  • This might be the most versatile bait ever and the best part is it catches GIANTS. The Strike King Rage Swimmer has been part of my success for quite some time and every time I look up there are other ways to rig it. Let's look at some of those ways now.

    MY PROFILE:
    I started fishing when I was just a young kid and instantly fell in love with Bass Fishing. Started fishing tournaments when I was in high school and have been fishing them ever since. For years I fished every tournament I could enter sometimes fishing as many as 45 tournaments a year. I qualified for the Elites when I was 30 but didn't have the sponsors or money to compete so I turned it down. Got sponsor support later and fished the FLW Tour for 2 years and having been fishing the Toyotas since 2006. I’ve won 5 Angler of the Year Titles becoming the only fishermen to have more than 3 AOYs in the Toyota series. Won numerous events along the way that has helped shape my way into working for Strike King as head of product innovation. Along the way, I picked up a camera and started filming my endeavors. I have now fallen in love with making videos about fishing and delivering it to you. Follow along the journey...it should be an honest and fun ride!

    Tournament tip: If you see Todd out on the lake and he starts looking all around, then you know he's on fish he doesn't want anybody to know about.

    Rage Swimmer is awesome. I only use 4 colors but I have them in every size. You can always tell when Todd is on the fish. The second he catches he’s looking around to make sure know one is close. 😂😂

    In Florida I Texas rig them with a light bullet weight and drag them through and over heavy pads in heat of summer when bass are feeding on bluegill.

    Great info. Chick is my home lake (30 minutes away), the "u" is silent when you pronounce it, Chick A Maga. I had the thermocline question about TVA lakes you answered on the private channel. Since I have been watching your channel, I have gone back and watched virtually every single UA-cam your have done, both public and private channel. You are an absolute wealth of knowledge. Thanks.

    Good video the only thing I might like to add is that you can also use the bigger rage swimmers and convert them to line through swimbaits. My favorite way is using braid to fluorocarbon leader Texas rigged my go to bait all year round but for some reason I definitely prefer the kitec over the rage swimmer because of the body style and movement of the bait

    Definitely love the rage swimmer. I use the 3 1/4" rage swimmer as my go to spinnerbait trailer. In the fall on Chickamauga and watts Bar I will throw again the 3 1/4" on the flashy swimmer in the shallows, but over the topped-out grass. I don't know what it is but dragging that over quickly the bass will come unglued. Blade isn't spinning it's just there. I like skipping it in laydowns and under undercut banks, so I end up using a weighted swimbait hook more then a jig head.

    I love when they thump it so hard you can see the rod jump on video. That's literally all I watch when watching fishing videos is the rod tip.

    Don’t give away my flashy swimmer trick! That’s my favorite setup for fishing through weeds. Nearly all of my 6+ bass came on that.

    A rage swimmer on a flashy swimmer hook has been one of my favorite follow up bait for any of my topwater baits and honestly it's one of my favorite ways to fish it just going down the bank around grass when it is slick calm and high pressure. Most of the time I take the wire and blade off of it just because I think it makes it more subtle. It's a great piece of plastic and it's not showing any signs of going anywhere any time soon.

    • @HawgWyldFishing
      @HawgWyldFishing 2 місяці тому +1

      You can get the flashy swimmer hooks without the blade on them. Just a regular keel weighted Owner beast hook. They’re cheaper than buying the flashy swimmers just to cut the wire off. lol

    • @DanielBoone337
      @DanielBoone337 2 місяці тому

      @HawgWyldFishing I only buy a couple sizes and weights and you dont have to cut off the wire. So if I'm throwing one without it and want to put it back on I can and don't have to retie. If I kept a bunch of different sizes and weights I'd probably buy both types of screw lock hooks.

    When to throw the squadron head vs. a 90 line tie jig head?

    When they're on bait fish I can go out there with a 3.75 rage swimmer and the belly blade from strike King and smash on em

    Not many people to my knowledge do this but don’t ignore flipping one into cover just as you would with a creature bait. Trust me I won’t be mad if no one tries it.

    Love the rage swimmer...i tried cutting the tail off n screwing a willow leaf but that didnt last long n stick to the flashy. Any chance SK could could come out w a fat rage swimmer that would fit a screw lock double frog hook? I can do it w some swimbaits n can finagle a blade on that double frog hook but I wish owner would make a real double frog hook flashy. Please feel free to delete the comment bc Im pretty sure Im gonna regret putting it out there but at the moment im in the never know unless u ask mindset. Thank you for the channel!
