heavy cream. Either one would be great. But if you're going shopping for ingredients, go with whatever you think you'll use the most if there is some leftover. You can't really buy 1.25 cups of either one. The smallest amount above 1.25 cups would be a pint (2 cups).
