- A cat and a crane both wanted to show who was boss when they were face to face in Kissimmee, Florida.
This video, recorded by Jessica Dickson in her backyard, shows her cat Vinny in a faceoff with a sandhill crane. In the video, Vinny lies low and stares at the crane before jumping and scaring it off.
The crane soon returns, spreading its wings in an intimidating manner, to give Vinny a taste of his own medicine.
“No animals were harmed in the recording of this video. A screen is between the crane and the cat. My cats are not allowed outside the screen enclosure,” Dickson said.

Us natives love our natural Florida but it's getting harder and harder to find, they keep destroying natural habitats. This one looks man made but it still is beautiful ❤️
I live in some basic, highly manicured suburbs and you still see alligators sunning by the retention ponds and otters playing. Most of this state was (basically) only really settled 50ish years ago and it shows.
That's every other house here on Florida. Cookie cutter neighborhoods with man-made ponds surrounded by houses that are 20 feet from another and you can't tell apart. Those Sandhill Cranes are too cool.

It's a great way to scare cats, even big ones. If you can look bigger than you actually are very quickly, cats just kinda bail. They want an easy catch. Not sure why this cat thought a bird three times its size was "easy" lol

I witnessed a sand hill whoop a 90-lb Labrador’s ass in the middle of a road. I’ve also seen one strait up KILL a Canada goose. This would have been a short fight. A very short fight.

I was at the park one time and some idiot let their small child mess with one with its chicks. I knew they were in the grassy area behind my car and I suddenly heard the kid start crying and the parent exclaiming that it had bit him. The kid was a toddler, maybe a little bit older, but like a foot shorter than the crane and it never occurred to the parent that a wild animal with babies, much bigger than her child could be dangerous. It's also illegal to harass them.
