Okay that Unpacking game was so relaxing for me and I loooved the storyline too. I thought it was so cute 🖤 I've always gotten made fun of for a lot of my gamechoices but I've never cared. I play for me and no one else
I like the unpacking game. It's sort of opposite of the programming games for me. Something where I just run my brain off and move things around. It's strangely fun. Not something I'd play for 100 hours, but its nice to play in short burst for me.
I used to play nothing but AAA games back in the PS3 era, but thanks to the PSVita I got to appreciate indie games. It made me enjoy gaming so much more general! And now a few years after the PS5 launch I have only played 2 AAA games on it (Dead Island 2 and Hogwarts Legacy) and so many amazing indies! Gaming isn't dead, but like you said we have to search a bit longer to find the great games since they aren't covered by the main media.
I think the PS3 era and early PS4 was sort of the end for most AAA studios trying to appeal to core gamers. I plan on doing a follow up video next week where I talk about some of those AAA studios that still make games like that, but I also plan to talk about some of the indie studios as well. I have loved the indie scene before it was really a "scene" so it is amazing to see it grow onto consoles and not just on some niche PC freeware/shareware sites. Glad to see your appreciation stayed, even when moving to newer and better hardware.
