- In today's video we are starting on the donor Octavia VRS and the Audi RS3 engine, there's parts to order for the RS3 and also the damage to strip off the Octavia VRS, as always there are issues along the way with projects and I think we've found our first issue, and its a big one!

"Got the aircon guy in to degas the system", aye ok then Dean lol. Is that like going to the airstrip for the draggy times? Love it and you are a maniac as this is such a big project.
He must use the same aircon guy I use🤣🤣💨
@@hakeemsaunders1258hold your breath?
@@dannewman3306 fuck that 🤣 just means it’s time for a smoke break outside
The new engine has the GPF filter in the exhaust ,that little sensor you showed in the video is a pressure sensor
Engine is compatible,
Pre opf to opf has been done many times. I’ve done it twice myself
Swap the full engine loom, inlet manifold and injectors. And obviously the downpipe
As always a proper proper good watch. What amazes me is your doing all this on your Jack. No mates, no cameramen, no Dads nothing. You have genuine mechanic skills and make your content understandable and something most can relate to ( to an extent - for the likes of me there’s no hope )
As I suspected this is gunna be one hell of a series and if there’s any justice it must surely get you thousands more subs
and he can talk properly lol
Commenting off back of part .I'd love to see a teardown of the red engine see what was causing low comp. Could sell it as a working engine then. 😊
Great content Dean, love Skodas. The videos give a great technical insight to their technology and how it all fits together. Can’t wait for fire up 👍😎
You can swap the wire harness, intake manifold, accessory and all sensor and engine will work fine. The engine block is same 100%
Loving this series, can’t wait for the next video. Keep up the good work 👍🏼
Hello Dean,
Thanks for another, down to earth, relateable video, this time on the Skoda VRs engine swap.
This is good, honest content, which is highly watchable.
Keep up the great work & good luck!👍👍
To true Dean. You learn something everyday and you always figure out a way to make it work.
Love watching your vids and the transformation of these vehicles.
Great content Dean, really interesting, looking forward to the next episode, top stuff, well done.
Love the Octavia, another great series
For you maybe trouble, but for us this what making this channel interesting, because it is nice to see how you solving a problem...we however would stop here and except that this was a failure, but on the other hand are finding somehow a solution and being creative !!! Funny but true ! That why i love this channel so much ! Hopefully somehow these engine are compatible ......But nice video as always !!!
I'm loving this mini series Dean, i was going to suggest putting the RS engine in the red one, but I just read a comment on this, good luck with the rest of the build
I have just subscribed to your channel. I like anything like this. Saw you on CCD. Great work.
Great video!! Never give up!!! Did the pliers scrape the paint off the front leg when you straightened it? Will that rust?
Dean wow you stay so calm I have enjoyed this video and look forward to the solving you will do. Can’t keep a good man down
Must be your biggest project, looking forward to the end results 👍
Loved it when the notification came through about this build..Kids in the bed let's goooo
Dean box in post from me. saving salvage clock etc...
Smashing video really looking forward to the next one!!
Great vid! Will be watching whenever you are able to put next vid out. No worries.
Hi I am really really enjoying this new project . Yes that is a big difference on the engine code hopefully it will work if not then you may have to rebuild audi engine and then see it then look for a new compatible audi engine to fit in skoda what ever happens this is very addictive viewing thank you
Hi Dean. It's Great to see a start to the Skoda's. Good luck with it. I hope these Engines will work, surely they can't be that different Dean 😮. If they are then all your plans will be up in the Air. I was going to say something else then lol. I hope you can sort it out bro. 😅 🇨🇮 Wow Dean i just figured out how too buy tickets. Sorry I'm Irish bro lol. I just bought some for the VW T-Roc. I'm so Happy. Now I can Buy for every car. Thanks so much Dean
Great end to a Sunday, thanks Saving Salvage!
