My little brother actually thought of a great theory for a ghost story and it surprised me. What if the note in a ghost story was just.. empty, and thats why he finally moved on. When the other ghost said "I don't think they're coming" it finally vanquished, because they accepted the fact that they have been forgotten. It's the same with what the man at the party was saying, how nothing lasts forever. So when he finally opened the note, it was nothing, forcing him to realize that he would be forgotten like everything else, and that he should move on.
Unpopular opinion:
Under the Silver Lake is top 3 of A24s films
The movie that got me into A24 was “The VVitch”.
great one to see first. I need to rewatch Ex Machina… it has been too long
I am Just not the target audience for the vvitch it's just not my type of movie
I use to do acid and mescaline in my youth and climax really delivers the chaotic,disorganized, unpredictable vibe of it. A good movie for sure
climax is absolutely incredible, so glad someone else has it at #1. it’s certainly not for everyone, but damn is it terrifying and smartly crafted together.
I noticed a lot of movies I like had the A24 in the begging. I love weird movies like David Lynch type stuff. Where I have a hard time is when people act like all there stuff is good just because it is weird… But all in all so refreshing that there are studios making thought provoking films that are getting popular
such an old video of mine i would say all their new stuff past few years would push all of these out
I love the Lighthouse with all my dark soul, but Swiss Army Man stands as one of my favorite movies of all time, as well as one of the most underrated. I'm not usually a comedy guy, cause comedies are usually so surface-level. But this movie is so deep, with so many layers, that the humor just hits harder. Paul Dano and Daniel Radcliff are absolutely incredible. Everything Everywhere All At Once is getting a ton of hype, but Swiss Army Man is still my favorite of the Daniel's films. A24 is amazing. There is no other way to put it.
Ex Machina is one of the best movies I have ever seen. I’m in the same boat I had no idea about A24… Didn’t know what to expect. Truly brilliant
I totally agree with this list, though if I had made it, I would have also added Under The Silver Lake somewhere in there

You ever see the film “waves”? It’s my favorite a24 movie that I feel like a lot of people haven’t seen

I’m surprised no love for green room, room, Florida project, the witch etc... that’s also what I love about A24 tho is that their movies lend themselves to such different interpretation that everyone’s top 10 is so wildly different. I am a huge A24 fan but didn’t care for the lighthouse or under the skin and that’s ok!
i saw green room after and liked it but didn’t love. Florida project i thought was great but i need a rewatch. the witch was phenomenal but didn’t break my top ten, probably could i’ve years.
also haven’t gotten to room yet

you're a really engaging narrator dude, and i love it when people just gush about things they love, but you called a lot of these movies "perfect" without really explaining why. i wish you'd go more in-depth on your opinions, cuz i wanna hear about them :-)

Love the Witch and Hereditary and they are mentioned in my part 2. but i'm the worst with horror movies so it takes me awhile to see them

didn’t see hereditary till very late and thought it was great. think i need to do a part 2 of this list. same goes to witch it would probably be on it. green room was good but not my favorite