CHHA or B are from the 230 and 220 vRS, DKT is from the 245 vRS, that sensor is for the gpf i think. CHH engines have direct and port fuel injection, DLB or DKT have only direct injection
Okay so I’ll have to swap the fuel systems over and a few other bits then. Hopefully the head and block are the same.
i had 245 vRS its a f*cking good car.
@@SavingSalvage i'm not 100% sure but yes block, head, turbo are the same
I did wonder as the 245s have the vaq lsd diff as well an early face light 230 didn’t from memory. I have a 245 black back estate such an underrated daily wagon very stealthly.
245 also have the uprated rear 310 vented brakes
@SavingSalvage Direct Injection and older conventional port injection fuel system work in completely different ways. Not only do the fuel systems differ the internals of the engines such as the pistons are also differ. It would take too long to explain..Google it..
Well done dean another great project in the making
Brilliant Video as always hope it works out!
You've got this Dean! Also noticed how close you were backing up onto the lifter! 😂😊
when you were twiddling the turbo, it sounded like you tuning in an old radio 😃😃😃😃
looking forward to the Nissan updates!
Great video Dean, you will sort I am sure.
Always look forward to your uploads Dean love the channel & the competitions! 1 day I’ll win !
you could swap wiring and ecu s to match engine as you are putting different motor in anyway
hope everything goes well,,brill videos as always,,,, gtr my fav tho
Great video, as always. Do a bit of homework on the engines, it will be fine. Cant wait to see the next one, its a really nice project.
Keep up the good video just rebuild the red Skoda engine be good content and good to watch you rebuild it 👍
Enjoying this project Dean ! Hopefully you set the old Mirc on fire 🤨😉
Great content as always
I admire your skills and bravery. Luv your videos. Cheers.
Your determination is great i would have gave up at the start
Gutted that this is wrong engine Dean but haven't seen a hurdle u haven't over came yet and u will with this too! Great channel looking forward to 2 videos a week also IF you find the time
Loving the content Dean.
I’m looking forward to this one the most, and maybe the GTR
Have a tidy up in the workshop it looks like a bomb site 😁...then there would be plenty of space for a jig 😉
Good luck with the engine 👍
Your content is so addictive Dean, I enjoy it a lot, keep up the good good work. Watching from South Africa.
great series
Complete headache for you Dean, but great content for us 🤔 As you say, it was never going to be easy. Keep up the great work 👍👍
I’m really enjoying the Octavia vRS build.
I hope you find a way around the engine problem.
If they are not interchangeable, could it be possible to part exchange the engine from the white Octavia for the correct engine for the red one❤.
Gonna be unreal this when done 👍
Good luck with the dilemma, hope all works out 17:22
nice Project, but take care, the Daza Turbo works not like the old one, the waste gate is open, and close on boost to save money. I'm not sure, bit check it befor
Great video mate
Cheers mate what a twot
Opps , never mind dean , one day you will change the engine , and low and behold, everything will go fine , or as you say sweet ...
You will do it , 😊
Uploading the video same time as Mat Am..😅 but I love both of you 🎉
Ive watched long enough to know you enjoy the challenge
Awesome! Ive done an awd swap on my mk2 Octavia vRS and k04 hybrid. Im on the fence about doing an RS3 swap at some point. The wiring worries me 😂
Was going to buy parts car but they've shutdown BB4U! The last post BB4U made was literally promoting your channel working with copart... Thanks copart...
Any updates on the TVR?
Cheers Pat 🇦🇺
Noticed the British steel holder in the dash?! Madness cause I work there!
love your Vids - but wheres the TVR? the car that started me watching you channel
Rs3 front end swap to 😮 that would definitely be a 1 off then 😊
That white residue can he a sign of increased combustion temperatures check the plugs they normally tell the same story. Do you know if that rs was ever mapped at all? I can't remember when you stripped it in the one video if there was any engine mods.
My bet would be a ‘pops & bangs’ map installed causing CAT damage by over fuelling. The white stuff in the turbo housing is residue from the CAT.
Hope it all works out for u
I miss my Octavia vRS FL , i had same red HB
I love the white estate, especially with an RS3 engine in it
Hi Mate. I appreciate that when filming over a number of hours, you may mention the same thing twice, but in editing, could you try to cut out where you're repeating the same list of parts needed and comments on your to-do list? Also, there was a lot of time spent discussing a broken turbo that you're going to scrap, so I had to skip quite a few minutes to get past it. The timelaps stuff is good and I like what you do in general. Treat these as constructive comments to help you make your videos better viewing. All the best.
Would love to see a golf mk7 frontswap on the octavia. Like a homage from the old days when jettas had golf fronts and vice versa.
F**** No.
I thought it was a Turbo called Darren. 🤣🤣
😂
Hmmmm well thats a huge issue but I am sure one that you will overcome though. I wonder why the difference.
You'll sort it Dean, I have every faith! 👍
Fingers crossed!
One engine is OPF, Other is Pre-OPF.
Swap all the ancillaries over and it'll be fine, injectors etc - long block/heads are the same.
Yeah that’s what I’m thinking. Hopefully that will be the case 🤞🏼
Hope it works out for you. 👍👍👍👍
Hi would you give more details on the hose adapters required for the Daza turbo to fit a cepa engine, thanks in advance.
As a ŠKODA vrs mk4 very interested on he results of this. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Hopefully the vrs engines dont take too much effort to get swopped over and you can get the rs into it soon,
2 uploads a week would be great
On my Tiguan, there were different BHP choices for the same 2.0TD engine. Maybe one is slightly differennt HP than the other - hense the big change in engine numbers.
With that damage on the flitch panel it's a cat S. Strut tower so its part of the chassis technically.
Block and head should be the same. You can swap over intake and all accessories and harness and you should be good to go.
What is the power of the VRS engine standard? what can you get out of remaping it? Any chance of getting about 310bhp i might be interested in it. Having a different engine how does that play with the insurance and road tax?
Any news on the Cerbera please?
Block is identical you'll just have to swap the other bits like fuel system and intake manifold ect
I have a 71 plate vrs dsg petrol.my 3rd vrs.what a machine.can only be topped by a 4x4 vrs i think.i wish they would put the v6 in it but audi wont allow it😢
Strip them to a long block status then swap the stuff over.
CHH is rs230-169kw and dkt is rs245-180kw and gpf on top
CHH is dual injection, mpi and fsi. DKT is only fsi. Plus the white car is going to have VAQ diferential and red one not.
So will he be able to still swap them?
I believe CHH engines were fitted from 2012 - 2018 and DKT from 2018 onwards, what a bad luck, time to fix CHH engine I think. Great content Dean
Stick the red Octavia on compete for cars when done
I know it’s a pain in the arse for you but it makes good content for the channel, good luck 👍🏼
Just bought a ticket for the Golf R the process was horrendous so sorry mate I won’t do that again .
Hay mate just brought a vrs with the 19 option wheel no damage at all if you would be up for a swap let me know thanks
Oh Dean that's definitely category s damage 😂😂
Be a good build 👍
Brilliant Dean. Air con guy. 😂😂😂😂
Damn that’s annoying Dean ☹️ and possibly costly ☹️, plan B enacted lol 😂 and yeah think most of us by now understand how busy your work / family life is and with all the good intentions in world 2 vids a week not easy and so don’t kill yourself trying bro 😎👍🏻.
Good reversing cam lol
That Is very worse luck with two different engines so similarly aged, Dean. Hope you can figure something out. Like what you’re doing with the incidental music lately ❤
Life is never easy for us normal folks. Keep up the great content :)
Already said it just fix the skoda estate as it is and the rs3 as it is. Easy is that
That’ll be for the GPF they came in late 18 so 68 and up. I can’t see why the bare engines would be different. Just need to swap over all the GPF hardware.
